    Hi Harini,
    I have to call more than 10 RPC encoded webservice from Enterprise Portal for a single scenario(Business Process). Calling many webservices are possible using XI/PI (BPM). But RPC encoded webservices I can't create it from XI, so please let me know the steps to do it using Enterprise portal.

  • Exposing a webservice on ECC 5.0 in a load balancing setup

    Hi
       We have a webservice exposed on ECC 5.0 that is being invoked by an external system. When we move this webservice to our production environment - which is load balanced and has a logon group setup - we need to be able to expose this webservice - not on a single application server - but be available on the logon group ( message server ) so that the url that we provide for the webservice to the external system does not contain  a single application server - but points to the logon group. We do not have a web dispatcher in our environment/architecture.
    How do we go about exposing this point-to-point webservice on ECC 5.0 in a load balanced setup ? Any suggestions, experiences that can be shared ?

    This  can be done though SICF.
    If you click on a service, their is a service data tab.
    underthat tab is a Load Balancing option.
    This then points the service at the SMLG logon group.

    James

  • Provider Webservice in Backend ECC system (NW 7.0, Enp1) and PI /XI 7.0,

    Hello
    Our backend ECC is on EnhP4 (there by NW 7.0, EnhP1), As I understand, since NW 7.0, SP 14, webservices runtime has been changed significantly to support asynchronous webservices (through WS-RM).
    This ECC system is connected to our PI 7.0 system. In the back end ECC system, when I create ABAP server proxy for a synchronous interface from SPROXY, the generated proxy is also visible as a service in SOAMANAGER. However, when I do the same for asynchronous interface, the service is not visible in SOAMANAGER.
    Is this an expected behavior? Does this mean, we can only expose 'out side in' approach webservices in synchronous mode if the ESR is of version 7.0? The reason I say this is when I connect the same ECC system a PI 7.1 system, I am able to expose asynchronous services that are generated out of SPROXY.
    The intent here is to design the interfaces in XI 7.0, expose them as web service in ECC and consume the webservice using another EAI tool that supports WS-RM.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    KK

    Stefan
    Thanks. Your answer makes sense with what we are observing. Do you know if this is documented somewhere in help documentation or some note.
    On another note what doesn't make sense to me is why this limitation? Not sure what I am missing. Doesn't the webservice runtime in NW 7.0 support WS-RM from SP14. Why should it be dependent on the version of PI in case of point to point webservice. Unless you say we can use WS-RM in back end NW 7.0 through PI 7.1's WS adapter only.
    For me this sounds like a limitation on the NW 7.0/SP14 side. What do you think?

    I have a requrirement to throlle the number of concurrent requests going to an end point.
    So i have used OSB business service where in i am calling an end point webservice, and configured a work manager in console and selected it in the dispatch policy
    I deployed the workmanager on managed server. i specified max concurrent threads as 3.
    I tried to test it and see that throttling doesnt really work.. All the requests sent are being sent at once not 3 at a time.
    The expected behavior is first 3 sdhud go and then onc ethey complete next 3 similary next 3. But i dont see that behavior. Please let me know if i am doing any worng

    If you need to throttle the Business service, then you should configure the throttling parameters in the Business Service -> Operational Settings tab
    Choose your Business Service in the OSB Console -> Operational Settings
    Throttling -Check this box to enable the throttling. Maximum Concurrency to 3, and Throttling Queue to x number of messages you wish to hold in the throttling queue

  • Deploy jw webservice to cluster server, always point to 9081

    i have cluster server(9081, 9082, 9083), when i deploy the helloword webservice generated by jwsc http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/webserv/use_cases.html,
    the dynamical wsdl always point to 9081,<s2:address location="http://localhost:9081/HelloWorldImpl/HelloWorldService" /> even when i invoke the service on 9082, http://localhost:9082/HelloWorldImpl/HelloWorldService?WSDL
    i tried generate webservice by axis it works fine. i gooled, couldn't find solution. thx.

    Thanks for looking into it. Clean cache doesn't work for me. Since it works fine for you. I think the issue might related to create/deploy ear file. i don't have cluster setup on my local, so i created ear file and deployed to our DEV(unix) server thru admin console. the web-uri in application.xml generated by the jwsc contains the path examples/webservices/hello_world/HelloWorldImpl.war, instead of HelloWorldImpl.war. i have to manually updated the uri, otherwise i got "not be able to identifiy application path ......war" during install. Since Axis works fine cluster config should be ok. Do you mind share how you config the cluster and how to generate the ear file? this are the two possible places i can think of. i also tried set FrontEnd HTTP Port for each server, still didn't work.
    May i know are you tech support from weblogic? i am trying to find way to create ticket for weblogic tech support for this issue. thx.

  • Unable to reach Webservice End Point in CE

    Hi all,
            I wanted to publish one RFC based webservice that is created in one of the WebApplication server in the 'Services Registry' of CE .For this i executed following steps:
            1. Created UDDI entry in WebAS using a particular PORT by     transaction 'WSPARAM'.
            2. This port is using the RFC destination which points to Services Registry
              of composition environment.
           3. Published
                          i) Physical system
                          ii) WS definition
                         iii) WS Endpoint
                 using transatcion 'WSPUBLISH' successfully.
            Now the webservice appears in 'Services Registry'.If i click on WSDL url
    appearing there,it returns the correct WSDL.
            But if i go to 'EndPoint' tab and click on 'Test It' button, it gives me the following error :
              Invalid Response Code: (500) Unknown Host. The requested URL was:"http://ructdc00.wdf.sap.corp:52080/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ztest_ashis?sap-client=800&wsdl=1.1&mode=sap_wsdl"
           Although if i type this in IE browser i am able to get the wsdl in the browser.
       So do i need to maintain any system detail of WebAs in CE environment.If yes
    where ?
    Additional Info
    This server is not in the SLD that is used by CE.Anyway its a http destination.So system is in the SLD or outside SLD shouldn' matter.
    I am able to consume the web service from another WebAS by using a
          client proxy.So webservice is working fine.
              Can anyone help me out ?
    Thanks and Regards
    Ashis

    Hi All,
          Finally i got the solution.First in the sebservice configuration we should add
    *.wdf.sap.corp to exclusion list of the server in the proxy setting of webservice.Then
    it works fine.
    Thanks and Regards

  • JAX-WS Client throws NULL Pointer Exception in NW 7.1 SP3 and higher

    All,
    My JAX-WS client is throwing an exception when attempting to create a client to connect to the calculation service. The exception is coming out of the core JAX-WS classes that are part of NetWeaver. (see exception below)
    Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
         at com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.client.jaxws.core.SAPServiceDelegate.createDispatchContextExistingPort(SAPServiceDelegate.java:440)
         at com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.client.jaxws.core.SAPServiceDelegate.createDispatchContext(SAPServiceDelegate.java:475)
         at com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.client.jaxws.core.SAPServiceDelegate.createDispatch(SAPServiceDelegate.java:492)
         at com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.client.jaxws.core.SAPServiceDelegate.createDispatch(SAPServiceDelegate.java:484)
         at javax.xml.ws.Service.createDispatch(Service.java:166)
    I have done some research and it appears that as of NetWeaver 7.1 SP3 SAP stopped using the SUN JAX-WS runtime and implemented their own SAP JAX-WS runtime. I also took the time to decompile the jar file that contained the SAPServiceDelegate class which is throwing the null pointer exception. (see method from SAPServiceDelegate below)
        private ClientConfigurationContext createDispatchContextExistingPort(QName portName, JAXBContext jaxbContext)
            BindingData bindingData;
            InterfaceMapping interfaceMap;
            InterfaceData interfaceData;
            bindingData = clientServiceCtx.getServiceData().getBindingData(portName);
            if(bindingData == null)
                throw new WebServiceException((new StringBuilder()).append("Binding data '").append(portName.toString()).append("' is missing!").toString());
            QName bindingQName = new QName(bindingData.getBindingNamespace(), bindingData.getBindingName());
            interfaceMap = getInterfaceMapping(bindingQName, clientServiceCtx);
            interfaceData = getInterfaceData(interfaceMap.getPortType());
            ClientConfigurationContext result = DynamicServiceImpl.createClientConfiguration(bindingData, interfaceData, interfaceMap, null, jaxbContext, getClass().getClassLoader(), clientServiceCtx, new SOAPTransportBinding(), false, 1);
            return result;
            WebserviceClientException x;
            x;
            throw new WebServiceException(x);
    The exception is being throw on the line where the interfaceMap.getPortType() is being passed into the getInterfaceData method. I checked the getInterfaceMapping method which returns the interfaceMap (line above the line throwing the exception). This method returns NULL if an interface cannot be found. (see getInterfaceMapping method  below)
       public static InterfaceMapping getInterfaceMapping(QName bindingQName, ClientServiceContext context)
            InterfaceMapping interfaces[] = context.getMappingRules().getInterface();
            for(int i = 0; i < interfaces.length; i++)
                if(bindingQName.equals(interfaces<i>.getBindingQName()))
                    return interfaces<i>;
            return null;
    What appears to be happening is that the getInterfaceMapping method returns NULL then the next line in the createDispatchContextExistingPort method attempts to call the getPortType() method on a NULL and throws the Null Pointer Exception.
    I have included the code we use to create a client below. It works fine on all the platforms we support with the exception of NetWeaver 7.1 SP3 and higher (I already checked SP5 as well)
          //Create URL for service WSDL
          URL serviceURL = new URL(null, wsEndpointWSDL);
          //create service qname
          QName serviceQName = new QName(targetNamespace, "WSService");
          //create port qname
          QName portQName = new QName(targetNamespace, "WSPortName");
          //create service
          Service service = Service.create(serviceURL, serviceQName);
          //create dispatch on port
          serviceDispatch = service.createDispatch(portQName, Source.class, Service.Mode.PAYLOAD);
    What do I need to change in order to create a JAX-WS dispatch client on top of the SAP JAX-WS runtime?

    Hi Guys,
    I am getting the same error. Any resolution or updates on this.
    Were you able to fix this error.
    Thanks,
    Yomesh

    Am I missing something here in configuration of 10.1.3.1 or any other issue? Please help as it is really urgent.

    (2) Ive got four Pentium III computers:
    1. Windows 2000 Server to be the web server (MyWebServer, IP = 10.10.1.1).
    2. Windows 2000 Professional to be the database server (MyDatabaseServer, IP = 10.10.1.2).
    3. Windows 2000 Professional that I use to develop and test (MyDeveloperPC, IP = 10.10.1.3).
    4. Windows 2000 Professional that I use as a client to connect to the website (MyClientPC, IP = 10.10.1.4).
    (3) On MyWebServer I installed the following:
    Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE)
    Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE)
    Java Web Services Developer Pack (JWSDP)
    The JWSDP tutorial
    Apache HTTP Server
    (4) The files I downloaded and installed are as follows:
    j2sdk-1_4_0-rc-win.exe
    j2sdkee-1_3_1-win.exe
    jwsdp-1_0-ea1-win.exe
    jwsdp-1_0-ea1_01-tutorial.zip
    apache_1.3.23-win32-x86-no_src.exe
    (5) After installing these products, I set the environment variables as follows:
    JAVA_HOME = c:\j2se
    J2EE_HOME = c:\j2ee
    JWSDP_HOME = c:\jwsdp
    Path = c:\j2se\bin;c:\j2ee\bin;c:\jwsdp\bin; [and other previous statements]
    (6) I checked to see that Apache is running as a service. It is.
    On MyWebServer I start Tomcat and J2EE. Both start properly and are operating simultaneously.
    (7) From MyClientPC I open Internet Explorer and in the address box I type:
    http://10.10.1.1
    This displays the page c:\ApacheHTTP\apache\htdocs\index.html.en (The Apache default server installation page.)
    (8) I then enter this address in IE:
    http://10.10.1.1:8080
    This displays the page c:\jwsdp\webapps\root\index.html (The default JWSDP page).
    (9) I then enter this address in IE:
    http://10.10.1.1:8000
    This displays the page c:\j2ee\public_html\index.html (The J2EE 1.3 Default Home Page).
    (10) So far so good. Now I want to test JWSDP as a container for JSP pages.
    (11) I use ant to build the converter app found in the tutorial examples (in folder c:\jwsdp\\tutorial\examples\gs). I then deploy the converter app to the c:\jwsdp\webapps\gs folder.
    (12) From MyClientPC I open Internet Explorer and in the address box I type:
    http://10.10.1.1:8080/gs
    The converter app works perfectly.
    (13) To eliminate the need to enter the port number, I create a link from the Apache default server installation page to the converter app. From MyClientPC and enter this address into IE:
    http://10.10.1.1
    I then click on the link to the converter app and it works perfectly.
    (14) Question: Is this the best way to display JSP pages without having to enter the port number?
    (15) Now its time to integrate JWSDP and J2EE as described in these two documents:
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/WebServices/wsj2ee/
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/documentation/windows_guide.html
    (16) After I complete this integration I cannot start both Tomcat and J2EE at the same time. This makes sense because they both share port 8080.
    I start Tomcat.
    (17) From MyClientPC and use Internet Explorer to test the various relevant addresses. Everything works the same as it did before except this one:
    http://10.10.1.1:8000
    The page cannot be displayed. The J2EE default home page is not displayed, which makes sense because the J2EE port is no longer 8000; it has been changed to 8080.
    (18) Now I shutdown Tomcat and start J2EE.
    From MyClientPC and use Internet Explorer to test the various relevant addresses:
    (19) http://10.10.1.1:8080
    Displays the JWSDP default home page.
    (20) http://10.10.1.1:8080/gs
    The page cannot be displayed. The converter app no longer works.
    (21) From MyWebServer and use Internet Explorer to test localhost:
    http://localhost:8080
    This displays the J2EE default home page.
    (22) Question: Why does localhost give me a different page than the IP address?
    (23) Question: What was the point of integrating JWSDP and J2EE?
    (24) I want to get the converter app working, so I create a .war file and attempt to add it to the J2EE deploytool (see the two integration documents listed above at section 15.) I create the .war file following the instructions in the JWSDP tutorial:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/ea1/tutorial/doc/WebApp3.html#64606
    (25) I change to the c:\jwsdp\\tutorial\examples\gs\build folder.
    I then type:
    jar cvf converter.war .
    A .war file is created.
    (26) I open the deploytool: File, New, Application, and I name it converter.
    I attempt to add the .war file: File, Add to Application, Web WAR.
    (27) When I attempt to add the converter.war file I get this error:
    converter.war does not appear to be a valid web JAR.
    I tried a few different attempts, all with the same result. Im stuck.
    (28) I ask again, What was the point of integrating JWSDP and J2EE?
    (29) If this is the preferred configuration, how do I display my JSP pages like the converter app?
    Please help!!!

    The JWSDP tutorial says to be in the build folder of the example when issuing the jar command to create the .war file. The build folder is created when I run the ant build command.
    Attempt 1 from the command prompt in folder c:\jwsdp\tutorial\examples\gs\build>
    I typed this command:
    jar cvf c:\jaxmservices\converter.war .
    In this case I directed the .war file to be placed in a different folder as you suggested. Heres the output:
    added manifest
    adding: index.jsp(in = 921) (out= 525)(deflated 42%)
    adding: WEB-INF/(in = 0) (out= 0)(stored 0%)
    adding: WEB-INF/classes/(in = 0) (out= 0)(stored 0%)
    adding: WEB-INF/classes/Converter.class(in = 582) (out= 358)(deflated 38%)
    Didnt work. Same error as before.
    Attempt 2 from the same folder:
    I typed this command as you suggested (I tried it with and without the final dot):
    jar tvf converter.war
    Here is the output:
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: converter.war (The system cannot find the file specified)
    at java.io.FileInputStream.open(Native Method)
    at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(FileInputStream.java:103)
    at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(FileInputStream.java:66)
    at sun.tools.jar.Main.run(Main.java:185)
    at sun.tools.jar.Main.main(Main.java:904)
    I tried a few other variations on these attempts with no luck. Im stuck.
    Im attempting to create a .war file out of two files: index.jsp and converter.class.
    Now that Ive integrated JWSDP and J2EE, is there some other way that I can run the converter app instead of a .war file and the deploytool? In other words, if I go back to using ant to build and deploy converter, where would I deploy it so that it will work with J2EE?
    By the way, it doesnt have to be converter. Id be happy if I could get any JSP page to work in J2EE after the integration.
    Forever grateful,
    Logan

    Hi All,
    How Types are coming Null Pointer Exception Error's in WebDynpro Java, Please provide the types.of Errors.
    Ex. Cardinality Type not correct etc...
    Thanks,
    Bye,
    Vijay Hari.

    HI
      Null Pointer Exception can occur in may instances , for suppose
      1) when  you create a Value Node with some attribute which has cardinality , and you have not
      initialized the Node , then it would through  Null Pointer exception ,
      2) when you integrate the RFC and parameters you pass as input to the RFC are not set correctly
          then there could be null pointer when you execute the RFC
      3>or may be when you doesnot bind the node when using webservice then there could be null pointer exception
    and there could be many occurances  for the exception
