Playbook not connecting to Internet via blackberry bridge

I am the owner of the playbook and love it everything's great. I recommend it to a couple of people and they are having problems.  The biggest one and reason for my cry out today is, I talked my aunt into the blackberry tablet as opposed to the kindle fire, because she is the owner of a blackberry smartphone from AT&T.  I told her how my phone connects through the bridge to get the Internet on the go without wifi, and as soon as I helped her set up her tablet with the new software she can not get the Internet through the blackberry bridge.  When I connect my blackberry smartphone to my play book I can still access the Internet without wifi so I'm  thinking its the update which I haven't done yet mine yet.  Can someone please help me, my aunt is older and depending on me and I have no clue what happened!  Thanks

AT&T require you to pay for their Internet tethering bolt on in order to use the browser etc via bridge.

Hi, this has worked for a few...
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.7…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    Click OK.
    Also, turn off IPv6:
    System Preferences » Network » AirPort » TCP/IP tab » Configure IPv6
    Or whatever Interface you use.

  • Thinkpad Laptop X4F -Will not connect to internet via wifi

I'm not computer savvy so please keep replies dummied down if at all possible. I used this laptop last on Friday and booted it today and cannot connect to the internet via wifi. No problems whatsoever before this. Checked with other computers and devices in the house and the wireless network and internet are working fine.
Checked this laptop and wifi is on (airplane mode off), says its connected to the router (in connections) but icon in tray just scrolls and says "identifying". Using the LAN works fine. Looked at wireless card and it says device is working properly and is fully updated.
This computer is running windows 8 which I'm still having trouble navigating through.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Have you tried turning off the Wifi and then back on? Windows 8 should have that if you press the start key and typing in Wi-Fi. Click on Settings when you search and something for connections should appear. Turn off WiFi then back on to see if that helps.

  • HTC Rezound Will not Connect to Internet via Mobile Network

    Hi,
I recently provided my phone to my youngest son so I went to Verizon and got a new sim card and had them set it up.  Everything worked for about a week or so.  Now the phone will not connect to the internet via the mobile network.  The only way he can connect to the internet is via the WiFi.
I have checked all settings and it all seems fine.  I also did 2 factory resets and still no go. I removed the Sim card, booted up phone and turned back off, re-installed the sim card and booted again.  Still same problem.  Signal strength is good but the 4g or 3g doesn't show up like it used to.  When I click on internet it says network not available and tries to bring up the WiFi.
Do I need a new Sim card?  Is the phone messed up?  Anyone have any idea?

I was having the exact same problem and it was driving me crazy. After reading some other threads, I removed my original SIM card and started up the phone until the home screen tells you the SIM card is missing (Emergency calls only). Switch it off, put the SIM card back in and restarted the phone. Got my mobile internet (4GLTE) coverage straight away.
Hope if works for you too!
    Good luck.

  • Imac will not connect to Internet via wifi or Ethernet since upgrade.

since the upgrade to Yosemite I am unable to connect to the Internet via wifi or Ethernet. All my other devices ipad/IPhone 6 work fine so issue is not with ISP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I Have tried starting in safe mode and my internet works fine. But I lose all connectivity after reboot into normal mode.

  • Tbox not connecting to internet via router

I installed the new Tbox this week. Once installed, I connected to my wireless FrtizBoz router and all was working fine. I went online and registered for Presto and after a short time Presto was available and we watched a couple of movies. The next day it was working fine into the afternoon but that evening we could not access Presto. A warning indicated no internet connection available and when I went to setup there was a red cross shoing no router connection. My home computer network and my Blueray player all access the internet via the same router and all are functioning correctly with full intenet access. When I go to the wifi setup, I see my router in the list, I can attemt to reconnect and I see the password I had entered previously. I tried rebooting the TBOX, the Router and re-entering the password but I cannot get the connection to work any more.  The wifi hardware is obviously operating as it can list the available routers (and mine is listed), but continues to give error of no internet access when attempting to connect. This thing lasted 24 hours and stopped. Nothing was changed in the router or the TBOX in that period. Any help much appreciated. please email [email protected] Regards David

Is this the reset where you press the reset button 5 times? In this case, will I need to set up the Presto accont user names and password again? The Router (FrtixBox) is sitting in the kitchen about 3m from the TBOX. The other 45 wifi devices are scattered around the house and all working perfectly fine.  When you say to use another wifi channel, do you mean I remove the router (I must disconnect it from internet to be able to plug into a computer) and then plug it into LAN port of computer and run the setup to change the channel in the router itself? If I do this, will the passwords set up on the other 5 devices still be valid for the new channel when I plug the trouter in again?

  • Airport Extreme 1st generation not connecting to internet via PPPoE.

The Extreme is replacing an existing Airport Express which successfully connects to the internet. I reset the Airport Extreme to the factory settings and started from there. The internet provider requires it be setup using PPPoE. I've tried several times to set up a new wireless network but the Airport Extreme isn't connecting to the internet, can't find DNS servers. I contacted the internet provider and confirmed that all settings/usernames/passwords are correct. I cycled the power on the DSL modem, unplugging it for several minutes a few times. Finally I took the whole setup to the local Genius Bar. Since they couldn't setup a PPPoE network there, the Apple Tech set up the Extreme using DHCP so we know it works. He suggested that I try replacing the wireless network instead of setting up a new network. I came home and tried that to the same results: no DNS servers and PPPoe not connecting to the internet. Everything in the Extreme is exactly the same as the Express except the Express works and the Extreme doesn't. What am I missing?
    Some background:
I purchased and used the Extreme in the US. Now trying to connect it to my MacBook in Canada. I did change the setting in the Extreme to "Canada"
I just the computer to 10.6.8. I ran the Disk Utility to repair the disk permissions several times.

If you temporarily connect the modem directly to your MacBook and set up a PPPoE connection on your Mac as a test......can it connect to the Internet that way?

  • MIcrocell not connecting to internet via Netgear c6300

the internet lights just blinks and blinks.  Everything else is solid green.  I even plugged the Microcell directly into the wall outlset to elimiate an AC issues via powerstrip.  Any thoughts, suggestions, or C6300 setting changes that you have seentaht will make my Microcell work?

Ok. That's good. The blinking green 3G light means you haven't established a secure VPN to the AT&T Mobility servers.
I will assume that you have created an account on the myAT&T MicroCell page and have put in the required information (the address where the MicroCell is located, which should be your cellular billing account address) and the cellular phone number associated with that account, which we call the primary account number.
The instructions say wait up to 90 minutes but it's been my experience that it should be quicker than that. Initially is sounds like a router config issue. Unfortunately it will be up to you to check with your ISP on how to check and insure that the basic router requirements are being met. There are just too many routers, firmware versions, and home setups for AT&T or us to keep up with.
You could try a power cycle of both the router and the MicroCell to see if that helps. If not, come back.

  • Why wont"t my 15 inch Power Book not connect to internet via airport

I have a 15 inch titanium power book and I recently installed an airport card. The computer recognizes it but I still can't get it to connect to the airport network. My new 17 inch powerbook is on the network and works just fine.
The 15 inch pb does not recognize the network.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Tony
    the first thing is
What kind of network do you want to connect with?
I mean do you use an airport station?
and you could try something like "iStumbler" to find a network
sometimes you have to use the right IP and Subnet mask
you should copy that from your 17" PB
or maybe the network router is using a "secret" network
so you have to "allow" your MAC-adress and/or your IP to connect to the network...
or maybe you did not pluged in the antenna ..?
I hope this could help you
    bye idefix

  • My macbook pro is connected to internet via my time capsule but my iPad and iPhone won't. it shows wifi connection to the time capsule but when i go on to the internet on the iPad or iPhone, it comes up with network error. can anyone help?

my macbook pro is connected to internet via my time capsule but my iPad and iPhone won't. it shows wifi connection to the time capsule but when i go on to the internet on the iPad or iPhone, it comes up with network error. can anyone help?

This can be caused by a number of issues.
Was everything working and then suddenly stopped??
Or is this a new clean setup and has never worked.
Do you have a cable modem which is not a router and the TC setup in bridge? That will cause it. The TC must be in router mode, ie dhcp and nat.
Check the IP the MBP gets including dns and gateway..
Then check the ipad/iphone.. post what IP dns and gateway (router in applespeak) they get.

  • I would like to use my iPhone 6's wifi hotspot to provide Internet at home (I do not have home internet) via a Time Capsule which I currently use the TC simply as a home wifi network without Internet to enable things like printing wirelessly and back

I would like to use my iPhone 6's wifi hotspot to provide Internet at home (I do not have home internet) via a Time Capsule which I currently use the TC simply as a home wifi network without Internet to enable things like printing wirelessly and backing up data wirelessly via time machine.
I have a Mac Pro, iPhone 6, iPad, Apple TV and Time Capsule. No home Internet.
Is is possible to have my iPhone 6's wifi hotspot used to provide Internet to my wifi network on time capsule? Has anyone else had success doing this? I'm not a tech head and really know very little about things like this. Thanks. Jen

You can have a go using a wireless bridge.. eg the airport express will do this.. you can join it to the iphone wireless running as a hotspot.. and then plugged into the TC wan port.. the TC has to be setup in router mode.. so this is going to give you double NAT errors.. and of course errors for all the time the hotspot is turned off.. but it can work. However you might find it requires you to manually connect up each time.. If you are really going to try and do this you will manage it.. but how fiddly it becomes might put you off after a week.
You will chew up your 5GB very fast using any streaming media even radio. So be very careful to track the usage.
Apple should have built in the TC the ability to plug in a wireless 3G modem.. via the USB but Apple have ceased to do adventurous stuff.
If you give up the TC as main router there are plenty of better products on the market that will handle multiple wan connections.. !!

    Wi-Fi Setup Considerations
Things to consider before you begin
Start with a plan for the physical layout. Depending on whether you have an existing Wi-Fi network, or if you are using your AirPort Express as a standalone Wi-Fi device, there are several options available for you to choose from.
When using Ethernet, Cat6 cable is recommended.
The layout you choose should take into account environmental factors such as physical access, location, range, radio frequency interference, etc.
You will need to consider what AirPort Utility settings to adopt.
You will need to know whether you are using an AirPort Express (802.11b/g) or an AirPort Express (802.11a/b/g/n).
If you will be using more than one Wi-Fi base station, it may be helpful to read the article Extending the range of your wireless network by adding additional Wi-Fi base stations.

  • Automatically connect the Internet via dial up connection?

    Hi all,
I am using LabVIEW 6i. I require to connect the internet via modem. I want this to be done automatically. I read some of the discussion here which discuss some AT protocols. Sorry, but I am not aware of these protocols.
After this auto connection I want to get data from some links. I think this I could using URL property of the windows' browser. If some one has other options please let me know.
    Thanking you.
    Vishal Shah.

I'm not sure I understand your problem. Do you want to dial up a flow controller and talk to it via
Modbus? I am familiar with Modbus and modem connects.

  • Safari 4.0.2 so slow that says you are not connected to internet, & no JAVA

1)with the new version of safari 4.0.2, and the "loading" imageit is very slow, so slow that then I press any link it says you are not connected to internet. , then I reload again and it loads for the first time the page after a long time.
    this happens so often.
... but guess what, I open the connection using another browser and I can see the same pages without problem.
this version is so low, even when I press to any link... why the loading of pages like apple.com takes too long?
2)now with this version I can not see applications that runs on java. before it i could , but now it does not display , and the sun page says that for mac one has to check the apple updates, but there is no apple updates until now to complement the java problem.

This could ( no, will happen if your dsl modem/router is set to give up it's connection when the mac is idle.
Many dsl modems ( in the UK, at least ) do NOT default to 'always on'.... & a setting must be changed to enable this. Even with 'always on', you will get a similar problem occasionally, but the delay will be just a few seconds.... not 30+.
Some modems can be accessed by entering 192.168.1.1 into safari - check the instructions for yours.
Also some(!) isp's don't allow always on & force a disconnection when idle. Mine does - but you can opt-out of it via their website.
I bet if you mention the make/model of your dsl gear, somebody here can tell you exactly where to find these settings.
