Do you have any reason to stay with Firefox 3.0.19 and not updating to Firefox 3.5.x or 3.6.x ?

  • I keep getting the little blue box with the question mark

    Hi
I have 10.6.7 system software and my safari is 5.0.4
I have called apple twice with this problem already but nothing has helped except for short times.
I have reset safari about one dozen times and when I do I reset the top 7 items and I've emptied the cache in addition just in case. I've also taken my safari preference plist out of my library and trashed it.
And I've run disk utilities many times and restarted my computer. Each thing I do will solve the problem for a short time, even up to a day or more (or less) but then it comes back. For instance on Facebook maybe 1/8th of the thumbnail images have the little blue boxes with the question marks but most don't. I can't figure it out. Sometimes even the iPAD safari gets them too but my firefox doesn't show them and neither does Safari on my eMac.
Yesterday the question marks even showed up in ONE mailing on all 3 computers with the question marks in the blue boxes (meaning my iMac, my eMac and my iPad) but then it just all resolved after a few hours. This does sound like possibly a server problem except today it's happening (in Safari again) only on this iMac in Safari (not firefox) and not on the other two devices.
One more thing, since they changed my radio on the roof for my wireless internet, the 5.8 phone cuts out the internet when I use it. The problem has gotten worse since they changed the radio to the same frequency as the phone, it's a much faster service than the 2.4 radio. I don't know if this is related or not.
    Thank you,
    Martha

    <Contact your ISP.
Is it possible, Carolyn, that this would mainly and almost always be only affecting the iMac and Safari in the iMac if it were a server issue? Right now Safari has more blue boxes with question marks than ever and the eMac and iPad have none. Firefox on the iMac has none also.
I should try a direct connection and by pass the router and see if that makes a difference.
I will contact them tomorrow but I want to get clear in my head first all the facts and possibilities.
    Thanks!
    Martha

  • Images on certain websites come up blank with little blue box with white "?" inside

I own a MacBook Pro (MAC OS X 10.6.8) that I purchased in 2011. I have never had a single problem before, but here very recently youtube, my school (FSU) website, and a few other random websites will not load images. At all. They just show a little blue box with a white question mark inside. I have tried emptying the catch, resetting safari, nothing works. Help? I need to be able to see the images on my.fsu.edu it's really important!

  • Images appearing as little blue box with a question mark

Hi, I have Safari version 3.1.1 and in the last two weeks, I've been missing data and having in it's place a small little blue box with a question mark show up in Safari and in some of my mail downloads too.
    Can anyone assist
    Thanks
    Tony
p.s. I have started a new topic because the other string relating to this topic is showing as solved with cause being devleopers.

I have exactly the same problem with safari and mail but firefox works fine. If i go to a website that requires flash in safari it will say i need to install flash 8 to view the stuff even though i have flash 9 installed. I thought it might have been a problem with flash and thought about uninstalling and reinstalling but because firefox works fine it would seem to be a safari problem. This only started happening with the latest quicktime update to, and i've tried downgrading back to an older version but my pro-apps require the latest version to run.
I did the same updates on my macbook but didn't encounter the same problems, although i lost audio playback on avi's in quicktime which i have since fixed with perian.

  • What is the little blue box on the custom layout background . Ll the choices have this and show up in the photo

i used the custom feature for 1 photo. All the choices have a little blue box on it that shows up in the photo. What is that?

That is not a standard feature of Firefox.
'''Reset''' removes all extensions and themes, along with other specific things, as explained in this support article.
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems#w_what-does-the-reset-feature-do
You need to reinstall which extension added that '''F''' to Firefox.

  • I want to watch a video from a site and all I see is a little blue box

Why is it that when I'm on a site that has some video to watch (i.e. news)...all I see is a little-biddy blue box with a question mark on it where the video should be? I tap and tap but no video...what is that little blue box with a question mark on it...is my video being blocked.
And while I'm on it...sometimes I'm on a site and I tap the "link" but it doesn't open the link up...just kinda refreshes the page and goes back to where I was...like it didn't open up at all...no extra page, no nut'n.
    Just curious,
    Thanks

Seems like I do wait for the page to fully load but sometimes these sites have "auto-refresh" on and that may bug it up a bit...but I do remember zooming in and tapping with a good tap and all it does is refresh the page I was already on. Not a biggy since I can eventually check it on my desktop later, but was curious if I was the only one having this problem. Thanks so much.

  • Why is my mac missing certain fonts and not displaying some pictures, is just a little blue box with a question mark in it?

When I open documents it always comes up with warnings that I am missing fonts and some cannot be replaced.
Also now I am noticing that some pictures are now missing and are replaced by a small blue box with a question mark in the middle. Can anyone
tell me what is going on and how I can fix this?
    Confused and frustrated,
    Amanda

Do you get a dialog box if you control click the missing image.

  • Little blue box with "?" inside

when I open my mail messages, in my iPhone, that usually have such items as the senders logo or a photo of an item in their newsletter, instead of seeing those items all I see is a little blue square with a question mark inside of it. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I might go about correcting it.

  • Help: Weird letter 'C' appeared top of N95 Screen

    Hi,
The stranges thing happened to me. In any other screen then the media menu. A C (Dark angainst a white background) appeared at the top of my screen. it is unclear to me why it is there and how to get rid of it. A reboot removes it but, it comes back again after a while.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
    Regards,
    Oranki

    Hi Oranki
I just got a n95 and bluetooth keyboard.
I get a "C" on a white background at the top of the screen when I use the keyboards Caps lock function and a similar "N" for Num lock.
If you use a bluetooth keyboard I suspect this is the cause of the "Weird letter 'C' appeared top of N95 Screen".
    Hope this helps.

  • Flashing red bar on top of iphone screen

Hi there. I was reading already a bit about the red status bar here in the forum but some of my questions remain unanswered.
I understand so far - please correct me if I'm wrong - that the red status on the top of the screen is popping up sometimes for some seconds to remind me that there are background applications running.
    My questions:
    - I know that there are background applications running (for example 8mm camera app or hipstamatic camera app), but can I turn that notification off? I want those apps running in the background because I use them very often. Or do they suck energy when they're running in the background? I mean: they are basically just open, doing nothing.
    - every time the red notification bar pops up my itunes stops. it's annoying. how can i turn these notifications off and prevent itunes from stopping playing music?
    Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the response. But now:
    - why for **'s sake is apple keeping all the applications running in the background anyway. why is there no function in the settings to close certain apps automatically after using them? i really don't want to take a photo or film and swap to another application and then manually have to close the application. that's like 6 wasted seconds of my life by doing unnecessary work and if i multiply that with the amount of photos/films i take (~30 per day) then i'm wasting about 18.5 hours per year just on closing the application after I've done a photo. so i want to keep that app running in the back so it's open all the time.
    - anyhow: i've closed the app (8mm app) and even restarted the iphone. the red bar with "8mm" still pops up. huh!?

  • What are those darn little blue boxes with

question marks? How do I get rid of them.
    Thanks

I just means the image could not be loaded. Maybe the server the image hosted is down, the URL to the image is not correct, or the browser timed out trying to load the image.
Only thing you can do about it is notify the webmaster and they will hopefully look into it.
