PoolDisabledSQLException

Hello ,
We are receiving the error on one of our host which says:
weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolDisabledSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceDisabledException.
We want to know the nature of this error and ways to tackle it.
When we tried deploying the same appliaction on different hosts we did not encounter this error. After going through the documentation we are feeling that the connection pool is getting defunct due to dbms connection failuares ,on the host which throws this error. We have configured the datasource using admin console and also enabled the property TestConnectionsOnReserve. We want to set the property CountOfTestFailuresTillFlush, which is not available through the console. Now since all the other properties for connection pool are already configured in admin console, we only want set the property for CountOfTestFailuresTillFlush. Now if we use config.xml, to specify this property then we will have to specify all the properties again ?. Also what are the other options?.
Thanks

If the pool tests a connection and the test fails, that connection will never be re-tested or re-used. It
is closed and discarded immediately and a replacement for it will be made immediately. However, if
the pool experiences two successive occurrences of connections being tested, failing, and for each
of those, the attempt to create a new replacement connection also failed, then WebLogic assumes
the DBMS is down, and disables the pool. Then pool will then try to reconnect every 5 seconds, and
will re-enable the pool at that time. This is not easily changeable in 10.3. How different would it be
if the pool didn't suspend itself, if the DBMS is down?

Appreciate any ideas we might try to fix this issue.

We have set the 'maximum capacity' of that data source to 500.
When we submit 100 BPEL instances to be started, we see (by monitoring v$session inside the database) that the number of sessions opened by BPEL never goes beyond a few (5 to 10) database sessions.
Yet we still encounter this 'pool is suspended' error:
    weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolDisabledSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceDisabledException:
Pool SOALocalTxDataSource is uspended, cannot allocate resources to applications..We can then reset the status of this pool back to running. It then runs for a while, but after 5 - 10 minutes the status flips back to 'suspended' again.
In search of some kind of workaround, we have also set (in composite.xml) the minimumDelayBetweenMessages to 2 seconds, just to ensure that we throttle the creation of our BPEL processes:
    <service name="ReceiveFlowEvent" ui:wsdlLocation="ReceiveFlowEvent.wsdl">
        <interface.wsdl interface="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/aq/PASSOA/WorkflowDispatcher/ReceiveFlowEvent#wsdl.interface(Dequeue_ptt)"/>

    ...Any more clues are appreciated.

  • Weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolDisabledSQLException

    Hi All,
We have one of the ADF application running on our Production system. The ADF application is connecting to Database through ADF BC.
We have configured the datasource on the WLS
The Maximun connection pooling on the WLS is 50.
The configurations on the AM is set to default
The application was working fine for 4 months.
    But we suddenly encountered "weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolDisabledSQLException"
Caused By: weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolDisabledSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceDisabledException: Pool PNDBConnectionDS is Suspended, cannot allocate resources to applications..
Any Idea as how to fix this issue so that we donot see this exception in the future.
We have used Jdev11.1.1.4.0 for development.
    Thanks
    Krishnaveni

    Hi Timo,
    Thanks you for googling .
The actual cause for the Issue was that Connection with database was lost could be due to some issue on the database.
After the database came up,We started getting the Re: weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolDisabledSQLException.
The issue was fixed bouncing the application to remove stale connections.
But we still need to investigate as why the connections didn't work after the DB was restarted.
    Thanks
    Krishnaveni

As answered by Punnet, your Datasource SOALocalTxDataSource on weblogic console is in suspended state.
Login to weblogic console. go to datasources --> SOALocalTxDataSource  -->Control Tab --> Click Resume and try again.

Because of this our server gets shut down automatically No. Just because connection pool got suspended, server should not go down. There is any other issue which you did not notice. For Data Source to function properly, make sure that intial and maximum connections limit has been set appropriately (preferably both should be equal) and make sure that database is up and running always and has that many connections open. Check with the DBA for DB connection limit settings.
Raise a SR with support if you are not able to figure out the exact issue.

NOTE: There are no changes done on data source settings

There was a similar question: Unable to load the user info or execute service method 'getConnection'
There is nothing to add to William's answer:
This is a WebLogic issue. You need to determine why the datasource was suspended. Restarting the WLS admin server and the UCM managed server should restart the suspended pool, but I'd expect the underlying issue to remain.

  • BIP Scheduler Configutartion

    Hi all,
When i check scheduler configuration in BIP i am getting an error like could not establish connection .
In scheduler diagnostics status Database Connection failed: weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolDisabledSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceDisabledException: Pool bip_datasource is Suspended, cannot allocate resources to applications..
    Help me .
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
Can you check the status of bip_datasource? if it is in suspended status stop it then start. Once it is in running status then you check scheduler diagnostics. To check status of BIP data source please see below.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks, Mark

Yesterday we were able to narrow down the problem to the JGeometry properties. The problem occurs when a large number of queries are issued in a short period of time and the fetches contain JGeometry objects. In our case each FACES row had two EDGES lists each of which had two FACES (left and right). Navigating the EDGES of a FACES row created a lot of requests.
We were able to replicate the problem using EntityManager Query and re-executed the query inside the catch block. It would usually work on the second or third attempt.
The solution was to not use pooled connectors OR to re-write our code to not use the Eclipselink spatial extensions. We're going to not use pooled connectors for the immediate future while we're determining a time frame for Oracle to get WebLogic pooled connectors working for JGeometry.
    Thanks, Mark

  • SOA Suite 11g - Connection Pools constantly getting suspended...

    Hi,
I have composites, bpel processes using database adapters.
*I keep getting "+Pool mds-owsm is Suspended, cannot allocate resources to applications+"  and " Pool SOALocalTxDataSource is Suspended, cannot allocate resources to applications.." in soa_server logg.*
There are no errors in db trace logs. It seems related to the WLS JDBC data sources, they are constantly getting suspended.
After a while no new connections can be created, and managed soa server hangs. Restart is the only "solution" for now...
I have increased "Maximum Capacity" on the connection pool to 300 without success.
    Any ideas, pointers, help appreciated.

    Hi again,
Thanks for the input, to answer your questions Anuj:
    Database
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production
    Middleware
    Oracle SOA Management 11.1.1.3.0
    Oracle SOA Infrastructure 11.1.1.3.0
    Oracle SOA Suite Patch 11.1.1.3.0
    Oracle SOA Common Adapters 11.1.1.3.0
Enterprice Manager 11g Fusion Middleware Control 11.1.1.3.0
    And..
Connection Creation Retry Frequency is set to "10"
Test Connections On Reserve is enabled.
Login Delay is stil set to 0 (by default), why should this value be other than 0?, wouldn't increasing it to 10 heavily slow down message-processing..?
DB and SOA are not on same machine, no n/w issues.
    Regards
    Anders.

  • Failing to attach WS-Policy to ProxyService in OSB

Im trying to attach a policy to a proxyservice. I'm attaching wss_username_token_service_policy from the list from the OWSM. I also set it to consume the ws-security headers but when i deploy i get the following message:
[OSB Kernel:398139]The binding type of service Common/ProxyServices/PS_CardManagementService is based on wsdl, the service should have ws-policy configuration.
The weird thing is that i've build other services in exact the same way (wsdl wise) and they all deployed and worked without a problem. I've rebuild the PS from the wsdl a couple of times but it doesnt seem to fix the problem.
I can add the policy using the SB console without a problem and it also works correct.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong?
    Thanks in advance!

Seems it has something to do with the mds-owsm. When i look in the log i see:
