Im writing a simple calculation device.
You input one digit and press one of two buttons to multiply it by a certain number and then the result is displayed. The result is displyed hiding the result of the button you didn't press and visa versa.
I am having a problem displaying the result with a constant two decimal place.
I am using strings and thus don't know how to do this.
Here is my code:

Use the toFixed() method of the Number class instead of the toString() method. The result of it is a String with the number of decimal places you specify.
          var answerW:Number = Number(txtinput.text) * Number(0.90);
          txtWResult.text = answerW.toFixed(2);

Can not change the number of decimal places in the normalization of result

    i want to see the proportion of some data, for example, the income of May is 300, and the total income is 1000, i need to display it like 33.33% . so i set the

before i set the normalization of result, i can change the decimal values. After that i cann't.
In your thread, someone proposes use the T-code OY04. but this wouldn't help. As i change to other key figure, such as user quantity, when i set normalization of result, it still display 3 decimal values.
i think the point maybe lie in the normalization of result. please advise... thanks...

Currency Conversion Cuts off at 10 decimal places

Hello all,
When doing currency conversions the database cuts off the data two the 10th decimal place. I need to be at 12 decimal places. In the database the setting is set at decimal(25,10). Is there a way to change it so the database will go out to more decimal places?

It is possible to change the format to accept larger values, however this change will only impact any newly created Applications.
To change the default, open Administrator and select "Set Application Parameters"
Add the KeyID "SIGNED_DATA_FORMAT" and for the Value enter the total number of digits and the number of decimals, ex: "20,15" would indicate 20 digits to the left of the decimal and 15 to the right.
Click on Update.
Any new Application created will now use this new value for the Signed data column.

I'm a straight noob...first week in Java programming. Before you bash me for not checking FAQs and such, believe me, I have.
I have tried BigDecimal movePointLeft, but I don't know how to construct it using proper syntax. I also tried currency and toString but I keep messing up my syntax somehow. Four hours into this and nothing is working.
Here is the problem: I have a float. I want to format its output to two decimal places, trying to achieve in Java what C would produce as:
printf("The amount you owe is $%.2f", fltAnyName);
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, guys. I have tried both recommendations and I can't get either to work. I'm getting a compile error pointing to the delineating period between the "out" and "printf" when I try the C-like code. I have 1.5, too. I know your advice is sound so I must be doing something wrong. Can you insert the code DecimalFormat code that will correct this problem where it needs to go? Rounding off a float to two decimal places

I want to make a function where I shall pass a float and and integer.
The float shall have to be rounded off to a value in the integer.
Can anyone please suggest how to round off a float.
E.g.: if the float is 12.56890 and I want to round it off to 2 decimal places, then it should be 12.57.

I didn't mention any datatypes like float, double.True, but that is what the question is about, so you weren't answering the question. For a change.
As I mentioned, that was just a mathematical steps to round of the floating point value. (Not in any programming languages point of view).False. You didn't mention that at all.
This is the code for that in java.So here you are mentioning datatypes and floats for the same piece of mathematics that you have already been told, with reasons, doesn't work in floating point.

Seems to. What evidence do you have that the float actually got rounded? As opposed to got displayed as rounded? Which is not what the OP asked for.
And of course all that code seems to do is round 0.01 to two decimal places, which again is not what the OP asked for.

Print Doubles to two decimal places?

When I do calculations on my double numbers and then print them on screen I get a string of digits after the decimal point. Can anyone give me the code as to how I use the DecimalFormat class to make these digits print to 2 decimal places. I am sure it is very simple line or two of code but I am unsure how.

MOVE N1 TO N2.
WRITE: N2.
Here the value is get rounded to 0.06.
Rather than function modules you go with this. I think it is easier.

Printing two decimal places from BigDecimal values

I am using BigDecimal to represent money values. My output needs to line up so that (with a non-proportional font) the decimal point and the two decimal places are in the same columns for each line. But when the dollar value has zero cents, or has a number of cents that is divisible by ten, it drops the trailing zeroes, and drops the decimal point if the decimal places are both zeroes. For example, I want to see "25.00" instead of "25" and "25.50" instead of "25.5". It doesn't seem to make any difference if I set the scale to 2. (I have resorted to getting the toString() of the BigDecimal and hacking the string before I display it, but surely there must be an easier way?)

Trunc percentage two decimal places

I have a report that has the option of dispalying pdf or excel. I have the pdf version working fine but i am having a little trouble on the excel version. I have a grand total and department total. Basically I need help formating two decimal places. Both dept_total and grand_total are numbers that both display. I have another column that displays what percent of the total is from each dept.It currently returns a number such as 10.23383547957459973 which i need to display as 10.23 How can i incorporate the trunc function into this code?

This will round the value, not truncate it. That is, if the value is 10.23583547957459973, it would display '10.24', not '10.23'. If you always want to round toward 0 (rather than to the nearest multiple of .01), then use TRUNC.

If your currency code entry isn't in OY04 customizing step, your currency code has 2 decimal place automaticly. If you want to define a special decimal place without "2", you must define it in OY04.

I am dealing with the task to round values to two decimal places. I have found some discussions in BPC-MS where the statement ROUND should work in logic. Unfortunately I am not able to make it work in the NW version.
Isn't there also a parameter in the appset or application administration which would cut the numbers only to two decimal places (this task would be also a possible solution for us).

the second import worked fine. I realized that the class has changed to ZCL_BPC_SL_ROUND.
I debugged the class and noticed that the parameter it_cv is not filled at all. Therefore the program ends before starting the rounding procedure. Here is the part of the code:

it is not possible to store with Number datatype. if you are using the data to sho report, then change its format (like 45 to 45.00). if you want to store 45.00 in database, then you have to modify the datatype for that column. for this follow the following path
1. Add a column of datatype Varchar2.
2. Copy all the value of your number field to it.
3. Drop the old column.
4. However make sure that if you have used that column somewhare in arithmetic calculation, the modify it and use to_number function to do arithmetic opration.
