Pls help fetch resultset error(2 rst.next() in one loop)?

hi I got the following problem:, would any help me?
while(rst.next())
{  somtehings
rst.next() <--- error occurs if the ResultSet return odd number rec.?
somtehings
the above statment used to show two records in one row.

I think it is wrong to use rst.next into the while statment...
the following code is an example of while "loop" and as you can see, I don't use result.next() in the loop, but only in its condition :
               while (result.next()){
                    out.println("<tr>");
                    out.println("<td valign=top width='25%'>");
                    out.println(result.getString("username"));
                    out.println("</td>");
                    out.println("<td valign=top width='25%'>");
                    out.println(result.getString("password"));
                    out.println("</td>");
                    out.println("<td valign=top width='25%'>");
                    out.println(result.getString("date_from"));
                    out.println("</td>");
                    out.println("<td valign=top width='25%'>");
                    out.println(result.getString("date_to"));
                    out.println("</td>");
                    out.println("</tr>");
I don't understand your question: "do you need to work two lines per loop?"
