Plumtree 5.0.2 Portal - Webservice interaction from portlet
Hi,
What is the best way to build to portlet in Plumtree 5.0.2 Enterprise Portal (Now ALUI and Webcenter Interaction) to invoke a synchronous (send-receive) web service from the end user and display the result back on the portal page?
Two options I had in mind:
1) Build a remote application using Oracle ADF and consume it as a portlet in the Plumtree portal. - Saves time
2) Build a remote application using Microsoft SilverLight (UI framework) and consume it as a portlet. - Can reuse existing application
3) Build a standard JSR-168 portlet using Plumtree portlet development framework - Last option if 1 and 2 dont work
Kindly let me know what would be the best approach. Option 4 (if any) is also welcome
Thanks in advance
Vikas
are you using java or .net? personally i would use a div with some javascript to do an ajaxy call to a webservice that then fills the div's inner html property.

Redirect to Portal Login page from portlet
We have lots of applications on the portal and many of them need the logged in user information to provide the right display context. For example, "My Notes" where notes are stamped with the user's login id. Our portlet applications show exception messages when the user id is unavailable. Pressing a refresh button takes them to the portal login page.
Does anyone know how to redirect to the portal login page? Here is how I would like it to work: A user has the application up beyond the session timeout period and does something that causes the page to submit. At the application server we look for the logged in user ID which is missing due to session timeout and we send them to the portal login page.
Thanks! MikeHi James,
<br />
<br />I fear this isn´t possible to do with ADDT, as it will - when using its Restrict Access To Page behaviour - always redirect to the page you specified in the Control Panel.
<br />
<br />However you can help yourself with a simple custom PHP redirect script
<i>(place it @ @ line 1 of your document)</i> which checks whether the "kt_login_id" Session Variable is set, and if it´s not set, redirect to a different login page:
<br />
<br /><?php<br />if (!isset($_SESSION['kt_login_id'])) {<br />header('Location: http://www.example.com/directory/login.php') ;<br />}<br />?>
<br />
<br />Hint: users who login via a different login page will still be redirected to ADDT´s default login page when logging out
<br />

Portal Webservice from Portal Service
Hello community...
I'm trying to build a Portal Webservice from a Portal Service, but the wizard doesn't appear in my Portal Application Object. There are only Portal Components, Portal Services and a RF Component Wizard. Are there any options configuring the NWDS to show the other wizards like the "Portal Webservice from Portal Service" one or do I have an old version of the nwds (7.0.14)?Hi Ozzie,
in newer NWDS versions this wizard doesn't exist any more.
[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/1f/4554426dd13555e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/1f/4554426dd13555e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] describes how to create a web service from a portal service.
I personally didn't create a web service by this description however. I just created a normal Java class and created a Web Service out of this class (using EAR deployment). -
Where to find Portal WebService from Portal Service
Hello,
I've managed to create a portal service. i would now like to use it as a web service.
I've found document describing the process, however when try to create a portal object I'm proposed with the choice for portal service, Portal Componant and KM Componant , but not the needed "Web Service from portal Service" .
Does anyone know what you have to get/add/activate to have this option ?

Guillaume PATRYHi Guillame,
To expose your Portal Service as a Web Service, follow the steps :
1). Select the project containing the Portal Service you wish to expose as a web service.Generate Portal Web Service with PDK Wizard by choosing Portal Web Service From Portal Service.
2). Select the interface by clicking the browse button.You can only expose the interface that are defined in your Portal Service Project.
3). Select the method you want to expose to the web service.WSDL files will be generated.
4). The portalapp.xml will be automatically updated with the WSDL entries.
5). Deploy the Portal Service on Portal.
6). View the Web Service on Portal in the following path :
System Administration --> Support --> Portal Runtime --> SOAP Admin --> Web Services
7). The generated WSDL can be viewed with the URL :
http://<server>/irj/servlet/prt/soap/com.sap.portal.prt.soap.<servicename>.
Hope this does solves your problem.
Do award points if found helpful.
Thanks & Regards

Need help regarding configuring the WebService Call from RTD to Siebel
Hi All,
Can someone help me with the information on how do i configure a Webservice Call from RTD to Siebel?
Any high-level or granular details on this would be very helpful as I am new working on this product. How can a jax-ws be utilized to achieve the same?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
HariharanIf you actually need a portal service though, this will not work. However, you could have the portal service return a Document object, which is basically the text of the HTML file you want to display. Then, when calling the portal service, you can simply output the text to the IPortalComponentResponse object
I hope this helps

Portal WebService User Authentification error
Hello all,
I created a portal webservice similar to the one described in tutorial "Creating a Web Service in Enterprise Portal 6.0".
When I tried to test it in Enterprise Portal Web Services Checker I got the error below:
<b>The User Authentification is not correct to access to the Portal Service com.sap.portal.prt.soap.ContentService or the service was not found.</b>
I already added group Everyone to my service in Portal Permissions and it still does not work.
I read weblogs below but none helped me:
1 - Unable to access portal service from web service..........urgent
2 - IllegalAccessError when calling a WebService
I checked the proxy settings and it seems to be ok.
Does anyone have another suggestion?
Regards,
MauricioI found the reason.
I did not check End User checkbox for the Everyone group we inserted into Permissions of the Web Service.

From service market place http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks , choose NW04 or 04S. Choose source and destination patch, check WAS and others. From next page, you can check the box for studio alone for download.

How to transfer an xml file to NW Portal Knowledge Management from XI?
Hi all,
Anybody knows how to transfer an xml file to NW Portal Knowledge Management from XI?
What kind of adapter type I have to choose? And which procedures I have to do in KM Portal? Create a folder, what kind of folder and permissions?
Suggestions and ideas are appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo.Hi
Can anyone tell me how XI sends messages to applications like J2EE. In REceiver comm channel, I think we specify about the target system like J2EE appl.
Aadapter Type: HTTP
Receiver
Transport Protocol: HTTP1.0
Message Protocol: XI payload in HTTP body
Adapter Engine: Integration Server
Addressing Type: URL address
Target host: localhost
Service Number: 7001(Port number of Weblogic appl server--where my J2EE appl is deployed).
Path : /Invoke/DisplayRes/
Authentication Type:Use Logon Data for SAP System
Content Type: text/xml
Username: xiappluser
password: xx
XML code: UTF-8
I suppose XI sends msgs to http://localhost:7001/Invoke/DisplayRes/........
in this example if am correct?
Then I have given all tyhe necessary setting but my servlet is not able to display XML msg in browser?
This is my servlet code:
public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException
PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
BufferedReader brin =new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(request.getInputStream()));
String inputLine;
StringBuffer sBuf = new StringBuffer();

Change portal Page layout from Web Dynpro
I have some problem:
I need to rearrange Portal Page layout from 2 columns to 1 collumn from Dynpro action. Decision to hide 1 Column or resize its width to 0 is good idea, but I do not now how.
Absolute Navigation is wrong idea, because I need to go back to multiply IViews mode and I will lost my data context.
I saw PageService - custom Portal service, where I can resize IViews.
In my Netweaver 2004 this class is absent.
Probably exist some Portal events to manage Page layout? Anybody knows?
Thanks!Hi,
For this we have to use eventing among the webdynpro components of two different views.You can refer this example for this.
