Plus sign instead of data in form

I have begun using the Form feature in Adobe 8.0. I have made my forms using the Livecycle designer. I have received back completed forms via email and then I have entered the data in the actual form itself by hitting "import data." When doing so I've noticed that there are some responses that show a little bit of the answer but then there is this plus sign (+) and when I click on it, it allows me to see the rest of the response(by scrolling over).
My problem is when I print off the form, it still has this plus sign on there and it doesn't show the complete answer. The only way to see the entire response is if you scroll over on the form on the computer. I was wondering how you get it to show the entire response and get rid of the plus sign???
Any help would be appreciated.

Can you provide some XML data and your code for the form fields? It would be easier to help if you provide the information.
Thanks!

  • [SOLVED] Gnome and Arrows or Plus Signs?

    I have two machines -- oe at work and one at home. Both run Arch64, are updated with the latest released software (not using [testing]), both are using the same theme and icons and such -- Elemntary for the controls and window borders, Alpha1 for the icons.
    Here is my issue, though. At work, my tree views have a little black "arrow" next to them to drop down nodes. At home I have a "plus" sign instead. I can't figure out what is making the difference! I would prefer the arrows on BOTH, but I'd at least like to know why they are different! Here is a screenshot of the work machine (preferred result): http://www.dadburn.com/linuxscreenshots/arrows.png. I'll try to post one from home when I get there this evening.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    OK, I finally dug into this and solved it. It seems that there was either an old theme or remnants of some theme in my ~/.themes folder and/or ~/.icons folder that was perplexing the system. I removed all of the junk in there and the arrows came back.
    Posting this just in case anyone else has a similar problem in the future. (Or in case I have it again and need to search for an answer!)

  • Pound signs (####) returned instead of data

    I have a user that is experiencing a really odd problem. She is running a workbook, and one of the columns is returning pound signs (##########) instead of a number value. The really weird part is that some of the records return a number, and some return the pound sign. When I run this query in SQL, there are no problems. I have tried adjusting the format mask of this column in Discoverer Admin, but to no avail. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    Just to be sure you are changing the data format on the workbook for the data format within either Discoverer Plus or in Discoverer Desktop, correct? Your colums may also be too small to display the data properly, increase their width. It does sound like the data format mask is your problem though. Let me know if I can be of any help.

  • Plus sign after entering information in PDF Form

    Good morning!
    I have a PDF form that I made. I'm relatively new at this. Actually this is my first form and my boss is now wanting me to turn more of our forms into fillable PDF's. Which is fine. It was easy to figure out but now I am running into a problem where a plus sign is poping up after entering information. She wants me to fix it but seeing as I am playing around making these it's a bit above my head. Do you know how to get rid of these plus signs? Do you know why this is happening? It only seems to be doing it in these fields as well.
    Thanks for the help! It's greatly appreciated.

    The "+" is used to indicate an text overflow condition or there is more formatted text than can be displayed. One gets rid of this by either making the font size smaller or the size of the text field larger.
    Acrobat does not have a dynamic field type or a field that reflows to match the entered text. LiveCycle has this type of form and PDF format but mobile devices cannot yet process LiveCycle created forms.

  • Acrobat Form - Plus sign

    I am creating a form. When the value is negative ( I want a minus sign in front of the value, this of course works fine) But when I put a positive value, the positive value goes away, how do I make the positive value have a "plus sign" in front of it.
    This is the main thing I am trying to accomplish.
    Other things I would like (but these are things I could live without)
    1)I would like the values to have two decimal places.
    2)I would like the decimal places to be one of .00,0.25,0.50,0.75 (ie 5.75)
    3)Default value if no sign is put in would be preferred to be negative is possible.
    Thanks,
    Sandy

    Since you are using Acrobat, you are more likely to get a useful reply if you ask in the Acrobat forum.

    The + signs are appearing to indicate to you that there is more data in the field than there is visible on the screen. There are two solutions to this.
    1. Make the fields so that they can dynamically grow to fit the content that is entered into them. This involves re-engineering the form. There is a sample of this that ships with the product and is located at this location from the root of the designer install:
    EN\Samples\Forms\Purchase Order\Dynamic Interactive\Forms
    Have a look at the comments field at the bottom of the form. If you put in too much info then it will grow to show all data after you tab out of the field.
    2. You can have it so that the text that is inserted into the field can shrink to fit the visible area. This is the easier of the solutions. To do this, set the field up to allow multi-line and limit length to visible area. Then on the Font palette, click on the right arrow below the Font tab (beside the text "currently editing caption and value"). Choose the Edit Value option. The text will update to say "currently editing Value properties. Change the font size to 0 (you will have to type in a 0. Now when the amount of text exceeds the visible area the font size will drop a value to allow you to see all text. This can be a negative as well for if we put too much text in then the font becomes so small that we connot read it.....but it is easier.
    Hope this helps

  • Not able insert ,query data from forms

    hi,
    I am not able to insert data or query data from forms(10g devsuite).getting error frm-40505,frm 40508 .i am able to insert and select record from sql plus.the block ihave created is control block .it is connected to the table using the properties.
    should i do anything to insert record.please help

    the block ihave created is control block .it is connected to the table using the properties.A Control Block, by definition, is a non-database block. This means the block is not directly connected to a table so you have to manually display data in the block and any DML you want to perform on data in this block you must do manually as well.
    There are four database objects you can base your database block on; 1) a Table, 2) a View, 3) From Clause Query (basically an In-line View), and 4) a database stored procedure. I recommend you use one of these four methods rather than manually display your data.

  • Clicking on LinkTitle in list opens allitems instead of custom application form

    Hello, This question is pertaining to SharePoint 2010.
    I have one list which has two content types. We have modified the detault forms (new,edit and display) of each content type to its individual custom application pages. We have done this through coding.
    SPContentType CT1= requestsList.ContentTypes["CT1"];
    //Change Edit and edit URL to custom application page
    CT1.NewFormUrl = "_layouts/folder/customnewapplicationpage.aspx;
    CT1.EditFormUrl = "_layouts/folder/customeditapplicationpage.aspx;
    CT1.DisplayFormUrl = "_layouts/folder/customdisplayapplicationpage.aspx;
    //Delete the default from to enable custom application pages.
    CT1.XmlDocuments.Delete("http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/v3/contenttype/forms/url");
    web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
    CT1.Update();
    list.Update();
    And same update for the other content type. Everything works well.
    When we click on new, custom new form opens, when we click on edit, custom edit form opens, when we click on view item, custom view form opens for respective content type. The problem is when we click on linktitle field value in allitems.aspx, it opens up
    allitems.aspx page instead of opening display form as model dialog which is does when we click on view item by either selecting in ECB menu or from ribbon.
    On custom application pages, I am using SharePoint:SaveButton to save values so that I do not need to write down the code.
    I just tested one thing that, if we have our custom button and if we write traditional way to inserting list item into the list with specifying ContentTypeId in list item, then this problem does not appear. This is when SharePoint:SaveButton is clicked and
    item is saved, at this time problem appears. I prefer going with SharePoint:SaveButton as I have more than 70 fields on the form and do not want to write a code to set values for 70 fields by doing SPList.AddItem()
    According to me, SharePoint:SaveButton is saving list item inside folder because when we update the view and set to show items without folder, I cannot see list items saved using SharePoint:SaveButton click. But when i switch back to show items with
    folder, all items appear. This may be the reason when I click on LinkTitle directly on that hyperlink, it opens up AllItems.aspx with FolderCTId={} as one of the query string.
    Any pointers would be highly appreciated.

    Hi,
    We can do as follows:
    1. Change the URL of Title field to the URL of custom application page using JavaScript.
    2. Create a calculated column and set formula: ="<a href='"&UrlFieldName&"'>"&Title&"</a>", then we can use it as a “Title” column.
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/58954/link-title-in-list-to-value-in-url-column
    3. If you want to customize list form and use  SharePoint:SaveButton control to save the data, the following articles for your reference:

  • Plus signs displaying in calculated field

    I have created a form with a table that has a row that calculates automatically. I then created another form that I copied and pasted the table into. In the second form, when my users display or print the form with Adobe 7.0 Standard, the calculating field now displays a plus sign when nothing is entered to calculate. How do I make the plus sign disappear?

    Actually, that was my first instinct as well, but it is not the issue. No matter how large I make the fields, no matter where I put them (IE not touching any other fields) - the plus signs still display. The really frustrating thing is that they won't display for me, just for other users. I have Adobe 7.0 Pro and we have just updated our users with Adobe 7.0 Standard. The plus signs do not display for me, but they do for the other users. To make the problem even less consistent, I had the exact same table in another form and in that form the users have used that table without any issues. I merely copied and pasted the table into the new form. I can't see any settings that have been changed. Any ideas?? Even a work around would be great.
    Thanks,
    Rebecca

  • Data entry form to submit to a web Service using webcenter

    Currently using Jdev 11.1.1.3, but have potential to upgrade to 11.1.1.4 or 5
    Most examples I see in the docs is using web services in webcenter is to display data but I need to pass data to a web service to process the data.
    Considering ways to show on a webcenter page a data entry form to send the entered data to a web service. Potential ways:
    1. Use Omniportlet that is based on a web service and define for each of the fields a parameter mapped to a displayed field. Submit the data to the web service to be processed.
    2. Use ADF syntax to create a web service proxy. Create a form with the needed fields, code a managed bean that uses the proxy code to submit the entered data in the form. Place the form on the webCenter page, but the webcenter already have a <af:form>, so a partialSubmit and autoSubmit set to "true" might be needed.
    Haven't used either and would greatly appreciate ideas and suggestions.
    Thanks

    With the omniportlet, you'll also have to test the form and so on :)
    My suggestion is indead an extra step but it is more flexible than just creation a DC from a WSDL. I already have done some implementation in Webcenter for web services and i started by just using the DC from a WSDL but soon i noticed that i needed more flexibility. That's why i suggest to create a proxy and create your own layer in front of it. This way you can easily control what you expose to your DC and do some initializations were needed. It offers a great deal of flexibility. That's why i suggest using the proxy + dc instead of wsdl + dc.
    When you should decide for migrating to Webcenter PS3, you can even expose datacontrols to your resource catalog. This way you can create your DC in JDeveloper and allow the business users to put the data controls on the page. a realy nice feature.

  • I can't see the "plus" sign in my upper right corner ind the calendar!?

    I can't see the "plus" sign in my upper right corner ind the calendar!?

    In my database connection i can`t see the plus sign on the
    database tab.
    Not quite clear to me what you mean by that. In any case, you
    should configure the data source in the Coldfusion Administrator.
    Open the CF Admin page,
    http://127.0.0.1:8500/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm
    . Go to the
    Data Sources section. Create a new datasource, for example,
    by entering the following
    Data Source Name:
    eventplanning
    Driver:
    Microsoft Access with Unicode
    Press the
    Add button. Enter the value
    Database File:
    C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\cafe_townsend\contact\coldfusion\eventplanning.mdb
    Press the
    Submit button. Coldfusion will then verify the connection to
    the database. Confirm that its status is
    OK. If so, the eventplanning datasource is configured for
    use in your Coldfusion application.

  • Missing "plus" sign within CONTACTS

    I upgraded my wife's iPhone 3GS to iOS5; now the "plus" sign is missing under CONTACTS. I've tried to RESTORE; tried just about everything.
    She can add a number/contact after she's called it - but not from the CONTACTS App.

    When I upgraded my iPhone to iOS5 Apple did not warn me that as a consequence I would be forced to upgrade my Mac to Lion - otherwise none of my calenders, mail and contacts would synch anymore. My phone would therefore be  - redundant! After the phone was upgraded, all of my apps were gone. I had to plug it into iTunes and then run the sequence again, just as though I had never done it the first time. The apps were restored. Not impressive, though - why didn't the apps just restore when I ran the upgrade the first time? Confusing or what?!
    When I moved from Mobile Me to Cloud - so that my computers and devices could actually synch again - I again had to run the whole process twice. Now I have dual sets of accounts, one for Mobile Me "Cloud" and one for "Cloud Cloud". *** is that about... At this moment Mail on my laptop and my desktop has frozen while upgrading the data base. But that's for another thread... Not cool. Yes, I'm pretty ****** off that my time is being wasted like this.

  • Little plus sign in the bottom right of cell

    I am new to Numbers. I just set up a spreadsheet with a date. I went to the inspector to specify the format for the date, I did the time as well. When I went back to my cell there was a plus sign which I took to mean that there was more content. So, I looked and saw the time. I took out the time in the inspector but the plus sign is still there. Does anyone know why?

    This behaviour is clearly described in the Numbers User Guide which every user may download from the Help menu.
    Your cell width is too small to accomodate the embedded value.
    Enlarge the column or change the font size.

  • Plus sign or insert record button on toolbar

    Hi there,
    What trigger fires when insert record button or plus sign from toolbar is clicked?
    Thanks

    Thanks for answering my question.
    Now I created a KEY-CREREC trigger with code
    1. I have a procedure that enables some fields and go_item('block.item1')
    2. create_record;
    There are 2 undesirable things that are occuring
    1. user queries records, clicks on plus sign, the cursor does not go to the 1st field in the block even though i say go_item(block.item1)
    2. to exit without saving the record, i have to click on remove record and then exit. is there a way of exiting out of the form without clciking on remove record button
    Thanks a lot

  • How to display positive value with a trailing plus sign

    I want to display positive value with a trailing plus sign and negative value with a trailing minus sign. How can I do it? Is there any character in custom format for this? I don't want to convert number to text and use case statement because I need two decimal places and thousands separator.

    Okay, try this...
    You will need to do a "UNION ALL" of three queries, one for positive values, one for zero values, and one for negative values.
    In the "negative values" query, do the following:
    1) Add a filter on the measure for values "less than 0"
    (This will ensure all values are negative.)
    2) In the Data Format tab, select "Custom" and type in #,##0.00-
    (This will add the trailing negative sign.)
    3) In the Edit Formula tab, add the absolute value function, ABS(insert measure here)
    (This will take get rid of the default leading negative sign.)
    For the "positive values" query, modify the above as follows:
    1) Change the filter to "greater than 0"
    2) In the Data format, change the custom format to #,##0.00+
    Step 3 is not needed since all values are positive.
    For the "zero values" query, just add a filter "equal to zero."
