Plant adress change in enterprise structure .

Hi All,
During print preview of purchase order in delivery address only plant name is coming which it is taking from the delivery address maintained in Item detail of PO .This address is fetched from the plant address maintained in SPRO-> enterprise structure-> logistics general ->
define, copy, delete, check plant ->define plant .So if I change the address now in denelopment and transport it to production will that be any harm to the system .Why I am asking this question is ,I heard enterprise structure is very critical portion ,so we should not touch it after 4 months of SAP running in a plant .
Anybody who is 100% sure reply .
Regards
Abhijit Das

Hi,
It is correct that you should not hamper the Enterprise Structure in a Production Environment. But if it is regarding deletion of any Organisational Element or assignment of Organisational Element or removing the assignment of any Organisational Element, etc...
If it is regarding Plant Address change then it is OK, you can do it.

  • Overall Enterprise and MM enterprise structure ??

    hii experts
Can some body explain me about the overall enterprise structure and MM enterprise structure in SAP.
Explain me with some enterprise structure example in SAP.
Explanation without link will be appreciable.
    Thanks

    Hi,
SAP enterprise structure is organizational structure that represents an enterprise in SAP R/3 system. It consists of some organizational units which, for legal reasons or for other specific business-related reasons or purposes, are grouped together. Organizational units include legal company entities, sales offices, profit centers, etc. Organizational units handle specific business functions.
Organizational units may be assigned to a single module (such as a sales organization assigned to Sales and Distribution (SD) module, or to several modules (such as a plant assigned to Materials Management (MM) and Production Planning (PP) module).
SAP R/3 system can represent a complex enterprise structure. Its flexibility can integrate the structure of an enterprise by linking its organizational unit. Enterprise structure design is a fundamental process in a SAP implementation project. The design is mainly determined by the business scenarios performed in an enterprise. Once the design is determined, it will affect many things such as how to perform a transaction and generate reports on SAP system. Although itu2019s possible, it requires great effort to change the enterprise structure. So , we must ensure that the enterprise structure designed in the SAP implementation project can accommodate all business scenarios and enterpriseu2019s requirements for current and future situation.
A Client is the highest-level element of all organizational units in SAP R/3 system. The client can be an enterprise group with several subsidiaries. An SAP client has its own master data (Data which is used long-term in the R/3 System for several business processes such as customers, materials, and vendors master data). In SAP, a client is represented by a unique 3-digit number.
A Company Code is a unit included in the balance sheet of a legally-independent enterprise. Balance sheets and Profit and Loss statements, required by law, are created at company code level. The Company Code is the smallest organizational unit for which we can have an independent accounting department within external accounting, for example, a company within a corporate group (client). In SAP, a company code is represented by a unique 4-digit alpha-numeric for a specific client. It is the central organizational element of Financial Accounting. At least there is one company code in a client. We can set up several company codes in one client in order to manage various separate legal entities simultaneously, each with their own balanced set of financial books. Besides company code, in FICO module there is also another important organizational unit which is Controlling Area. The Controlling Area is the business unit where Cost Accounting is carried out. Usually there is a 1:1 relationship between the controlling area and the company code. For the purpose of company-wide cost accounting, one controlling area can handle cost accounting for several company codes in one enterprise.
A plant is the place of production or simply a collection of several locations of material stocks in close physical proximity. A plant is represented by a unique 4-digit alpha-numeric for a specific client. Plant is used in Material Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), and Plant Maintenance (PM) module. A plant is assigned to one company code.
A Storage Location is a storage area comprising warehouses in close proximity. A Storage Location is represented by a unique 4-digit alpha-numeric for a specific plant. Material stocks can be differentiated within one plant according to storage location (inventory management). Storage locations are always created for a plant.

  • Enterprise Structure Modification (PA & PSA)

    Hi Experts,
After implementing our system the HR requirements changed from having 1 Public holiday Calendar to Having 2 deferent Public holiday Calendars for Shift Workers and Non-Shift Workers. As I understand that a PHC can be attached to the PSA and the only way of achieving the requirement is to change our enterprise structure to reflect the correct PA and PSA to attach the corresponding PHC.
Is my understanding correct? and if I have to change the enterprise structure (PA & PSA) then what do I have to take into consideration u201CFortunately we have almost the same groupings for all employeesu201D? and finally how can I correct the employee records to reflect the new PA & PSA?
    Thanks,
    Abdulrahman

    Dear Sikindar,
I am really sorry if I confused you, the case is as follows:
    We have the below WSR:
    1) 4WK-GRP1 (Shift)
    2) 4WK-GRP2 (Shift)
    3) 4WK-GRP3 (Shift)
    4) 4WK-GRP4 (Shift)
    5) AFTN (Shift)
    6) MORN (Shift)
    7) NGHT (Shift)
    8) SEC GRP1 (Shift)
    9) SEC GRP2 (Shift)
    10) GEN
    11) GSRM
WSR 1 to 9 are going to be using PHC for Shift while WSR 10 & 11 are going to use PHC for Non-Shift. and for that we will be creating the new PA's and PSA's and assigning the new PHC for Non-Shift.
Also WSR 1 to 9 if used in a PSA where the Non-Shift PHC is assigned then they should follow the Non-Shift PHC which is usually happen during Emergency shutdowns.
All I am worried about is creating the new PA's and PSA's and the effect on my system and the employees records, I am not that worried about generating and assigning WSR since I think I can manage it without problems.
    Thanks again,
    Regards,

  • Changement in the assignment of Enterprise Structure.

    Please Help me...
Is possible to change the attribution make in the Enterprise Structure?
    Example:
I have two Company Code with the respective Plant and Storage.
I'd like delete the assignnment of a Plant from a Company Code and create again a new assignment of this Plant to another Company Code.
    Is it possible?
    Is it correct ?'
    Are there substantial
    Thank you
    Help me!!!!!!!

    Hi,
Yes... I do believe.... it is not advicable to delete an assignment from a live system.
It may have adverse effect. If not a live system, you can delete a plant from a company code provided all the other organisational assignment to the plants are reversed. Example: Plant to Purchasing Org, Plant to Divion, Plant to Sales org/distibution channel... etc.

  • SAP Enterprise  Structure for Plant Maintenance Module

    hi,
please explain me SAP Enterprise  Structure for Plant maintenance (PM) module.

    Hi,
As SAP PM enterprise structure comprises of Company, Maintenance Planning plant & Maintenance Plant. Company will be defined in Financial Accounting. Production plant will be the maintenance plant. Seperate plant would be created as Maintenance Planning Plant. All the plants (Maintenance Planning plant & Maintenance Plant) should be assigned to the company. All the maintenance plants should be assigned to Maintenance Planning Plant. For all the Maintenance Plants, technical objects would be created.
Company --> Maintenance Planning Plant --> Maintenance Plant.
Relation between Maintenance Planning Plant & Maintenance Plant will be 1:1 or 1:n or n:1.

So my question how to design logistic enterprise structure for construction business" and how to integrate these with PS
Edited by: Raghavendra Balegar on Jul 2, 2009 6:29 AM

    Dear
    1) Each project you can consider as a plant ( where u can valuate the stock at plant level),
    2) and difeerent storage locations under plants depends on your material types like ROH,HALB,ERSA,FERT...ect
3)purchase organisations like if have a contracts create one referance pur.org and if require create one more pur.org at local purchases
4)PS consultant has to create each project as WBS element ,under WBS element networks, under networs activities
    5) PS-MM integration
When ever Project people requires material as per their planning, they required to accocate the material to particulat activity say if they want cement they need to allocate cement to particulat activity ,
system intern will raise PR at activity level and reservation at newwork level ( item categoty should be L in PS)
base on the PR , purchasing people can create RFQ or PO ,GR,IR Like MM standard Procedure (PR account assignment will be Q orP)
based on the resevation GI will be done (m.type 281 Q)

  • Plant Name change

    Hi Friends
I want to change the Name of an existing Plant due to some legal requirements.
How do I change it ?
What are the precautions I need to take & will there be any other impact ?
Please guide me to proceed further.
    Thanks

    Hi Geeta,
    Hi,
    1. Go to SPRO ->Enterprise Structure-> Definition-> Logistics General->Define copy delete check plant-
Here select define plant, here you can change the name of your plant.
    2. SPRO -> Enterprise Structure -> Definition -> MM -> Maintain Storage Location
enter your plant & change it .
Changing the Name alone should not have any impact within SAP as all the processes in SAP use the Plant Code.
As far as the legalities are concerned, you are already specifying that you have to change because of Legal requirements....
    hope it helps.....

    Hi Priya,
The Enterprise Structure represents the structure of a company according to personnel administrative, time management and payroll perspectives. The company structure describes elements of the company and there dependencies.
The 'Organizational Units' in SAP, are the elements or structures representing the business functions, and are used in reporting. for example, Client (across the various modules), Company Code (FI), Controlling area (CO), Plant (logistics), sales organization (SD), Purchasing organization (MM), Employee Group (HR) etc.

  • Enterprise structure

    Dear friends,
    Iam Implimenting SAP.
Company gets order from customer for setting up power plant, Our client manufactures all the connected mat like turbines, switch gear, compressors ,,etc.
These are manufactured at each unit respectively in same compound. Each unit is having raw material store, finished stor, semi finshed store,
there are 2 common material stores used by all the units, each store is having raw material stores/returns stores, dispatch stores, finished stores, cut to sizes shop where all material is cut to sizes. This cut to size is also within the store.
How to map this scenario as enterprise structure.
How cut to store in Store is mapped.whether stores like return stores, semifinished stores, raw material ,dispacth store all are defined as stores. These common stores are to defined under which plant.
Whether the intermediatory store is also defined as one store.each plant materials is procured by one pur org.and common stores materials are procured by 3 other purchase organisations.
    How to define enterprise structure.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Cheruku.Dayanand

if ur plant is using the material which is procured by many organizations then i think u need to go through the funda of reference purh. org. and standard pur. org
that is if ur plant is assigned to no. of org. then u have to assign some of them to ur plant and assign 1 of them as standard org
and if some head office or centralized org. is also involved in procurement for plant then assign that one as refrence org. for u r plant level org.
and i belive u need to look from wherehouse management point of view because in mm u only have storage location but if go in depth then go for wherehouse management

  • Configuration of Enterprise Structure...

    Hi all,
We have just finished blueprint phase and need to start configuration. I am supposed to start configuration of Company code, business area, personnel area, subarea, cost centers and wage types.
We do not have FI implemented and so we need to create comp. code ourselves. Earlier my FI consultant always created comp codes and bus. areas. I am planning to go to IMG - enterprise str. Definition and comp. code and copy existing to the new one.. Is this the right process. If so, after i do this, what other changes do i need to do...
    Please suggest.

  • Mapping of enterprise structure

    Dear Experts,
Right now i am doing implementation project in aluminium metal plant. Now we are in the 2nd phase of the project. So i have to map the enterprise structure of the plant.
There are main 5 departments in the plant GAP,BAKE OVEN,RODDING,POTROOM,CASTING.Here all the departments finished products are interrelated, like GAP finished goods will go to BAKE OVEN. BAKE OVEN finished goods will go to RODDING.RODDING finihed goods will move to POTROOM.POTROOM molten metal will move to CASTHOUSE,and finally metal from CASTHOUSE will go to customers.
So here how can i map this scenario, like i have to create 5 plants for 5 departments or 5 sections?
    Regards,
    Prashantha

    Greetings Prashantha,
You need to approach this from a functional perspective. Define what is the Plant in SAP. A Plant is a location, which has an address, a language, time zone etc. and for this Plant the maintenance is planned as a whole on some level. Many configurations in PM are done on Plant level. Also, note that the Material Master data is maintained on Plant level.
So taking this all into account, consider whether those elements are different for the 5 Departments you mention? I would venture a guess "no". Your departments will have distinct Functional Location hierarchy branches, distinct Planner Groups, their own Work Centres, perhaps their own Storage Locations, but I assume they will have the same processes, the same Company Code, the same high-level Maintenance Planning Plant, the same Order Types. So it is probably reasonable to use Plant Sections, Planner Groups etc. to differentiate below the Plant level.
But of course, this is dependent on your business and how it is organised.
