Policy store can be re-associated with either OID or Oracle DB

I read that policy store can be re-associated with either OID or Oracle DB.
Is there any official page describing comparison between both approach? If not, any personal view will also help.
Thanks.
Reference - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_security_credstore.htm

if policy store is OID then user credential should also stored in OID. Having said that the authentication will happen via OID in this case.
In case of DB. policy will be stored in OIM DB. and not mandatory to have the authentication via OID.
Better go for DB

• Change the iTunes store an app is associated with

I have two active iTunes store accounts in two countries because I have homes in both locations (U.S. and another country). These two accounts allow me to download content that is available only in one of those countries to my one iPhone. I know how to switch back and forth between the stores when it is time to update my collection of apps, but I have gotten to the point where I'm tired of the constant switching back and forth that I need to do -- literally every day -- to keep all my apps up to date.
For this reason, I would like to make it so that all apps that are available in the U.S. store are associated with my U.S. account and only those apps that are unique to the other country be associated with that country's store/my account with that country. The apps that are unique to the other country are a fraction of my app collection, so I would like only those apps to be associated with that country's account. Unfortunately, a lot of the apps that are available in both countries I downloaded from my other country store, therefore they are associated with that account/country despite being available in the U.S. as well. Even though I spend a lot of time in my U.S. account, I am constantly having to switch to update, say, Instagram, when I wish I could have done the update back in the U.S. account where Instagram is an available app.
In other words, how can I change the country store that an app is associated with? Do I have to delete and re-download them from the store I want them associated with?
The reason I ask, and the reason I find this so frustrating, is Apple knows when an app needs updating, regardless of the origin store. When my iPhone is logged into the U.S. account, I still get notified of the app update in the other country's store and I'm prompted to log in to that account. Why can't I just update it in my U.S. account, particularly since the app is available in the U.S.?
Thanks for the help.

Sorry, but what you ask is not possible. You cannot change the iTunes Store nor the iTunes Store account an app is assocated with. Why Apple has this setup for apps that are common to more than one country I can't say; it may be due to copyright and other legal issues that differ from country to country, or just that they haven't found it practical to set up different mechanisms for media - which must be handled separately for each country - and apps.
In any case, though, there's nothing you can do. You will have to update through each store separately, or re-acquire the apps in the account/country you wish to use most often.
Regards.

• If a podcast is not in iTunes store can it be restored with the same ID?

A friend had a working feed but for some reason it no longer exists in the iTunes store. Is it possible to restore the feed with the same id (so that existing subscribers will be able to continue subscribing) or will the feed need to be recreated completely?

This appears to be the feed:
http://thesniffer.libsyn.com/rss
It can be subscribed to in iTunes and appears to have no serious technical problems, though the FeedValidator report does throw up a few minor ones.
Though it doesn't seem to throw iTunes when subscribing, the 'title' tag reads

thesniffer

which I can't think is a good idea: the titles of the podcast and the episodes (which are formatted the same) should be in plain text: I don't know why Libsyn is formatting them like this, or whether it's likely to upset the iTunes Store (which is a different matter from iTunes when subscribing, and occasionally something will work in one but not the other).
It doesn't seem likely that any of the content-based reasons I quoted above, suggesting why a podcast might be rejected, apply in your case; though I've not listened to the episodes. Other than the formatting matter mentioned above I can't see any obvious reason for rejection.
She could try resbmitting this feed - she will probably need to make a small change to the title or she will be told the feed has already been submitted - this can be changed back once she's got the podcast accepted.

• Can mailboxes be associated with a color?

I have 2 email accounts on my Mail client. Can I associate a color to each account so it's easier to see the messages as they come in?

Assuming your In Box will be receiving both Account's emails, here's my suggestion:
In Mail, open Preferences>Rules>Add Rule. In the top of the new pane after "Descriptions:", title the Rule something like ACCOUNT #1 COLOR.
The rest is multiple choice. In the next line, select "Any" ("If ANY of the following conditions are met:");
In the next menu, select "To", followed by "Is equal to", then fill in the Account email address.
Under "Perform the following actions", choose "Set Color", then decide if you want the "Background" or "Text" to be in color. The last box gives you color choices. Select OK.
Then create another Rule and do this again using the second Account email address and a second color choice.
The Rules box is the greatest way of blocking spam, as well. But that's another lesson.

• I want to cancel one iTunes store account, and then change the email associated with my other account to the deleted email. Will it work?

Hi,
I have two itunes accounts. One account has all my store purchases and is associated with my school email address, which I will eventually lose. The OTHER account has NO purchases on it, and is associated with my gmail account.
What I want is for my itunes account with all my purchases, to be associated my permanent gmail email account. However, if I try to change it, Apple of course tells me that the particular email address is already associated with another account. And, as others have said on the forums, you can't merge two accounts.
So, would it be possible to delete the gmail account entirely? And then, after that is done, change the email on my other account to my gmail address? If so, how do I do that?
Thanks!

• How can I download previous iTunes purchases from older apple id after my Mac is associated with my current one?

I have 4 MacBooks running MtnLion, iPad3, iPhones 2,3gs,4,and 4s,Time Capsule, and Apple TV....
I have 2 Apple IDs [email protected], and [email protected]
Almost all of my media is associated with gmail Apple ID. I want to retrieve my previous purchases, but don't need this Apple id aside from that.
All of my computers and devices are associated with [email protected] id (I've set automatic downloads on all devices for [email protected])
Now itunes will not let me download purchases I made on [email protected] for 60 days.....
I actually wiped my 15" Mac pro, installed MtnLion and set it up with the me@gmail Apple ID (both icloud and itunes) just to get my previous itunes purchases. I downloaded about half, and then got sidetracked. Now when I go into itunes on it and try to download the rest, it says this computer is associated wth another apple id and can't download for 60 days!!!
I tried deauthorizing, but to no end.

Multiple people can indeed use multiple Apple IDs on the same computer in multiple user accounts as long as they do not use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-download any past purchases. However, if you'll read the KB article I posted a link to you'll see that for the purposes of those services a computer can only be associated with one Apple ID every 90 days. If the OP associates their friend's computer with their Apple ID and downloads purchases from the purchase history the owner of the computer will be locked out from using iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-downloading any past purchases.
It's not that the friend will be unable to use iTunes at all, but what the OP wants to do will associate their friend's computer to thier Apple ID for 90 days which may cause the friend some inconvinence.

• I cannot ope PDF files that are within a web link. Neither Safari nor Firefox will work. If I receive a PDF file as an email attachment, I can open it with either Adobe or Preview. I'm running 10.6.8 on an iMac.

I'm going to re-state this. Several weeks ago, I had installed Security Update 2012-004 on my iMac. I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Immediately afterwards, my Mail 4.6 was GONE. Mail 4.2 was there, but the system would not open it. The Apple Support Communites quickly solved my problem. The problem lay within the Update. Now, I cannot open PDF files that are contained within a website, i.e. a lunch menu that is on a restaurant website. This happens on both Safari and Firefox. If someone sends me an email with an attached PDF file, I can open the file with either Adobe or Preview. This is happening only on my iMac. My MacBook Pro, also running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 has not experienced either the first or second problem. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Does this help with Firefox?

• Is there any way I can change the computer of which my iPod Touch was originally associated with?

My computer has recently decided to reject my iPod Touch completely from it's system, it has also deleted all the data from my iTunes library. It claims that my iPod has been synced with another computer and states that they can only be associated with a single computer. I was wondering whether there was any way of which I can change the computer of which my iPod Touch was originally associated with? Is it possible? Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Your Device will only Sync to One iTunes at a time...

• Without using iTunes, I want to browse to an Apple website that shows me the list of devices associated with my Apple Id

My primary goal: I want to browse to some Apple website where I have already logged in using my Apple Id and password, and I then want to click a link that will bring me to a page that will show me the Apple Devices that I "own", that are associated with either "me" (whatever that entity Id should be) or with my Apple Id. Most importantly, I want to do this without using iTunes. I have seen my list of devices before on an Apple web page, and it even shows the MAC addresses of the devices. I did not reach this list by using iTunes.
I know for an absolute fact that an Apple Customer Service rep on the phone showed me some trick for viewing all the devices that I had purchased. There was even a device that another person had purchased and then had sold to me, and this Apple rep showed him how to "disown" the device and she then walked me through how I could take over ownership of the same device).
The procedure that she walked me through might not have anything to do with my Apple Id. It might have had to do with some other unique way of identifying myself. I simply cannot remember, and I cannot imagine what that Id would have been. I have searched and searched via Google and every result returned by Google always talks about using iTunes to associate an Apple device with my Apple Id.
My secondary goal: If this is not the appropriate community to which I should have sent this question, all I can say is that it was the closest match that I could find. If no one here can help me achieve my primary goal, can you please suggest another community to which I should post my question?
Thanks!

After hours and hours of failed searches, I must have used a different keyword in my Google search, and here is the website that I was looking for:
https://supportprofile.apple.com
And here is the guy whose website I found that helped me solve my problem:
http://www.marcomc.com/2011/01/how-to-find-the-list-of-my-apple-registered-produ cts/
I was going to rant here about how badly Apple designed their "Apple Id" stuff, how they strongly distinguish between using your Apple Id at the online Apple Store vs. using it at the App Store (which you have to get to via iTunes ... quite ridiculous) ... but I won't. :-)
Anyway, I hope that the two previously mentioned websites will be of help to others.

• How do I change the bank associated with receiving my ebill?

I'm trying to setup my bank account to receive ebills from Verizon, but whenever I try I receive the following message, "This account number is already active for e-bills. E-bills can only be associated with one user name." I've looked all over my account but cannot find where to change this information.

JLoope Let's figure out how to update your banking information for ebilling. Since the message is indicating that you already have an account active for ebills, is there a section where you delete the current information?

• I upgraded iPhone 6 to IOs 8.1.3 and I can no longer pair with my 2015 Toyota Highlander. Upgraded to 8.2 and it still doesn't pair

I upgraded my iPhone to iOS 8.1.3 and can no longer pair with either the phone in my 2015 Toyota Highlander or my Jawbone earpiece. Upgraded to iOS 8.2 and still no resolution for the car, but now my Jawbone will finally pair with the iPhone. Is this a known problem or do I need to get a different phone?

Hi. You can reset the connecting system on your car to try or make sure if password's verifying is needed to connect.

• Textframe Associated with Root element

Hi,
I want to add a Processing Instructions before the first character of any TextFrame. (This is pure xml workflow)
InterfacePtr<IIDXMLElement> root_elt (Utils<IXMLUtils>()->QueryRootElement(doc));
From this 'root_elt' how can i find the Associated TextFrame?. I have planned to go iteratively using TextFrame threads.
Thanks in advance.
Saravanan.K

The root element of an InDesign document can't be associated with a text box. It represents the entire document, any story you tag will be a child of this element. Take a look at IXMLHandler. The other option you have it to post process the XML document after the InDesign export finishes, i.e re-parsing / re-writting it.

• Can't send mail with IMAP

Hi,
I have two different IMAP accounts, and I can't send mail with either of them. I receive it just fine, but can't send. One of them just switched to ESMTP (I'm not entirely sure what that means), and said that many mail programs are not yet compatible with it. I know that both accounts can send, as I can send from them on the web.
I have tried switching from port 25 to port 587, with no luck. Regardless of what I do, the program displays a window saying, "Sending the message content to the server failed." I haven't been able to send for a little over a week now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Tonight I have been suddenly unable to send e-mail from my mac.com address.
The problem is the same whether I try to send from my G4 laptop running OS 10.4, or my eMac running OS 10.3.9 , or from .mac web mail.
The alert I am receiving says: "The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server."
I am using the SMTP outgoing mail server, not POP.
I can still receive e-mail with no difficulty.
I have changed no settings.
What's up?
