Plot offset in contour line plot

Hello,
I have a contour line plot like the the following:
The circle's center is at x = 0 and y = 0.
Now I'd like to move the plot with 2 offsets: x and y.
The axis scaling may not change.
But the plot circle's center should be moved a bit, so that it's for example at x = 0,25 and y = 0,4.
How can I do that, so that the plot will be recalculated?
I attached an example VI if you like to play around with it.
It's based on the VI "Contour Line Plot" in the NI Example Finder.
The values of the 2D arrays are given (measured). And after measuring these values the offset calculation should start based on these values.
Regards
Matthias

Please discard my previous post, I missed that you don't want x/y scale affected...  First  turn off Autoscale on both X & Y (right click no scale, you'll see options, I also turned off Loose fit but not sure if that's needed even though data are fractional) and then add offsets to data just before they enter Contour Line.

  • Does the 3dpc line plot have a memory leak? (ver 8.6.1)

    I have a very large application with a very small memory leak and the 3dpc line plot appears to be the most likely candidate.
    I create a line plot of data (100-200 points of XYZ) pass this to a Create 3dpc_surfaceplot:xctlcreate.vi in a loop (updated at a few hz).
    This code appears to grow in memory slowly over time (not at a regular pace sometimes a garbage collector must kick in).  Is this possible, is there anything I have to do to use this function in a loop, there is no help file provided for this vi.
    Can I avoide this situation (I am having trouble replicating te out of memory my client is seeing but again this is the most likely cause)?

    Hi Paul,
    Thank you for bring this to our attention. Do you have a small piece of code that exhibits this memory leak? If so, can you please it so that I can try to reproduce the issue here? If I can, then I can report the issue to R&D for further investigation.

  • How to create a chart using x-y correlation line plotting and trendline?

    Hi everyone,
    I am a college student and I opted to use iWork instead Microsoft Office, which has been wonderful software until this semester (iWork '08). Currently, I am taking some science classes, which requires me to graph simple function using "excel"; since I have Numbers, I attempted to graph my homework using such software. However, it was a little disappointing because I could not find x-y correlation line plotting, trendline, or simple curve fitting in Numbers.
    Is Numbers able to graph in such way? If yes, what is the best approach to find such tools?
    Any help will be truly appreciated.

    Plotting a function, eg y = 2x^2 + 3x + 2 or similar, in numbers or excel / appleworks / open office is not directly possible. The indirect way to do it is to build a spreadsheet put the values of x in one column and the formula to calculate the values of y in another and use these two columns to produce a chart. As you are plotting the function via calculated data (rather than trying to find a relationship by plotting observed data) trend line or curve fitting seems unnecessary.
    You can plot observed data and produce a scatter chart in Numbers, but it will not produce a trendline for you. You could calculate the parameters of the trendline, there are a number of shareware products that will do this. See http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/mathscience/indexabc.html. Once you calculate the trendline you could use the technique described above to plot it.
    You can plot a function directly using Grapher which lives in the Utilities folder. It can also be used to plot data sets and do simple curve fitting.
    Hope this helps, but as always to solve a problem you have to clearly define it first.

  • Chart Web Part to not plot zeros on a line graph

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to not plot zeros on a line graph?
    I have a line chart with days of the current month along the x-axis and a value on the y-axis. I have a series representing a forecast as a line that will show what the values along for the whole month should be and a second
    line chart series representing the actual. This tells the reader how the actual is tracking against the forecast. The data is based on an excel table.
    Currently when the latest value is set the line skews back to 0. I don't want this shown, I just want it left blank. On excel you can change the zeros to na() and the line graph will not plot, however, if I leave them as na() in the source data, the whole
    column wont be imported in the chart wizard.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Andy

    It's true -- the RangeBar chart type only has two field options (X and Y) while the RangeColumn correctly has an addtional Y field. The RangeBar chart should obviously have two X fields if it's supposed to plot a range, as the name and example image indicate.
    Neither this thread or the one linked has led to an answer. Can this be fixed?

  • Print a line plot

    Hi all. sorry to bother. I have created a line plot in java and i have created a method paint(Graphics g) {} where i draw the line plot. I want to print the lineplot but i don't know how..I studied the examples from the on-line tutorial
    The printing requires a method
    public int print(Graphics g, PageFormat pf, int page) throws
    PrinterException {
    and i don't know to integrate it to my method paint(Graphics g){}
    I would appreciate any help
    Antonios

    I do not know why you have declared the class as abstract. Abstract class must contain at least one abstract method.
    In your code, there is no abstract method.
    public Employee(String name, String address, String ssn,
                String id, double salary, double pay, String cvariable)
          name = EmpName;
          address = EmpAddress;
          ssn = EmpSsn;
          id = EmpEmployeeID;
          salary = EmpYearlySalary;
          pay = computePay;
          System.out.println("Constructor created");
         }The above code works only when you instantiate the object for the class. If it is abstract class, it will not work.
    Abstract class cannot be instantiated.

  • Creating contour lines within text

    I am trying to create artwork for use in a laser machine.  I have some directions on how to create it in Corel, but I'm Illustrator based and I can't seem to convert the terminology over to Illustrator.  I'm trying to create text that is filled with contour lines so that when it's sent to the laser it will vector engrave the fill instead of doing a solid fill with the raster etching.  Attached is a picture that might help explain what I need to accomplish.  Thanks in advance for the help.

    oldmountaincrafts,
    Basically, you can work with Object>Path>Offset Path with a negative value equalling the distance between lines.
    There may/will be some adaptations when the shapes switch from following the whole shapes to partial shapes.
    You may:
    1) Create the live Type;
    2) Type>Create Outlines, then switch from fill to a suitable stroke;
    3) Object>Path>Offset Path as many times as needed, possibly switching to partial shapes for the last bits, possibly using Object>Compound Path>Release.
    Below is the result up to the final adaptation for a 72pt Helvetica with a Stroke weight of 0.5pt and an offset of -1pt. The innermost bits of the B, a, and b, form Compound Paths which must be released so you can work on with each bit individually. You may also delete and replace parts and use simpler paths, such as curved paths in B, curved and curved/straight paths in a, and curved and straight paths in b.

  • Choose Plot Columns as Series or Plot Rows as Series from the pop-up menu in the bottom ba

    I am trying to construct a 2D graph in Numbers 3.5 (2109) that shows at two time points the voting intentions by political party. The instruction given by Help is below, but I cannot find the bottom bar or the pop-up box.
    Switch rows and columns as data series
    When you add a chart, Numbers defines default data series for it. In most cases, if a table is square or if it’s wider than it is tall, the table rows are the default series. Otherwise, the columns are the default series. You can change whether rows or columns are the data series.
    Select the chart.
    Choose Plot Columns as Series or Plot Rows as Series from the pop-up menu in the bottom bar.
    Bar showing options to plot rows or columns as series
    Click Done.

    Hi Phil,
    Click once on the chart (graph) to select it. Then click on Edit Data References. The pop-up appears bottom left of the Numbers window.

    Ian.

    I am using sound and vibration assistant 7.0 . I am using the impact test example given . I want to know if it is possible to convert the magnitude phase plot to real and imaginary plot in the sound and vibration assistant 7.0 ???

    If you have LabVIEW, you can create a user step to perform the conversion in version 7.0. Sound and Vibration 2009 has a checkbox in the Frequency Response configuration page to export the real and imaginary components. Short of upgrading SVT, you can also install the evaluation version of NI LabVIEW SignalExpress 2009, and this will also upgrade the Frequency Response Step which is shared between the two products (but then you don't get all the other features that were also added in SV 2009).
    Here are some links that may be useful to help decide whether you want to upgrade:

  • Contour/3D Plot for a circular surface

    So I know that similar questions to this have been asked a few times, but I figured it'd be more helpful if I posted my specific goal since I'm still a bit new to this:
    I have a program that collects a set of data, degree position and surface height, for a circular object that rotates through 360 degrees.  The object itself has 5 probes evenly spaced from it's center to it's outer edge, which collect this data.  Each probe collects 3600 data points (0 to 360 degrees, .1 degree intervals).
    Anyway, what I'd like to do is graphically represent this surface via a 2D contour plot, and possibly through a 3D plot as well.  I want to know what would be the best approach to do this.  The plots will be displayed through an executable distribution of my program.
    2-D Contour Plot (looking for something similar to matlab contour plots):
    Is the conensus that the scatter plot would be the best option for this purpose (looked through the contour vi)?
    Will I have to convert degrees to x and y coordinates and then just create my own custom degree scale (maybe just an image) for the drawing?
    How are the contour rings (in my case 5, representing the data from each evenly spaced probe)  put together?
    3-D Plot
    If I want a 3-dimensional image of the surface based on the data, what would be the best method/ plot type to use?
    Are there any 3-D plot types that offer the ability to rotate the object?
    Any comments would be appreciated, thanks.

    So I've run into a few problems attempting to create a 2-D contour plot using the intensity graph solution.
    As it turns out, since the intensity graph uses an array to specify the position of each point, I had to do a bit of coercing of my data (consisting of 3600 points).  Basically I wanted each data point to correspond to a different index of the 2-d Array, but there isn't enough memory available to create arrays of the size I would need (around 10,000 x 10,000 to have a unique index per data point intensity).  Is there away around this, or should I just ignore this and assume the effect on my contour plot will be negligible?
    Second: Is there a property/method I can use to make the nonzero points of my intensity plot thicker?
    Third and most importantly:  The partial solution I have so far only draws the first ring (for first column of data).  I need to draw four more rings (other four columns of data), each successive ring inscribed at the inner edge of the previous ring.  What would be the best method to go about doing this (case structures, state machine architecture, nested for loops)?
    Ideally, the contour plot would look very closely to the one I've attached in the gif.

  • Stacked Bar Graph with a line plotting count

    Hi everyone
    I am facing a problem with plotting a stacked bar graph with a line or dot for count.
    I have 2 y axes and one x-axes.
    Can anyone help out with suggestions as to how to do this in 9i Reports.

    The graph wizard in Reports 9i allows you to create a dual Y combination graph - is this not sufficient for your needs, or am I missing something?

  • How to plot this into a line graph?

    Hi,
    I just found out that my breakeven point in sales turnover is $132,837. But how would I plot that into Illustrator's line graph?
    breakeven1.jpg: It's breakeven point is $7,956.
    breakeven2.jpg: I'm probably doing it wrong. Do I really need to define both axises like that?
    Thanks!

    A more interesting question is: Must you use a chart at all to present such a simple fact? No offense, they tear such stuff to pieces over at Junk Charts and Mr. Tufte would call it a Duck. If you insist on using a chart, a differential bar chart or a range chart would be much more appropriate and telling.

  • Plot empty point in line chart with previous non empty value

    Hello,
    I have a problem to plot series data in SSRS line chart, with the empty point, I don't want use average and zero provided by the report builder, I want use the last non empty data to fill the empty point, tried to use expression =Previous(Field!Value), no
    luck, any one have some good idea?
    P.S. do not want to use query to fill the null with previous non null value, just from the performance point view. at last , the chart should have some line as square wave with different height, if I use average for empty point, it shows slop wave line which
    is not reflect the real production.
    Thanks
    Richard

    Hi Richard,
    In Reporting Services, if the chart type is a linear chart type (bar, column, scatter, line, area, range), null values are shown on the chart as empty spaces or gaps between data points in a series. By default, empty points are calculated by taking the average
    of the previous and next data points that are not null.
    If we want to use previous value to replace the empty value, please refer to the following steps:
    Right-click the field which displayed in Y axis (Height) to open the Series Properties.
    In the Value field to modify the expression to look like this:
    =iif(isnothing(Sum(Fields!Height.Value)),previous(sum(Fields!Height.Value)),sum(Fields!Height.Value))
    The following screenshot is for your reference:
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
