Port for External Debugger

What port number should I use to connect to the external debugger?
I have ODT for vs.net 2005. I have Oracle 10g XE. I can connect to XE from vs.net and browse via the Oracle Browser, so I assume I should be able to try the PL/SQL Debugger out.

Please read the online help, specifically the Debugging chapter for details about how this all works. In summary, in the options page, you need to pick a port range that is not blocked by your firewall. Then you need to decide if you will be doing "Direct Debugging", "Multi-Tier Application debugging" or "External Debugging".
It sounds from your post like you are trying to use "External Debugging". Normally you would not use that unless you are debugging ASP.NET apps.
If you are debugging a .NET application, you will probably use "Multi-Tier Application debugging" and in that case you can just follow along with my blog.
If you really are using "External Debugging" then when prompted you need to provide the port number that you will be providing in the environment of the external application (eg the IIS server or whatever the application is).
What I have said above will all make more sense after you read that chapter...

You need to open TCP and UDP port 3283 and, for ARD 2.0 and later, TCP and UDP port 5900. For encrypted file transfer (ARD 3.x), open TCP port 22. You may also need to open TCP (and perhaps UDP) 5988 and 5989, though it's not clear under what circumstances this will be necessary.

Can't use front USB port for external Hard Drive

I have had some problems for about the past year with the front USB port on my 2009 13in Macbook Pro 5.5.
As you know, there are 2 USB ports on the left side on a 13inch Macbook pro. The one closest to me (the front one) works fine when I use it with a flash drive. But when I connect my external 7200RPM external drive to it, after about a minute, it ejects then re-recognizes the disk.
I video edit with FCP and use the external as one of my scratch disks.
At first I thought maybe it was the cord or the drive that was messed up. But then I connected my other external drive to this port and the same thing happened.
But when I connected it to the back USB port, everything works fine. I haven't had any trouble. So i make sure it's connected to that port when using the external.
Why would this be happening. It only screws up when using a standard external drive but not flash drives or any other peripherals.

I bought a Seagate 500GB 7200RPM and bought an external case from Staples that has a big fancy led to show HD activity. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Tested it on my PC and it works all the time so it got me stumped. Thought it was my MB.
Decided to try another external drive drive on my MB and everything works. So I returned the fancy external enclosure and bought the simple $10 one.
Now everything works fine.
Maybe changing your external case might help you.

Low power on USB port for external hard drive

Hi all!
I'm new here and I have some question about my brand new hybrid - HP Envy x2.
Couple days ago i found an issue that usb ports are powered by from motherboard even when tablet with dock is turned off or in hibernation mode. This is problematic when I leave device with plugged usb hub, external HD, speakers (powered from usb port) and mouse. After 8 hours in work when I go back home I saw that battery is about 10-15% lower than before leaving Envy x2. I disabled USB charge mode in BIOS, but after that I have problem with working of my external HD.
When I try to attach hard drive to computer and then I try to turn it on nothing happens - looks like system (Windows 8.1) can't boot. But after immediate unplugging HDD from USB system goes to procedure of starting. I also tried to plug Toshiba HD after turning on my Envy x2 and being in desktop, but nothing happens. Light on HD is blinking, I can hear from it sound like clicking (trying to start?). Also HD is visible in Device Manager but not in My Computer (as additional partition).
I have tried to change boot options in BIOS by positioning of devices (priority to boot from CD ROM, HDD, OS etc.) but did not fixed problem.
After couple of tests provided to found why my HD did not work properely in disabled USB charge mode I know that USB port did not give minimum value of power from supply. I found cable with one plug on one side, and with two plugs on other side (like "Y" type). Then i plugged one end into first USB port, then second end in second USB port and finally - last end of cable to m HD and booooom! It works!
Here is my question: Is there any ability to change that kind of power supply on USB ports? I want to power mu external hard drive from one USB port, not from two. I have USB hub but don't want to use two USB ports (on the opposite positions of docking station) and additional USB cable. I have the most recent BIOS (F12) and all fresh drivers installed on my computer.
Any solutions?

Using different SMTP port for external user registration

I need to configure a different SMTP port rather than the default port 25 for sending all external user registation invites, reset password, etc... Would it possible to configure that? I am using Adobe Policy Server 7.0.2.

Ok a small 'enhancement' to CL_HRRCF_ADDRESS_SERVICE->IS_EMAIL_UNIQUE has done the trick. Not exactly a best practice but will get me through this testing. NO this will not be going to production. This is strictly a test.

Ports for Macbook Pro to monitor screen

I just bought a Macbook Pro 2 Ghz i7, 15" laptop and it doesn't seem to have connections(ports) to a separate monitor screen, what can I do?

Your MBP has a Thunderbolt port for external video connections. You can connect an Apple Thunderbolt Display to it with a Thunderbolt cable, or any other display using a mini-Displayport adapter to whatever sort of connection your monitor offers: VGA, DVI or HDMI.

External debugger for other frontend systems!?

How can I find out this function module...
(I know that function group which contains more than 25 function modules)...
Can I put external debugger for this RFC(If find).?

I got this,
you should have user name and password to acces that HTTP(.Net) page.
Ofcourse its mandatory.
Same user name should have Debugging authorization in the SAP system, where its targets.
And You can give that user name at DEBUGGING setting and make sere that check box for session debugging on for that user.
Hope you know path for above settings,
UTILITIES -> SETTINGS-> ABAP Editer -> Debugger tab.

Create 1 or more External Instrument tracks as required.
You could send the MIDIFile to a track set to "All" MIDI channels, or if needed, you could split the file by channel and create indivisual tracks for each.

Which USB port for extra power for external Superdrive?

I just bought an external USB slimline optical drive that doesn't use AC power, instead it comes with a USB Y-connector so that it can use two USB ports for power. I can't really spare the extra port. I read that the Mac mini 2011 is compatible with the Apple USB Superdrive. It does this by supplying additional power over USB, like the MacBook Air. I've tried my drive with just a single port and it powers on and can do some stuff, but suddenly it'll crap out and the OS will tell me the disk was removed without being ejected. I've determined it's a power issue. Does anyone know which port in particular the extra power is delivered through? I'd test myself, but I'm afraid I may be damaging the optical drive when it craps out.

Excel Services Connectivity on Sharepoint 2013 for external user

Currently , external user is able to refresh the data on sharepoint site through browser. the data connection is pointing the one of the external data source. But how can an external user (Internet user which accessing sharepoint through internet) download
a copy of excel in sharepoint library and open the excel workbook with data refresh ability at client machine ?
Do we need client machine to be able to access / ping the external data source?

They want to perform data analysis and design their own report with own template , for example : to remove subtotal from the powerpivot tables which we cannot change the formatting at the excel services at browser level.
So if i understand correctly, we need to get the client machine to be able to access to the database server directly to get the access to the cube for data analysis although we had this odc file connection setup, am i right?
For internal user, network team should open port / access for them to access database server directly.
For external user, either to open public access to the database server directly or setup a VPN connection for the external user to access the database server in their secure network.

How to Open Ports for HP Printers for all computers within the network (router)

I have the EA6700 router and a few HP printers and Multi purpose printers/scanner/fax ...
When installing the print drivers, they are ok. Sending to printers are not a problem. However, the problem comes with scanning.
The HP Software ask to open a port for it... How do I do that? I checked, it seems other computers are affected by it too after changing to this new router.
I read that it can be done on the "App and gaming" section at the Security page. Do I go to the port forwarding section? But it only forward to one computer. that doesn't work...
I'd like to open a port and a lot of other IPs can print and scan from it.

Ports are not needed to be opened on the LAN side of the router for Printers and Scanners. I recommed that tiy contact hp for help and information regarding setup and configuration of those devices. Also the addition of a external Gb network switch for these devices is recommended as well. Would help eliminate any un-necessary router configuration or processing.

I think that maybe something is wrong with my wsdl.

Hi Milan,
this kind of error occurs when there is no service and end point description in the WSDL of provider who's service you are trying to consume using Consumer Proxy.
Just open the provider's WSDL URL that you have given while creating Logical port for the consumer proxy and check if service and end point exists there.

Splitting the Time Capsule USB port for 2 devices ??

So if i have and external HD plugged into tc usb port and I also need to plug in a netflix ready blue ray player to the same port- is there a splitter I can buy to do this or what other options do i have?
I have an extra airport extreme I am not using-could I run an ethernet cord to it and use that usb port for my second device without and problems?

First, yes it is possible to attach multiple devices to the TC's USB port. You will need a USB hub though. Some users have discovered that not all hubs are compatible with the TCs USB port. So you may need to shop around if the first one doesn't work.
However, the USB port on the TC is designed primarily to handle external HDs or printers. That is, it is designed to make them available to your local network, not to the internet. So I have doubts that the BR player will be able to have full interest access via the TCs USB port.
