Portal URL's and Form Posting

When I use the following url in a form POST method, I receive a "page cannot be found" error when I click submit, but if I go directly to the page by entering the url in my browser, it works. Why is that?
http://matrix0.dynamex.com:7778/pls/portal/url/page/dxnet_jsps/cr_submit?test=1
How do I call another page in Portal through a form POST method using JSP?

Hello Angela,
you should find everything you need in :
- the pdk-java sample 'event form' (eventform.jsp and publicparam.jsp)
- the pdk articles
http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/ARTICLES/ADDING.PARAMETERS.EVENTS.TO.PORTLETS.HTML
(explained source code of the event form sample)
http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/ARTICLES/primer.portlet.parameters.events.html
(what to do in portal once your jsp-application is running)
For your jsps, you'll know how to create the events, th event's parameters, how to call the htmlFrormActionLink() method, and finally get back the params from the request.
Else, to create a link to a page, use the constructEventLink() in the EventUtils class (see API DOC deployed with JDPK on your OC4J)
Hope this helps.

  • Short URL in the Form of Text Message like SDN for Enternal Facing Portal

    Hi,
    For the External Facing Portal, We are using the Light Frame work with Light Top Level Navigation and customized it for look and feel.
    When we publish the Anonymous User role for the EFP, and navigate through the roles, The Portal URL is getting added with Short URL's (NavigationTaeget.....)
    How to make this Short URL's in the form of Text Messages like example in SDN
    After clicking the Forums the URL shown is like https://sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/forums instead of Short URL.
    We are looking for some thing same.
    Regards
    Sumanth

    Hi Sumanth,
    Short URL is automatically created by portal.
    So you cant make the short URL in the form of text message.Refer the following link

  • The portal url appears in external links in XML Forms

    Hi,
    I have created an XML Forms application that should contain a link to an external webpage.
    In the Edit view I have created 2 text fields.
    1 for the url and 1 urlname for the name of the link.
    In the Show view I have created a link (Lable)  with:
    Hyperlink property:        /DataSchema/DataModel/url
    Schema Reference:          /DataSchema/DataModel/urlName
    Style :              Function Link
    When I run the application It renders the link as a link with the urlname as the name of the link.
    Great !! ;0)
    <b>...but</b> when clicking on the link it open up a new window with the <b><b><b>portal URL</b> + the specified url:</b></b>
    E.g.
    Test data:
    Name:     Google
    URL:     http://www.google.com
    Result:
    <b>http://<portalurl>:58000/irj/portal/http://www.google.com</b>
    Why does this happen? And what can I do in order to open up the new window with just the url that I have provided (http://www.google.com)
    Thanks for any help !
    Best regards
    Rasmus

    Hi All and thanks for all help
    But..
    The thing is that it has nothing to do with the application.
    E.g. I have tested the <b>SAP_APP_FAQs</b> forms application delivered by SAP.
    This forms application has an external link called <b>Read more… </b>When I test this forms application everything is OK. It opens up the target URL in a new window e.g. <b>http://www.google.com</b>
    This is exactly what I want so I make a copy (save as) of the project. I run the application and believe it or not I got the wrong result: <b>http://<portalurl>:58000/irj/portal/http://www.google.com</b>
    I have not made any changes of the application!!
    Can any tell me what’s wrong?
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    Rasmus

  • Xml over http form post and response example

    can some one point me to http form post/get  syntax to send and receive xml...let me know

    Use the cfhttp tag. For example, suppose the xmlDoc is already defined. Then you could post the document using
    <cfhttp url="the_url" method="post">
        <cfhttpparam type="header" name="content-type" value="text/xml">
        <cfhttpparam type="header" name="content-length" value="#len(xmlDoc)#">

  • Script to open RSS feed url's and post those in the background to a webpage

    Dear everyone,
    Im trying to work on a script that should do:
    - Read My Apple mail RSS feeds every 120 seconds
    - extract a NUMBER from the links from those RSS feeds
    - then post them to a website url site.com/rss.php?id=<extracted id>
    - It should run totally in the background of my apple
    - The links should be posted in the background also without opening any browser or safari
    Is this possible?
    I have my apple now 4 months and this is my first applescript project, so its a bit too much for me, ive spend several hours investigating on how to do this can someone help me out a bit please?
    on idle
    if application "Mail" is running then
    -- read RSS feeds from apple mail
    -- Extract link ID www.site.com/?id=12345
    -- Post Id 12345 to http://site.com/rss.php?id=<the id>
    end if
    return 120
    end idle

    Read My Apple mail RSS feeds every 120 seconds
    Start by using a different RSS application.
    Mail.app doesn't provide any access to RSS feeds via AppleScript, so there is no chance of doing this with Mail.app (or, at least, no easy way to do so).
    Try something like NetNewsWire instead.
    Once you have a viable app, the first part is pretty straightfoward:
    on idle
     if application "NetNewsWire" is running then
      --extract a NUMBER from the links from those RSS feeds
      tell application "NetNewsWire" to set numLinks to total unread count
     end if
     return 120
    end if=idle
    From here, though, I don't know what you're trying to do. You say:
    then post them to a website url site.com/rss.php?id=<extracted id>
    Do you mean you want to post the number of RSS messages (since that's what you asked for earlier), or do you mean you want to re-post the RSS articles? Or do you mean you want to download the links and re-post the entire linked article?
    That's three options (and there are probably more), each of which require a different approach.

  • Use HCM processes and Forms without using the Enterprise Portal

    is it possible to leverage existing HR Admin Services (HCM processes and Forms) functionality without using the Enterprise Portal?
    1) Create an Adobe form and Interface using SFP
    2) Set up ISR and Form Scenario
    3) Set up Forms configuration to use existing Backend and generic Services
    4) Set up workflow to updated Backend using Services
    is it possible to do the above steps and not use the Portal? If Yes, how do we present the forms to the Manager, and provide different buttons that appears on the Portal by default?
    Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh

    Hi Saurabh,
    your assumptions and findings (items can not be started from the backend workflow inbox etc.) are correct: These processes can not be started without the Portal and it is not intended to do this.
    The above mentioned backend report are only forseen for implementation and testing purposes and not for productive use.
    In addition to the fact, that you already can't execute the work items a lot of other features of the framework (Process Browser etc.) are only available through the Portal.

    Once the user has entered the URL they want to add to the form. You can use the loadXML function to implement some special text in a label...
    var linkValue = "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?><exData contentType=\"text/html\" xmlns=\"http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-template/2.8/\"><body xmlns=\"http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml\" xmlns:xfa=\"http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/\" xfa:APIVersion=\"Acroform:2.7.0.0\" xfa:spec=\"2.1\"><p style=\"font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;letter-spacing:0in\">The new link the user have entered is:<a href=\"" + textfield.rawValue + "\">textfield.rawValue</a></p></body></exData>";
      this.resolveNode("lblURL").value.exData.loadXML(linkValue, 1, 1);

  • Bug in form based authorization ( url-patter /* and loginform in /*)

    Try this:
    examples\weapp\security
    default web.xml file for this webapp has url-pattern =
    <url-pattern>/admin/*</url-pattern>
    try to register this web application as default webApplication ( this can be
    done only by editing config.xml manualy - this is feature or bug ? =) )
    and change url-pattern to <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> and try to run this
    example. Weblogic falls to recursion when executing this example. Porblem is
    that access to loginform is protected by /* but in order to access resouces
    in /* i need autorization which can be performed only by using loginform
    PS: sorry for my poor english
    Regards,
    Giedrius Trumpickas

    in the web.xml, you can specify some security setting , also the the protected
    resources are grouped by url pattern, so to avoid that ,you can group the protected
    url pattern to exclude the form resource, so the form resource page don't need
    to protected. or if weblogic is really smart , they should in default to leave
    the form page or error page or welcome page unprotected.
    Hope that helps.

  • External portal capturing internal portal URL in Log and trace file

    Hi,
    We are facing one issue in portal like we have two portals for internal (Intranet) and external (Internet) users.
    Once users logged in the application and try to get the information about mylink from the external portal link (internet) they should not get any information about the internal portal.
    But in log and trace file we can see the external portal link capturing the internal portal URL.
    We need to find, from where system capturing the internal portal URL.
    Thanks.

    The tkproffed trace file is in seconds.
    "set timing" is in hh:mi:ss.uu format. So 00:00:01.01 is 1.01 seconds.
    You have to remember that most of these measurements are rounded. While your trace file says it contains one second of trace data, you know it's more.
    One excellent resource for trace files is "Optimizing Oracle Performance" by Cary Millsap & Jeff Holt. (http://www.amazon.com/Optimizing-Oracle-Performance-Cary-Millsap/dp/059600527X ) I thought I knew trace files before, but this book brings your knowledge to a whole new level.
    There is also an excellent WP by Cary Millsap ( http://method-r.com/downloads/doc_details/10-for-developers-making-friends-with-the-oracle-database-cary-millsap ) that gives you some insight.

  • Importing Reports and Forms from Oracle to Portals

    Hi,
    I have read somewhere that it is possible to import all ready created reports and forms from Oracle and view them as a Portlet in Portals. Is this actually possible and if so where do I begin??
    Could there be an issue with rights, this is all new to our DBA and we have only just got permission to publish forms created in Portals to the repository. Any ideas??

    941175
    Welcome to the forum. Please take a while to go through the FAQ to be found to the top right of the page.
    Your issue is more to do with batch files rather than Forms. The only relation with Forms, as I see it, is that you will be using HOST/CLIENT_HOST to start a batch file with the file name to be deployed as a parameter passed to it.
    You need to rewrite either a CMD batch file or a Powershell script to achieve what have set out to do.
    For CMD batch files look up http://www.robvanderwoude.com/battech.php , or any of the other excellent resources available on the internet.

  • How to pass username and password with the portal url

    i want to access portal from my web site. i have created username and password fields in my web page. when submited , my portal page should open. so how to pass username and password with the portal url.

    This is not straightforward; but it is doable.
    First tell us about your portal version; portal 10.1.4 has a slightly different method of doing it and the pre-10g portals were completely different animals.
    And if you are in AS Rel 2, then the most important document for you would probably be the following:
    [Creating Deployment Specific Pages| http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/idmanage.1012/b14078/custom.htm#i1015535]
    You might want to use it in conjunction with some metalink notes about your portal version and such a login page.
    hope that helps!

  • CF8 - Ajax Form Post and Document Type

    I'm having a problem trying to figure out how to get a form
    post to return a PDF document using CF8. I can't seem to get
    CFDOCUMENT to deliver a PDF through the form.
    I have a form inside a CFDIV...
    <cfdiv id="mydiv">
    <cfform action="myscript.cfm" method="post">
    a bunch of input fields, then...
    <input type="submit" value="Generate PDF" />
    </cfform>
    </cfdiv>
    On submit, the form makes an Ajax call sending the data to a
    script that generates a PDF using CFDOCUMENT and delivers it
    through the browser.
    However, it is not delivering the PDF. Instead, it is
    delivering the CODE for the PDF into the CFDIV and trying to
    display the code. I tried the same form delivering an Excel file
    with cfcontent and cfheader. It delivers the code instead of the
    actual document.
    If I take this form out of the CFDIV, everything works great.
    Why can't the Ajax call made by the CFDIV functionality
    deliver a PDF or other file?

    I'm having the same problems over two years later. CFCONTENT
    doesn't work as documented when you call it from within an AJAX
    app. My workarounds that call the code from another directory are
    way too kludgey for the client, but proved my standard code works
    outside of AJAX layout areas. I'm specifically trying to do what
    tSpark also mentioned, that is generate an Excel spreadsheet from
    query results displayed in an HTML table.
    Has anyone solved this problem?

  • Execute  HCM Process and Forms on Enterprise Portal ?

    Hi Experts,
    I have done a scenario on Employee Relocation Process with the reference of the  tutorial specified in help.sap.com. [Here's the link|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/fe/1bd54243063658e10000000a155106/frameset.htm] in HCM Processes and Forms
    The following are steps  which i have done so far ....! relevant to that tutorial .
    1) Created ISR Scenario
    2) Created Form Scenario
    3) Created Linkage between ISR and Form Scenarios.
    4) Checked the consistency of the Linked ISR and Form Scenarios. Everything was fine ...
    I have designed the form layout with relevant form fields that are required for the relocation process (HCM Forms)  and created a workflow template with all the required steps specified in the tutorial .
    Now my questions are as follow's:
    1) how to test the HCM process ?
    2) In which environments can I test the process ?. Can I test HCM process in Enterprise Portal if yes how  ....?
    3) In what way thus MSS and ESS are connected to HCM Process and Forms.
    I am confused about this, can you experts please explain in details ...!

    Looks like a program error to me.
    Running a system on SAP_ALL to make it work cannot be a solution, so do an ST01 trace to find out which authorization exactly is missing and what is checked before the dump, and consider adding it if appropriate.
    Cheers,
    Julius
