PORTAL30 no longer has permission to access PORTAL30.home

Hello,
I am new to programming in general and Portal in particular. For some reason the PORTAL30 user no longer has the right to log in PORTAL30.home. I have no problem logging as PORTAL30_SSO and another user I had created but these users dont have admin rights. I found postings in this site that advise using API such as (portal30_sso.wwsso_api_user_admin.create_user) but I dont know how.
I have also tried the following procedure. It compiles but I am not able to login as the new user.
declare
v_user portal30_sso.sso_user_type;
v_err VARCHAR (50);
begin
portal30_sso.wwsso_ls_private.get_default_user_config (v_user );
v_user.ssousername := 'acostanza';
v_user.hashed_password := 'venus';
v_user.ssorole := 'FULL'; -- ordinary user. Use 'FULL' for an admin.
portal30_sso.wwsso_ls_private.ls_create_user
p_newuser => v_user,
p_err => v_err
end;
Please HELP!

Can you tell if it's Time Machine that's showing that error message?  I took a look at item C5 in Time Machine Troubleshooting.  It specifically refers to Leopard (OS X 10.5), which is another confirmation that the old advice you found about that hidden file no longer applies.
yep. it's time machine. when it tries to back up and fails, a message displays about it being read-only and to go ahead and repair it or reformat it. if i go to time machine prefs and select that drive to use for backup, that's when the other message about "necessary read, write and append privileges" displays.
So you mean the Desktop icons for the mounted Time Capsule disk, etc.  The icon for the volume containing the "sparsebundle" files should have an AirPort fan, not a network volume icon with the three people.  Item B4 of Time Machine Troubleshooting mentions that, although I'm not sure the advice given there would be useful in your case.
yep. i know, but that's what's there, nonetheless.
If you launch AirPort Utility, put the Time Machine into "manual setup" mode, select the Disks panel, then the File Sharing tab, is "Enable file sharing" checked?  What is the setting for "Secure Shared Disks"?
i checked and tinkered with this part already, too. it has always been set to enable. it originally had with "time capsule password", then i tried also with "disk password". now it's back to TC password. again, everything was fine a few days ago, and i haven't touched any airport or TM settings in probably a year or more.
small update: i was able to get into the capsule's backups finally after a few more passes using disk repair, so i can see that it was happily backing up until the 1st, when i had the aforementioned problem with my laptop. i can't see this being mere coincidence, so i know i must've also damaged the permissions for the TM/TC at the same time.

  • Lack Permission to access Network Home Directory

    I upgraded OSX 10.4.8 Server to 10.4.9. I also updated the client computers to the same. The server is a Master LDAP directory which houses the users home directories. Since the upgrade when a user tried to login to their home directory they receive a dialog telling them they do not have the permissions to access the directory. They can go to any other machine in the shop and login with no problem. I have found two ways to remedy this. If we shut the affected computer down and pull the plug, when it is restarted they can login. This seems to work 80% of the time. The second remedy has been to remove the apple preferences on the client from "/Library/Preferences", "/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration", and "/Library/ Preferences/DirectoryService". Restart the machine, re-enter all of the required info, and we are off and running again. I have not been able to pin this down to a single file. I had one user that I have hit this problem with that nothing has worked.
    Before upgrading the server I backed up 10.4.8 to another internal drive. I have since returned to running off of 10.4.8 but the problem has not gone away. I have checked and double checked permissions on home directories and do not see anything wrong.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

    Changing the schema password is not the same as changing the password for the portal30 user logging on through the browser. If you wanted to change the schema password, then you also need to update the password in the DAD configuration file, which is in $IAS_HOME/Apache/modplsql/cfg/wdbsvr.app. Update the password entry for the corresponding data access descriptor (DAD).
    If your intent was to change the password for the lightweight user named portal30, then you'll first need to change back the portal30 schema password - just do it through sqlplus.
    The change the password of the lightweight user by logging in as portal30 and then change password from Account Info.

  • SCVMM 2008 R2 - "The SQL Server service account does not have permission to access Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)."

    I know this question has been asked before, but never for R2, that I can tell, and the posted fixes aren't working. I have just installed SCVMM 2008 R2 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server, using a remote SQL 2008 SP1 database. When I attempt to connect to SCVMM, I get the following error:
    "The SQL Server service account does not have permission to access Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
    Ensure that the SQL Server service is running under a domain account or a computer account that has permission to access AD DS. For more information, see "Some applications and APIs require access to authorization information on account objects" in the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=121054.
    ID: 2607"
    What I've seen online is that this is usually becuase the domain account SCVMM is running as does not have the proper permissions on the SQL database. Here's what I've confirmed:
    1) My SCVMM service account is a local admin on the SCVMM server
    2) My SCVMM service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    3) My SQL service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    4) My SQL service account is a domain user (even made it a domain admin, just in case, and it still "doesn't have access to AD DS," which is obviously untrue)
    5) Neither service account is locked out
    Has anyone run in to this? It says in Technet that remote SQL 2008 is supported, as long as the SQL management studio is installed to the SCVMM server, and I installed and patched before I began the SCVMM installation. I just don't know what else to try - I have no errors in event logs, no issues during the installation itself...
    Andrew Topp

    That answer was very unhelpful fr33m4n. The individual mentions that they've received the error that points to the KB article. I currently receive the same error -- there seems to be no resolution. I've run the Microsoft VBS script to add TAUG to the WAAG
    as suggested by 331951, and that made absolutely no difference.
    1) My SCVMM service account is a local admin on the SCVMM server
    2) My SCVMM service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    3) My SQL service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    4) My SQL service account is a domain user (even made it a domain admin, just in case, and it still
    "doesn't have access to AD DS," which is obviously untrue)
    The user is also a member of WAAG, the machines have delegated authority to each other. Is there any other solution?

  • I'm trying to setup my new iphone and the Apple ID it asks for is my friends old Apple ID that she no longer has access to. How can I fix this?

    I'm trying to setup my new iphone and the Apple ID it asks for is my friends old Apple ID that she no longer has access to. How can I fix this so I can use my new phone? The first step asks for my iCloud info but then asks for my friends after I agree to the terms.

    The iPhone is new, has never been used. When asked if I want to set it up as a new phone, restore from an iTunes backup, or my iCloud backup I selected iCloud. It then askes for me to sign in with my Apple ID, I then agree to the terms, then it asks for me to sign into my friends Apple ID. She and I have used each other's computers in the past so I assume this is where her information is coming from. The problem is she no longer had that email or Apple ID and has no way of gaining access to it and therefor I am unable to proceed.
    I suppose my question is, how can I remove her information from mine so I can setup my new phone using iCloud. Also, I have already checked my Apple ID online and nowhere on my account is her information listed.

    What pops up is the page that tells me I can use my camera to take a photo - since I don't have access to the card, useless.  I am caught going round in this loop - there's that one button, no other option.  Thanks in advance.

  • My iPhone 4 has been saying You do not have permission to access the requested resource whenever I try to watch one of the episodes I bought from iTunes. It will not let me watch them and I don't know why.

    A few days ago I bought a season of the series Psych off of iTunes. I was able to watch the first bunch without a problem but now all of a sudden when I try to watch one it says "You do not have permission to access the requested resource". I tried restarting my phone but that do not help. I cleared up a lot of space on my phone as well. I have and iPhone 4 with the update of iOS 6.1.3.

    Are you using the same Apple ID that the purchase was linked to?  I had this issue with a shared device, and the other person had logged out of my ID and logged in with hers.
    If it's the same ID, then try redownloading the purchase.

    Then use a proper backup application.
    Periodically using drag & drop isn't very reliable or complete, and backing-up your entire system is much better than just some selected data.  When your internal HD fails (they all do, sooner or later) or something else awful happens, reinstalling everything can be a very large, tedious, and error-prone process.  Among other things, 3rd-party apps will have to be reinstalled from the original discs or re-downloaded, and purchase keys or serial numbers re-entered.
    You already have Time Machine -- it's built-in to OSX, and very easy to use.  You might want to review the Time Machine Tutorial, and perhaps browse Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.
    And/or, you can use a 3rd-party "cloning" application such as SuperDuper or CarbonCopyCloner.   See Time Machine vs. Clones and Archives for an overview of the differences.

  • Script keeps asking for permission to access contacts

    I have an Applescript that I've saved as an app. I have it run automatically every night. It goes through my contacts and does some cleanup work for me.
    However, the script has started asking for permission to access my contacts on every single run. This didn't happen under 10.9... I believe it started with Yosemite. I'm on 10.10.2 now.
    Under Mavericks, if I locked the script, that solved the "ask for permission every time problem."  But that no longer seems to work.
    Any thoughts?

    If you post the script, I am sure someone will have an idea what's happening.

  • Permission based access

    I'm guessing this is a fairly common need, but I'm not sure what the proper
    way to implement it is.
    I need to enable our WL7 application to support users with custom
    permissions. I have already implemented a set of custom security providers
    that allow us to authenticate against our database. The next step is
    supporting "feature" or permission based access to various application
    components. I understand how to configure the security on weblogic
    resources, but that is not granular enough for me.
    In our system, each user is granted a set of features or functions that they
    have access to. This may be a global action, such as "Create a user" or it
    may be very specific such as "Change zip code". Our application logic needs
    to check these permissions (and either deny access or modify a menu or some
    other logic).
    My first pass at this was to get security working at the weblogic resource
    level. Then I wrote a utility class that will take a subject and check if
    it has the permission in our database. This works, but it's done outside of
    the JAAS security model and I'm trying to do this the "right" way. It seems
    to me that I need to setup a JAAS security policy and associate Permission
    objects for the features that I need to secure, but I don't know how to do
    this in the context of a weblogic application.
    What is the proper way to do this? Can someone give me some tips or point
    me towards some usefull documentation?
    Thanx,
    Matt

    I don't have any code that I can send you right now (it would take me too
    long to rip out my companies proprietary stuff), but here's the approach I
    took.
    I started from the sample providers that are available on dev2dev (
    http://dev2dev.bea.com/code/codedirect.jsp?highlight=codedirect ). From
    there, I just removed the providers that I didn't need. In the sample
    framework, there are a set of database classes that implement the user
    storage. In the samples, the users are stored in a properties file on the
    disk. I just replaced the code in those files with the appropriate database
    lookups in my environment.
    Couple things that took me time to work through:
    1. You must create a user that is in the Admin group for the server to start
    under. I was not successfull in separating the authentication mechanism for
    the server id and the users.
    2. You cannot use the weblogic datasources or connection pools to access
    your database. Since the server id is authenticating against your custom
    provider, the datasources and pools have not yet been created.
    3. I had trouble configuring my realm using the console. There seemed to be
    an intermittent bug that kept my realm information from being persisted into
    the security store. I exported the security realm configuration into an xml
    file, modified the xml file to exactly what I wanted, and loaded it back
    into the server. The process for doing this is available in the docs (
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/admin_domain/failures.html#1106023 ).
    I would love a workaround for 1 and 2, but so far I haven't found one.
    Good luck!
