Pls help! problem to start my sun AppServer

I am a new learner to Sun Microsystem's application server.
Yesterday i start the default server from clicking the icon "start default server" under all programs, it worked fine. But today when i did the same thing, it got problem. it gave the message: CLI156 could not start the domin domin1, check the server log
I tried to start it from commond line by key in "j2ee -verbose", the system says it cannot recognize the command.
I have set the J2EE_HOME to the path of j2ee sdk installations, and also set the bin of j2ee sdk installation to the system enviroment PATH. why it still cannot recognize j2ee command?
i did not do any special things to the application server. the only fault is that i switched off my pc without stop the default server last night.
how can i start the server again?

very strange!!!! The server can be started again, however i did not do anything.
is that the server also has temper sometimes?

  • Urgent - pls help - Problem while inserting binary file into Oracle DB

    Hi,
    I am trying to insert binary files into a Blob column in a Oracle 10G table.
    The binary files would be uploaded by the web users and hence come as multipart request. I use apache commons upload streaming API to handle it. Finally i am getting a input stream of the uploaded file.
    The JDBC code is
    PreparedStatement ps=conn.prepareStatement("insert into bincontent_table values(?)");
    ps.setBinaryStream(1,inStream,length);
    My problem starts when i try to find the length of the stream. available() method of inputstream does not return the full length of the stream. so i put a loop to read thru the stream and find the length as shown below
    int length=0;
    while((v=inStream.read())!=-1)
    length++;
    Now, though i got the length, my stream pointer has reached the end and i cant reset it(it throws an error if i try).
    So i copied the stream content to a byte array and created an ByteArrayInputStream like this.
    tempByteArray=new byte[length];
    stream.read(tempByteArray,0,length);
    ByteArrayInputStream bais=new ByteArrayInputStream(tempByteArray);
    Now if i pass this bytearray input stream instead of the normal input stream to the prepared statement's setBinaryStream() method it throws an error as
    "ORA-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable conversion requested".
    Now how to solve this?
    My doubts are ,
    1) preparedStatement.setBinaryStream(int parameterIndex, InputStream x, int length) expects an inputstream and its length. if i have the stream how to find its length with out reading the stream?
    2) Also as the length parameter is a integer, what if i have a large binary file whose length runs more than the capacity of integer
    3) Alternatively there is a setBlob(int i, Blob x) in prepared statement. But how to instantiate a Blob object and set it here
    4) Is there any better way to do this.
    Thanks in advance

    "ORA-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable conversion
    requested".When the setBinaryStream method is used, the driver may have to do extra work to determine whether the parameter data should be sent to the server as a LONGVARBINARY or a BLOB (reference: javadoc)
    1) preparedStatement.setBinaryStream(int parameterIndex,
    InputStream x, int length) expects an inputstream and its length. if i
    have the stream how to find its length with out reading the stream?no. stream may have no specified length. i think you have wrong understanding about stream.
    2) Also as the length parameter is a integer, what if i have a large
    binary file whose length runs more than the capacity of integer
    3) Alternatively there is a setBlob(int i, Blob x) in prepared statement.
    But how to instantiate a Blob object and set it here
    4) Is there any better way to do this.use ps.setBlob(1, instream) instead

  • Urgent anybody pls help problem: JTree

    Hai all
    I want to save the structure of a JTree. i.e if i have a tree structure as
    level1
    .... level2
    .....level2
    level1
    Now I dynamically add a new node to tree. Then it collapses as
    level1
    But what i want is to maintain its structure with out collapsing i.e after adding node it should be like this
    level1
    .... level2
    .....level2
    ......level2
    level1
    How can I do this ?
    Thanks in advance
    pradeep

    Have you ever heard about data structure?
    You can use IndexNo and IndexNoOfParentNode for each object which will specify index no. of node and the parent node respectively.
    If you want the tree should persist its structure then you should store the structure may be in database or any other mechanism.

  • Urgent anybody pls help problem: JTre

    Hai all
    Is there any method for checking whether the JTree contain any element or not .i.e to check if JTree is empty or not
    Waiting for reply

    Probably not, from memory (a long while ago) you have to check the model.
    Something like:
    public boolean isTreeEmpty (JTree t)
        Object root = t.getModel ().getRoot ();
        if ((root == null)
             ||
            (t.getModel ().getChildCount (root) == 0)
             return true;
        return false;
    }The second part of the if may or may not be required depending upon whether you want to call having a root node empty.

I also placed the "sample.jnlp" file in the above directory.The name of my main class is :"Sample" .Here is the content of sample.jnlp:

  • My macbook air does not start up successfully. when i turn on the power, it just turn blue after the apple logo, how to reboot or repair,.. pls help me what is the buttons command... thanks in advance.

    pls help me how to reboot my macbook air,.. because starting it up was not successful. the screen just turns blue after the apple logo appeared.

    i know loads of people who have had this problem including me.  The Java script update apparently had some virus that has overloaded the start up disk.   I took to apple who said i have to have the machine rebuilt but first i have to go to a data recovery company to get back everything that was on it.  Data recovery company have quoted me nearly £1000.

    Leave the battery, sim card out for 10 min. Then try again. Doesn't work then wait for some more time. If it still doesn't work, someone may have changed the code without your knowledge. Your only solution is going to the Authorised Nokia Care. Pls take a proof of purchase along with you.
    Please mark the post as solution if it solves your problem.

  • Sun AppServer can't start

    Hi everybody.
    I hope this is the right forum to post this question. If not, I'm sorry. My problem is: I've just downloaded and installed J2EE SDK and when I try to run Sun AppServer, I get this error message from Java Virtual Machine Launcher saying "Can not find the main class".
    Has anybody encountered this kind of problem? I would be greatfull for any hint, since this is very frustrating.
    TIA
    P.S. I'm running windowsXP, if that might be relevant.

    I seem to have exactly the same problem. Also running XP professional.
    Just downloaded and installed J2EE 1.4
    < j2eesdk-1_4-dr-windows-eval.exe >
    and when I try to start < Start Default Domain > I get the message "Could not find the main class. Program will exit" from the Java Virtual Machine Launcher.
    The command prompt window shows the following text
    Starting Domain domain1, please wait.
    Log redirected to C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\logs\server.log.
    Timeout waiting for domain domain1 to go to starting state.
    CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1.
    Press any key to continue . . .
    and the log files shows a zero length, and appears blank/empty when you examin it.
    Any comments welcome, thanks Joe Cullity
