PO approver different by company code

Hi,
I am working on setting up the PO release stratey at my client. They request that a notification is sent to the approver when a PO gets blocked. I was able to successfully activate the standard workflow and receive the notification. I am doing this by using positions in the organisation unit (t-code PPOCE) and not user names.
But here's the complexity: They have hundreds of company codes, and for each company code, the approver could be different. I know I can create a release code for each different approver, but I rather minimize the amount of data in the PO release configuration. Is there a way I can assign a position or an organisation unit to a company code?
Any help for how I can do this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Alas84

Consider this example:
I have 2 company codes, 1000 and 2000.
in CC 1000 - the manager is X
in CC 2000 - the manager is Y
I create a PO in CC 1000 - it needs to be sent to user X
I create a PO in CC 2000 - it needs to be sent to user Y.
I create 2 release codes:
01 - Manager X
02 - Manager Y
My release strategy will need to be based by CC (all the other fields in my classification are the same for both CC) so I will have 2 release stratagies with two different release codes. This works.
The problem is: I have 100s of company codes and I don't want to have 100 different release codes. I am trying to do this by using only 1 release code (01 - Manager). And based on the CC, the manager is either X or Y (defiend in the org structure). is that possible?
Thanks.

  • FI Number Range Number by Document Type -- different by company code

In transaction <b>OBA7</b>, I assign a <b>number range number</b> (T003-NUMKR) to each FI Document Type.
We have over 40 company codes on SAP.  One of those 40 company codes requires sequential numbering of FI documents for the whole company code across all document types.  The other company codes require different FI number ranges based upon document type.
I need to identify a solution where I can assign a different <b>number range number</b> by document type for different company codes.
For instance, company code IT01 should use a single <b>number range number</b> for all FI documents -- i.e. RV, SA, AB, etc. Then, all other company codes should use a different <b>number range number</b> for each document type.
Any ideas here?  My problem company code is in Italy where our accountants tell us all FI Documents must be sequential, without gaps.

    Hi Colin,
The point is that it is about journal<b>s</b>
Sales Journal = Doc type RV
Cash Sales Journal = Doc Type DR or have RV&DR use the same number range.
For clearing you will have to create new doc types eg.
                        AB = GL Clearing
                        KB = Creditor clearing
                        DB = Debitor clearing
The existing companies will also have to use these since these defaults are set in customising, but you have clearly defined Journals that comply with the requirements
It is probable that you will need additional doc types,to ensure compliance. In my case all creditor invoices used Doc type KR/KG (SAP Standard and they use the same number range), for the Italian company i then had:-
                     KR/KG = Domestic Purchase Journal
New Doc Type = EU Purchase Journal
         etc.
    Kind regards

  • Is it possible to assign existing plant to different new company code

    Hello,
we have created one company code  and two plants A001 and A002 plants.  Both plants are having some entries.(created So. PO. scheduling agreements )
Now business decided that ,they want to assign A002 plant to another company code. Is it possible to add this to new company code.
Before   A000 company code was having two plants A001 and A002.
Is it possible to Add A002 plant to Different company code?

    Hi,
If u assign the same existing plant to another company code then it will lead to inconsistencies since there will be old and new purchasing documents created for that plant even after " clearing" your open  pur documents like PO,GR,IR sched agmt etc
so I think the best way is to
    1. close all existing open entries in that plant
    2. create a new plant in other company code by copying the old one
    3. Assign new plant to diff co code
    4. To stop further transactions in it just De activate old plant  and also by doing this previous  "Transaction History remains intact" -
    5. Extend required Material Masters for this new plant in diff co code
    Hope this helps u !

  • Valuation differs from company code to company code

    Dear Experts,
I need to create a material wgich will be valuated on a company code and will not be valuated on another company code
how can i do such a thing ... could I use Split Valuation for example ??
    Thanks

I need to create a material wgich will be valuated on a company code and will not be valuated on another company code
how can i do such a thing ... could I use Split Valuation for example ??
Whether a material is valuated or not is determined by the value update setting. Value update setting is controlled trough material type.
SPRO > Logistics - Genral > Material Master > Basic Settings > Material Types > Define Attributes of Material Types
Here select the material type and choose "Quantity/value updating" in the left navigation section. Now, you can carry out your settings for the desired plants.
You can see, that the setting is valid for a material type and not for a separate material master. Via split valuation you cannot set a material to "not valuated".
As a "workaround" you can use standard price control ("S") under the desired company code / plants (based on your valuation level) and maintain the lowest possible price for your product...

  • Version 4.6c Cross Company Code Incoming payment to lockbox.

In version 4.6c I am trying to find out the correct IMG configuration for processing incoming payments to a lockbox when multiple companies are using one company for banking.  Here is what I have done so far:
Here are the company codes:  2100 has house banks and lockbox set up.
0980 does not have house bank or lockbox.
OX16 - all both company codes involved are assigned to the same Company.
OBVU - Non-bank company code  0980 has 2100 set up as Paying Company Code
OBYA - Clearing accounts have been set up between 0980-2100.
OB05 - Accounting Clerk has been set up for both company codes.
OB10 - Lockbox from 2100 has been set up  for 0980.  Even though 0980 does not have a House bank set up, IMG Configuration did allow the lockbox and house bank for 2100 to be saved under 0980.
OB96 - Forms to be used were linked to 0980
One issue we are having is that when we attempt to set up a Customer for 0980 a field for Lockbox is required to be entered.  When the 2100 Lockbox is input, an error message pops up saying that 0980 does not have a House Bank.
Can someone please explain how to complete the configuration for this type of activity in version 4.6c?  Also should we be using F-28, FB05 or some other t-code to post incoming payments.

    Hello,
You can post the cross company code postings even between two controlling areas. The system does not prevent to post documents between two company codes in two controlling area. Need not necessarily they should be under one operating concern. Provided you have to make sure that you have followed the following points:
In OBY6 - To company codes must be assigned to same Company, meaning that you mus thave created a Company and that company must have been assigned to these two company codes.
OBYA - You should maintain the clearing accounts in both the company codes. Meaning that you are posting one leg in one company code and the other leg in the other company. Therefore, it is required to have the missing legs in each company code.
    Company Code1 - Posting Key 40 - Clearing Account
    Company Code1 - Posting Key 50 - Clearing Account
    Company Code2 - Positng Key 40 - Clearing Account
    Company Code2 - Posting Key 50 - Clearing Account
OB08 - In case if the two company codes have different local (company code) currencies, you may maintain the exchange rates.
You can now go to F-02 and post a cross company code transaction giving the first leg in first company code and the second leg in second company code. Missing leg in the first company code will be posted to the GL Account mentioned in OBYA and the missing leg in the second company code will be posted to the GL Account mentioned in OBYA. That means you will have four line items overall.
The system will post three document.
Document 1 in First Company Code
Document 2 in Second Company Code
    and
Document3 - Cross Company Code Document.
The cross company code document consists of the first company code document number plus company code plus last two digits of the fiscal year.
Hope this must have clarified your doubts.
Please let me know in case if you need further details.

  • Collection strategy: one customer in multiple company codes

    Hi,
we look into CM at the moment and have the following requirement:
There is one customer who has business with different companies (company codes).
the collection for these kind of customer should be based on the customer across all companies and not within each.
If customer ZZZ is in company code 1000, 2000 and 3000 and it would be necessary to have only one collection specialist on this customer across all companies.
    How would you do this?
    Thanks  + Regards
    Hein

    Hi,
You can create a new collection segment containing all the required company codes and assign that segment to the customer profile to be used for this customer.  This would enable you to assign the same specialist and same collection strategy.  In your process receivables you will get the consolidated data for this customer.  However when you process it, you will get individual detailed receivable due for individual company codes.

Can anybody tell me the following requirement for our client ...
In cross company code clearance, will it be possible to limit only TWO company codes, so that it would be easy for reconcile the accounts.
Your early response is highly appreciated.
    Regards

    Hello,
I am not able to understand your query. You may explain with a business case example to get better reply.
The following text may be useful.
    Hello,
You can post cross company code transactions, means first leg in first company code and the second leg in second company code. Therefore, in first company code you need an offsetting entry to balance the document, in the same way in second company code you need an offsetting entry to balance the document. Therefore, you need to configure OBYA.
You can post the cross company code postings even between two controlling areas. The system does not prevent to post documents between two company codes in two controlling area. Need not necessarily they should be under one operating concern. Provided you have to make sure that you have followed the following points:

  • Please help . Wrong company code and wrong cos

    Dear All,
We have encounter a big problem in a project. It shows that let say project A have different :
    1st. company code
Req Co code : FNW and Company code in assignment tab IGW.
By right it req.co code should be IGW.
    2nd. Wrong Req cost center
Req Cos center : FNWMW2201, by right it should be IGW2201.
I have adviced user to reverse all actual documents but they said it is impossible since they already paid all payment invoice.
What should i do for this project ?
*. Is there any way to transfer the cost from project A to project B (new project)
*. How to transfer the AUC from project A to project B (new project)
    Please advice.
    Thank you.
    Nies

    Hi Nies,
You can go ahead in transferring Cost from Project-1 to Project-2 without going with Project Settlement. This will happen through accounting entry in F-02 as Project settlement may n't be ideal on this situation. Please follow the steps.
    1. Make Cost posting (Same as Cost booked against wrong WBSE) to your new Project through F-02. This will lead to Cost posting to new Project with correct organisatio structure
    2. Knock-off the cost wrongly posted to Project. i.e. Revese the amount of Cost posted to Projects
Use transaction f-02, make credit into some cost object & debit the WBSE from where cost has to be reversed.
In this method Cost will be posted to new Project with Correct WBSE & same amount will be reversed from wrong WBSE.
Without following two steps, in a single step also you can knock-off cost i.e. credit / debit from WBSE subjected to assignment of G/L in both company code. When you will debit cost you can assign wrong WBSE & credit will happen to new WBSE.
For assets you can also follow the above method.
    Hope this solve your issue.

If possible ,Can anybody provide a procedure to do the configuration of Cost Component structure

    Hello,
As I understand your question, All the thing which are releted to costing are done only at the controlling area level not at company code.
As your req diffrent cost componenet for diffrent company code is depend up on how you define the controlling area.

  • Creating Workflows for a Corporation with Different Company Codes

    Hi,
We have just done a roll-out for Company A which is part of a big corporation (group of companies).
The system version implemented  is ECC 6.0 with  modules (HR,MM,FI,DBM)
I have implemented and rolled out  several workflows (Leave,PR,PO, Payment approval)for Company A and am now expected to do the same workflows for Company B,the business processes as per flowcharts remain the same as for Company A.
Company A uses company code 1000, while company B will use company code 2000.
Users in Company B will log in to the same PRD servers.
Some approvers of workflow in company A will be responsible for some workflow approvals for staff in company B though HR have completed implementing an org structure for company B.
Is it possible to use the same workflow templates  by saving them in a different name and change the agents to reflect company B org,if so how do I go about it?
In future we will also roll-out to Company C.
What is the best way to do it and save time as well.
    Thank you.
    Missa

    Hi
Consider a scenario like EMPB  who belongs to CMP B has applied a leave and EMPA manager of EMPB who belongs to CMP A,
Now in order to send the leave request for approval to EMPA you can define or create a rule from PFAC transaction. in such a way that
    1. First try to get the initiator details like his personnel number.
    2. Once you have the Employee number , by using it you can read hi Org Assignment details from PA0001 to get employee sepecifc compnay code.
    3. BAsed on the employee group and sub group you might have to decide who is manager I hope this would be defined already in the org structure.
    4. Once you know who is the manager , get his position details and from it get holder and his communications info from PA0105.
IN this way if you define a rule by calling a function module. You can make use of the same workflow. but based on the initiator  details you need to dort out the manager.
The simple way is to define and impement the Rules dynamically to fetch the agents based on the Personel are/sub are and employee group and sub group.

  • Workflow for approval Plant/Company code wise

    Dear Gurus,
I am new to work-flow I want to change my work-flow according to company/plant wise .
Right now we have made a workflow with two release levels one for purchase and second for Finance.
We have got two companies under one client and same controlling area. But both companies have different company codes.
When Po is sent for approval the alert mail is given in SAP-inbox of approving authorities according to category like Spare,Raw material etc.
But due to same workflow the mail goes to both companies authorized persons so what happens person from one company is giving approvals for another company. So we want to sent mails to SAP inbox according to their company codes or if this is not possible than plant wise.
    Thanks in advance
    Himanshu

    Hi,
As per requirement i think your workflow is working fine in particular plant, if yes means in your workflow container is there any company code is available please confirm the company code in workflow container
if company code is available means then you all just want to do is you need to bind the company code to your business rules and your open sql query should be based on company code also, then your agent assignment will automatically work for different plant.
    Hope this helps,

Do the following steps for STO Customizing:-
    1. Create a customer master record for the issuing plant.
    2. Create a vendor master record for the issuing plant, and enter customer account number in the Customer field on the Control screen.
    3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the receiving plant.
    4. Assign the plants to the customer master record in Customizing for Materials Management (MM), by choosing Purchasing <Purchase Order < Set Up Stock Transport Order< Plants.
The Process Flow would be as follows :-
Create a stock transport order, following the standard procedure, and send the order to the issuing plant.
Issuing plant has processes your order, and when it is ready to ship, the storeperson at the issuing plant issues the goods using a transfer posting. The excise clerk there creates an excise invoice. The excise supervisor verifies and posts the excise invoice. It then sends the goods to you, together with the excise invoice.
Once the goods arrive, you follow the standard procedure for incoming excise invoices:
The excise clerk captures the excise invoice, using the stock transport order as the reference document. The storeperson enters the goods receipt, again using the stock transport order as the reference document.Alternatively, you can first enter the goods receipt and then capture the excise invoice.
The excise supervisor then posts the excise invoice.
