Popup Menus Dissappear too fast.

I have an application that uses Right-Click popup menus. It worked fine with
CVI v4.01. We upgraded to CVI v5.5 and now they pop up and disappear faster
than they can be clicked on. What governs the timing of these popups? How do
I lengthen their screen display time. They disappear even when the cursor is
located within the menu popup.

no, cuz if it extends outside the applet or frame, it usually uses a Window as the root popup container, so it shouldn't do that.

  • Spry accordion open on mouseover with extra content if too fast

So I already did this and got the spry to open with a hover,
Go to line 213 (or thereabouts) to find
    Spry.Widget.Accordion.prototype.onPanelTabClick = function(e, panel)
    and change that to
    Spry.Widget.Accordion.prototype.onPanelTabMouseOver = function(e, panel)
but if you move too fast up and down the menu it opens the other contents and leaves it there see webpage:  move your mouse fast up and down the menu to see.  How do I make sure it is completely closed.  I noticed this does happen to on a Click if you switch too fast between tabs.

so is there really no way to fix it? My client already has that, and it's not practical, we want to be able to see all the options for the sub-menus open when we are in one of the tabs.
Let me know if there is really no way around it.  I'm actually pretty sure that the background for the next tab is stuck behind the content.  Take a look at this site and see how they have a delay in there accordion.

  • Popup Menus not working - software, not DVD

    Hi.
On PowerBook G4 1.67, 1GB RAM OS 10.4.11 I use DVD Studio Pro 2.0.5. I use it once every three months to make a set of ads that runs on a theater screen. Occasionally I use it in between for small projects where iDVD just isn't quite enough (or too much, as the case may be).
Since I last used the software I've installed at least one 'Security Update' and can't remember when I installed the x.x.11 update (before or after last time I launched DSP2).
Anyway, I have a problem with some of the popup menus in the inspector window, or palette, where settings for objects (menu, track, buttons, etc) are made.
For example, on launch, new empty project, the popup menu "First Play:" will empty and not actually pop up any options when I click on it. The same thing happens with "End Jump:" and "Target:"
I've searched through this forum but keep only finding questions and answers about actual DVD menus and no mention of anybody else having this weird bug.
Does anyone know what might be going on?
I've deleted the .plist file from my ~/Library folder and reinstalled DSP2 to no avail. Any other suggestions?

I have the same mysterious problem. I have a Dual PowerPC G4 running Os x 10.4.11.
Running DVDSP 2.05 I believe everything was fine until I did some online update. Very aggravating.

    Hi All,

A little reserved? I'm rabidly opposed to it. A menu system

  • Popup menus getting cut off...

I'm writing an applet, using Swing, which is contained within a small pop-up browser window. Within my applet i'm using a number of popup menus.
The problem is in certain situations, when the pop-up menu is very wide, its gets cut off by the sides of the browser window. However when the pop-up menu is very tall and extends past the bottom of the browser window, the menu appears over the top of the window and so isn't cut off.
So its clear that a pop-up menu can extend outside of the browser window, but i need to make it so it will do this when the menu is to wide, not just when it is too tall. I thought it might have something to do with menus being lightwieght components by default, so I tried using setLightWeightPopupEnabled to force the menus to be heavywieght, but this didn't seem to help.
Anybody got any ideas on this?

no, cuz if it extends outside the applet or frame, it usually uses a Window as the root popup container, so it shouldn't do that.

  • Do swing components work in sub-menus of popup menus??

I want to have a JSlider as a component of a sub-menu of a pop-up menu. it shows up but acts very strangely. If I grab the slider handle and drag, nothing happens. If I click to one side of the handle, the slider makes single steps repeatedly until it catches up with the position i click on.
On the other hand, if I add a JSlider to a top-level pop-up menu, it works just fine.
are swing components supposed to work in sub-menus of popup menus??
i'm running java 1.5 on Windows XP.
    Thanks, - Conal

The music store is part of iTunes. That is why they are together on the menu. As many topics would offer the same advice for music in your library or music in the store, grouping them together makes sense in terms of reducing redundant entries.
Sorry you found it confusing. I, too, once found some things Apple a bit different. That was about two years ago when I bought my iBook. StarDeb is another recent switcher. And I feel confident in saying this: either of us would be more than happy to help you with anything that gets "lost in translation". • Close captioning appears and disappears too fast

My wife is deaf and depends on closed captioning.  When we use the built-in caption on a FIOS HD/DVR, the speed at which captioning appears and disappears is too fast to read.  If I view the same channel using one of our TVs built in captioning capability, it is fine.  Unfortuately,  we need to use the FIOS captioning capability for a projector that does not have built in captioning.  How do I slow down the speed of the captioning?

I am having the same problem. I have been told by Verizon support, that they do not offer CC service within their box, and that CC must be turned on from the TV.
Of course, that doesn't work in High Def mode on our TV, so we are forced to use standard definition, with a high def receiver and TV
It is also annoying to use the TV's CC decoder, as the TV CC decoder doesn't disable when you pull up the FiOS guide, therefore making it impossible to read the guide.
When using the built-in CC service of the Box, the CC service is disabled while using the menus or browsing the guide.
Comcast, Dishnetwork, and DirecTV all support closed captioning within their set top box. Verizon FIOS Does not ? (even though the box can physically do it, but Verizon has chosen to cripple it)
I am 99% happy with the Fios quality... but that they are choosing to not support the CC service is disappointing.

  • How should I debug a PVM that is crashing & rebooting too fast ?

I have a newly created oel4u6 PVM that appears to be starting but then crashing & rebooting too fast and I don't know how to best debug it. The vm is a P2V'ed oel4u6 HP Blade that successfully boots as a HVM but I can't seem to get it to fully start as a PVM (I have several clones that I am working with to contrast/compare).
I can't seem to get the console to start fast enough to show me anything useful as the crash is within seconds.
I likely can flip the VM back to HVMPV mode or HVM and boot to the original kernel but if I boot to another kernel I am not sure what files in the VM (if any) may give any insight on the failed starts/crashed.*
Anyone have any ideas/recommendations on how to debug this?*

  • Can't burn disc via iTunes. Burn speed too fast. AGAIN!

"iTunes can't burn this CD because the burn speed is too fast for your CD burner or media. Choose a lower speed in the burning pane of iTunes Preferences then try burning again".
I have been having on going problems burning CD’s in iTunes for YEARS, and I know I am not the only one. I get the error message above. Having checked the forum at the time, and posted for help, I am know there is no real solution except to change brand of disc.
Thing is, now I can’t get ANY brands to work. I’ve been through Verbatim, Maxell, JVC, Sony, but none work. The only brand that would work were TDK audios which I can no longer find anywhere.
I know its not the burner, as Toast works fine, and I know I am not alone. Anyone got any ideas?
Even after years Apple seem to be blanking this question. It’s very frustrating not being able to burn my purchased itunes downloads to disc.

To anyone who is interested I think I may have found a possible solution. When you put a blank disc in the drive, wait about 30-60 seconds or so for it to stop spinning before burning.
This seems to work. It's a bit sticky but eventually works. I tried both TDK & Maxwell discs and 9 out of 11 worked. Absolutely no reason why the other 2 didn't, but it's a lot better than none.

  • DVD drive spinning far too fast on Equium

I have a problem with my DVD disc drive spinning far too fast to me. I have Windows XP on my Toshiba Equium laptop.
I haven't found any way to set CD / DVD spin speed.
I don't know if there is any, but I have used such feature in an other computer, and I would really much like to slow down the speed.
The problem with speed is not malfunction.
I don't face the problem with DVD:s, but the drive is too effective with CD:s, its literally too powerful.
The speed and noise are insane. If I touch the computer or the table where computer is, the shaking hurts my hands.
It's like a motor saw, and also sounds a bit loud.
I can't hear the game I play while CD is spinning.
I wonder the sturdy construction of my computer, while it's still not broken.

    Hello
I don't know which notebook model do you have but Toshiba has designed small tool for such purposes. It is acoustic silencer. When you watch DVD movei or when you listen music CD you can switch into silent mode and you will not hear that DVD drive works.
Visit Toshiba support page and check if this tool is available for your notebook model too.
    Bye

  • Why would my video clips be running too fast when played on the monitor panel?

I posted my problem earlier today, but re-reading it maybe I didn't explain myself well enough.
My main question is: "why would my video clips be running too fast when played on the monitor panel ?".  This is occuring after I have selected my media from the Tasks Panel and placed them in correct order in the Timeline/Sceneline.  I knew something was wrong when I could see that the clips were not indicating their right length when viewed in the (expanded) timeline.  They were compressed into just a few seconds, whereas the clips should have been at least 5 minutes.  I ran the clips in the monitor and sure enough they ran too fast, with a lot of jerking movements.
The 3 video clips I am trying to make into a HD PAL video were taken with my Nokia N8 mobile video camera. These are in mp4 format. Can this present a problem ?  Note that when I play these individual HD clips on my computer in (Windows Media Player) they run fine.
After I placed the clips in my Project Panel (or before in the Organize Workspace), I have perforned no change or manipulation of the clips.  They are in their original state.
Just too confirm that the clips did seem to be compressed, I burnt a DVD, the resultant video ran in a matter of seconds.
    Help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that is what the problem was.
Although the video camera on my Nokia N8, mobile was capturing at 25fps,
for some reason once transfered over to PrE9 (via file transfer), the clip was interpreted as 500fps.  Once in Interpret Footage I was able to change the fps to 25.
    Thanks for the help.

  • CD burner error: Burn Speed Too Fast

Whenever I try to burn a CD on my eMac an error message says
"iTunes can't burn this CD because the burn speed is too fast for your CD burner or media. Choose a lower speed in the burning pane of iTunes Preferences then try burning again".
It even says that when the burning speed is on x1. It says that on every speed. So does anyone know how I can fix this problem and make it be able to burn CDs? Is it because I have nearly 10,000 songs on my iTunes, so that is somehow making it slow down?
The blank disc I'm using is "High Quality Pure Silver CD-R 80 Tevion"
It has 700 megabytes (80 minutes) on it, and I want to burn a CD that is 60 minutes, exactly. So, help? Thanks.

Let me see if I can help you understand your delima.
Just because you buy a very expensive Media Brand, doesn't mean it is any good. There is such a wide range of quality in CD's and DVD's it is really hard to select what is considered to be the best.
A very good guide to use for Media in general for both CD, and DVD's is below.
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
Next there are a couple of KEY points to remember when burning, these will help you.
Never have any other Applications open when burning.
I tend to use either CD-R or DVD-R Media, the reason is these 2 formats are the most widely used and recognized in all Players, and Computers alike.
Always choose the slowest speed to get a high quality burn.
This next suggestion is probably the most important.
Not all CD-R's and DVD-R's are the same
    Read the packaging carefully
Many will explain that they will burn at all speeds from 1X upwards
This will help insure that your burner Software will choose the correct speed.
