Hi siddiqali,
In SharePint, it provides navigation feature which is similar to yours. Have you tried to use it? If not, I suggest you use navigation feature.

If the navigation feature cannot match your requirement, there is a solution similar to the function in the blog that you mentioned, you can download and deploy it to your SharePoint.

• "Hyperion" drop-down menu missing from MS Word 2003

Hello all,
I have an end user who has had their "Hyperion" drop-down menu go missing in MS Word. Other than telling them to re-install Smartview, does anyone know of an easy way for them to get the menu back? In Excel, this is a simple fix but it doesn't seem to be as straight-forward with Word. We are running EPM 11.1.1.3 and Office 2003.
Any feedback is very much appreciated.
Regards,
-Bob

Uninstall/re-install did not work. Here are the steps that were required to resolve the issue.
1. Open the MS Word 2007.
2. Click Office Button
3. Click “Word Options”
4. Select “Add-Ins”
5. At the bottom, select the option “Disabled items” for the option ‘Manage’ and click Go
6. Enable Smartview

Doug,
Ah, that's called the Action Menu and at this point there's no way to do that - at least not a supported method. You could always manipulate the "apexir_ACTIONSMENU" list...
This would make a good enhancement request.

• Dynamic Drop Down Menu from an Access Database

Hello Everyone,
I am user Adobe Designer 7 to create a fillable PDF, and I would like to get the options for a drop down menu from my MS Access database. Basically I would like to populate the drop down menu with the names in the Access database. There i Have a table called PhoneNumbers and it contains the names of all the people I want to appear in the drop down menu that I just created.
This is what I did:
I created a drop down menu and then I clicked on Object > Binding > under "Default Binding (Open, Save, Submit)" choose "New Data Connection"
then connect to the database using a fileDSN. I opened the table where with the "names" column (PhoneNumbers)
and under the "Query," option, I wrote:
select * from PhoneNumbers
Then it gave me all the fields from the table and I dragged the "Last name" field over the drop down menu. I will need to find a way to get the "First Name" field to join the Last Name field to create one name that looks like this: Hill, Angie
The problem is that even though it shows the name from the Access database, it does not give me a list of all the names when I open the form in Reader 7...
No matter how much I click that drop down arrow, the name does not change...
It's almost as if it gets to the databse and gets the data from the database, but it cannot loop through it...
It's almost as if it's missing the code to loop through it...
Why is this? Any ideas how to fix it so it gives me a list of ALL the names, when I click on the drop down button?
After that, how can I add the first name to it?
The form would look like this:
Angie H. 202 641 2055
Right now it does look like that, but I cannot change to another name when I click the drop down menu. For the code to be working when I change to another name, the phone number also changes to the phone number of that person:
Barry S. 703 555 1258
The name is in a drop down menu, the phone number is in a textbox.
Can you help me with this?

• Triggering a database query and region update from drop-down menu selection

I suspect this must be covered somewhere in some how-to or documentation but Google hasn't been of much help here:
A user is filling in a form. The first entry in the form is a drop-down menu. Upon the user selecting a value in the menu I would like to query existing entries in the DB and present results to the user, in a region to the right hand-side of the form, as guidance (i.e.: "here's what we already have for this component").
I am unclear as to whether I should be using computations, javascript or a combination of both here. Pointers welcome. Thanks in advance.

• Dynamically Populating Drop Down Lists

Hi,
I am trying to dynamically populate a drop down list on a form based on a selection in another drop down list. I have read the help file "To dynamically populate a second field after populating the first" which goes through an example, however I cannot get this example to work for me.
I know that the best way to do it is to create an xml file and connect the form to this file. I am new to programming in xml but have had some experience in other forms. The code that I have (from the help page) looks like this;

<MyData>
<country/>
<countries>

</countries>
<state/>
<US>

California

New York

Texas

</US>
<SRV>

An Giang

Bac Giang

Bac Kan

</SRV>
</MyData>
I have then followed the instructions on the page, and am unable to populate either field on my form. Perhaps there is something wrong with my code? Or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hi Paul,
I have another question,
I would now like to populate a third drop down menu based on the selection in the second one, however my code is going wrong somewhere as now when I put in the first 2 drop down lists, nothing appears in the second one. ie, the first drop down list I link to countries, and the second to state, as I did with the previous file, but now, when I preview it, I can choose a country, but nothing comes up in state. When I set the first drop down box to countries, I have to specify that I want it to show the uiname, but I can't do that with the second one when I select state using the XML file below, nothing is shown. Where am I going wrong?
<MyData>
<Country/>

• Dynamic Drop-Down Menu Solution

Hi All,
After spending a lot of time trying to find a good solution for a dynamic drop-down menu, I end up writing my own.
The solution is for a list of items, having ITEM as the primary key of the table and ITEMDESCRIPTION as the list of options for the user to select.
The steps are:
1) JavaBean to return a ResultSet;
2) A custom tag to build a HTML SELECT;
3) A .tld file to declare the custom tag;
4) web.xml where the custom tag mapping resides;
4) A JSP to illustrate how to call the custom tag;
Hoping this will save lots of time to others
Cheers

• Populating a Drop down menu JSP form

How to go about populating a drop-down form from Oracle Database using JSP?
I have the connecting to the Oracle Database running. I also can query forms, but i can't create a drop-down menu form.

Start the dropdown box with the regular select tags ""
Then open a JSP block and get a resutlset, loop through the resultset and and put the values from the resutlset into the tags for the HTML.
Example
out.println("<option value=\"" + rs.getString(1) + "\">" + rs.getString(1) + ">");
Then close the loop and that should populate a dropdown within the html form.

• How do I get the VISA resource drop down menu to be auto populated in my stand alone application (exe file)?

Hi all,
Here's a hopefully simple question.
I am building an application (i.e. an exe file) from a simple program which use VISA to read and write to a RS-232 com port. When I run it before building the application everything works fine and the VISA resource control, which is a drop down menu, is automatically populated with available com ports. When I run the application on a computer without LabVIEW installed nothing appears in this window. I have made an installer which includes NI LabVIEW Rutime Engine 8.5, NI Measurement & Automation Explorer 4.3 and NI-DAQmx 8.6.1. Is there anything else I need to include? Any specific settings I need to do when I build the exe-file?
I use LabVIEW 8.5.
Thank you.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

DAQmx is only for NI DAQ cards so I'm not sure why you installed that. The driver for VISA applications is NI-VISA (surprise!)
Add the NI-VISA run-time to your installer.
