Text Field Caption above Value

Hello,
I hav enot been able to find out how to put the Caption for a Text Field above the Value of the field. I can't imagine it is not possible. Basically what I want is:
My caption:
I could do this with an uncaptioned Text Field and a piece of Text, but would rather keep it as 1 item if possible. Any ideas?

To make this a little more complete, since I had a hard time finding it, the Layout tab can be found by selecting an object and then selecting the Pallet Menu that appears in the bottom right corner of the information surrounding the object in design View. Layout is found under Pallets.

Populating Multirecord text fields from Tlists value's combinations

I have a UI wherein there are two T lists, one on the Left and other on the Right. The left one contains
From values and the Right one contains To values. There's one Button which when Pressed should populate
a Data Block which has multi record text fields just below the button with all the possible combinations of
the T lists elements. The Text fields have the values From, To, Time, Unit. When populated From and Two will
get the values from the combinations and the user will enter the values in other fields i.e. Time and Unit,
Then the user can save the Records.
e.g. If the Left T list contains Red, Blue and the Right T List contains Green, Black. Then on pressing
the button below the T lists, the text fields From and Two of a data block displayed in the same window
should get populated with all the possible combinations as:
From || To || Unit || Time
Red Green
Red Black
Blue Green
Blue Black
Now the user can enter the values for Unit as well as Time and when he does save the Records should be inserted
for the Data Blocks DML Source that's some table.
What I'm trying is:
On pressing the Button i'm writing code that will have Two PL/SQL Tables(Index by binary_integer). One will have
all the values of the left T List and the other with all the values of right T List.
I do it as in the WHEN BUTTON PRESSED as:

i'm not using any table to store the elements in the T Lists. The lists get values at runtime by
user's selection.

Try and stay civil in your postings. The solotion should be to simply issue a GO_BLOCK, followed by a CREATE_RECORD followed by setting the approriate values :block.value = <value from list>

Hi all of the above work, our question is how to control the RTF (Rich Text Field) look up values to the InfoPath 2010 form in the HTML email?
How to FORMAT the RTF look up value? in the HTML email
EXAMPLE
we have a InfoPath 2010 form published in the SharePoint 2010 custom list library there are 5 RTF fields (Notes1, Notes2, Notes3, Notes4, Notes5) there are other plain text fields, date fields, and other field types in the form
We use a HTML table to make the email look like the InfoPath form, so when the users fill out the form and they get the email notification everything looks the same.
Our problem is the EXTRA LINE SPACE in the RTF look up values
We want to remove any leading spaces, and line spaces between HTML table cells
Our Workflow has the HTML in a Workflow variable, as you know it does not support remote CSS it has to be in-line style for any formatting we want all cells to have
valign="top" the email should align at the top of the cell, all field types do except the RTF look up values they make the email look bad and they contain a lot of white space.
Please test this in your enviroment

there are some notes that perhaps you may check:
Use the same font for all the controls to ensure consistent spacing between rows.
Choose Size from the Format menu, and then choose To Fit from the menu that appears. This adjusts the size of each control, depending on the font set for the data that appears
in the control.
NOTE: The Print Preview and Output To commands use different algorithms for calculating text width; therefore, the text may occupy more or less
space in the RTF file.
Reduce the amount of blank space above and below the report controls. Any vertical
space between the controls is converted to whole lines
in the RTF file. For example, a
space of .02 inches can increase to .1667 inches in the
RTF file.
Make sure controls on the same output row are not too close to each other or overlapping. This can cause the Output To command to omit the controls or to align the columns incorrectly
in the RTF file.
Use the Align command from the Format menu to ensure that a row of controls is aligned properly on the report. If a row of controls is not aligned properly, the Output To command may place the controls
in different rows, causing extra blank
spacein the RTF file.
and please have a check there are updates for exchange 2013 and will be available with the upcoming release of CU4 for Exchange 2013, that stated the format rtf was saved instead HTML. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2862739/en-us

Is there a way
to move the text field caption
to let say top whiles the entry field is at the bottom
example:

Select the TextField and choose Layout tab properties. And at the bottom of that screen you will see Caption Position and choose Top.

LOV return value to submit multi LOV/Text field order by value!

I have nested LOV and return value reflected to another LOV/Text field by order wise.
My problem,
The return value LOV or Text field should be dispay with one by one values order by (Dynamic).here i using the query in each LOV source.

Display text fields based on value

I have a form that has 7 text fields that are to be filled out. I have an ajax process that auto-populates those 7 fields with values based off of the return value of a pop-up dynamic LOV. Is there any way that I can hide the last 5 fields based on a certain value of one of the text fields?
For example, my fields are:
P1_Badge (LOV query)
P1_First_Name
P1_Last_Name
P1_Title
P1_Phone
P1_Room_No
P1_Email
P1_Fax
The LOV returns a Badge number and populates the rest of the values. But if the Last_Name = 'Smith' then I only want to display Badge, First_Name, and Last_Name and I want to hide the rest of the fields or make them disabled for editing.
Is this possible without any kind of page submit?

How to populate a text field by some value from table in Oracle seeded page through Personalization?

I have to populate Description field by default in AGIS page (Advanced Global Intercompany System).
Field Description:
messageTextInput: Description
VO: FunTrxHeaderVO
VO Attribute: Description
VO is entity based.
Now if the field is null then I have to populate this value by some value from table for selected batch_id.
Example:
(SELECT DESCRIPTION FROM fun_trx_batches WHERE batch_id =
211061)
Also, this value is being populated in the Batch Information region in the same page. So the problem is also be treated as to copy a value from one messageStyledText to messageTextInput in a same page.
Can this be done through personalization, w/o coding?
Please suggest if you any idea how to resolve..

How do I create a global text field so the value will repeat on other pages?

This is the first time I've used Adobe Livecycle Designer ES2, My experience stems from Acrobat Pro 8. I have the following fields:
1. Date Field (date formatted)
2. Name (text formatted)
3. Chart # (numeric formatted)
4. Date of Birth (date formatted)
These fields will be on Page 1.. I have a form that's 4 pages.... once the user fills in the fields on the first page, I want it to automatically populate for pages 2 through 4. How can I make this possible?
Second question: How do I make Extended Features for reader without distributing the form? There's an easy way to do it in Acrobat Pro, just not sure how in Livecycle Designer ES2

Well, everything in those PDFs were form fields. You can make form fields in Acrobat - and then you can right-click on 'em and change their appearance, whether or not they'll accept rich text input, whether or not they'll scroll, and so on. It could also be done in LiveCycle Designer, for what it's worth. I wrote a now-obsolete post about this in response to yours before Mike showed up with this video.
Probably most of your work on your designs in InDesign would need to be trashed; you'd need to rebuild the whole thing in Acrobat or LiveCycle. I have to say that, unless your targeted documents are extremely simple, that this is one of the worst document translation workflows I've ever seen in the last fifteen years. It might work - I'm trying to keep an open mind, here - but if you have any non-Latin-script languages in your target list, or if print reproduction is what you're after, or if you're expecting tracking revisions to the translations to be anything but a nightmare, I would suggest that you test this method inside and out before progressing any further.

Using radio buttons to set the value of a text field

I have a set of three radio buttons on a form (a performance evaluation). If I select the "1" button, I want 1 to populate in the text field. The same goes for "2" and "3"
I have not been able to code the buttons correctly for this scenario, and can't figure out how to do it.
From a previous post, I was able to get check boxes to do what I want, but they won't really work because I can't set them so that only one back may be selected.
Can this be done?

The information for this specific case isn't anywhere. The best that you can do is understand what triggers each of the events, then ask yourself which of those triggers are pertinent to your current issue.

The above link contains a great deal of information regarding how to use scripts within Livecycle Designer. The section that you would be most interested in in order to learn about the available events can be found under "Events >> List of Events".
You needed to use the initialize event so that the text field would be updated when the document was opened. This ensure that the text field has the value of the default radio button when it is opened for the first time.
You needed to use the change event so that, when the use selects a different radio button, the text field is updated with the new value.
That's about it. That PDF file that I link to above is a bit long, but it's a great place to get a good grasp of the basics of scripts.

How do I 'commit' a value in a text field with GUI scripting?

I have a script to change the dates of a "Roll" in iPhoto. I can insert the text into the proper field, but it doesn't 'stick'. When I click on another item, the text field returns to the old date. If I click on the text field before I run the script, then a Tab or Return from the keyboard will set the field properly.
Do I need to programatically set the 'focus' on the field first? Without setting the focus first, a "keystroke return" is caught by the top window and either beeps or opens a photo for edit (as one might expect).

Thanks for the reply. Backstory: My iPhoto library got corrupted, so I created a new one and dragged in the old Library. The Rolls all have the date the new rolls (directories) were created; all the same in this case. Sorting the rolls by date is thus nonsensical. The AppleScript for iPhoto doesn't handle what I want to accomplish, but the UI scripting might help me out.
When the whole Library is picked, you can 'view' by "Film Rolls" and the date appears in the bar above each roll of photos. You can change the date in the "Information" area available at the lower left. (The same area you change the title of the rolls or photos, too.) I want to change the roll dates to match the photos' dates.
So I fired up UI scripting and figured out that I can fetch the date range of the photos in a roll and then set a date for the roll. I can see the date change in the text field, but it doesn't 'stick'. Only if the field has been clicked on prior to running the script, can I "keystroke return" to 'enter' the field. Otherwise I'm looking for suggestions.
Slightly off topic: The whole right side of the iPhoto screen is a big black hole for UI events. You can't tell anything about it with the UI Element Inspector. I can't automagically 'pick' anything in there, so I can't 'select' the rolls from a script. I'll settle for clicking on a roll and then running a script to correct its date.

With this code, the updated values for the attributes CodeDescription, PurchasingCategoryCd are getting inserted into the database table but they are now showing up in the text fields when a value is selected in lov.
Please tell me what is the mistake I'm doing.

I'm using Lov Map to populate the lov field say field A. But I need to populate another field say field B based on the value selected in field A.
to give an example of my requirement. Consider a view object having attributes col1,col2,col3 and having following data.
col1--col2--col3
1-----a-------x
2-----b------y
3-----c------z
I 'll populate the lov of field A with values in col1. when user selects value 1 in field A. automatically field B should show value 'a'. If user selects value 2 in field A, field B should show value 'b' so on.

Hi, what lines of ADDT code makes it possible for a text field to remember value?
For example I have 2 text fields on my form and my database is set not to allow null values. If I fill only first text box and click submit, my form will remember the first text box value and will instruct me to fill seconds text box.
My problem is that some fields on my form do not remember the values entered if I make a mistake when filling my form.

This script remembers the value entered into any form textbox (input type=text) by the visitor, and upon his/her return, preloads the textbox with that value. It's very useful for forms that get used repeatedly by the same visitors and contain the same values each time, such as the "name" or "email" field of a "Recommend Site" form or blog comments form. Just as useful is this script's ease of installation- specify a form textbox value to be retained just by giving it a class="memorize" attribute!

i have a select menu. when i change the value of the select menu, i have the event method and in the event method i change an value of a other input text field, but in the html page, the input text doesn't change his value.
i bind the input text field to the value field in class with the folowing command.
