Pixelated images when dropped into PSE

Images that look great on my desktop become pixelated when I put them into PSE. This has never happened before and I am not sure what the problem is... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Try viewing your images at a viewing % (percentage) of 100% (actual pixels), 50% or 25%.
Other viewing %'s will make images look pixelated.

  • Automatically open files when dropped into a folder

    I have a folder which has a constant stream of images being dropped into it. Is it possible for Photoshop to automatically open recently added images of a certain folder, then save (as .psd) and close to a different location?
    It would be nice for Photoshop to do this overnight as new images are being dropped into the folder.

    As a start you could read this thread.

  • Loading larger image when dropped

    Hey.  I am working on this image scroller, where thumbnails of images are displayed.  I get each image by
    function urlLoaded(event:Event):void {
         urlLoader.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,urlLoaded);
         xml=XML(event.target.data);
         xmlList=xml.children();
         for (var i:int=0; i<xmlList.length(); i++) {
              var thumb:Thumbnail=new Thumbnail(xmlList[i].url);
              arrayThumb.push(thumb);
              arrayThumb[i].y=150.5;
              arrayThumb[i].x=i*110+280;
              photoContainer.addChild(thumb);
              arrayThumb[i].addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, pickUp);
              arrayThumb[i].addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, dropIt);
    And I pick up and drop the thumbnail image by
    function pickUp(event:MouseEvent):void {
         getPosition(event.target);
         stage.addChild(event.target as DisplayObject);
         Sprite(event.target).startDrag(true);
    function dropIt(event:MouseEvent):void {
         Sprite(event.target).stopDrag();
         if (event.target.hitTestObject(getChildByName("movie"))) {
              var my_loader:Loader = new Loader();
              my_loader.load(new URLRequest("pics/1.png"));
              movie.addChild(my_loader);
              this.photoContainer.addChild(event.target as DisplayObject);
              event.target.x=xPos;
              event.target.y=yPos;
         } else {
              this.photoContainer.addChild(event.target as DisplayObject);
              event.target.x=xPos;
              event.target.y=yPos;
    Now this is perfect, because If the image is not dropped into the movie clip called "movie", it will be placed back into the scroller at its correct position.  I just have a coupld of issues currently.  I dont want pics/1.png to be displayed on each drop, this was used for a test.  What I need is for each image' big image to be displayed, which all have the same name as the smaller image, just in a different folder.  The images are in the xml file like
    <image>
          <url>pics/img_1.png</url>
      </image>
    So is there anyway I could use any of the above code to load the big image associated with the small image?  If event.target points to the current thumbnail being picked up, could i do something like event.target.url to point to its name or something?
    Any advise appreciated

    You should be able to store the image file name as a variable of the thumbnail and then use it when it comes time to load the image, such as in...
    my_loader.load(new URLRequest("pics/"+event.target.variable));

  • Loop audio disappears when dropped into timeline

    When I preview a loop, it sounds great. When I drag & drop into the timeline, the loop no longer has any sound. Any suggestions?

    You dragged it into the empty area of the timeline, right?
    It sounds like you don't have the instrument that this loop uses (the preview is always an audio file, while the loop itself plays on GB's software instruments). What instrument is that supposed to be? Can you create a new software instrument track and use that instrument?

  • Still images are blurry when dropped into Canvas

    HI, I am running Final Cut 7. When I drop still images into onto the Timeline, when I click on that image to appear in the Canvas they are blurry.  However, when I put on the Alpha+RGB they are as sharp as they normally are - except they are red.  How do I change this so they are sharp in the RGB channel?
    Thanks for your help

    Thanks.  Like I said, I have downsized this still image to 720 x 576 at 72 ppi and it goes to crap.
    I just changed the setting to HD 1280 x 720.  Import the 720 x 576 at 72 ppi ... looks good but needs to be rendered .. render and it goes to crap.  Everything that is imported needs to be rendered - then it all goes to crap. OR video looks good as a still frame and when rendered it goes to crap as it isn't HD but I thought it would be the quality of what it normally is just in an HD environment.
    Thinking Final Cut X will solve these issues as it doesn't have these format problems like 7 does.

  • Is it possible to have an image as an initiator and when dropped into a box becomes a separate module (ie: customer/feedback form)?

    Hi guys,
    I want to make a template generator wherein the symbols (images) would be dragged into a box and would become a separate module (feedback form, calendar, data grids, etc) which could then be arranged/deleted by the user accordingly. Is this possible? And can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance,
    John

    Thanks for the help Adobe!
    I guess you guys don't have a clue either...F* this, I'm getting JavaFX (at least their customer support is hell of a lot better).

    No wonder you guys at Adobe want the community to donate/share their ideas and creations.....its because you have none.

  • Sorting of Photo in Meida Browser & when dropped into template

    My photos do not appear to be sorted in any manner in the media browser. They are not my image date or file name and when I drop them into the template I have to manually rearrange them. Is there something I am doing wrong? Can I change the order they are brought into the template?

    I have heard others report this issue before as well. I don't think there is any easy way around this phenomenon unfortunately.

  • Why is my 60i video pixelated/choppy when imported into Final Cut Pro X?

    I just bought a brand new Nikon D5200 to get into some indie film making. I put together a quick short the night I got it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN8OAprluOI) and filmed in 1080p at 24fps. It turned out great, footage looked great, was ready to test out the 1080 60i they put on it. Again, the footage looked great but only on the camera this time...Every time I go to import it into FCP X it comes up pixelated and choppy but if I'm just watching it in Quicktime its smooth and looks fantastic. Is there anything I can do to get my 60i footage imported into FCP X and stay true to the quality? The codec it's importing on is
    h.264 and when it gets into FCP X it switches over to it's true nature of 29.97i so i just don't know what the problem can be!!
    HELP PLEASE!!!!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hey Zach.
    How did your progressive footage wind up in an interlaced video? (Who is "they"?)
    Typically, one wants to edit as close as possible to what was shot. The cases where progressive needs to be converted to interlaced would typically be where one needed to match delivery requirements in broadcast. The conversion to interlaced is almost certainly going to introduce "issues".

  • Pixelated images when scaled down issue.

    I have scaled down some JPG's in flash and they look fine but
    when I publish to a SWF they look pixelated. I've read other
    threads and done what is suggested i.e. Smoothing on or off, JPG's
    instead of PNG's and quality at 100% with no success. I know that
    Flash isn't a resolution based application and bitmaps are but the
    images look fine in the Flash IDE.
    Can anybody help me further with this. Thanks in advance for
    any help.
    Simon.

    Hi andy 3r x1...I'm not sure I understand what you mean,
    sorry. I have JPG's inside flash and they look fine but when I
    publish and view them through the player they don't. The JPG's are
    scaled in the flash movie but are seen 1:1 later on in the movie.
    The scaled versions are pixelated.
    Anyhow, I've found what the problem is. I'm publishing for
    Flash player 7. If I publish for 8 and above the JPG's look fine.
    Haven't got a clue why this is other then the players are better?!?

  • Pixelated images when in preview mode on iMovie, but when I pause it the images become clear. How do I fix this?

    I just bought the latest version of iMovie and I am on 10.9.4. I transferred my slideshow from the old iMovie to the new one and almost all the pictures become pixelated when in preview mode. Yet when I pause it, the picture becomes clear. What do I do? It's driving me insane!

    After more attemps at cropping Im noticing that the saved version is unzoomed, so if I move the zoom bar just a tad the image becomes instantly sharp. But sadly that doesnt help me because iphoto will only let me save it and post it online as the unsharp pixulated version. Can anyone please help me!

  • Pixelated images when connected 3G

    I've searched all over and seem to not be able to find a resolution for the issue I am having. It also seems I am the only person, I know with an iPhone, with this issue. Hopefully my issue can be resolved through the community.
    When I am connected 3G and view images via apps, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., they appear to be pixelated and not clear. However, when I am connected via wifi, images are clear as day, non-pixelated.

    Try viewing your images at a viewing % (percentage) of 100% (actual pixels), 50% or 25%.
    Other viewing %'s will make images look pixelated.

  • Any solution to pixelated images when zooming?

    Wondering if there is a solution to prevent pdf images on transparent background from pixelating when zoomed in.
    This is a screen capture. There are two knife images. The large white knife is a pdf on a transparent background saved at 108 ppi in photoshop, it is part of a object state/slide show (saved as vector obviously since type is sharp) that fades in. Doesn't seem to matter what size/dimensions I use, it still gets blurry when you pinch and zoom.
    See here:
    The smaller black knife image at top left is also a pdf on transparent background, saved at 108 ppi in photoshop. It is not an object state,etc.
    The knife images look fine at full screen on the iPad, but once you pinch and zoom, both images loose focus and become blurry.
    Any solution to this? The images need to be pdf (or png - which I understand will not scale at all), because they are on transparent backgrounds.
    Thanks!

    Hi gemmie,
    Update to latest firefox 15.0 , your system details said you have 14.0.1(because 14.0.1 it is unsupported)
    then :
    try to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems#w_turn-off-hardware-acceleration Turn off hardware acceleration] in Firefox and "disable the hardware acceleration" in the Flash Player too :
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html
    also try to [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Disabling_Protected_Mode_in_Flash_11.3 Disabling Protected Mode in Flash] (the link is for 11.3, do the same for 11.4), see the same in "Last resort" in the next link from adobe forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0
    If you still have crashes you must [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-crashes#w_step-2-install-flash-10-3 Install Flash 10.3] but first uninstall your current version with [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-crashes#w_step-1-uninstall-flash adobe uninstaller program] .
    It is not so easy, but not so difficult to, you can do it. If you need any help here we are.

  • Pixelated Image when Saving as .pdf

    I've been searching the forums looking for a solution to this problem, but I just can't seem to figure it out. Thank you for helping me out.
    I'm making an 8.5 x 11 inch document and I would like to save it as a .pdf. The text looks great and comes out incredibly clear. One of the images that I have placed within the document comes out looking terribly pixelated. I know I probably need to alter the dpi or such, but I need some instruction on how. I have no compression in place when saving as a .pdf and have picked the highest quality option.
    The document also displays the picture as pixelated when I save in .png form.
    The image that I am placing in the document is in .png form. It seems quite large and has to be sized down to fit appropriately in the document.
    How can I alter things so that the image also looks clear?
    Any advice that you have would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nicole

    Hi Nicole,
    Continuing from Trevor a bit, if you can possibly get the original artword file, that would be best. Unfortunately my experience with Illustrator tracing is "it depends." Where it does the potentially lower quality is the tracing of logos, although the more detailed, the better the results might be. In things like arcs or leaves, AI is trying to follow the line, but if the line is anti-aliased, it doesn't really know where that line is and what it guesses at isn't always what we'd like.
    Albeit detailed, it sometimes is best to replicate it in AI (of course you'd charge them for this) and that will give you complete control on how it's going to look.
    [Note: as an Illustrator practice technique, I look for coloring book artwork and try to replicate it in AI. I take the image (scan it if necessary), and place it in a layer in AI and lock the layer. Then I trace over that image in AI trying to replicate the line-art as best I can. I've found it's a great way to develope techniques and solve problems. Even if you never use these images, it's a great practice mechanism to develop your abilities and force you to find solutions within AI that you might have not thought to look up.]
    However, as Trevor states, if all you have is the JPEG, saving it back to PS is too late. The damage is done. And Acrobat can only put out based on what it got in.
    Good luck.

  • Loss of Color in my images when placed into IDD.

    I am a photographer working on a book involving stained glass, the accurate color reproduction of my images is super important. When I place my images inside the IDD file, there is an immediate loss of color information. It looks like what one gets when jpgs are compressed to much.
    If import and sRGB file into IDD CC, it losses a lot of info and is unacceptable, however when I import an Profoto RBG file into IDD it looks close, but not quite there. See the attached file.
    Tiffs or uncompressed JPG's, it doesn't make a difference. The color spaces are all set to profoto RGB to get it close, but I would like the images to look as they do in Photoshop.
    The attached file is a side by side of the image displayed in PS on the left, the imbedded file in IDD on the right. They are close, but you will notice a loss of color information, less saturation, and the backgrounds are a little different.
    How can I get IDD to display the images as PS does?
    Thank you.
    Tom

    It really seems like a profile issue
    What profile is listed in the Links panel when you select the image. I can replicate your screen capture by placing the image with proPhoto embedded and then duplicating it and overridding the profile to AdobeRGB:
    Links showing the left image with its original proPhotoRGB profile
    Links showing the right image with profile set to AdobeRGB via Object>Image Color Settings
