PLD and sort value

Dear Expert
Happy new year to you
One customer makes end of the month invoice with all delivery made in the month
We use sort value and the value is Base Doc reference in INV1 and we group by, the delivery note number is selected
At each group we can see as header the Delievrey note number
But we also want to see on the same header the date of delivery (actdeldate) and customer ref (BaseAtCard)for each group of delivery
How is it possible with PLD what function to use.???
We use SAP BO 2007 SP01 PL11

PLD is a very simple tool. You probably need Crystal Report to achieve your goal.

Pie Chart Legend - colors and sorting value

Hi,I have a pie chart with around 20 'segments' representing names of people - so it looks like several of them have the same color.So my first question is do the standard 12 colors repeat after 12 segments have been 'defined' - can this be extended with custom colors?. I know you can set colors for specific values but as the list is dynamic, I can't do that. I also have a legend defined which shows the person's name and then the value - either a percentage or a count etc. From top to bottom, the legend lists the entries alphabetically by the person's name - however, it's not always easy to tell which name is associated with which 'segment' and using labels is not an option as they are too long and there are too many of them to be readable So what I would like to do is have the legend displayed in numerical size order - e.g. person with largest % is at the top, smallest % is at the bottom etc.I've been looking at the Chart Expert, CR Help and the forums but have not seen an answer to either question - I'm hoping someone can tell me if it's possible or not (and if so, how do I do it!).Thanks

If you go to the Chart Expert, on the data tab, you can choose the Top N option.Â From within there you can get your legend sorted based on the highest or lowest percentage.Â You can also group information so that you only see the top 5 or lowest 10 or whatever you want.
Also when I create a pie graph based on 20 plus pieces of data it isn't resusing the colors, but they are somewhat similar. I usually do a group of the top 10 or so, then have an others category for situations like this.Â

Read and sort values present in .ini file

Hi all,
I have a .ini file in which a set of modules with there order of execution is mentioned.I want to get all these values sorted as an array so that I can proceed with the execution of each in the order mentioned.The module list in the .ini file looks like this:
Here, digits represent the order of execution of module.
I should get output as an array with following values:
1 MNO
2 DEF
3 STU
4 PQR
5 GHI
6 VWZ
7 ABC
8 JKL
I know about config data and read key vis but since the module list is huge I dont know how to write an efficient code for this.All suggestions are welcome.

How to access sort direction and filter value of columns? Can I catch the 'filtered' or 'sorted' event?

We have some columns being added to a table. We have set the sortProperty and the filterProperty on each of our columns.
This allows us to both filter and sort.
We want to be able to access the columns filter value and sort value after the fact. Can we access the table and then the columns and then a columns properties to find these two items? How can I access the sort direction and filter value of columns?
We would also like to store the filter value and the sort direction, and re-apply them to the grid if they have been set in the past. How can we dynamically set the filter value and sort direction of a column?
Can I catch or view the 'filtered' or 'sorted' event? We would like to look at the event that occurs when someone sorts or filters a column. Where can I see this event or where can i tie into it, without overwriting the base function?

Just wanted to share how I implemented this:
Attach a sort event handler to table - statusReportTable.attachSort(SortEventHandler);
In this event handler, grab the sort order and sorted column name then set cookies with this info

When i fill the grid with data, i check my cookies to see if a value exists, and if so we apply this sort:

Dash in sort value is skewing sort

Hi All,
I've noticed that having dashes in an alphanumeric sort field causes the data not to be sorted correctly:
A-
AA
A-B
AC
A-C
A simple Crystal formula highlights the issue:
StrCmp ("A-B","AAA") returns 1, i.e. "A-B" is greater than "AAA", but
StrCmp ("A-A","AAA") returns -1, i.e. "A-A" is less than "AAA".
I know I can work around this by manipulating the data but with hundreds of reports containing multiple groups and sort values this is not practical. Is there some setting or collating sequence I need to set? Why is it doing this?
I'm running CR XI R1 SP3 on Windows Vista. I also get the same result in CR 8.5.

I think we're now getting to the bottom of the issue. I assume Crystal has based it's sort logic on Excel (N.B. Access does not sort this way). Why they would want to do this I don't know but maybe SAP can confirm. IMHO it would be much better to sort using the normal ASCII values, or at least have an option to do this.
Some further research on sorting in Excel:
Default sort orders In an ascending sort, Microsoft Office Excel uses the following order. In a descending sort, this sort order is reversed.
Value Comment
Numbers Numbers are sorted from the smallest negative number to the largest positive number.
Dates Dates are sorted from the earliest date to the latest date.
Text Alphanumeric text is sorted left to right, character by character. For example, if a cell contains the text "A100," Excel places the cell after a cell that contains the entry "A1" and before a cell that contains the entry "A11."
Text and text that includes numbers stored as text are sorted in the following order:
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 (space) ! " # $ % & ( ) * , . / : ; ? @ \ ^ _ ` { | } ~ + < = > A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z

PLD sorting values

Hello
I have a question
End of the mmonth we make an invoice combining all delivery notes
On the PLD I have storted Delivery Note number on the repetitive area (sort value) but in the same group I want the date and document reference remark to appear
I have sometimes the date and the ref text but sometimes not so the solution I have is not correct
I have made a link fields as a formula for date and base ref
Field 1 = Doc Base number of the row INV1
Field 2 = Sorted value
Formula : Field1==Field2
The date and base ref are linked to Formula above...
Maybe there should be another way to have everytime date and base ref to be shown in the group 1 area

Adding new value in Pick list and sorted logic on basis of new value.

I have a requirement where I have to add a new value in seeded OAMessageBean and sort the page contents on basis of selected value.
I see in about this page and found out that no VO is attached with this field.
I assume that it attached somewhere in controller and tried to find out there but cannot able to find it there.Is there any way to find the VO which is attached to this bean?
Also how to add a new values in this seeded picklist as I can able to get handle to OAMessageBean in custom controller.

Sorting Values and keeping Keys

Hi,
I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I would like to sort some key value pairs.
I have the following data the key is a string and the value is an int.
"John",26
"George",25
"Ian",33
"Greg",25
I would like to sort the names by age and output them e.g
Greg George John Ian
I have looked at this post using the TreeMap and TreeSet to sort based on values but this seems to only work for Strings. Another problem is that I think tree set needs unique values and in my case they're not unique.

1, Set one dynamic parameter,
2, Drag and drop that parameter into your report title.
3, Pass the value(sort value) dynamically from your application,
4, Cheers..
Other wise Try with Dataset, create a dataset and fill thev alue into that.. Then set the data source from CR designer. and darg and drop that data column into the report.

Grouping and sorting the data based on the parameter

Hi,
I need to display the total of item Cost i.e sub total based on parameter in Excel format
if value = 1 then (Subtotal by Manufacture) and sorting by Manufacture, Receipt Date, Organization, Item Code
if value = 2 then (Subtotal by Organization ) and sorting by Organization, Item, Serial Number
and at the end of report need to display full total
is it possible in excel output using the below xml , please guide me if i need to change the way of getting XML ouput or can be acheived using this.

Help needed for storing and sorting objects.

I have an assignment and it is to create a guessing game, here is the question,
In this assignment you are to write a game where a user or the computer is to guess a random
number between 1 and 1000. The program should for example read a guess from the keyboard, and
print whether the guess was too high, too low or correct. When the user has guessed the correct
number, the program is to print the number of guesses made.
The project must contain a class called Game, which has only one public method. The method must
be called start(), and, when run it starts the game. The game continues until the user chooses to
quit, either at the end of a game by answering no to the question or by typing 'quit' instead of a
guess. After each game has been played, the program is to ask the user for a name and insert this
together with the number of guesses into a high score list. When a game is started the program
should print the entire high score list, which must be sorted with the least number of guesses first
and the most last. Note, the list must be kept as long as the game-object is alive!

consists of the game time. In case there are two high scores with the same number of guesses, the
game time should decide which is better. The game time starts when the first guess is entered and
stops when the correct guess has been made. There should also be input checks in the program so
that it is impossible to input something wrong, i.e. it should be impossible to write an non-numeric
value then we are guessing a number, the only allowed answers for a yes/no question is yes or no,
every other input should yield an error message an the question should be printed again.
I understand how to code most of it, except I am not sure how to store the playerName, playerScore, playerTime and then sort that accordingly.
I came across hashmaps, but that wont work as the data values can be the same for score.
Is it only one object of lets say a highScore class, and each time the game finishes, it enters the values into an arrayList, I still dont understand how I can sort the array all at once.
Should it be sorted once for score, then another array created and sorted again, I dont get it I am confused.
Please help clarify this.

ThanksWell, there was probably a gap in the communication. Hash maps (or hash tables, etc.) are instance of Map. Those are used to locate a value by its unique key. Generally, to speed up access, you implement a hashing function (this will be explained hopefully in class). Think of name-value pairs that are stored where the name is unique.
Contrast this with items that are sorted. Any List can be sorted because its elements are ordered. An ArrayList is ordered, generally, by the order you inserted the elements. However, any List can be given its own ordering via Comparable or Comparator. You can't do this with an ordinary Map. The purpose of a Map is speedy access to the name-value pairs, not sorting. The List likewise has different purposes, advantages, disadvantages, etc. List can be sorted.
A Map is generally similar to a Set. A Set is a vanilla collection that guarnatees uniqueness of each element (note, not name-value pairs, but simple elements). There is one concrete class of Map that can be sorted, TreeMap, but I doubt your professor was referring to that. The values or the keys can be returned from the Map and sorted separately, but again, I doubt he was referring to that.
Take a look at the Collections tutorial here on this site or Google one. It is fairly straightforward. Just keep in mind that things (generally) break down into Set, Map and List. There are combinations of these and different flavors (e.g., Queue, LinkedHashMap, etc.) But if you can learn how those three differ, you will go a long way towards understanding collections.
(Oh, and be sure to study up on iterators.)

These values we receive through specific class and its corresponding object....I want some Function Module which will allow me to receive the description and corresponding value for the material which will automatically retrieve the data for that material using the class and object...
Please help me to sort this problem...

I 'm working with invoice and I have this source structure as XI input:

If You want to do it in graphical mapping then I will do it this way:
1. sort by taxcode
(taxcode) --> split by value (valuechanged) --> formatByExample (Amount, and splitted value) --> sum(amount) --> MWSBT

Your form is not shared so I have not been able to access it. But I have updated mine. There are now two approaches, one that follows on from the above method and updates each drop down list in each row. The second updates a separate dataset that the drop down list is bound to. This second approach requires the remerge() method which can cause problems if your code has updates some form properties like a borders color as these will be reset, but the code is simplier and you will only have one list to maintain. The add button click code is;

Group and sort in webi report

I have a requirement to group and sort in a report. Group should be based on id, sort based on time. Time sort should be the priority. Meaning, first criteria to sort is time, but if the id is repeated, time should be sorted for that id.
e.g, If I have ids A,B,C and values are such that A - 9:15 AM, B - 9:00 AM, A - 10:00 AM, C - 9:30 AM.
Requirement is as below
B - 9:00 AM
A - 9:15 AM
A - 10:00 AM
C - 9:30 AM
If I apply sort on time without group on id, I am getting data in the below manner which is not correct.
B - 9:00 AM
A - 9:15 AM
C - 9:30 AM
A - 10:00 AM
If I apply group first, I am not able to apply sort. Since the requirement is to show the least time first.
Please advice.

use the variable
=Min([Time]) In ([ID])
to sort. Then hide the column by reducing the width and making the font and background color as white.
