Plant assignment to another comany code

Hi
I had created one plant and assigned to company code. Now this company code no longer in use. Another company code was created.
But with refernce to plant data  only PO need to create (like cost center and all).
In this case, how can we use this plant data for new company code..is i possible ??
please suggest

Dear,
Before reading rest - please remember, once you deleted PLANT A - COMPANY CODE A relation, you will not find this relation again in system. Once you assign new PLANT A - COMPANY CODE B relation - this only valid for rest.
Secondly, try this in quality system and check throughly and possibly go for cross functional testing also.
You can delete the assignment entry for that particular plant & company code.
Go to:SPRO->Enterprise Structure->Logistics-General->Assign Plant to Company Code.
Over here, select the particular plant-company code assignment entry you want to delete & hit the delete button. Then save this.
Go to the sam e path once again, click on "new entries" and maintain the plant to company code assignment. Save this entry.
Now your plant gets dettached from the previous company code and gets re-assigned to the new company code.

Syed Hussain.

  • Is it possible to assign existing plant to different new company code

    Hello,
we have created one company code  and two plants A001 and A002 plants.  Both plants are having some entries.(created So. PO. scheduling agreements )
Now business decided that ,they want to assign A002 plant to another company code. Is it possible to add this to new company code.
Before   A000 company code was having two plants A001 and A002.
Is it possible to Add A002 plant to Different company code?

    sapman

    Hi,
If u assign the same existing plant to another company code then it will lead to inconsistencies since there will be old and new purchasing documents created for that plant even after " clearing" your open  pur documents like PO,GR,IR sched agmt etc
so I think the best way is to
    1. close all existing open entries in that plant
    2. create a new plant in other company code by copying the old one
    3. Assign new plant to diff co code
    4. To stop further transactions in it just De activate old plant  and also by doing this previous  "Transaction History remains intact" -
    5. Extend required Material Masters for this new plant in diff co code
    Hope this helps u !

  • Assigning existing G/L account to another company code

I have been asked to assign an existing G/L account, which belongs to Company code A to another Company code B. G/L account is created at Chart of accounts level.
Is there a way to do it without having to create the G/L account again for Company code B?
    Please reply at the earliest.
    Thanks.

    Hi
You can either copy from one company code to another. Or selective use the required accounts.
OBY2 is copying from one CC to another.
For the other Go to IMG-GL accounting (new)-Master data- GL accounts-Gl accounts creation processing-Change GL accounts collectively - Chane CC data.
    Hope this works.

  • Assignment of same chart of account to the comany code having diff currency

    Dear Experts,
At presently we are having three company codes and all three company codes are using single Chart of account. All the new existing three company codes are using currency INR. Now we would like implement sap for two new location. we are looking for two new company codes. One location is USA and another UK. Therefore for USA company code the currency would be USD and GBP in case of UK location.
Now I would like to know can I use the same chart of account for the two new comany codes which we are already using for the three company codes?
    Regards
    Paul

    Hello,
You will get the report in local currency.
You may please run the report in F.01, you will find the difference. You can pick up currency in the layout from hidden fields to visible fields.
Please note that normally P&L and BS is presented per company code.

  • Reassign Plants from one company code to another company code

    Hi Gurus,
We need to move plants from the current company code to a new company code. I know this is possible in configurartion, however, I not sure on what implications this may cause to the new company code. We are looking for a way to not creating new plants under the company code, and we believe reassign plants to the new company is the best way.
Could you please let me know what might be the impact on this? on Finance? etc...
    Thanks in advance,
    Richard

To me, it is something alarming!!!
You are trying to assign the plants to new company codes after removing the assignment from the other company code. In my opinion you need to first consult a MM and a FI specialist and not a SD specialist.
In the old assignment, there might be transactions done (for example goods movement, different material documents etc..). If you assign the plant to new company code, then how will you retrieve the old historical documents? I don't think even if you archive the documents,  you could retrieve after assigning the plant to new company code.
I would suggest, think twice before you do anything/do enough testing in development system, or consult with MM/FI personnel or consult SAP before reassigning the plant.

  • Best Practice for Acquisition of Utility Plant Assets from another utility

My company is located in the United States and will be taking on an initiative of purchasing the Utility Plant assets from another company.  We are governed by Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Accounting Standards.  In the guidance for the accounting where one utility purchases the assets of another utility, it states that the purchasing company must account for the Utility Plant Assets in FERC Account 102 at a net book value until FERC approval is received on the sale of the other utility.  Depreciation must be calculated based on the Gross Book Value and applied to this same FERC Account.  What must happen in order to track the assets is that the asset's APC Value and the Depreciation Value must transfer from the utility selling the Plant Assets balance sheet to the utility purchasing the Plant Assets balance sheet respectively.
    As an example:
Utility ABC is selling their plant assets to Utility XYZ.  The NBV of the plant assets is $60,000,000.  It is broken down to Debit $80,000,000 for the APC Value (in FERC account 101 on Utility ABC's balance sheet) and credit $20,000,000 associated to Depreciation Value (in FERC account 108 on Utility ABC's balance sheet).  When the sale is pending FERC approval the NBV is accounted for on Utility XYZ's balance sheet in FERC account 102.  This amount will be processed to the selling Utility on a PO for the purchase.
I have configured the Fixed Asset module of SAP to account for the APC Value and the Depreciation Value in separate sub accounts of FERC account 102, that are se-up as reconciliation accounts on the G/L, in the account assignment of the respective asset classes.  we track our assets based on asset class that pertain to the FERC Primary Plant Accounts.
I am trying to load the assets to the Fixed Asset module having the APC Value and the Depreciation Value reported respectively.  If the NBV amount is processed on the PO, what would be the best practice to load the  APC Value and Depreciation Value to the respective assets?
My first thought would be to process the PO for the NBV of the assets against a generic FERC Account 102, that is not set-up as a reconciliation account.  I would then process an asset transaction using t-code ABSO with transaction type 158 and use the generic FERC account 102 as the Offsetting Account in the entry and using Document Type AA.
I would like to follow best practice in this scenario.
You help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your response.
I hope I can provide some clarity on how the accounting needs to be handle per FERC  Regulations.  The G/L balance on the utility that is selling the assets will be in the following accounts (standard accounts across all FERC Regulated Utilities):
101 - Acquisition Value for the assets
108 - Accumulated Depreciation Value for the assets
For an example, there is Debit $60,000,000 in FERC Account 101 and a credit $30,000,000 in FERC Account 108.  When the purchase occurs, the net book value for the asset will be on our G/L in FERC Account 102.  Once we have FERC Approval to acquire the plant assets, we will need to enter the Acquisition Value and associated Accumulated Depreciation onto our G/L to FERC Account 101 and FERC Account 108 respectively with an offset to FERC Account 102.
The method that I came up with is to purchase the NBV of the assets to a clearing account.  I then set up account assignments that will track the Acquisition Value and respective Accumulated Depreciation for each asset that is being purchased.  I load the respective asset values using t-code AS91 and then make an entry to the 2 respective accounts with the offset against the clearing account using t-code OASV.  Once my company receives FERC approval, I will transfer the asset to new assets that has the account assignments for FERC Account 101 and FERC Account 108 using t-code ABUMN or FB01.

  • Sales using plan from another company code

    Hello Gurus,
will you please provide some detail about customizing " inter-company sales processing", mainly about how to get plant from another company code?
    thanks very much!

    Hi
explaining you in brief, the basic requirments for intercompany sales is,
Both the company codes should belong to the same company
The material should be existing in both the company codes
    Configuration Settings :
    1. The material should be extended to the Ordering company and while extending the plant and storage location should be maintained same(that of Delivering)
    2. An Internal Customer should be created in the Delivering Company Code. Use the Delivering Company code and ordering sales area.
    3. In the path IMG - Sales and Distribution - Billing - Intercomapny Billing -
        1. Define Order types for Intercompany Billing - where you have to assign the Billing type IV to the sales Order types.
        2. Assign Organisational units by plant - where you have to assign the Delivering plant to the ordering sales area
3.Define Internal Customer number by Sales Organisation - where you have to assign the Internal Customer number to the ordering sales organisation
In addition to this you have to define the plant as the Delivering Plant by maintaining the assignment of plant to Sales Organisation and Distribution Channel (of Ordering in enterprise structure)
Now you can create an order and in that you have to change the plant manually and save.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

  • Sales order ,delivery in one co.code and a/c  in another co.code

client is having two co.code. named 2500 and 3500 . 3500 is producing and transfering to 2500. sales is happening with 2500 sales area that is 2500/01/01 and delivery is also from 2500 plant. but during invoice account should be posted in to 3500 accounts. bcoz this material is belongs to 3500 and it has to be accounted seperately...

    HI
i dont think you can invoice from the compacy cod you are supplying the reason being the sales area which has sold the materials wlll be assigned to a different company code whereas the material produced will be in another company code, as already suggested you can transfer the GL from your selling cod to your production Cod since both hav same group chart of accounts.
    Hope this Helps.

  • MM STO between Plants under the same company code

    Hi experts,
Please guide on the configuration steps for doing STO between Plants unders the same company code.
We have company code 100 in that Plants A B & C are theie. Each Plant can do STO to other Plant.
    How to configure this scenario?

    Dear,
    Please follow bellow path
    1. Create a vendor for the Company code of the receiving plant using account group 0007 via T-Code XK01.
    2. In the purchasing data view assign the supplying plant and the schema group
    3. Create customer with the sales area of the vendor.
    4. The shipping conditions, the delivering plant and the transportation zone determine the route in the STO.
    5. In the pricing procedure determination relevant to the STO assign document pricing procedure and customer pricing procedure to get the pricing in the invoice.
    6. Maintain condition records for pricing condition.
    7. Maintain carrier as a partner in the customer master.
    8. In OMGN select the supplying plant and assign the company code and sales area. Similarly select the receiving plant and assign the company code and sales area (The company code to which the plant is assigned to).
    9. Assign the delivery type and checking rule to the document type.
    10. And finally, assign the purchasing document type to the supplying plant and the receiving plant.
    11. Create the STO using T-Code ME 21N and save.
    12. Check for release strategy if any and release using T-Code ME 28.
    13. Create delivery in background using VL10G.
    14. If delivery is created, it is an indication of correct configuration and master data creation.
Stock transfer between two plants in different company codes is known as inter company stock transfer.
Material should be maintained in both supplying and receiving plant MM01
Stock should maintain only in supplying plant MB1C
Create receiving plant as a customer in supplying plants company code and sales area XD01
Assign this customer number in receiving plant details OMGN
Assign supplying sales area in supplying plant details OMGN
Assign delivery type NB for in combination of supplying/ receiving plants.
    Create STO ME21N
As it is normal there in the item details we should get shipping date i.e. customer number
    Go for Delivery VL10B
    Shipping point *****
    Select PO go for execute
then select the delivery then go for delvy ............create delvy,,,, delvy number generated.
    Goods Issue VL02
    Delvy doc **********
    Click on picking
    enter the picking qty
    Click on PGI
in the mean time check in the PO history you will get the details
    Goods receipt MIGO
Stock transfers that include deliveries and billing documents/invoices are only possible between plants belonging to different company codes.
If you want to carry out a cross-company-code stock transport order with delivery but without a billing document, you must set the Relevant for Billing (data element FKREL) indicator in Customizing of the item type to "blank" (Not relevant for billing).
The following applications are involved in this type of stock transfer:
? Purchasing (MM-PUR) in entering the order
? Shipping (LE-SHP) in making the delivery from the issuing plant
? Billing (SD-BIL) in creating the billing document for the delivery
? Inventory Management (MM-IM) at goods receipt in the receiving plant
Invoice Verification (MM-IV) at invoice receipt in the receiving
Transfer of goods from one location to another location, it may be between plants within the same company code or in different company code's plants.
within the company code, but plants,
receiving plant will raise the STO in Supplying/issuing plant-ME21n,
Supplying plant will deliver the goods to receiving plants ,
then we need to pick n post the Goods Issue-VL02n,
now when we can observe that the STO qty will be added into receiving plant and reduced in Delivering plant,
To do this, we need do prior customization in SPRO-IMG,-
material should be created in both plants( receiving & Supplying)
-maintain the stock only in supplying plant
-create a dummy customer in supplying plant's sales area(if u have one sales area, create in tat comp code n sales area)
-assign this customer number to receiving plant's details along with the sales area,
-Assign the STO doc type(UB) to Supplying plant, along with checking rule
-Assign the Del type (NL/NLCC) to Supplying n receiving plant.
    Stock Transport Order:

  • Third-party not defined in the case of vendor with plant assignment ?

We use a Third-Party Vendor to direct-ship some products directly to our Customers.
When transfers third party order form's PR STO PO, prompts the following information
Third-party not defined in the case of vendor with plant assignment
    Message no. 06769
    Diagnosis
You are entering a purchase transaction involving a vendor to whom a plant has been assigned. Normally, this will involve the transfer of materials from one plant to another.
This process necessitates a delivery and a billing document in the SD system. The PO appears directly in the delivery due list of the issuing plant (vendor) and therefore does not need to be transmitted.
However, an item with the procurement form "third-party" (triangular business deal) cannot appear in the delivery due list.
    Procedure
An item with the procurement form "third-party" can only be ordered from vendors without a plant assignment.
    how should solve?
    Many thanks,  Adny.

  • Message on WCS/NCS: Attempted to use IP Address assigned to another device

    Hi
i have two WLCs AIR-CT5508-K9, monitored by WCS (in retiring stage) and NCS.
All APs are grouped in HREAP groups based on their locations. The wireless users are getting ip from a dhcp pool running on routers located at each site. All dhcp commands on every routers are the identical. Eg. rtr1, located on site 1 has ip pool for wifi users 192.168.8.0/24. Rtr2 on site 2 has a ip pool for wifi users in range 192.168.8.0/24. Occasionally i am getting bellow message when some wifi users are unable to connect. After creating a HREAP group and associating APs to correct group, this message stops showing for a while but now i am getting them again.
The temp solution to get it all running is to clear ip dhcp pool on router located at affected site.
Any suggestions for a better solution?
    Thanks

    endpoint,
You are locally switching your networks, yes, but even without HREAP and WLCs, they are still connected networks in your overall topology, correct? I would never have site A with a given network that overlaps with a network in site B. With few exceptions, they should be completely separate, unique, non-overlapping network spaces. HREAP doesn’t even come into it.
The problem you’re likely having is that the WLC is seeing clients coming in from two different sites and because you are duplicating your configurations from site to site, the WLC sees duplicate IP assignment.
That said, you can try to turn off client IP address learning on the WLAN Advanced tab to see if that helps.

  • Moving a Plant to a new company code

    Hi,
Does anyone have experience of moving a Plant from one company code to another in a "live" syste.
We are about to make some major changes to certain company codes and so new company codes will be required.
    We have two options
The safe option - to create new plants and do all of the configuration and master data extensions etc. (a HUGE task)
The easy option - Unlink the Plant from the current company code and link it to the new company code (a HUGE risk)
The safe option is not realy available to us in the timescales we have and so I need to know if anyone has tried the other option in a live system?
I know that there are lots of things to consider (such as stocks and open POs etc.)  but these things can be handled and probably a lot easier than configuring new plants etc.
    Thanks
