External debugger for other frontend systems!?

Hi,
I am working on one issue,
I.E.
There is dotnet front end page --- where I am getting some error(not syntax or any its functionality error)
And the coding part behind this functionality is done in RFC function module!
How can I find out this function module...
(I know that function group which contains more than 25 function modules)...
Can I put external debugger for this RFC(If find).?

Hi,
I got this,
you should have user name and password to acces that HTTP(.Net) page.
Ofcourse its mandatory.
Same user name should have Debugging authorization in the SAP system, where its targets.
And You can give that user name at DEBUGGING setting and make sere that check box for session debugging on for that user.
Hope you know path for above settings,
UTILITIES -> SETTINGS-> ABAP Editer -> Debugger tab.

File Permissions on Oracle Directories for other Operating System Users

I am trying to export the table data to flat file using a pl/sql function using UTL_FILE package and directories created using 'CREATE DIRECTORY' command. The function is called from a stored procedure which in-turn is called from a Java program using JDBC and the Java process runs as different operating system user. The problem for me is the file exported is being written as 'ORACLE' user with 'OINSTALL' group and '-rw-r--r--' linux file permissions. When I try to read this exported file from the java program it throws me a file access error.
I would like to know if we can specify any additional parameters either in
1) Database parameter file
2) UTIL_FILE.FOPEN function
3) CREATE DIRECTORY command
so that the files written to the DIRECTORY have a read write access.

Since you attempting to read the file from Java, you are constrained by the OS.
Write a stored proc to read the file, since PL/SQL does have the correct permissions to read/write to files.

About to put EHP4 onto ECC 6 - are EHP's for other SAP systems required?

Hi All,
In our landscape we have ECC 6, Solution Manager, SRM, BI and Portal. we are about to start a project to put EHP4 onto the ECC 6 system, as a pre-requisite to this we are also putting EHP1 onto our Solution Manager system.
I have been told that we may also need to put EHP's onto all the other systems in our environment, does anyone else know if this is necessary as I assumed that the systems would still be compatable without the EHP's on SRM, BI and the Portal.

It is not required, but I would recommend it.
I just upgraded to EHP4 in ECC and also applied EHP1 to Solution Manager, XI, BI, and the Portal. This client is still using SRM 5.5 so we just applied Support Packages to it. The systems will still be compatible if you leave them alone, though there may be a few notes that have to be applied for some functionality. But since you are already going to have a maintenance window for ECC, you may as well upgrade the auxiliary systems while you are at it. If it is anything lik ethis environment, the other systems can be upgraded during wait times for the larger ECC system.
We also encountered very few issues related to applying the enhancement packages, so testing was very smooth.

Using an External Drive for Time Machine and Other Things

I have a 2TB external drive which I use for Time Machine Backups on my 2 macs. The macs have HDs of 500GB and 160GB so the external drive has ample space for backups.
Is it okay to use the external drive for other things that I don't care if they aren't backed up (like digital copies of DVDs)? i.e. Will Time Machine cause any issues if a drive is used for more than just Time Machine backups?

It's best to put such things in their own partition. See #3 in the FAQ.
You may also want to make separate partitions for each Mac's backups, if you're backing-up either one directly (ie, not over your network). See #4 in the FAQ.

How to use external debugger on ABAP using webdynpro application?

Im working currently on SAP Netweaver 04 ,EP 6 and R3 is 4.7
im trying to use external debugger in the R3 system via webdynpro application.We have created Jco connections with the same user id which is available on R3 system.the problem is tht external breakpoint on ABAP code is not pinging.we r not able to use external debugger of ABAP.
Can anyone help me out in resolving this issue?

Please try to activate your Debugging using the Tcode SICF.
To activate Goto SICF>EDIT->Debugging-->Activate Debugging

CSA on Other Operating Systems

When does Cisco plan to have a CSA client for other operating systems like SuSe 10 desktop and OES server?
Also, when will they have a client for 64-bit windows architecture? (64-bit may only seem like the buzz word of the moment, but with all future [Microsoft/Novell/SUN/Linux]Server technology coming out 64-bit it makes me nervous when in my environment is mandated to have CSA on all machines including Servers.)
Does Cisco have a client in development for additional operating systems?

There are QFS drivers for linux client support, not sure about windows.

Time Machine: removing the backup drive and using it for other data

I am trying to stop the time machine backups of my data and use my External HD for other data. Ia m new to the MAC world and I need to know how to do this. Almost like I want to shut Time Machine down and reformat the disk that was being used for the backups. Thanks for the help.

The big switch in the Time Machine preference pane stops Time Machine from performing automatic backups. I would be inclined to recommend you switched that to off but left the disk assigned as designated backup disk on the Change Disk panel because, if there is nothing assigned there, Time Machine will ask you every time a disk is attached which it could use whether you wish to so assign it.

Port for External Debugger

What port number should I use to connect to the external debugger?
I have ODT for vs.net 2005. I have Oracle 10g XE. I can connect to XE from vs.net and browse via the Oracle Browser, so I assume I should be able to try the PL/SQL Debugger out.

Please read the online help, specifically the Debugging chapter for details about how this all works. In summary, in the options page, you need to pick a port range that is not blocked by your firewall. Then you need to decide if you will be doing "Direct Debugging", "Multi-Tier Application debugging" or "External Debugging".
It sounds from your post like you are trying to use "External Debugging". Normally you would not use that unless you are debugging ASP.NET apps.
If you are debugging a .NET application, you will probably use "Multi-Tier Application debugging" and in that case you can just follow along with my blog.
If you really are using "External Debugging" then when prompted you need to provide the port number that you will be providing in the environment of the external application (eg the IIS server or whatever the application is).
What I have said above will all make more sense after you read that chapter...

I wish they would have made one port has mini-dvi and other thunderbolt for backward compatibility untill some vendor comes up with converter.

My 320GB external drive for Time Machine now only has enough capacity to keep a backup of one day. All my other backups are gone. What can I do to fix this situation?

I've been using a 320GB external drive for time machine for the last several years. The backups always worked fine and when necessary I was able to look at & restore older data from the time capsule. Recently, I keep getting the message that a backup cannot be completed and an older backup will be deleted. Usually this wasn't an issue because I still had several months of information on disk. Now a one-time backup takes up 315GB and therefore I only have a backup of the previous day. I don't understand this because I thought that the backup only saves information that has changed and doesn't copy everything everytime. What do I need to do to get my backups to a reasonable size so that I can keep at least 1 month data stored on it.? Please don't tell me I need a larger drive ... that would be too easy.

Get a larger drive for your TM backups.
The recommended size is 3 times what you are backup. So if 315 GB is a backup then you need a 1 TB drive.

Yes, if they are not exclude then TM backs them up.

Select the desired location in preferences, then consolidate the media files to it.

Wow, the wording in Migration Assistant is misleading. I've never used it before, so I thought I would try to copy my files from the external drive ... my old iMac died, but I managed to get everything I need off it, using the 'cp' command in single-user mode. So I guess I'll just have to manually copy the files from the external drive to the new machine. I was hoping that Migration Assistant might help somehow, but obviously not.
