Please Help - Only Some Port Forwards Working

Hi all,
I have the most annoying issue with a Cisco 887VA-K9 port forwarding. Some port work while other don’t and I just can’t see why, however I suspect it is a zone based firewall (ZBF) issue.
Port forwards on the follow ports all work fine:
External port 8021 to 192.168.4.253 on port 80 works
External port 8022 to 192.168.4.253 on port 8022 works
All the rest don’t. I also have SIP phones sitting outside the LAN which are unable to register through the internet with the PBX unit which is in the DMZ network 192.168.4..0
Any help would be great appreciated as this sending me mad. Fully running config below.
Louise ;-)

It turns out the problem had nothing to do with wires or splitters.  The Verizon tech was at my house yesterday and the ONT was failing.  He replaced part of the ONT and it fixed the problem (finally!).  At least I was able to watch the Celtics game last night.
I have a Tellabs ONT.  Not sure the model but it's older like the ones in this thread.

  • PLEASE HELP!! port forwarding issues!

    hello guys,
    this is driving me absolutely crazy, i have read every forum out there and possibly watched every video and simply cant see what i'm doing wrong!
    i want to open the following ports to allow my DVR system for cameras to work:
    9000
    80
    60000
    37777
    i have followed all of the steps necessary but when i checked using a port checker tool, it said the ports are still closed?!?!?!?!?
    i read on a youtube video that the ports stay closed due to some sort of a security measure?
    speaking to customer services was no help either, the guy had no idea about what port forwarding is!

    this link may be of some help http://forumhelp.dyndns.info/networking/portforward.html

    Welcome to the Apple community.
    If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
    The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
    The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
    Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
    Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
    Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

    If you mean that you have been instructed to contact iTunes support, then will need to do what it says, contact iTunes Support. These are user-to-user support forums, if you thought you were contacting Apple by posting here. Go here:
    http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
    to contact the iTunes Store.
    If that does not answer your question, try posting in your native language, or find a friend with a better command of English to help you ask your question here.

  • Cant get port forwarding working, please help :(

    I bought an airport extreme yesterday, and since then ive been trying to get port forwarding to work. I've set it up before on other routers, and while its always been a hassle, this is the first time where I might just give up and take the router back. I've been searching the boards for solutions, and ive implemented several of them without success, and a call to apple's tech support got me nowhere. Im sure im just using the wrong number or setting somewhere, but I just cant seem to find it.
    One suggestion i read was to set up the routers connection to my modem manually, instead of through dhcp. When I switched from dhcp to manual, i noticed all the prior numbers except dns servers stayed entered, so i wrote down the ones from when it was set for dhcp and typed them in. My manual setup is:
    I.P.: 68.197.191.59
    subnet: 255.255.224.0
    router: 68.197.160.1
    dns: 167.206.245.68
    167.206.245.69
    every other setting i left on the default.
    the dhcp range is 10.0.1.2 - 200
    One entry recommended a static ip. I originally set one up with the dhcp reservation feature, but then another post said your ip should be outside the dhcp range. Not sure if either method is better, but ive set my system with the following static ip:
    i.p: 10.0.1.201
    subnet: 255.255.254.0 (i was unsure what to enter here, so i chose the same as the routers)
    gateway: 10.0.1.1
    in port forwarding i made an entry with 60000 for the 4 public/private tcp/udp and an ip of 10.0.1.201 (i have tried many other port numbers in the odd chance that the one i picked at random might have already been in use)
    I left every other setting on the defaults. The nat settings (a setting im not familier with) is current set for enabled with the default host box above it empty.
    I should mention, my pc is wired to the router. I am using utorrents port checking site, as well as canyouseeme.org. Neither can ever see my port, one simply says not open, the other says connection refused.
    I hope someone out there can help me with this, as the router is great with this one exception, and I'd rather not return it.

    For starters, it's probably not a bad idea to "factory reset" your device since it sounds like you've had a lot of people giving you different advice. This isn't to say that you've been given *bad advice* but, it may make things easier for a trouble-shooter if you start over from a "known" state.
    That said:
    You need to setup manual port mapping. The problem is, when somebody from the outside tries to access your computer, the Aiport (for lack of a better analogy) isn't expecting any visitors; so it turns them away. ---That matches what you are seeing from canyouseeme.org etc...
    Your error was when you "made an entry with 60000 for the 4 public/private tcp/udp and an ip of 10.0.1.201" Essentially all that will do is make a mapping for one port. Port "60,000" which to my knowledge, isn't used by anything.
    You have to tell the Airport specifically what "outside" ports (each and every one) that you want routed to what "inside" ip address.
    I use:
    Public TCP: 22,80,443,27900,13405
    Public UDP: 123,7777-7783, 13405,6881-6999
    Private IP Address: 10.0.1.201
    Private TCP: 22,80,443,27900,13405
    Private UDP: 123,7777-7783, 13405,6881-6999
    This enables: telnet, http, ssh, bittorrent and unreal tournament from the outside and routes ANY AND ALL TRAFFIC from those ports to my PC at 10.0.1.201 on the inside.
    If I ran AIM, or ICQ or one of those things, then you need to add the ports that that system uses to the list also.

  • PLEASE HELP! LIVE won't work in LOGIC anymore

    Hi,
    This is my problem:
    I happily worked on my MacBook Pro (2.33 GHz Tiger 10.4.11) for a long time, using Ableton LIVE as a ReWire slave to LOGIC and everything worked just fine.
    I recently got myself a Mac Pro (2 x 3.2 GHz Quad-core 4 GB RAM) and on which Logic seems to be running fine by itself (as does LIVE), but as soon as I open any of my documents created on my laptop (files that were created in ReWire mode) there seems to be a latency issue, as in some of the tracks don't quite play on time and then when I quit LIVE it crashes and LOGIC crashes a couple of seconds after that too.
    This happens also when I open an empty LOGIC file and start LIVE - again empty. A weird thing I noticed is that LIVE doesn't seem to crash when I quit, if I haven't pressed play. Only after playing something either in LOGIC or in LIVE do I get the crashes.
    If anyone has got any suggestions for this I'd be SOO grateful - I've been searching the internet and forums all day and can't seem to find any answers for this weird problem ... Could it be something to do with Leopard?
    PLEASE HELP!

    Also, Connection Doctor says I'm connected to the
    internet just fine.
    The Connection Doctor in Mail should list your email accounts and whether it can access them.
    Sounds like Mail has gotten confused about your .mac password. In Mail, go up to the menu bar Mail, go down to Preferences, select your .mac account and re-enter your password under "Incoming Mail Server".
    You may also have to re-enter your password under "Outgoing Mail Server" also.

  • Help setting up port forwarding for Ekiga

    Hi
    I am trying to set up Ekiga on my Arch X86_64 box but I can't get port forwarding to work on the Thomson TG585v7 wireless router, which I am sharing with a neighbor.  I have tried some how-to's I found via Google and set up Application/Game Sharing for the ports Ekiga uses.  I also set up static IP connection as it seems to be needed by the router for port forwarding to work but Ekiga still reports that it cannot set up my network connection and asks me to set up port forwading manually, which I have already done.
    I would very much appreciate any help to get Ekiga going for me.
    My thanks in advance.

    graysky wrote:No idea for you specific hardware but should be pretty trivial.  http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Enable_ … g_manually
    Thanks, but the problem is that setting up the router doesn't seem to work. I checked and repeated the set up a few times but no result. I feel I am missing a little detail somewhere but can't put my finger on it :-(

  • PLEASE HELP - JUST SOME GUIDANCE I AM STUCK!!!!!!!!

    Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me, I am very new to Java, and I am trying to create piece of program that acts like a bank account. So far I have this bit working but I need to add some sort of interaction menu, i.e. if you look below it displays the information from two accounts, one Gao and one Johns. I want it so that before it displays this to ask the user for the account number and then display the correct account. I hope this makes sense. I have tried all day to add some sort of interaction menu here, but no luck. All I am asking is for some advice on how I could possibly achieve this, and where would I put the menu code. I am really really stuck and this is giving me a headache! Please help!
    // The code starts here
    class BankAccount
         String name;
         String AcNo;
         double deposit;
         BankAccount() {}
         BankAccount(String aName, String aAcNo, double aDep)
              name = aName;
              AcNo = aAcNo;
              deposit = aDep;
         public void setName(String aName)
              name=aName;
         public void setAcNo(String aAcNo)
              AcNo = aAcNo;
         public void setDeposit(double aDep)
              deposit = aDep;
         public String getName()
              return name;
         public String getAcNo()
              return AcNo;
         public double getDeposit()
              return deposit;
         public double withDrawCash(double cash)
              if (cash <=deposit)
                   deposit = deposit-cash;
                   return(cash);
              else
              System.out.println("Not enough money in your account!");
              return (0);
    class demo
         public static void main(String args[])
              BankAccount myBankAc = new BankAccount("Gao", "12-23-34", 1000);
              BankAccount JohnBankAc = new BankAccount("John", "34-56-90", 200000);
              myBankAc.withDrawCash(500);
              System.out.println("MY balance is : " + myBankAc.getDeposit());
              System.out.println("MY name is : " + myBankAc.getName());
              System.out.println("MY AcNo is : " + myBankAc.getAcNo());
              JohnBankAc.withDrawCash(2000);
              double balance = JohnBankAc.getDeposit();
              System.out.println("John's balance is : " + balance);
    }

    a few suggestions:
    (1) Either put the menu code in the main() method of your bank account or put it in a separate class and instantiate an instance of that class in main().
    (2) If you want to input an owner name or account number and then have the main method print the correct account you'll want to write a toString() method for your BankAccount class that will let you print out the name, account number, and current balance. Then you'll want to add a bunch of BankAccounts to a data structure like a java.util.Map where the key is the owner name or account number (whichever one you want to do the search on) and the value is the BankAccount object.
    (3) Better to externalize the data you want to do the search on into a text file rather than hard-coding all the BankAccount info in your main class.
    If you could figure out how to write a new BankAccount to this file it'd be pretty neat, because then you'd have all the ingredients for a simple, flat file-based database: it would read existing accounts, let you search for an individual account, update balances by making deposits/withdrawals, and insert new accounts.
    If I were your professor, and you managed this feat, I'd give you an A.

  • Please help!  Ipod won't work with my itunes after plugged into MAC

    Hi, I am brand new to my ipod and i plugged it into my PC to get it started, then i plugged it into a friends mac to get his songs- now when i plug it back into my computer it says it is linked to another itunes library and asks if i want to link it back to this one and replace all of the music. I do not want to loose all of the music but want it reconnected to my itunes with the music on my computer and taking the music on the ipod (from my friends itunes) into my itunes. What do i do? I apologize if this is something posted before,i couldn't find an answer. Please help!! thanks

    That above article will not resolve the issue. It explaines it clearly in the article.
    "Using an iPod formatted for Macintosh on a Windows computer is not supported. Using an iPod formatted for Windows on a Macintosh computer is not supported."
    this means that it won't work with out a 3rd party tool. You HAVE to restore it if you take it between different OS. That document works only if your taking it between windows machines or all mac machines.

  • Please help! ipod nano wont work at all!

    Please Help! my ipod nano has decided to stop working altogether - will not switch on or connect to computer. have tried to reset it several times but it wont work!
    any ideas much appreciated - it worked an hour ago and i only got it this morning!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    Congrats, for your nano! Not for its problems, I mean!
    About your iPod's problem:
    First, make sure the "hold" switch isn't on. The hold switch is located on the top of your iPod. If it's orange, then that means it's on. If it's grey, it's not on. Switch it off (grey) if it was on (orange).
    If that wasn't the problem, let's make sure your iPod is even charged enough. Hook your iPod into the computer using the USB cord to the computer (that also charges the iPod), leave it there for 10 minutes, and see if it comes alive.
    Presuming that your iPod won't charge or wake up to your computer charger, if you have a wall charger for your iPod (that's different than the cord for the computer charger), hook it up, leave it there for 10 minutes, and see what happens.
    Thes suggestions should work for your iPod. It's most likely something pretty simple.
    Post back if this helped or not, I hope it did. Good day!

  • Please help!  Iphoto upgrade not working!!!

    Iphoto is not working.  When I open it, it says it is upgrading, but only goes to 99% on step five. Do you know how i can fix this and save my photos?  It also doesn't let me click into anything on that window, not even at the bar at the top of the screen, so i have to go into another window and force quit it.  Then it does the same thing over again.  I tried restarting my computer and shutting it down, but it did not work.  Can someone please help?

    You must have a corrupted file someplace.
    Try these steps:
    1: Reset iPhoto database here
    iPhoto rebuild database:   https://support.apple.com/kb/HT2638
    2: Run the #12 and #13 OnyX cache cleaning and corrupted preference file list routines here
    Step by Step to fix your Mac
    3: Right click on the iPhoto Library and "show package contents" inside is a folder with your Originals.
    Duplicate that with the Finder >Duplicate and move OriginalsCopy out of that folder and onto the Desktop, then delete all the files inside the original Original folder and then repeat #1 above, then reimport the OriginalsCopy in batches to see if you can locate the corrupted file.
