I have a problem here with sap transaction iview - I opened an Oss and I was asked to send them all xml files of the iviews. As for now - I asked them where can I find it.

HI,
u talking about Iview's property(.xml) files? Should be inside the corresponding iview folder itself. Go to server do a search with *.xml on the folder /usr.

Trouble adding alias to the web.xml file (External Facing Portal)

I'm trying to implement the external facing portal. I don't really have any real custom content to add to it but have just created an iView that contains a webpage that's contained within a copy of the light framework.
I'm having trouble adding or accessing the alias that I've created to go to this iView.
I can test my iView by adding it to the master rule collection under one of the predefined aliases in the web.xml (e.g. portal/anonymous etc) but when i define my own (e.g. "ext" etc) and then go to http://portal:<port>/irj/ext I'm just getting an error:
The requested resource does not exist.
Details: Go to main page of this application!
This is what my entry in the web.xml file looks like:

Any ideas what this could be?

HTML and XML files open in same window(KM Navigation iView)

Hi All,
I have created a KM navigation which is pointing the folder inside the documents repository. This folder contains HTML and XML files. It is rendering fine. But, when I click on the file links in KM Navigation iView, it is opening in new window.Here I need to open in same window. How can I acheive this?. Please help me.

Missing XML files in Export of Portal Resource in WebCenter Portal App

Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0
1) Create a JSF fragment in the Portal Project/WebContent/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pages -> untiltled3.jsff.
2) From the Component Palette -> Webcenter Content Display Templates, drag a Content Template Def onto the jsff.
3) Create var = "node".
4) Drag an AdfOutputText into the contentTemplateDef.
5) Save.
6) In Application Navigator, right click on untitled3.jsff -> View Page Definition. No page definition has been created. Create a new page definition.
7) In Application Navigator, right click on untitled3.jsff -> Create Portal Resource.
7.1) Select my Content Repository Name(already created a content server Application Resource called UML)
7.2) Content Type - IDC:GlobalProfile
7.3) Content Type Default View: true
7.4) View ID - testTemplate
7.5) Display Name - untitled3
7.6) Content Directory - defaulted to /C:/Projects/Application1/Portal/public_html/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/shared/
8) Click OK.
9) In Application Navigator, right click on untitled3.jsff -> Export Portal Resource.
1) Export Archive File Name -> M:\testTemplate6102011
10) Click OK.
11) Results in the following:

which converts any object into XML.

Import of XML file failed in portal using XML Content and Action

I am trying to import the simple XML file which is just creating the folder in the PORTAL_CONTENT using XML CONTENT AND ACTIONS which is one way of creating the portal content. GO TO SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION > TRANSPORT > XML CONTENT AND ACTIONS > IMPORT.
The reason for using this import tool is to upload the backend Business roles, which is not not working on our corporate portal. To test the import functionality I used the following xml file (I got this XML file by exporting the test folder in the portal using the same tool)

XML File download through an iview

Hi All,
I've written an iview that builds up the data for an xml file and tableview report. The should be able to click a link on the iview and a window pops up and they can save the XML data to a local file.
I have two problems, the first is I am unsure how to pass the large amount of data from the first iview to the second "Download" iview. It is too big to fit as a form parameter. I'm hoping to add it to the component session. Do you think this will work?
The second problem is the download itself. I've created a basic component with a doContent method. I've tried setting the content type to "Application/octet-stream" by using the following code :

1.) If the complete data which should be downloadable is built in the first iView, it is no problem to add it to the component session. "Size doesn't matter"
What happens "physically" if you add something to a session? In fact, a reference to your (small or incredible fat) object is added into a hashtable or something similar.
(Excurs: That's why objects in sessions are called "live", because if you get a reference to an object of a session and manipulate this object with it's methods, the object in the session is manipulated, because it's the same object; that's the reason why you don't have to "update" such an object into the session).
So you don't have to worry about using the double amount of memory, because you are not.
2.) For iViews to be something different than HTML, put all the stuff into the overridden method protected void doOnNodeReady(IPortalComponentRequest request, IEvent event), retrieve the original HttpServletResponse via HttpServletResponse response= request.getServletResponse(true); and set the ContentType on this.
The trick is to be "early enough" in the sense that the content type must not have been set before.
With this, just implement an empty doContent method and put the rest of your download logic in the method stated above.
Just one more info, not needed here, but maybe interesting in this context: If you want do produce PDF's in this way, you have to be sure to put the PDF data "fast enough" into the output stream, otherwise the PDF-Reader could get stuck. This means first setting all data into a memory buffer and then sending this into the outputstream (and not calculating the data "while sending").

I guess I had mentioned that I want to read it via my webcenter portal app rather than login to ucms and searching it via url.
I want text labels and button names being stored in the xml file which I'm going to keep in the UCMS.
After reading that from the xml will be placed at appropriate locations like the button values and label feilds, so that we dont need to deploy entire app for this kind of simple changes.
Now can anyone provide some help with the api's related to this?

After you copyed the large chunk of code (as i discribe in step 1 and 2) you must rename:

How to read an XML file from embedded PAR file?

I have an XML file that has been included in the PAR file as a means of storage (instead of hosting it to a web server). Is there a way to read this file from within a java iView? I have tried various methods without much luck. (I can't seem to locate the file in the portal repository like I could with htmlb's Image class.
Any thoughts?

Unable to open the XML files in Nakisa

Hi Gurus,
We are unable to open certain XML files in Nakisa. They show up as encrypted in the notepad or fail to open using the XML Marker. The files in question are
AppResources.xml
LoginConfiguration_SAP_Standard
LoginConfiguration_Anonymous
Purpose: We want to enable the SSO with the portal . We have checked the radio button but nakisa does not recognize the SSO ticket from the portal (Any folder in Nakisa where we need to place the Portal ticket?)
Also we want Nakisa to show the org chart for the logged in user. Luke had mentioned that some changes need to be made in the AppResources.xml (hope i correctly remember this) and we were looking to make these changes (rather try out.. any pointers please..?)

These files are encrypted. If your organisation is a partner with Nakisa you can obtain the decrypter from them.
Portal SSO works without any configuration directly in the XML files. If you are getting an error stating that the Portal ticket cannot be interpreted then your configuration is not correct. In your URL iView you need to ensure the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) is used for the application URL. In the Administrator Console you need to ensure you enter the system details (Host, Sys Nr and Client) for the backend system which holds your SSO ticket for that Portal. You need to use FQDN here too.
There is additional security configuration that can be done in the XML files but SSO will still work with just the Administrator Console configuration.

Error after reload the standard XML file in UWL Configuration Wizard

We are working with UWL (EP7sp10) and encountered a problem. The UWL Configuration Wizard gave an error. We found on SDN/WIKI a posting with a workaround (<a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/BPX/UWL%2bConfiguration%2bWizard%2bshows%2bempty%2bdropdown">WIKI - UWL Configuration Wizard shows empty dropdown</a>)
We tried this working around, but it did not work. We uploaded the standard XML file again. Now we cannot access the link "Customize the look of the UWL main page" in UWL Administration.
We get a shortdump: 500 Internal Server Error

Hi Leurs,
 Try doing the following:
 1. Upload the new Standard XML file from the another portal server with same support version or replace the changes u made to original and upload
 2. Remove the cache
 3. Register for all systems
 4. preview the UWL iView.

How To...BI Java SDK in Portal iView Help

Hi all,
I'm trying to run the tutorial 'How To...Use The BI Java SDK in a Portal iView' but having some problems.
First, if i add to the portalapp.xml file the lines:
<property name="SharingReference" value="SAPJ2EE::library:com.sap.ip.bi.sdk,htmlb,com.sap.portal.ivs.connectorservice"/>
I get the following error:
Could not find portal application SAPJ2EE::library:com.sap.ip.bi.sdk.
If i add to the portalapp.xml file only the lines:
<property name="SharingReference" value="htmlb,com.sap.portal.ivs.connectorservice"/>
i get an exception that can't find the class com/sap/ip/bi/sdk/dac/connector/IBIConnection, although i think i added all the necessary jars to the project, because it compiles.
What am i missing or doing wrong ???
