Play a video in-app independently from in-app or extern music?

Hi there,
The app has in-app music which can be switched off by the user, e.g. if he rather listens to his own music. In the near future, tutorial-videos will be added to the app. These videos don't have and need any sound themselves. The problem is that apple only allows one audio- and videostream at a time - but how about independent audio- and videostreams? It'd be perfect if it were possible to just play the in-game music without interruption while the user watches, pauses or ends the video, as if it were independent, or if he could listen to his own music without having silence while the video is playing or any kind of interruption. The second option - to implement music into the video so it isn't silent - would be the last option, because it would mean that user-music or in-app music - whichever the user prefers - would have to stop playing to play music the user decided not to listen to or at another position on the same or a similar track.

The weird thing is that I downloaded the film from iTunes and while it was downloading I was watching it with my kids on my IMac. Once it had finished downloading I went with them to the living room Tao carry on watching on our apple tv. The apple TV wouldn't play it and said I needed to authorise my Pc, then the IMac gave the message above and I haven't been able to play it since. All my other downloaded films play. I have the same problem. Been trying to find some answers, but not a lot of info about this. It seems to happen only when:
- itunes library is stored remote (NAS or external HD)
- starting a movie/show before download has finished will make it fail next time you try to start
Hope this gets fixed soon.. it's making purchasing content via itunes a hassle

I experinced this when I tried to watch a YouTube video. What I did was restart the iPad and it should work. If it does not work, try doing hard reset, by holding the home and wake/sleep button, ignore the red slider, until the apple logo appears.

Firefox will not play .ogv video files when loaded from a server. Does anyone have any answers that will fix this?

I've read the suggestions for fixing this, and none of them work. I've updated my .htaccess to match MIME types for .ogv, I've uploaded the files as both Binary and ASCII, neither method works. The .ogv file plays fine when you load it from a local file, but it will not play when viewed from a remote server. I've confirmed with my hosting company that the .htaccess and all other issues for HTML5 are up-to-date. Safari and Chrome play the HTML5 videos just fine, but Firefox will not. Does anyone have any concrete answers as to what the problem is. I'm also serving up the video files as .webm and .mp4, but neither of these formats works in Firefox either.

That can happen if the server isn't configured properly to send the files with a by Firefox supported MIME type.

Did you check via the Web Console which headers Firefox receives when requesting the .ogv file?
If that is OK then it is possible that the file is using an unsupported coding method.

IPhoto cannot play the videos that i uploaded from my iPhone 4s

I just bought a Macbook pro and loaded my videos from my iPhone 4s to iPhoto but I get an error message that quicktime cannot play the .mov

But if you want show both of them, modify as following

My Macbook Air (still with Lion) will not play .avi video files (brought over from an older PC where they play with another viewer). This site implies Quicktime Player should be able to do so. Is there a codec or something else I'm supposed to download?

I had found this through other threads, but it is what worked, even allowed my AVI files to be played in PowerPoint. Changing to 32-bit encryption did not work, BTW.

ITunes 9.2.1 still not playing purchased video - Gray screen

I suggest that you call them (you can set up an appointment from the support page.) I had the same issue, and after several calls and emails eventually a surprisingly high level engineer got back to me and was able to fix the problem within a couple of hours. I had the same lack of response through the iTunes email support. They are obviously fixing this for some folks, so maybe if you can get to a human on the phone you'll have better luck. Emphasize how long you've been waiting for a response and that you know others have had the problem fixed. I think the customer service ethic at Apple is strong and so hopefully you'll get a response. Good luck!

Thank you for that, I wanted to make sure I was trying to replicate the same thing as you. Just tried it now, works fine for me.
Of note though, this will take a relatively well performing network to achieve this, I have such a network, if your network is not as good as it might be, you might encounter problems.
For the avoidance of doubt, I used the remote app on my phone to get my iTunes library on my computer to stream music to 3 of my Apple TVs, I then used the remote app to control another Apple TV and get it to stream a music video from my computer to it. Of interest I managed to do this while my wife was using yet another Apple TV (not with the remote app) to watch something else from iTunes on my computer.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help try adding a new video to your Camera Roll. Perhaps the update process caused the problem. If a new video plays correctly then reload your older videos from your backup.
Perhaps some other users can provide more assistance.

you might need codecs on you pc. i find vlc player and codecs is perfect for music and videos.
