Podcast graphic

is there anywhere i can get that purple podcast graphic that apple uses? i would like to use it on my iWeb site for the podcast section. i don't know if they allow people to use it, but it seems to me that i saw it on somebody's site once.

Podcast graphic not showing Iweb rss not the same as Technotes

I noticed that the graphic for my podcasts are not showing in itunes. Pinged and changed them to 300*300 jpg.and changed name of file and you can get to the file from the url. Week later still no change but text updates ok. Just have the generic file. Also the categories in Iweb are out of date so need to use a find and replace to fix them al the time.
Anyone else got the same problem?

Make sure your rss feed is all ok by going here http://www.feedvalidator.org/
and putting in your fee which is

Fill in all the(yoursitename) with your sitename like jeffrobinson.
Now yours may be different but you can see the path by going to your .mac in the finder and looking in the Web folder, then the sites folder, then the iWeb folder, and there is your site name on the enclosed folder. Remember that any spaces in a name are %20 in the url. Clear as mud eh?
The other way is to look at your iWeb site in iWeb, find your podcast page on the left and the first main page of your podcast is the rss feed you need to validate so surf to it in safari and copy the url and put it in the validator above. Look at the results and tell me what they are or just send me the url here and Ill have a look for you. OK?

Can't see my podcast graphic in iTunes

Hi All,
I've had a podcast available on iTunes for about 5 weeks now. The URL is http://5Songs.com I have a graphic that is a 1400 x 1400 pixels .png as recommended by iTunes. It doesn't show up in iTunes. It resides at WordPress.com through Feedburner. I have placed the URL of the graphic into feedburner and the graphic shows up there. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nor do you have any 'itunes:...' tags including 'itunes:image' without which your image cannot appear in the Store.<<
Part of my confusion is, when you say the "second tag" where were you finding that? It sounds like if I knew where to change that I could fix the problem? Was that somewhere in my feed, or somewhere at iTunes? Sorry, I'm not really experienced at working with raw code stuff....

Are graphics larger than 300x300 possible in GarageBand enhanced podcasts?

I would like to migrate away from Podcast Maker and start using GarageBand. However, as far as I can tell, GarageBand limits enhanced podcast graphics to 300x300 pixels. This is not even nice on modern iPods. Is there a hack to make larger graphics possible? I am looking for at least 640x480 which is possible with Podcast Maker. The button to not force graphics to 300x300 seems non-functional as graphics end up at this size regardless of the status of that check-box.

I used to have the setting on my iPod set to have the backlit display on during our graphically enhanced podcast too. The only problem, and the reason I switched it back, was that it causes the battery to go down a lot faster. So that is something to consider too. But as far as I know, the user has to change that setting themselves.

Linking to my Podcast with "Subscribe with iTunes" Graphic?

I've got the video podcast. No problems there. BUT all the other cool videobloggers have a nice purple graphic that directs folks to their podcast in itunes directly! I know all about the ctr-click to get the link, but where are people getting the graphic? Are they making it themselves? I've search all over the mac site and come up mptyhanded.

I don't know what specific graphic you mean, but these might be useful. Or if you have photoshop, you can make your own.

Enhanced Podcast- Can I fill the iphone-iTouch screen with graphic

I have successfully created enhanced podcasts with SoundTrack Pro, and I can pre format all the graphics for the graphic track to be 640x360 or 480x272.
But, is there anyway currently to have this enhanced podcast graphics track behave like the iPhone-iTouch treats a movie file, that is fill the screen in landscape mode?

Graphics not loading

I'm having trouble with my site http://web.mac.com/mlbridge/Site/Home.html. Even after publishing several times, it seems to lose the 'made with mac' graphic and the 'RSS' graphic and the "podcast" graphic. Some of my pages they work and some they don't, I dunno why!

Tysclan2 - It's hard to know for sure, but what I would do in iWeb is turn on the layout outline (View / Show Layout ) and make sure that different elements, text boxes, graphics, & photos are not overlapping. Resize when needed. Then publish to a folder and view it on your computer before uploading to .Mac. Keep us posted. - Fabe

What, if any, podcast info is permanent in iTunes (vs. author control)?

I successfully submitted a podcast to ITMS. I'd like to make some changes to how it shows up in ITMS, image, meta data, etc. Is there anything that, once submitted and approved by ITMS, cannot be changed by the submitter? For example, the category and sub-genre, etc., and/or anything thing else? Also, how often does ITMS reconnect to the .xml feed file on one's server? My podcast graphic file and the one .mp3 episode have changed, and while the podcast and episode shows up in ITMS -- the meta data and graphic haven't been updated, and the episode no longer plays. I am currently not able to locate my podcast using the search in the iTMS. I have since edited my XML file to include the "keyword" tags and still it does not work for me. How long did you have to wait until your editing was implemented???

Difficulty downloading episodes from my feed

I'm having difficulty uploading podcasts from my tumblr website through googles feedburner to itunes.

Do I put enclosure tags for every post that has a podcast? What do I put for length for each enclosure tag? How do I convert that from mb? Please show where I need to put the enclosure tags because I'm not familiar with this whole process. I thought smartcast was supposed to take care of this but I guess not.
I uploaded my files to internetarchive.org, which is like dropbox but compatible with itunes. I linked the files from there.
Do I change the information from the source code or just the individual posts themselves with the linked audio files on my tumblr webite? Or is that something I change on my google feedburner account?

OS 3.1.2 Problems

Is anyone else encountering these problems or better yet know how to solve them?
1. My podcast graphics (within the podcast menu) are showing up as graphics of videos on the touch instead of those associated with the podcast download.
2. The screen capture (home plus power button) no longer functions.

I'm not sure why but my problem appears to have solved itself partially. When I enable 3G I now get full cell service as I did before instead of a weak signal. (Disabling 3G gave me full service which I wasn't happy with but it was more important to get cell service than data at 3G)
Anyways, here's what I did though I'm not sure it helped at all (Maybe my service provider ROGERS was doing some work on 3G service, although nobody else had the same issue).
- backed up iPhone
- I restored my phone a 2 times without success.
- Decided to blank out the entire iphone and set up the iphone from scratch without any improvement.
- I was able to load the backup on to the iphone bringing me back to where i was at step 1
- Disabled 3G mode for a few days and decided today I was going to try it out and see if enabling 3G would still reduce my cell signal and surprisingly it didn't!
I seem to now have the issue where wifi signal is intermittently weak but at least I have 3G with full cell service.
I realize the above doesn't present much of a solution but maybe it's related as I was running 3.1.2 fine for quite a while before the 3G no service issue appeared.
Maybe it was a temporary glitch with Rogers' network.

I ping and it gets received, but I don't see updates and my graphic has NEVER shown up?

For instance, the White House has a branded page holding al they're 'casts, as does Business Week and Purina.
However, the ponly image information I can locate is for the small 300x300 requirements for the individual 'casts.
Can someone direct me to the right resource materials for the branded page?

You don't edit your podcast in iTunes, if that's what you are asking: it works entirely from the feed. You have to make any changes in the feed, and re-upload it. Whatever method you used to create the podcast - a program or an online service - is where you need to make any changes.

Can't add graphic to podcast submission window

I posted a video podcast to iTunes but I can't drag a graphic into the submission window. I am using Freestyle so its the skateboarder. When the podcast appears in iTunes it just has a grey square graphic.
Any ideas?

Here is what the help page says.
Make sure the "Allow Podcast in iTunes Music Store" checkbox is selected >and >then choose File > Submit Podcast to iTunes.
In the Submit window, enter the information you want to include in your >podcast.
Some information—such as the fields you completed in step 3—may already >appear in the Submit window.
If you have artwork you want to appear with your podcast, drag it to the >graphic placeholder at the top of the Submit window.
Click “Publish and Submit.”
In the freestyle template there is a graphic of a guy jumping on a skateboard. I am guessing that this photo is the "graphic placeholder" I still can't replace that photo.
The update didn't change anything in this submit podcast window that I could see.

Forms do nothing by themselves. You'll need a script to process the form data. Ask your host which form to email processing script you can use on your server. Often they will point you to one. If they don't, there are some services or 3rd party scripts you can use to collect data from your site.
