Portal Application Java / IView : Setting a property

Hi!
Please help me to solve this problem!
I have got an IView with a Height of 200; now i have to modify this value with a Portal Application.
Here comes the code....:
if (request.getComponentContext().getProfile().isPersonalizableProperty("com.sap.portal.iview.Height")){
System.err.println("Original Value "+request.getComponentContext().getProfile().getProperty("com.sap.portal.iview.Height"));
System.err.println("Setting");
                          request.getComponentContext().getProfile().setProperty("com.sap.portal.iview.Height","100");
System.err.println("Checkpoint");
                  request.getComponentContext().getProfile().store();
         System.err.println("New Value "+request.getComponentContext().getProfile().getProperty("com.sap.portal.iview.Height"));
Now:
1)Deploy
2)IView Preview
LOG :
Orignal Value 200
Setting
Checkpoint
New Value 200
The new value should be 100....not 200.....
Where is the mistake?!???!
Thanks.

Hello,
I have tried the code on my end and i was able to change the height property value.
Check this code here i have created a portal application project:
Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
     IPcdContext.PCD_INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY);
env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, request.getUser());
env.put(Constants.REQUESTED_ASPECT, PcmConstants.ASPECT_SEMANTICS);
InitialContext iCtx = null;
iCtx = new InitialContext(env);
IiView result;
result =(IiView) iCtx.lookup("pcd:portal_content/Test1/com.local.New1");
result.putAttribute("com.sap.portal.iview.Height","100");
result.save();
and also you have to include the references in the portalapp.xml
Let me know for more information.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks.

  • SSO between Portal and Java WD application

    Hi Experts,
    I am using CE 7.2 on localhost and I am very new to SAP.
    I need to know how can I get SSO between Portal and Java WD.  I have a WD application that displays the logged in user using "IUser currentUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser().getSAPUser()", as well I can use "IUser user = UMFactory.getAuthenticator().getLoggedInUser()".  Both work.
    Q1. What is the difference in the 2 above?
    Q2. My WD application is set to authenticate user.  The WD application is in URL iView.  I need SSO between Portal and WD application.   Is there a way to get this SSO without SAP Backend (ECC), for now I just need SSO between Portal and Java WD appl.
    Everything is in localhost.
    Please advice. Thanks.

    > need to know how can I get SSO between Portal and Java WD.
    Then I suggest you ask your question in the Web Dynpro Java forum instead of the Web Dynpro ABAP one.

  • A Portal Application IView (again)

    Hi!
    This Portal Application 'create' an HTML document with a Form: this Form may contain 1 or 2 Tables.
    IPageContext context = PageContextFactory.createPageContext(request, response);
    Form form = context.createFormDocument("xxxxxxxxxxxxx");
    FormLayout layout = new FormLayout();
    layout.addComponent(....);
    form.addComponent(layout);
    context.render();
    This IView has a Height of 200 px.(set into SAP EP)
    Now....i'd like to know it there's a way to get the Height of the Table(s) in the Form that i have just created...because i need this value to resize the IView that now is too big when the Form contains only 1 Table.
    Thanks!

    I think what you are asking, might have something to do with Dynamic Memory Management. Memory allocated during runtime for variables. And Java supports it. Since, a portal application is nothing but a Java application, you should be able to implement successfully what you asked.
    But, the technical specifics of how you implement above is something I do not know.

  • Is it possible to cal web dynpro java application using portal application?

    Hi,
    is it possible to cal web dynpro java application using j2ee portal application?
    If possible, how can it be done the parameter mapping over context area?
    Regards.

    you can just append parameter to the url as usual.
    you will write some code in the controller to get the parameters and set them to the context.

  • Portal Java Iview Runtime - Urgentt

    dear All Portalers,
    we got high issues when SAP ESS/MSS Implementatin for our customer, we got issue about HTTP Session maximum and cause error message "Java Iview Runtime .."
    first, this is our landscape
    1. We Have SAP EP 7 installed with UME integrated with LDAP (Ms. Exchange 2003)
    2. We use SAP ECC 6 SR3 as our Backend System
    3. We use ALL SSL Commnunication between Portal and Backend
    4. We use SPNEGO for User Authentication Mechanism, so User Join Domain, directly open portal when run Internet Explorer between input User and password
    5. Each Uses LDAP mapped use User Mapping
    But, after we launch to customer, we got big problem about Session
    Here, reproduce the error
    1. User Join to Network Domain ( e.g. CORP.CO.ID)
    2. After User/laptop join Network Domain and open browser https://portal.CORP.co.id/
    3. Directly, User logon automatically at Home of SAP ESS/MSS
    4. User finish transaction at SAP Portal and want to Out from Portal by Log off, but after Log off automatically back to entry ( is is Normal ??? )
    5. User very annoying, so user close browser
    6. After 10 seconds, user Open Browser again, open browser https://portal.CORP.co.id/ but user got this message
        "Java Iview Runtime...bla bla bla"
    can any help us , i already set OSS Message Very High ... but didn't solve this problem
    thanks
    regards
    ghochi

    Hi Ghochi,
    First if you want user not to directly log in to Portal then disable the automatic logon setting frominternet explorer.
    Tools > Internet Options > Advance > Enable internet Authentication (uncheck checkbox) restart browser. Next time user will not directly login to Portal. But user needs to enter user ID/PWD every time.
    Coming to your problem for http sessions,
    1. On click of log off button, sessions are not getting released. Please check what is the value once user clicks on log off button. This you can check in Visual admin.
    2. Also, go to SM04 in ECC and check how many http sessions you are having.
    Thanks.

  • Set a language on the portal application

    Dear All,
    How I can write code to set a language on the portal application?
    thanks in advance,
    Marcelo Osako

    Hi Marcelo,
    I assume you mean how to change language for a single iView only. For changing overall language, the user can just go to the portal personalize page.
    For an iView, you can do a lookup of the iView and change the language, like so:
    InitialContext iCtx = null;
    String personalHello = "portal_content/DanielContent/DanRole/danWS/hello";
    try {
       iCtx = new InitialContext(env);
       IiView myIView = (IiView)iCtx.lookup(personalHello);
       myIView.putAttribute("ForcedRequestLanguage","de");
       myIView.save();
    You would have to do a personalized JNDI lookup, so the language is only changed for the user. However, this would permanently change the page for this user.
    Hope this helps.

  • SSO from portal to Java based web application not happening

    Hi,
    We are trying to configure SSO from SAP Enterprise portal with Java based
    web application(Solaris on SPARC 64 bit).
    Then we downloaded library files for "Solaris on SPARC 64 bit" from
    service market place from the path "Support Packages and Patches"
    Additional Components" SAPSSOEXT".
    We are successful in sending the portal side cookie to the application.
    But while loading the library files we get the following error
    INFO | jvm 1 | 2009/04/13 04:47:00 | java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError:
    /usr/local/blackboard/apps/tomcat/lib/libsapssoext.so: ld.so.1: java:
    fatal: /usr/local/blackboard/apps/tomcat/lib/libsapssoext.so: wrong ELF
    class: ELFCLASS64 (Possible cause: endianness mismatch)
    Can you please suggest us what went wrong in this whole process.
    But when i tried with the 32 bit library files i was able to load libsapssoext.so file but when I
    tried to initialize libsapsecu.so i got the below message
    java.lang.Exception: MySapInitialize failed: rc= 14
    Also do we require to take"SAPSECULIB" from Support Packages and Patches" ...>Additional Components" ...>SAPSECULIB" ...>SAPSECULIB 5.4  for this SSO activity.
    Please get back on this ASAP as we are nearing the golive date.
    regards

  • Java class reference error in Portal Application

    Hello,
    I have created a Portal Application Project with the Class
    "public class TEST extends AbstractTestComponent implements ITestable"
    in order to test the application.
    The test works fine with a simple code.
    Instead, using the external class HSSFWorkbook in order to create an excel file, the Enterprise Portal Unit Test return the following error:
    "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/poi/hssf/usermodel/HSSFWorkbook"
    I have tried to put the ZIP file of class into the folder "dist/PORTAL-INF/lib" and "dist/PORTAL-INF/exlib" but it doesn't work.
    Can someone tell me what I have to do?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Matteo.
    Edited by: Matteo De Santis on Feb 10, 2009 7:22 PM

    Hi,
    note that a portal application has two classloaders. one for the public part (src.api) and one for the private one (src.core).
    portal components reside in src.core by default. this means you need to load your jar file to the private class loader.
    so instead of dist/PORTAL-INF/lib use dist/PORTAL-INF/private/lib

  • Submit a webdynpro IView from a non-Portal application

    Hi,
    i have create a WebDynpro application. This application shows in a table a list of '. This reports are IView for Bex Web Application in a SAP portal. For navigation to this BW IView the WebDynpro application must be also embedded in a WD iView.
    The problem is:
    This WD IView will be requested by a non-sap/portal application with dynamic parameters and also with the POST method.
    In the WD application i have implemented the parameter request with following code:
    int i = 1;
    String name = WDWebContextAdapter.getWebContextAdapter().getRequestParameter("var_name_" + i);
    If the non-portal application submit the WD application directly -> the parameters are available.
    But when the non-portal application submit the WD IView, then the Parameters are 'null'.
    Thank you for quick response
    Anne

    Hi,
    yes I'm use the statement to submit the iView:
    <form action="http://server:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/Navigate/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fevery_user!2fgeneral!2fdefaultDesktop!2fframeworkPages!2fframeworkpage!2fcom.sap.portal.innerpage!2fcom.sap.portal.contentarea?NavigationTarget=ROLES%3A%2F%2Fportal_content%2Fcom.kwl.kwl-01.KWL-01%2Fcom.kwl.kwl-01-iviews.KWL-01-Iviews%2Fcom.kwl.WEB_DP%2Fcom.kwl.IW_GISBW&DynamicParameter="
    method="post">
    var_name_1<input name="var_name_1" type="text" value="ZHAMFSB"><br>
    var_value_ext_1<input name="var_value_ext_1" type="text" value="129191"><br>
    var_name_2<input name="var_name_2" type="text" value="ZHAMFSB"><br>
    var_value_ext_2<input name="var_value_ext_2" type="text" value="129761">
    <input type="submit" value=" Senden ">
    In this case the DynamicParameter will be send by GET.
    But i want use the POST Method.
    I get the parameters in both cases not in my WD application.
    What is the problem?
    Thank you
    Anne

  • Portal Eventing between WDP Java iView & non-WDP iView

    Dear Experts,
    I have 1 Web DynPro Java iView and 1 non-Web DynPro (using JSPDynPage and JSP) iView, both attached to a page. When Web DynPro Java iView fire a portal raise event, the portal iView did not execute the javascript function tied to the event subscribed.
    Here is the code snippet which reside in the Web DynPro Java iView that is used to fire the event
    String param = "test";
    WPortalEventing.fire("urn:com.company.Test1", "TestEvent", param);
    This the code snippet that is in the jsp page
    function notifyTest(param){
          // code to print param value is here
    EPCM.subscribeEvent("urn:com.company.Test1", "TestEvent", notifyTest);
    Note:
    1. When Web DynPro Java iView fire the portal event the entire page is refreshed, including the non-WDP iView.
    2. When EPCM is replaced with window.top.EPCM, the page is refreshed, it is totally hanged with progress bar.
    Can anyone help to solve this problem?
    Edited by: CloudSOmnislash on Apr 8, 2009 6:06 PM

    Kumar, Rui,
    I have all my code inside a web dynpro component. All that I have in dynpro to work with (or that's what I know so far) is a WDPortalEventing object that I can use to access the fire, subscribeEvent and unsubscribeEvent methods. I still haven't found a way to get to the actual EPCM object that the Portal runtime gives you through javascript. And even if I get there, how am I supposed to write javascript in my dynpro code and later pass the value stored in the client data bag to the web dynpro context ?
    Simon,
    I had tried a small app yesterday and it didn't work when the iViews were not assigned to the same page. I will see if I can change my code anymore and get it working. I will make fresh posts to this thread as and when I find anything that works. In the mean time, if you have webdynpro iViews that talk to each other across pages, do let me know how you are doing it!
    Thanks for your replies...
