Play FLV after another without blinking

Hello, I hope you can help me with this one, please.
I have a flv player on stage, along with several buttons. Everytime I press a button, I change the flv file played by the flv player.
I would like to make the transition seamless - since the last frame of the first video is identical to the first frame of the second video, the second flv would start right away. However, the flv player blinks between a video and another, probably because it is loading the local file. Is there a way around that?
Thank you so much!

Hi,
This may be too simple and I am not 100% that it will work for you, but here goes!
Put all your movies together in a video editing program to create one large(ish) video.
Then when you are creating the FLV file use the cue points to add actions such as pausing automatically and playing again when a button is pressed.
I'd guess that you can set different buttons to start playing from different cue points.
Cheers
Tim

    Sorry that's not possible.

  • How can I make my movies to play one after another automatically?

    I couldn't find the settings to play all my movies one after another.
    Any idea?

    Given the number of threads bemoaning the lack of such features (mostly for music videos) and countless enhancement requests sent here:

    ..and the lack of the facility being added in over a year make me think it's unlikely to ever happen but I'd love ot be proved wrong!

  • Linking songs in itunes to be played one after another, even in shuffle

    Hey guys I've been looking around for an answer to this question and still no luck. I dont think its possible but Ill ask anyway. Im trying to link songs togther so that they will always be played one after the other even during shuffle mode. For example, some songs are always meant to played one after the other, such as "We Will Rock You>We Are the Champions" by Queen, or "Golden Slumbers>Carry That Weight>The End" by The Beatles. Anyone know if this is possible somehow? I can make them play gaplessly but that only does anything if shuffle is off.

    The answer is to *Join CD Tracks* before you import them into your library.
    When you insert a CD into your disc drive and it shows up in iTunes (for importing) highlight the tracks (which need to be adjacent of course) and select *Advanced/Join CD Tracks.* You can join all three Beatles tracks. Once they are joined, then you can import them into the library. So you will have to import these tracks again (and remove the originals, if you wish).
    Note that you cannot join them after importation.

  • Play flv after 10 seconds of inactivity

    Hi,
    hope someone can put in the right direction...
    I have 3 flv videos that I want to play if the user doesn't move the mouse in 10 seconds....
    (I don't want all of them to play, I want to select a random flv video to play each time)
    at the moment I am just playing the video without any of the above happening:
    var video:Video = new Video();
    addChild(video);
    var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
    nc.connect(null);
    var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
    ns.client = {onMetaData:ns_onMetaData, onCuePoint:ns_onCuePoint};
    video.attachNetStream(ns);
    ns.play("truck-driving.flv");
    function ns_onMetaData(item:Object):void {
    trace("metaData");
    // Resize video instance.
    video.width = item.width;
    video.height = item.height;
    // Center video instance on Stage.
    video.x = (stage.stageWidth - video.width) / 2;
    video.y = (stage.stageHeight - video.height) / 2;
    Would it be best to stream the video or import it into a movieclip? Not sure really the best way to go about it.
    Any help/guidance?
    Thank you!

  • Playing movies in Front Row one after another automatically?

    I have a number of short video clips that I can watch with Front Row. However, every time a clip ends, I have to go and click “play” on the next clip and this is annoying. I am wondering if there is a way to make movies play one after another without stopping. Thanks for the help!

    David,
    Thanks for the help. I'm still thinking there must be SOME way to pull this off. It seems like Mac's can do just about anything if you take the time to figure it out. Why wouldn't the people who designed Front Row not add this feature? It doesn't make any sense. There has to be a way. Anybody else have any ideas?

  • Is it possible to play one music video after another in itunes/front row?

    Hi all. Can anyone help me with this problem? When I use the movie part of front row to watch and listen to music vids I have front row goes back to the movie menu after each video has ended. Is it at all possible to watch one video after another without having to scroll down to the next music video after each music video has finished playing? Not sure if im being incredibly dense but any help would be greatly appreciated. I have Apple Care and they have no idea what im on about!
    Thanks Rob

    I've been doing some experimenting on this. I made a smart playlist in iTunes to gather all my music videos (which I have previously tagged with 'VIDEO' in the comment field).
    In Frontrow, iTunes will not play the video at all- it just shows a single frame and plays the audio; in Movies, music videos, it will play one music video correctly, but then go back to the music video menu. This seems to be a known problem.
    My solution is to go back to the desktop and use iTunes in the old fashioned way! Selecting my new VIDEO smart playlist will play all my music videos in any order I like using the normal parameters i.e. random, alphabetical by artist, album, name etc..
    Hope this helps.

  • Songs Skip Forward One After Another/Sporadic and Out of Nowhere

    I have an older IPOD 40g that skips through songs, one after another, without playing anything, and seems to do it in any mode, especially in overall Shuffle mode. I have the "shuffle Songs" feature on, but other than that, it has a pretty standard set up.
    I have restored to the defaults, last week, and it started doing the wierd stuff again today.
    Sometimes I have a hard time getting it to unfreeze and reset as well.
    I appreciate any help.

    Have you tried Party Shuffle? If you control click on a track, you can choose "Play Next In Party Shuffle". I often listen the way you're describing. I start listening in Party Shuffle (which I have set to select from a specific playlist). When I am reminded of another song, I select the song and then choose Play Next in Party Shuffle. And so on.
    As for your second question, you could try moving your entire short playlist into Party Shuffle. Once that playlist was done, Party Shuffle would revert to it's normal selection criteria (you could set it to pull from your entire library or a specific playlist). Music would keep playing.
    Can you tell I like Party Shuffle?

    Video playlists won't work on the iPhone, just the regular iPods such as the classic.

  • Appending videos one after another

    Salutations everybody.
    I need to use a MediaPlayer to play multiple video and / or audio files one after the other.
    The idea is that the user will select all the video he wants to hear and then hit the 'Play' button. Then I need to play all those videos in order, one after the other. That is, as soon as one video is done I want to begin playing the next video and so on.
    I assume this can be done ? Anyone can help me on the how to ?
    Thanx !

    The videos must also be checked. I had unchecked them so that they would not be transferred to my iPod that won't play them. It wasn't until I checked them and did the other things in this thread that the videos began to play one after another.
    I would like this to work when the videos are being played at full screen. But I can't seem to get that to work at all.

  • How to "chain" two or more FLV video's so one plays after another?

    We want to "chain" multiple FLV video's on the same web page.
    We can combine them in my video editor but the resulting file is over 30 minutes long.
    But, I'm hopeful that we can do this using code in the web page so...
    1 - We convert each AVI video to FLV video and then "publish" it locally to get the associated files.
    2 - Then combine the HTML as necessary to have one video play right after the other.
    My question is how?
    Can I just...
    - copy the javascript AC_FL_RunContent code and change the 'name' and 'movie to be the name of the next video.
    - and then do the same thing for the object code?
    or is there a shorter or more easy way to do this?
    Finally, is this the best forum for Flash FLV questions?
    Thanks for any help on this.
    PS - I know some will want to know why we want to chain short videos instead of just making one long video but the explination is long and will bog down the discussion.

    Kglad,
    AS_3 I guess.
    That is the latest... right?
    I'm running Flash CS3 v9 and I guess it will run either... according to the opening screen.
    And since I haven't used Action Script before may as well start with the latest.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Embed question - play one movie after another

    I am trying to figure out how to play a short 10 second clip before each movie on my website. The clip may be a short ad or a promo and will depend upon the content of the main video. What is the code that enables you to play one move after another in a web page. I don't want to edit the two clips to become one cos over time the ads and promos will change. In Realplayer I remember using SMIL but how is it done in QT. I will eventually write code to write out the Embed tag but now i am just experimenting. Here is what my drupal site puts out
    <!-- start main content -->
    <!-- begin content -->
    <!--[if !IE]> <-->
    <object type="video/quicktime" width="483" height="381"

    </object>

    Download latest Quicktime Player

    Embed the initial movie clip as normal, but give it an HREF property.
    Set the source for the HREF to be the next movie, set autohref=true, and set target="myself". It's the same technique you use to build a poster movie but (a) instead of having the poster movie open QT Player, you have its target open in its own frame and (b) instead of waiting for a user to click the poster, you have the poster movie "click itself".
    Code that I used a very long time ago to display a "Loading..." graphic as a movie loaded (waste of effort, actually, as the movie is fast start and loads very fast):
    <embed
    src="loading.mov"
    height="208"
    width="256"
    autohref="true"
    href="Worm.mov"
    target="Myself">
    </embed>
    (of course this was before I learned about OBJECT and the need to use OBJECT to activate the ActiveX control in IE. Also, it's worth noting that the javascript hack isn't strictly necessary for IE users, but without it, IE users will get a security dialog before they get the movie.)

  • How do i get music videos to play like the music does on my ipad, for example one right after another and shuffle

    I need to know how I can get the music videos on my IPad to play like the music does.  What I mean id setting up a playlist, shuffle, and have them play one right after another instead of going back to the main screen.

    At the top of the playlist where it shows the playlist title and the number of songs, there are two icons. Click the "play" triangle to add the entire playlist to "Up Next", or the "shuffle" symbol to do the same thing but in random order. But the currently playing track will stop playing, and all the songs in "Up Next" will be removed (replaced by the ones from this playlist).
    If you hold down the "option" key while clicking those icons, the currently playing song will continue playing, and the new playlist will be added to "Up Next" (above the songs that were already there).
