Populating Multirecord text fields from Tlists value's combinations

I have a UI wherein there are two T lists, one on the Left and other on the Right. The left one contains
From values and the Right one contains To values. There's one Button which when Pressed should populate
a Data Block which has multi record text fields just below the button with all the possible combinations of
the T lists elements. The Text fields have the values From, To, Time, Unit. When populated From and Two will
get the values from the combinations and the user will enter the values in other fields i.e. Time and Unit,
Then the user can save the Records.
e.g. If the Left T list contains Red, Blue and the Right T List contains Green, Black. Then on pressing
the button below the T lists, the text fields From and Two of a data block displayed in the same window
should get populated with all the possible combinations as:
From || To || Unit || Time
Red Green
Red Black
Blue Green
Blue Black
Now the user can enter the values for Unit as well as Time and when he does save the Records should be inserted
for the Data Blocks DML Source that's some table.
What I'm trying is:
On pressing the Button i'm writing code that will have Two PL/SQL Tables(Index by binary_integer). One will have
all the values of the left T List and the other with all the values of right T List.
I do it as in the WHEN BUTTON PRESSED as:
DECLARE
TYPE varchar_table IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(30) INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
from varchar_table;
to varchar_table;
v_count1 NUMBER;
v_count2 NUMBER;
v_count3 NUMBER;
v_count4 NUMBER;
BEGIN
v_count1 := Get_List_Element_Count('CONTROL.FROM_TYPE');
     FOR i IN 1..v_count1 LOOP
          from(i) := Get_List_Element_Value('CONTROL.FROM_TYPE', i);
     END LOOP;
v_count2 := Get_List_Element_Count('CONTROL.TO_TYPE');
     FOR i IN 1..v_count2 LOOP
          to(i) := Get_List_Element_Value('CONTROL.TO_TYPE', i);
     END LOOP;
END;
Now how will I populate the text fields with the values in the tables that i got with the piece of code above.
Any help would be appreciated. Any other method other than the one i'm trying is also welcome. Please note that
i'm not using any table to store the elements in the T Lists. The lists get values at runtime by
user's selection.
Thanks,
Abhishek.

Try and stay civil in your postings. The solotion should be to simply issue a GO_BLOCK, followed by a CREATE_RECORD followed by setting the approriate values :block.value = <value from list>

  • Populating multiple text fields from a database table...

    I have a database table with several fields e.g. drawing_no, title, date_entered etc..I have a form that has the same fields. I want to be able to input a value into drawing_no field, and have it retrieve all the other values from the database - if they exist, or return blanks/nulls if it does not exit. I know how to do this for a single field, but not for retrieving multiple fields

    Hi ,
    You can create a before header page process and fetch all the fields from database, or you can take a look at in-built process Automated Row Fetch.
    For e.g. lets say u have field1, field2, field3, field4 and field5 based on col1, col2, col3, col4, col5 from table tab1
    Now create a page process of type PL-SQL and give a meaningful name to the process and accept the default as on Load Before header. In the "Enter PL/SQL Page Process" block enter a code similar to this one
    DECLARE
    BEGIN
    IF :drawing_no IS NOT NULL THEN
      SELECT col1, col2, col3, col4, col5 INTO :field1, :field2, :field3, :field4, :field5
      FROM tab1 WHERE drawing_no = :drawing_no ;
    END IF;
    EXCEPTION WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
               NULL;
    END;The above block will fetch the records into input fields every time u refresh the page.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • MS SharePoint 2010 Designer Workflow Email - Enhanced Rich Text Field look-up values on HTML email have large spaces

    MS InfoPath 2010 form with RTF (Rich Text Fields)
    MS SharePoint 2010 Custom Library
    MS SharePoint 2010 Designer Workflow Send Email
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-designer-help/send-e-mail-in-a-workflow-HA010239042.aspx
    https://www.nothingbutsharepoint.com/sites/eusp/pages/creating-html-emails-with-spd-workflows.aspx
    Hi all of the above work, our question is how to control the RTF (Rich Text Field) look up values to the InfoPath 2010 form in the HTML email?
    How to FORMAT the RTF look up value? in the HTML email
    EXAMPLE
    we have a InfoPath 2010 form published in the SharePoint 2010 custom list library there are 5 RTF fields (Notes1, Notes2, Notes3, Notes4, Notes5) there are other plain text fields, date fields, and other field types in the form
    We use a HTML table to make the email look like the InfoPath form, so when the users fill out the form and they get the email notification everything looks the same.
    Our problem is the EXTRA LINE SPACE in the RTF look up values
    We want to remove any leading spaces, and line spaces between HTML table cells
    Our Workflow has the HTML in a Workflow variable, as you know it does not support remote CSS it has to be in-line style for any formatting we want all cells to have
    valign="top" the email should align at the top of the cell, all field types do except the RTF look up values they make the email look bad and they contain a lot of white space.
    Please test this in your enviroment
    <table>
    <tr><td>Title:</td><td>[%Current Item:Title%]</td><td>[%Current Item:Notes1%]</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Created by:</td><td>[%Current Item:CreatedBy%]</td><td>[%Current Item:Notes2%]</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Date Created:</td><td>[%Current Item:Created%]</td><td>[%Current Item:Notes3%]</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Modified by:</td><td>[%Current Item:ModifiedBy%]</td><td>[%Current Item:Notes4%]</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Date Modified:</td><td>[%Current Item:Modified%]</td><td>[%Current Item:Notes5%]</td></tr>

    Hi IssackB,
    perhaps you may try this article:

    there are some notes that perhaps you may check:
    Use the same font for all the controls to ensure consistent spacing between rows.
    Choose Size from the Format menu, and then choose To Fit from the menu that appears. This adjusts the size of each control, depending on the font set for the data that appears
    in the control.
    NOTE: The Print Preview and Output To commands use different algorithms for calculating text width; therefore, the text may occupy more or less
    space in the RTF file.
    Reduce the amount of blank space above and below the report controls. Any vertical
    space between the controls is converted to whole lines
    in the RTF file. For example, a
    space of .02 inches can increase to .1667 inches in the
    RTF file.
    Make sure controls on the same output row are not too close to each other or overlapping. This can cause the Output To command to omit the controls or to align the columns incorrectly
    in the RTF file.
    Use the Align command from the Format menu to ensure that a row of controls is aligned properly on the report. If a row of controls is not aligned properly, the Output To command may place the controls
    in different rows, causing extra blank
    spacein the RTF file.
    and please have a check there are updates for exchange 2013 and will be available with the upcoming release of CU4 for Exchange 2013, that stated the format rtf was saved instead HTML. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2862739/en-us

  • How can I get the "text" field from the actionEvent.getSource() ?

    I have some sample code:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;

    import java.util.ArrayList;
    public class JFrameTester{
         public static void main( String[] args ) {
              JFrame f = new JFrame("JFrame");
              f.setSize( 500, 500 );
              ArrayList < JButton > buttonsArr = new ArrayList < JButton > ();
              buttonsArr.add( new JButton( "first" ) );
              buttonsArr.add( new JButton( "second" ) );
              buttonsArr.add( new JButton( "third" ) );
              MyListener myListener = new MyListener();
              ( (JButton) buttonsArr.get( 0 ) ).addActionListener( myListener );
              ( (JButton) buttonsArr.get( 1 ) ).addActionListener( myListener );
              ( (JButton) buttonsArr.get( 2 ) ).addActionListener( myListener );
              JPanel panel = new JPanel();
              panel.add( buttonsArr.get( 0 ) );
              panel.add( buttonsArr.get( 1 ) );
              panel.add( buttonsArr.get( 2 ) );
              f.getContentPane().add( BorderLayout.CENTER, panel );
              f.setDefaultCloseOperation( JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE );
              f.setVisible( true );
         public static class MyListener  implements ActionListener{
              public MyListener() {}
              public void actionPerformed( ActionEvent e ) {
                   System.out.println( "hi!! " + e.getSource() );
                   // I need to know a title of the button (which was clicked)...
    }The output of the code is something like this:
    hi! javax.swing.JButton[,140,5,60x25,alignmentX=0.0,alignmentY=0.5,
    border=javax.swing.plaf.BorderUIResource$CompoundBorderUIResource@1ebcda2d,
    flags=296,maximumSize=,minimumSize=,preferredSize=,defaultIcon=,disabledIcon=,
    disabledSelectedIcon=,margin=javax.swing.plaf.InsetsUIResource[top=2,left=14,bottom=2,
    right=14],paintBorder=true,paintFocus=true,pressedIcon=,rolloverEnabled=true,
    rolloverIcon=,rolloverSelectedIcon=,selectedIcon=,text=first,defaultCapable=true]
    I need this: "first" (from this part: "text=first" of the output above).
    Does anyone know how can I get the "text" field from the e.getSource() ?

    System.out.println( "hi!! " + ( (JButton) e.getSource() ).getText() );I think the problem is solved..If your need is to know the text of the button, yes.
    In a real-world application, no.
    In a RW application, a typical need is merely to know the "logical role" of the button (i.e., the button that validates the form, regardless of whether its text is "OK" or "Save", "Go",...). Text tends to vary much more than the structure of the UI over time.
    In this case you can get the source's name (+getName()+), which will be the name that you've set to the button at UI construction time. Or you can compare the source for equality with either button ( +if evt.getSource()==okButton) {...}+ ).
    All in all, I think the best solution is: don't use the same ActionListener for more than one action (+i.e.+ don't add the same ActionListener to all your buttons, which leads to a big if-then-else series in your actionPerformed() ).
    Eventually, if you're listening to a single button's actions, whose text change over time (e.g. "pause"/"resume" in a VCR bar), I still think it's a bad idea to rely on the text of the button - instead, this text corresponds to a logical state (resp. playing/paused), it is more maintainable to base your logic on the state - which is more resilient to the evolutions of the UI (e.g. if you happen to use 2 toggle buttons instead of one single play/pause button).

  • How to remove the automatically generated text fields from the InfoSet

    I followed the procedure by SAP help.
    Automatically generated text fields are marked with a 'T' on the icon in the InfoSet. You can remove the automatically generated text fields from the InfoSet in the initial screen of the InfoSet maintenance under Further Functions -> Delete Text Fields. Cancel the DataSource creation on the next screen and delete the text fields in the InfoSet maintenance transaction.
    I know that there is an option "No automatic text recognition" when I create a new InfoSet, however, I couldn't find out how to change an existed InfoSet. I checked menu Goto->Global Properties, but that option is disabled. Is there a way to remove text fields from an existed InfoSet?

    Hi,
    In the initial screen (when you enter transaction code SQ02) type your infoset name and goto menu: Infoset -> More functions -> Delete text fields. this will delete all text fields.
    I hope this helps to resolve the issue.

  • Text Field Caption above Value

    Hello,
    I hav enot been able to find out how to put the Caption for a Text Field above the Value of the field.  I can't imagine it is not possible.  Basically what I want is:
    My caption:
    I could do this with an uncaptioned Text Field and a piece of Text, but would rather keep it as 1 item if possible.  Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Karl

    To make this a little more complete, since I had a hard time finding it, the Layout tab can be found by selecting an object and then selecting the Pallet Menu that appears in the bottom right corner of the information surrounding the object in design View.  Layout is found under Pallets.
    Thank you, Niall, for the response.  It got me exactly what I needed.

  • Populating fields from database values

    I have a page being populated from database values. I used the Application Builder Wizard to create the application. One of the fields is displaying on the report, but when I click edit, the value is not there. The field is defined as a float and being displayed as a text item. I have created this Application twice with the same results.
    Any ideas?
    thanks!
    Christie

    Thank you for the quick reply!
    I turned on the debug, to ensure the automatic fetch
    process it on and it is. The edit page has 7
    fields, all are being populated except for this one.
    I have confirmed it is using the correct database
    column and it is replacing the existing value the
    same as the other fields.
    Any other ideas to what could be going on?You can see each page item assignment in the debug output. Look there to see where the page item is being set, and potentially unset I suppose. The thing to look for here might be page processes that might be interacting with that item.
    You could also simply drop the problematic page item and recreate it to see if you can make the value stick.

  • Pre-Populating Text fields from a Data drop down list using SQL Server

    I'm currently trying to update some of our internal forms which are word based or a basic PDF form you fill in by yourself.
    I'm connecting to our SQL server as there are databases stored there for an internal bit of software that hold information
    I can use to fill in parts the form.
    I have a data drop down list that is dynamically linked to the SQL databass and allows you to select a Project Number from that database, what
    I want to do after this is selected is to automatically populate some text fields with the Project name, Account handler and other fields held in the
    database.
    I've had a look online to see if there is a solution but haven't really found anythig that is similar (although I am new to LC so may have seen it
    and not realised) and my Java is non existant.
    Has anyone tried this and able to point me in the right directions?
    I'm using LiveCycle ES2 version 9.0.0.2 from Creative Suit 5.5 on Windows 7
    Cheers

    Hi,
    Actually this error does not cause any harm except a presentation inconvenience. In my multi-select prompt I am using variable expression with dynamic repository variable. Dashboard results are correct. Just variable's value does not appear on page (error Error Codes: G689FFB3:SDKE4UTF
    Expression: @{biServer.variables['CUR_CAL_PER_MONTH_NAME']}). Pushing "GO" button on the prompt fixing the error but it's actually second execution of the dashboard.
    Any ideas ??

  • Populating Text Field from Dropdown in Repeating Subforms

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to create a dropdown in a repeating subform that populates a text field in the same subform depending on the option selected.
    I used the functionality described here to acheive the text field population in the first row, but I have trouble when I add additional instances of my subform. In subsequent instances, when I select an option from the dropdown, it changes the text in my first textbox and does not populate anything in the repeated textbox.
    I'm not sure how to get this to work for each added instance and/or how to keep each instance separate from one another.
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Can you repost the question - some funny formatting issue

  • Populating text fields from dynamic select

    I have been searching the net for a javascript/ajax solution
    that will populate a number of text fields based on the selection
    from a dynamic select field. Specifically, when the person selects

    from a second recordset that gets filtered by the choice from the
    dropdown. This needs to be done without postback.
    The page is built using php/mysql and the select is populated
    by one of the recordsets.
    Any direct help or steering to a solution would be
    appreciated.

    Thanks for the reply.

  • Having issues with populating a Text Field with data from 2 other fields

    I have 3 fields Tools_1a_pri, Tools_1a_pri_other, Tools_1a_pri_txt.
    Tools_1a_pri is a drop down combo with a predefined list. One of the options is "Other".  When "Other" is selected, the text field Tools_1a_pri_other becomes visible for users to enter the name of the other tool.
    The Tools_1a_pri_txt is a text field with a calculation that shows either text stating that no tool has been selected or the Tools_1a_pri & or Tools_1a_pri_other.
    When I select one of the predefined tools, everything works.  When I select other, it appears that nothing has changed.  It requires that I click on another field before it populates.  This is confusing to the user.
    Tools_1a_pri   Validate code
    this.getField("Tools_1a_pri_Other").display = event.value=="Other" ? display.visible : display.hidden;
    Tools_1a_pri_txt  Calculation code
    //if nothing is selected, do the following
    if (getField("Tools_1a_pri").value.length < 2) {
    event.target.textColor = color.red
    event.value = "No primary tool identified";
    }else if (getField("Tools_1a_pri").value != "Other") {
    //otherwise do this if other is selected
    event.target.textColor = color.black
    event.value = getField("Tools_1a_pri").value;
    }else if (getField("Tools_1a_pri").value = "Other") {
    //otherwise do this if other is not selected
    event.target.textColor = color.black
    event.value = getField("Tools_1a_pri").value + " - " + getField("Tools_1a_pri_Other").value;

    You made the classic mistake of using the assignment operator in an if-statement instead of the comparison operator. Change this line:
    } else if (getField("Tools_1a_pri").value = "Other") {
    To this:
    } else if (getField("Tools_1a_pri").value == "Other") {

  • Populating Text Field from Multi Checkboxes

    Need help with formula.  Not sure whether or not I should be using FormCalc or Javascript as I am not extremely familiar with either.  I have a form that has three checkboxes (Box1, Box2, & Box3) that need to auto populate a text field (EmpAck).  I have tried three different ways to get this done and none are working for me.  What I need to happen is if "Box1" is checked "Text1" is inserted in "EmpAck" field and if "Box2" is checked "Text2" is instered & so on.  The texts are never the same and never added together.  I have set "EmpAck" to be read only, allowing multiple lines, and have the "Expand to fit box marked as the texts' are different lengths.  Any help would be great.
    1. // This would go in the Textfield under calulate using FormCalc
    if (Box1 = "On") then
    EmpAck = "Text1"
    elseif (Box2 = "On") then
    EmpAck = "Text2"
    elseif (Box3 = "On") then
    EmpAck = "Text3"
    endif
    2. //This would go in the checkbox "Box1" changing "Text1" to "Text2" or "Text3" as required under mouseup using JavaScript (found under http://forums.adobe.com/message/2489082#2489082)
    if (this.rawValue == 1)
    {EmpAck.rawValue = "Text1";}
    else {EmpAck.raqValue = " ";}
    3.//This would go in textfield under calcuate using JavaScript (found under http://forums.adobe.com/message/4108395#4108395)
    var a =" "
    if (this.getField(Box1).value == "Yes")
    {a="Text1"}
    if (this.getField(Box2).value == "Yes")
    {a="Text2"}
    if (this.getField(Box3).value == "Yes")
    {a="Text3"}
    event.value=a

    Found my problem.  Was using different subforms without including in the formula.

  • Populating a text field in a form based on selection from a list field?

    Hello,
    I'm using Acrobat 9 on a mac.
    In the list field users choose their hospital name. I then want the address associated with this hospital to populate a text field. Where do I enter the hospital addresses and the "script" (if hospital X then this address)? I've copied this list field and am using it in multiple places on the form by utilizing "global binding" and this is working well.
    Also, can the choices in a list field "drop down" or is the only option available a "click through?"
    Thanks in advance for your help!!

  • Problem in populating the new field from the extract structure. Kindly help

    my requirement a new text field is added on R/3 side and I have to populate
    the same field into BW.
    In the R/3 a new customization table 'AAA' is created which will have
    code - char 3 and
    text - char 30.
    The code field is added to a table BBB.
    The SAP standard generic data source exracts data from the table BBB where in the new code field have been added.
    Now I can the see the code field in the extract structure and not in the data source as the filed has selection value 'A' when checked in the ROOSFIELD table.
    To populate the value in BW, I will be creating a Generic Master Data text wherein I fetch the values from the table 'AAA' which the fields code and text  and replicate the same in BW.
    In the reporting level, the code InfoObject will be selected as display both KEY and TeXT, by doing I can populate the values of TEXT in the reporting.
    But to achieve the same I need to add the field code in the ODS but cannot do the same because I am not able to see the field code in the data source.
    Kindly let me know how to achieve the same.
    Also let me know if there is any alternate solution to populate the text field in BW.
    Any Inputs will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi all,
    i have created tables (non BO Tables) directly on the SQL-server and want to use recordset to populate a user form matrix.
    Is there any workaround to achieve this using non BO tables?
    Please provide some sample code since it is a very urgent matter.
    regards
    Daniel
