PL/SQL not working (error starting at line 1)

Good day,
I can't seem to get any PL/SQL commands to run in a SQL sheet. I am using SQL Developer with Oracle Express 11g and can run general SQL statements. Do I need to be running PL/SQL in a different form? I am copying the HR Schema Queries from here:
http://www.srikanthtechnologies.com/oracle/dec9/hrqueries.html
None of them are working and I'm guessing I need to change a setting.
Thanks for your help,
J

I am just trying to assume what your problem may be..
Use a "/" after your Declare-Begin-End Block and then place your cursor anywhere between your pl'sql block and hit "F9" from your SQL Developer.
Things should get fine then.
As far as your queries or blocks are concerned, I dont see any issues with them..

I have a customer who is trying to migrate a Sybase database to Oracle.
He gets the following error during the build step
Error starting at line 974 in command: CREATE SEQUENCE Spot_spot_id_SEQ
This sequence does not exist on the Oracle database or does it exist on his Sybase database. How can we resolve this error so that the migration can continue on.
    Thanks,
    Walter

This is for Sybase version 12. According to the customer this occurs during the build step in SQL Developer.
He has tried the migration in few times. This includes dropping and creating the repository. I believe customer is trying the Quick migration method.

Printer will not work: error code 0xc19a0022

    Hello citizenED,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are getting the error code " 0xc19a0022 " .
I do have a few steps that we can try.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also located a document that deals with a 'Problem with Printhead,' 'Printer Failure,' 'Ink System Failure,' or a '0x...' or a 'C2...' Error ...
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Power book G4 Leopard 10.5.8. File sharing preference checked but not working after start up until unchecked and the rechecked?

I hope the title is enough info, please ask. In the mean time I have created an applescript to open preferences/ sharing and uncheck then check the file sharing box. This works but I would obviously prefer it just work normally. I have no corrupt preference files. Perhaps a file is missing? Thank you.

    Greetings Kwnez
I'm not up to your level of expertise yet. I'm networking and file sharing too, on my Mac Powerbook 1.33 GHz PowerPC G4; OS 10.5.8 Lepoard. At the public library I found by asking the clerk a book Authored by David Pogue. "Mac OS X Leopard the Missing Manual". It (the book) has helped me ask better questions. I'm not saying that your question "
Power book G4 Leopard 10.5.8. File sharing preference checked but not working after start up until unchecked and the rechecked?
is hard for me to understand, I went to system preferences and looked at the sharing box. when I clik it it opens up and the first thing I see is my computers name, and under that i see, " Computers on your local network can access your computer at: ...-powerbook-g4-15.local"
What I'm saying is "Are we on the same Page"

Oh phooey. I had the same problem, so I decided to delete and reinstall. Only to discover that Google's YouTube app no longer supports anything below iOS 6. This is a problem since I'm running an original iPad.
Yes, I realize that my version of iOS still has the old YouTube app. But it's not the same. For one thing there are a lot of ad-supported videos that will only play in the new app.

Well, right now, Apple is getting loads of people who are trying to download the new update. My iPod is doing the same thing, so, just wait an hour or two and then try again. It may take a while to veryify the update, and even longer to actually download it. Some people at my school updated their OS in study hall, while others were having the same problem you were. It should be fixed soon, just relax...

Also, I probably should have added that I am with Vodafone, and I'm currently using the Blackberry Curve 3G (9300) on the version 5 software. I also have no access to the Internet, which is telling me I have no signal. I have full 3G signal, so there is no issue whatsoever with my signal. I don't use the BBM on the phone, so I'm not sure if the issue is affecting that also, but I assume it would.

  • JDBC (SQL) not working in thread

I was surprised by a strange (bug?)
I had two programs that were implementing the Java Serial Port API, each interfaced to a specific instrument. I was asked to combine the two programs into one, run it on one workstation, and run it as a service. This is on an W2K machine and they want it to work even if no one is logged in.
Well, I started each class as a serial port listener and a runnable, thinking it might be best for each listener to have its own thread. That runs just fine. But, one of the instruments sends a lot of data, so once I had a buffer full of stuff to parse and upload (to Oracle), is started another processing thread to handle the data, and let the parent thread get back to listening to the serial port.
Well, I parsed the data just fine, but after I created the connection, created a statement, and then tried to execute a line of SQL, it just stopped, no exceptions, but no results. I keep a log of what is going on, and it looks like the thread just dies.
So, for experimenation, I changed the parent threads back to plain classes and created the instances of them, still leaving the processing piece as a thread. (The only draw back to this is that I cannot transmit from both instruments at the same time.) Well, the SQL worked fine, so I am wondering if there is a problem with the JDBC and threads, or inner threads?
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks,

As I understand it, your code does not work only when you run it as a service. Although I may well not understand it (for example I don't know what you think an "inner" thread is, and I don't understand your distinction between "class" and "thread", since everything runs in some thread or other in Java).
Is this correct? Have you managed to get the original (single instrument) code running as a service? My guess is that there's nothing wrong with Java, but there is some issue with running it as a service.

  • CLIENT_TEXT_IO.fopen will not work Error

I keep getting the following -
WebUtil Error: oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions bean not found. CLIENT_TEXT_IO.fopen will not work.
Nothing I have found on any forum threads has helped me resolve this issue. I believe it has to do w/ configuration. The error occurs in my Development Suite environment I have set up on my laptop. The webutil set up on the Application Server seems to be fine.
I've checked both default.env and formsweb.cfg and both seem to be set correctly. I have the webutil.pll attached to the forms and the webutil.olb in the object library.
    I'm using WebUtil 1.0.6 on Oracle 10g (9.0.4).
If anyone has any guidance on this issue, your help is appreciated.

The error isn't obvious. The Java Console outputs the following. I went through the webutil docs again and still didn't get the issue resolved. Can you help?

  • SQL not working in Multiselect prompt

    Hi all,
I have restricted the results in Multiselect Prompt by giving the sql query. It is working fine but when i try to search for particular record in Multiselect it is not filtering the results by applying the query instead it is using the base query with no restrictions.
    Please help.

I understand and I don't understand... So you have a dashboard prompt set to multi-select, yes? You have changed "Show" to "SQL Results" and added your "active products" filter, yes? Now with the prompt and report in the dashboard, you click on the ellipsis of the prompt and for example, you change "Match" to "begins with," type "A" and click on "Go" which then displays all the values that begin with "A," yes?
Now you select those "A" products and click on the left arrow to bring them to the left pane, yes? Then you click "Ok" which closes the window and click on "OK" one more time to run the prompt, yes?
Now you are saying that the report filters "all the products that start with 'A' both active and inactive, yes? And this is what I don't understand. The report should be filtered by the specific "A" starting products you selected in the prompts, not "all 'A' starting values" regardless of whether they are active or inactive. If you have "Is Prompted" on the appropriate column, you should get only those values from the prompt, nothing more.
How are you getting "all values that start with 'A'"? Please explain.

Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,

NAT can be done - in the routing device - in different ways.
Apps like iChat that have to work with or through NAT have to predict what that is or what the data is going to come across as it goes through different devices.
We know that in iChat's case this does seem to effect the checksums that refer to the ports being used and that it can be seen in the Error logs.
This is not anything to do with the way Apple Does NAT.
The Base Stations are a different matter though.
    These do DO NAT
Although they can be set to do Port Mapping which the Wiki page I linked above says in Miss-named as NAT - they actually do what Apple Calls NAT - PMP or NAT with Port Mapping Protocol which does something that looks like UPnP does, in that it is a One Setting that effects all connections with no setting of ports but allows multiple computers to use the ports.
    Wiki Link
    So it is NOT Leopard.
    It IS the Base Stations.
It IS because there is not an International Standard (or if there is that defines NAT Well enough)
    I hope this helps.
