Portal Page Layout

Hello,
I have written 2 portal components and added them to a .sappage in visual studio 2003. This is defaulting to a 1 column page and although I can change this within the portal is there anyway to create a 2 column page using visual studio?
Thank you in advance.
Paul.

Hello Paul,
Unfortunately, there is only one default page layout in Visual Studio .NET - 1 column.
But as you mentioned you can edit page layout in the Portal.

Rima.

  • Change portal Page layout from Web Dynpro

    I have some problem:
I need to rearrange Portal Page layout from 2 columns to 1 collumn from Dynpro action. Decision to hide 1 Column or resize its width to 0 is good idea, but I do not now how.
Absolute Navigation is wrong idea, because I need to go back to multiply IViews mode and I will lost my data context.
I saw PageService - custom Portal service, where I can resize IViews.
In my Netweaver 2004 this class is absent.
Probably exist some Portal events to manage Page layout? Anybody knows?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
For this we have to use eventing among the webdynpro components of two different views. You can refer this example for this.

  • Portal Page layout from 1 col to 2 col

Can any one guide me how to see properties of a portal page and change layout from 1 column to 2 columns?

    Hi
You need to create a custom page layout. You can edit the JSP pages of 1 column layout and allocate 50% width for both the columns which previously was 100%.
    You can refer this documentation
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/9242a890-0201-0010-32a9-8516639c5afa
    Will certainly help you out....

  • How to adjust size of Portal Page Panels for WDA Applications

    Hi,
I am designing a Portal Page using Page Layout "3 Colums (Narrow:Wide:Narrow" for WDA application.  The problem is that the width of the web dynpro contents on the Left and Right panels ("Narrow" parts of the Page Layout) is not very wide, leaving lot of empty space between those panels and the Center ("Wide") panel.  Is there a way that I can adjust the width of each panel in the mentioned Portal Page Layout?
I went through SAP library which mentions using method lr_port_manager->navigate_absolute but I am not clear how to pass the width value in the method.  If that method is relevant, can someone give a code example (no copy/paste from SAP Library pls.) of how to put the width value (e.g., 300  in the method?  Also, in which method (e.g., WDDOINIT) I should execute the code.
    Will greatly appreciate the help!
    Thanks,
    Tony

You can easily create a custom page layout with your desired widths.

    Hello Jego.
We faced the same issue after upgrade to EHP1 SP07 last week and managed to solve it by modification of layout.jsp and com.sap.nw.wpc.layoutmanager.LayoutBean within com.sap.nw.wpc.designtime.par. SAP's code requires an additional catch handler, so it is better to rise an OSS message.
As a workaround you may change a default layout for wpc main page (good for new pages) or manually edit output.xml for existing pages.

  • Different Layout within a webflow for one Portal Page

    Hi All,
Can I set different layouts within one portal page journey depending on the hyperlink
I click on one of the portal page with in a webflow.
My requirements is such that if user clicks on one of the link on one of the portlet,
I want to show them the next page with different content in a different layout
with in same portal page journey.
Can anyone post the sample code to achieve this.
    Thanks
    Nitin

1 - you can not change the photo frame size if that is what you are asking
2 - you can enlarge the photo within the frame by selecting it and using the slider above the frame
3 - you can use a different page layout -- or even theme -- see Liz Castro's web site for examples of all available layouts for each theme -- http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/

  • Available Layouts for Creating Portal Page

Hi, When selecting a layout for creating a Portal Page we are presented with a plethora of available Layouts.
    1.  What is the difference between the 1 Column (Full Width) and Light: 1 Coumn (Full Width).
    2. Why would there be no Layouts with a Row Type Organization.  Everything is Column Based.  What if I want to Rows?
    thanks for any help.

    Hi Kenneth,
    1. Difference between 1 Column (Full Width) and Light: 1 Coumn (Full Width) is that the second is used for light framework which will not load HTMLB. If you compare the JSP code for the two layouts,  the container definition in light layout is not surrounded by hbj tags.
    2. As Ajay said, you can add multiple iviews in one container and you get multiple rows in a column. You can always create your own layout which can can have rows as well. One such layout from SAP is T-Layout (Top - Full Width; Bottom - Narrow:Wide).

  • How I can create a new page layout template for EP 7.0

Where I can found tutorial or description.
I have already provided the par-file for new page layout but I do not know like I should integrate in the enterprise portal 7.0.
    Greeting Daniela

when you already provided the par file then
    go to content admin->portla content
go to your folder in pcd content and right click and navigate to new-> layout. There you can find your deployed  new page layout par file.
Create a page layout based on the par file and in the properties make it as template.
Later when you try to create a page then you will get the new layout as one of the option.
Also check the below pdf links for step by step procedure
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6f959c90-0201-0010-d384-82f014cca705

These links as well work for EP 7.0 also
    Hope that helps you.

  • Error in using Custom Page Layout

    Hi all,
I have created some customs page layouts, and they are working fine in the Portal (EP 6.0 SP2).
Now I have imported them to another Portal (same version than the first one), I made an EPA pakage with the PCD objects for the new page layouts and deployed the PAR file containing the the JSP for the new layouts into the Portal.
The result of this is the following:
    - I am able to create a page and choose one of my customs layouts as a default layout.
    - When in the page I try to select 'Edit > Page Layout' I get a 'Portal runtime error', and in the page logger I see the following exception (see it copied below):
Am I missing any step in the transport? I think no but maybe there is something else I have to do.
Thank you very much in advanced and regards

    Hi Krishna,
I've been able to solve my problem.
It was something wrong when transporting the page Layouts with an EPA package from one Portal to another. Some properties were lost.
What I've done is to recreate manually the page layouts PCD Objects. And all it's working OK

  • Opening a Portal page from UWL item's click

    Hi,
I have written a custom UWL connector that connects to 3rd party system to fetch tasks.
This custom connector has  been registered with UWL and tasks from this 3rd party system are now appearing in my UWL.
The requirement is to open a Portal page on click of these UWL items.
That is, when user clicks on this custom UWL item, a Portal page should be opened in new window.
I tried setting item's executionURL to following (inside getItems() method of connector) : -
    1. https://myportal.com/irj/portal?navigationtarget=roles://portal_content/com.mycompanyPurchaising/com.mycompany.Purchase_Request/com.mycompany.Roles/com.mycompany.purch_pr/com.mycompany.purch_pr/com.mycompany.purchaseRequest
    2. https://myportal.com/irj/portal?navigationtarget=roles://portal_content/com.mycompany.Purchaising/com.mycompany.Purchase_Request/com.mycompany.Roles/com.mycompany.purch_pr/com.mycompany.purch_pr/com.mycompany.purchaseRequest&target="_blank"
    3. Set Quick link property of corresponding page and then set executionURL as: -
    https://myportal.com/irj/portal/purchaserequest
    Issue being faced: -
When user clicks on this UWL item, it opens following URL which just displays blank portal page: -
    https://myportal.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/navigate/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.mycompany.layout.PortalLayoutFolder!2fcom.mycompany.layout.DesktopFolder!2fmycompanyDesktop!2fframeworkPages!2fframeworkpage!2fcom.sap.portal.innerpage!2fcom.sap.portal.contentarea?NavigationTarget=ROLES%3A%2F%2Fportal_content%2Fcom.mycompany.Purchaising%2Fcom.mycompany.Purchase_Request%2Fcom.mycompany.iViews%2Fcom.mycompany.purchaseRequest&CurrentWindowId=WID1326775699455&NavMode=1
Any idea what is going wrong here?
I am not able to figure out what & from where its preparing above URL instead of opening the URL that I specified in Connector's executionURL attribute.
    Regards,
    Amey

Issue was with iView that I was trying to open in DEV portal.
It worked fine in TEST & PROD portals.
    Hence, NavigationTarget=<> approach works fine.

  • How to change the page layout to fit 2 portlets in a row?

    Hi,
I am very new to Plumtree portal, please be gentle.
We are in the trial and design phase for our company's portal and we are tring Plumtree now.
We selected the page layout as one narrow panel and one wide panel. In the wide panel, I have a wide portlet to fit the whole row on the top, then we want to divide to 2 columns under the first portlet as the middle section of the page, so that we can place 1 chart on left side and 1 chart on right side of the wide panel.
    HOW TO DO IT?
also, now I developed 2 testing portlets in vb.net. Top one is the wide one. The 2nd one is a chart, when I deployed it in the page, the chart overlaps the top portlet! HOW TO FIX IT?

By default you can only lay out the portlets in the assigned columns and cannot span, but you could try cheating (I don't know what the impacts of this might be, though, so be careful)
Change the layout to a 2-column that also has a content canvas (darker gray box). For your portlet you want to have span both columns, set it up as a content canvas (you may have to re-register it). I think that might work, but... honestly, I don't know enough about content canvas settings to konw what might happen down the road. I'm hoping "a portlet is a portlet is a portlet"
    Like this...
[         content canvas         ] <-- put your portlet here
    [ narrow ] [         wide         ]
It also sounds like you're using gridlayout on your .NET portlet - you'll want to change that to use flow. Grid will use absolute positioning (bad here). I'd suggest reading the .NET web consumer install / developer PDF for additional info on how to get ASP.NET portlets to work.

  • Get GUID in custom WPC page layout

I'm developing a custom WPC page layout with an embedded Visual Composer flash file. Since KMC web pages are stored in KM I can use the KM Java API to access properties on the document in KM. I want to use this technique to let users store a value at design-time and use this value to generate the code to view the VC flash file at run-time. I've managed to get everything to work except for one small detail: The only way I've been able to get a reference to the document in KM (as an IResource object) is by reading the GUID from the URL, and this is only available at design-time and when previewing the WPC web page, not at run-time when the web page is opened through portal navigation.
Does anybody know of a way to get the GUID (or any other reference) to the current KM document from a page (JSP file)? I have the page and WPC taglibs available, and of course the request object.
    Thanks,
    Terje Bjørgum

It's all in the DOCTYPE declaration that  you see in a typical HTML page.
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
SAP/WPC usually don't have this properly placed or is missing from any of the pages you create. Once you publish the page you created, view its source by right-click -> view source on the browser. You may be surprised that the DOCTYPE declaration is not there at all and the DOCTYPE declaration tells the browser how to render the page along with the CSS that you may have.

  • How do I add an portal page automatically?

I have never with Oracle Portal. I am an Ajax Developer.
I want to be able to make ajax calls to:
    1. create a page
    2. get the layout id
    3. get the region ids for a layout
Is this possible via PL/SQL built-in? I don't want to start writing server code.
Sorry we don't have a server-side developer on the team.
    -P

It depends on which type of document you started with. There are two types, word processing and page layout document's. You can the them on the left when you open File > New from Template chooser
Word processing documents will add pages automatically as you write along or add objects that are inline. You can also add by clicking on the Section icon in the tool bar. This will also add a section break in the document.
Page layout documents pages has to be added manually by either using Insert > Pages > choose from the options. Or use the Page icon in the tool bar.
To learn more about Pages 09 download the Pages User Guide from your Pages Help menu.

  • Reduce width of the entire portal page

    Hi All
I'm trying to modify the width of the entire portal page (this includes masthead, TLN, content area) from 100% to 75%. I change the width property in the used css class, but the changes are not reflected.
If I have to change the width in the jsp page, which par file should I change? I checked the light_franework.jsp in com.sap.portal.layouts.frameworktest.par, but it does not have any html tags at all. Im looking for a table which uses prtlHeaderCon as the css class.
WIll be thankful for any help.
    Thanks
    J

I am also facing same issue with my portal. I need to change the width to 99% from 100% in order to get rid of an extra scroll bar. So can you please tell me what html code you implemented in light_framework.jsp to alter the width of the table.
    Thanks,
    Harish.K.
