Portal Logon image not changing

Hi Experts,
I am performing the branding of the portal login screen and have changed the branding-image.jpg and branding-text.gif files to the custom files i nthe Visual Admin - UME provider properties.
I restarted the instance but still the logon screen images are still not changed.
Can some one advise. I do not want to go the par file deployment way as I do not have anytime left in the project. Any ideas?

Images not changing after upload ?

Has anyone ever had this happen ? I have a site like a
myspace type social community site and well some people have been
having a problem where they upload the picture and it does not
change for them ? When I refresh on my end it shows up just fine
but on there end its showing up as the old picture, this is of
cource after they have hit reload, cleared out the chache etc .. I
am not sure what could be causeing it, could there be some odd
server cacheing going on ?

Support link in Portal logon page not working

Hi All,
We are using the ´support´ link on the logon page of our Portal. When we click the support link, the system asks for UserId and e-mail adress. When we fill this in correctly, the system responds by displaying "New password sent to e-mail adress".
However, the password is not reset or anything and we still have to logon with the original old password. Where can this problem be rooted and where do I start to look for the cause of this.
We are using CUA and this is set on ECC 6.0 production system.

I think your Portal is EP 7.0 SP12..
For logon page weare using two jar files umelogonbase.jar and com.sap.portal.runtime.logon_api.jar
There is some change in code of umelogonbase.jar file in SP12

Help: Lock Screen Image Not Changing :(

This is so annoying...even when I change wallpaper, the lock screen picture stays put. Tried resetting wallpaper to factory installed one but still doesn't change. How do I go about this pls? Or is there a way it can be changed without changing the wallpaper? Help out guyz... Thanks!

Still Images not changing and title cards doing same.

If i was to add 5 images into i movie and hit play when the image is meant to change it doesnt, it changes on the clip after the one is is meant to. Title cards do the same.
Its like some where to clip is being told to run for longer than i can see!

Welcome to the forum.
Along with John's question regarding the pixel x pixel size, have you thought about doing the work with the stills in PrPro, and then just Exporting as is necessary (or using ADL)? While Encore has a limited SlideShow feature, it is designed to work better with AV files, than stills.

Portal Logon Page image is not coming after patch update

Hi All,
I have recently updated my portal's patch from SP9 to SP10.
Due to this the portal logon Image is not showing.
How to solve this issue and what is the actual problem?
I have checked the logon folder where images are already there with the same name. Please help asap.

Nikesh,
With patch updates normally all standard SAP components are overwritten with the new par-, jar-files etc.
If you did your changes to the original logon par-file of SAP, it is overwritten.
If you used your own logon par-file, make sure this one is called upon login (Check the Visual Admin tool). Perhaps after checking/comparing to the new logon par-file for any changes.

Custom Logon image changes are not showing up

Hi All,
I am trying to customize logon screen. Since I only have the image and text change, I thought it would be easy to change the UME properties instead of changing the par file.
I have copied my images to the layout folder the same place where the default images are.
I edited the following properties using config tool to display new images and rebooted the server
ume.logon.branding_image
ume.logon.branding_text
When I got the logon page, the default images are gone and it now displays two icons of missing image in its place.
I also tried to restore to default images and change the new image to default image name. This time it picks up the image but sitll displays the default SAP image instead of custom image. I dont understand where it is picking up the image from as I have already replaced that image with the new image.
The directory that I placed my images are
(drive):\usr\sap\SID\JCNN\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.admin\servlet_jsp\*logon\root\layout*
I would be very helpful if some one can explain where to change the image properties so that my custom images are displayed on the logon screen.

Brading Image Not appearing in Portal Logon But appearing in /NWA /U

Hello Gurus ,
I am stuck up in a situation where in while doing the branding , I am able to see the branding image and text in
http://<SERVER>:<PORT>/NWA
http://<SERVER>:<PORT>/cms
http://<SERVER>:<PORT>/useradmin
But when I click on http://<SERVER>:<PORT>/IRJ
The red cross apears on the top woth no image being there . I am confused since what I did was changed the SAP stndard image name to branding-image1.jpg and Put My Image as branding-image.jpg .
this I did in both the folders - com.sap.portal.runtime.logon / layout
and com.sap.security.core.admin / layout
No changes were done in Visual Admin since the name of image is same as provided by SAP .
The worry part is if I click ln the Logon Page and check the properties : it shows
http://<Server>/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.runtime.logon/layout/branding-image.jpg
But when I go to http:/SERVER:PORT/NWA and see the image there properly and check the property of Image by right click :
it shows : http://XXXX/logon/layout/branding-image.jpg.
Now can someone tell . Why is there a mismatch ? Bcoz that is the reason I am not able to see the POrtal Branding Image .(In Visual admin we set the propeties as layout/BRANDING-IMAGE.jpg .. any connection there ??)...

while in NWA

As you told me I added the file extension here now .jpg and .gif But no difference it maked .
I think the link here is that in Visual Admin it enters as layout/branding-image.jpg
Can I change this to Path as appearing in IRJ :
irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.runtime.logon/layout/branding-image.jpg
beacuse the layout file as shown is prefixed with a root ... If someone can point to the root of that I can go prefix with my Root folder and Give exact path like irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.runtime.logon/layout/branding-image.jpg ...
And Yes there are no other servers / Its a single Instance , no Cluster wide instances here .

Goto System Administration => System Configuration => UM Configuration => Direct Editing.
In the set of properties listed there, change the value of ume.logon.branding_image to the location of your new image. Don forget to restart the portal server after making changes.
Place the image in the layout folder of your project which is nothing but the modification of the logon par file (com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak).

Download the par file com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak from
Go to System Administration -- Support -- Portal Runtime -- Browse Deployment.
The path should ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/pcd. Now download that file into local system.
Create a Par project and make necessary chenages ..i.e
Open the downloaded par file with WinZip and inside the lib folder three jar files named com.sap.
portal.runtime.logon_api.jar, com.sap.portal.runtime.logon_core.jar and umelogonbase.jar will be there. Copy those files in the folder u2018libu2019 in par project.
Now change a branding Image...i.e
Replace the branding-image. jpg with your company branding image in the same name.
Once modifications are done,then create a par project and upload the par file into portal.
Go to the path System Administration -- Support -- Support Desk -- Portal Runtime -- Administration console.
then browse the file and click on upload.
Connect to server where the Portal WebAS is running and go to:
(drive):\usr\sap\<system id>\<system instance>\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.admin\servlet_jsp\logon\root\layout.
There you will find the images used on logon screen, you can replace them for your
company images, please take care with the width of the images, as usual, to make this
change effective, you must restart the whole WebAS.

Logon Problems? Get support is not working in Portal logon Page

Hi Experts,
I have created A Role and assigned Logon_help action to it and assigned the Role to Anonymous group.
So i have Logon Problem? Get Support link on Portal Logon Screen. When i click on it, i was asked to provide userid and email id.
I have entered them. i got a message the my userid is reset and sent to my mail. but havent received any mail, and the password is changed which have to log in as admin and reset the password.
Help me this regards.

Portal Component Image changes doesn't reflect.

Hi All,
In our portal component (Par file) we have set of images.
The application is all working fine with the images.
Later as per requirement we changes the images to stylish icons, replaced these images in our parfile with the same names and uploaded the par file back into portal.
even after clearing all the cache in System Admin, deleting cookies in IE etc the images are not getting reflected in our application, it still displays the old images.
If we use a new image (with new file name) in the par file this is rendered in the application but not the new image with the old file name.
do we need to delete any existing versions of the par file in portal to take the changes.

we just renamed all the images and then their referenc in the par file.
this did works but couldn't find the reason & solution why it was not working with the old names.

There you can find com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak.
but i have not this file in tahat directoryl.
I have change directly the files in
C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
and it works!!
now i want to show in that page a list of News in km
Any idea how do that??

It is not a good idea to alter SAP files directly. Even if it works now, when a service pack update would be installed, it will overwrite your changes.

If you want to change the layout (html) of the portal login page, you'll have to do some development yourself. Maybe incorporate a KM iView?
