PlayMemories won't launch my default email client (Thunderbird) when trying to email a picture

I can click on the “email media files tool”, drag the phone to the designated area, hit next, and kit “ok” in the dialogue box that converts it to a smaller size.   However, when I click “ok” the dialogue box disappears, but a new email message fails to appear on the screen or in my task bar. I’m running a Gateway SX 2840 desktop computer using Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1 .I have 6 GB of RAM and 700 GB of hard drive spaceI just installed the latest version of PlayMemories home (3.0.30.12182).My email utility is the current version of Thunderbird,  24.2.0.It is set as my default email utility, and it launches fine when called from other applications such as Canon ZoomBrowser Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi pzamecni! The Email Media Files feature only works with e-mail client software such as Microsoft® Outlook® and similar applications. Web-based e-mail services like Hotmail®, Yahoo!®, Gmail™, and others are not supported. In your e-mail software, MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface) must be enabled for this feature to work. If needed, refer to the Help files of your e-mail software for further information about MAPI.
I hope this helps.

  • TS3276 Hello all, I am getting the following message with some emails I receive:- HTML enabled email client required to read this email. I don't really understand this and don't know what to do to allow me to open the email. Any help? Thanks, Alex

Hello all, I am getting the following message with some emails I receive:- HTML enabled email client required to read this email. I really don't understand this message, am non techy, would anyone know how I can open and read the email? Thanks very much for any help, Alex

In Mail I suggest you try 'View->Message->Plain text alternative'.
Why? In multipart/alternative messages, such as this, the text/plain version should precede the text/html version, but Toyota have swapped them around. By default mail clients display the second version, assuming it to be HTML.
    Very strange.

Good luck.    I have been trying to report to Apple Support about a Bogus Email I received today, which said I had made a purchase. Naturally, I was to cancel this bogus purchase by giving out personal details etc to them.
The real question is: how did they get my email as someone who had purchased from Itunes?. I cannot believe that ti si coincidence.
HAVE the Australian Apple IDs [where users have supplied their email addresses] been compromised?
My report about Spam was the same as reported in 2010, when the reply was: Apple knows all about this.  What has been done about that spam from this address:

Chris CA,  62,910 points.  Dang...that's a lot of support.  Before I start, let me say Thank You!  You need to answer a lot of people's questions to achieve that.
    1)  You slightly misunderstood my letter through no fault of your own.  It was a generic compilation of information submitted by members of this discussion turned into a letter by me for use on the Apple Feedback site.  I myself did not receive an e-mail.  I actually was prevented from purchasing any more iTunes gift cards at a certain point and was given a cryptic response from the iTunes store that my request could not be processed.  It was only after investigation on my part that I found out the reason was the $100 max per 30 day rule.  I'd try to find where in the Apple's support site I did find that information...but, well, you are just going to have to trust me.  However, others in this discussion stated they received the information in an e-mail.  I used that fact in my letter as it seemed to create a less "cumbersome" feedback submission.
    2)  "Why look for iOS apps?"  That's a good very good question!  I miswrote.  I should have said "OS X apps."  That is where iTunes is located on the Feedback Site.  Good catch.  As you know (62,910 points is a lot of "knowing"), when you submit feedback you must click on the item of which you are going to write.  I must be so ramped up for the impending release of the new iPhone that I had iOS on the brain.  My bad. :-)
    3)  In all the time this discussion has been alive (over a year), and in all my googling, I never read about an option to contact iTunes support and ask them to remove this limit from my account.  It is too bad you didn't come to this discussion when it started in May of 2011 to offer that piece of advice!  Surprisingly, that information wasn't anywhere on the Apple site where I read about the $100/30 day limit.  Maybe it is there now.  But, it sure wasn't there when I read it.  It would have been very helpful.
    4)  You say "(which they can do and often have done for many people here)."  I am curious, what do you mean by "here."  Not "here" as in "here in THIS discussion forum."  Right?  I don't see anyone in this discussion aware of that information and posting it for others to read.  By "here" I assume you mean the ENTIRE Apple Support Community.  Unfortunately, until you arrived on the scene, none of those from that gigantic "here" came across THIS discussion to share their good fortune and knowledge about removing the $100 limit on iTunes gift card purchases per 30 days.
Well, I think that wraps it up for another day.  I am off to iTunes support to get this limit removed from my account.
    Adios amigos!
    Mr. Luigi

When trying to email keynote presentation i get a message which says"can't email nor save message"

Please note that Thunderbird is not an email service. Thunderbird is the program that can be used to read mail.
The email provider, is the part of your email address that comes after the "@" symbol. Can you please post that. (Do not post your entire email address, for privacy reasons).

  • Why will Adobe not accept my Verification Code when trying to email pictures?

Why will Adobe not accept my Verification Code when trying to email pictures as it is the code they sent me?

    Hi,
It might help if you could tell us your version of PSE and your operating system.
In between requesting the verification code and trying to apply it, you didn't change any of the settings in Edit -> Preferences -> Sharing did you?
Did you use Copy & Paste to copy the verification code from the email to PSE?
On the page that is asking for the code, you can always click on the resend button and it will send you the code again - worth a try.

  • Gmail keeps opening as the default email client. I tried to change to Outlook, but it isn't accepting the change

When I click on an email link in a website, Outlook used to open. Recently however, Gmail is opening instead. I tried to change the settings in tools, options, applications and it says Outlook is my client.
I also went to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Set program access and defaults and chose Outlook, but it keeps resetting to use existing program.
I realize the second solution I tried isn't a Firefox issues, but I wanted you to know what I have tried to get Outlook back as my email client.
I use Windows XP, service pack 3

I see you have Google Toolbar installed. In the Google Toolbar Options dialog, on the Search panel there is an option to use Gmail, make sure it is not selected.

  • System default email client (Thunderbird) does not appear in mailto applications.

I should like to use Thunderbird as the mailto application in Firefox. The only options listed for mailto are GMail, Yahoo mail, always ask, and choose application; use default does not appear.

I've solved this. Clicking "use other" in mailto applications, "cancel" when a window opens to select application, then clicking an application other than mailto, and the system default mail client is selected. Seems a bit user unfriendly. I'm running Firefox 24 under Ubuntu 13.04 BTW.

  • "no default mail client" error when iPod touch is plugged in

I use my iPod with a Mac at home and a WinXP box at work. I have a new 2G iPod touch. Whenever I plug it in at work and start iTunes, I start getting this error. The error window will pop up once or twice and then go away, at least for a while.
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
Yeah, right, like I'm going to do that. This seems to be coming from the program OutlookSyncClient.exe -- I don't have my iPod set to sync Calendars. So why is this happening and how can it be made to stop? Is iTunes trying to email someone? And why is Apple trying to get me to use a Microsoft email program? Insanity.

I just started getting that same popup error constantly, since upgrading to the latest iTunes version last night. I think in my case it's happening when the auto-sync to MobileMe is triggered. I don't have M$ Outhouse as my default mail client and don't want to make M$ Outhouse my default client, but I have been syncing calendars and contacts through it to MobileMe because it doesn't support syncing directly to the things I really use. Previously it worked OK without requiring me to make it my default client... what changed?

  • Can't set default email to Thunderbird in iphoto to email pictures

If I want to sent pictures with iphoto, my Mail doesn't let me send it (a Mail problem). I have Thunderbird on the computer, but iphoto doesn't have Thunderbird in the list to change the default email. I can only choose 'mail' or 'entourage'. How can I add Thunderbird to the list?

Thunderbird is not scriptable, and hence cannot be used as a default mail client. However, you can still access the Library from Thunderbird using the Attach Dialogue: see the first option here:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 and later*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
*For users of 10.4 and later* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and later:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
    Regards
    TD

  • Need to avoid Select Email Client dialog when submitting Acrobat X form

We are using Windows 7 / Office 2010 32-bit with Adobe Pro X, and have found that when creating a PDF from a Word 2010 document (via either print or convert or Word PDF or XPS), then using Acrobat to create a form from it, when we apply the action Submit a Form, the finished product presents users with a Select Email Client dialog.  The choices within the dialog are Desktop or Internet email.  We are using a direct email address, not a server location.  This happens even when NOT using the Distribute wizard.  Outlook is confirmed as the email choice in Adobe Preferences Internet Settings.  Anyone encounter this issue and have a fix or workaround?  We want the email to auto-create as it does in our XP / Acrobat 8 Pro environment without a dialog presentation.
Thanks for any and all thoughts!

Yes, you are right that is the way to go.  Thank you!
I have tested and am now using successfully:
    // Set email address
    var cToAddr = "%email.address%";
// Set the subject and body text for the e-mail message
    var cSubLine = "Survey Response";
    var cBody = "Message body text";
// Send the form data as a PDF attachment in an e-mail message
    this.mailDoc({bUI: false, cTo: cToAddr, cSubject: cSubLine, cMsg: cBody});

  • PSE 8 No Email Program Error When Sending an Email

    Hi Everyone,
I have a student who has a pretty new computer running Win 7 with PSE 8. She has set up her email sharing with Adobe Services and has received/entered the verification code. However, when trying to send an email, she gets the following error message as soon as she hits Send.
"There is no e-mail program associated to perform the requested action.  Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
Running PSE 8 as an administrator does not correct the problem. I thought that when you are using Adobe Email Service, you did not need an email program, like OL or Microsoft Mail. ??
    TIA Don S.

No, I never did get an answer.
To be honest I cannot remember if my student resolved their problem. I have never had that specific error message, and the last time I checked PSE 8 was emailing fine. HOWEVER, just yesterday, the only way I could send email from within PSE 7 was to not include any names from the PSE Contact list. This always caused PSE 7 to crash for both OL and Adobe Email Service, Photo Mail or Attachments. I have not checked PSE 8 yet.
I found out about the PSE 7 problem from a friend using OL. For her, it was working but all of a sudden, began to crash PSE 7.
Does anyone know if PSE 7/8 connects with Adobe while emailing, even if OL is used as the email client?
    Don S.

  • How can I read my old POP3 emails on Thunderbird from a closed email account that Thunderbird first wants me to open?

For several years, I routinely used Thunderbird to download (POP mode) emails from my previous Centurytel.net email account. I thought that these POP emails downloaded onto my computer via Thunderbird would later be readable, even though I closed my Centurytel.net email account. However, when opening Thunderbird (to try to read any), the Thunderbird software insists on first logging into that (now defunct email account) by username and password. Of course, now that fails as that account at Centurytel.net no longer exists. Is there a way to still read such old emails by bypassing in Thunderbird the requirement to first log into that now defunct email account?
Thanks in advance for any and all help, Paul

Try setting Thunderbird to offline - look under File on the menu.
Now if you move the messages to Local Folders, you can delete the account in Thunderbird and you won't get any further connection errors.

  • In iPhoto, I am getting this error when trying to email a photo.  "The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination."

I am trying to email a photo from iphoto using my gmail account.  I am receiving this error that my email server doesn't recognize my username/password.  I do have a different password for Gmail, should that matter?  How can I correct this?

in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
    OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences
