Porting from Processing IDE to Eclipse

Hi all,
I am porting a little project I did in Processing PDE (www.processing.org) into Eclipse because I want to use full Java functionalities. For those who dont know Processing is a Java based language...pratically speaking it consists of libraries to build 2D/3D interactive graphics and animations.
The processing.core package contains all processing classes, and I 've imported and built it within my Eclipse project. The PApplet class is the one that contains most of functionalities of Processing. Here is a link with documentation http://processing.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/processing/build/javadoc/core/index.html .
Now in the Processing PDE when I create multiple classes, they are all treated as "inner classes," meaning they are not individual entities unto themselves, but rather are classes inside of the larger PApplet. This is causing lot of confusion for me now and I don't know how to treat and link all classes together.
It would br great if someone could have a look and explain me how to correct all errors I get. This is the project file with all classes and libraries http://www.designedbyenergy.com/site/myproject.zip
In addition, one thing that is not clear to me is to make a global variable accessible to all classes within the Project. Where do I declare global variables? How can I access them from all classes?
thanks

Where do I declare global variables?You should probably hit the Java tutorials and try to get rid of all the misconceptions you've gotten from this Processing thing.
Also nobody will go through your project and fix your problems. Unless you're willing to pay.

  • Problem when using weblogic.jspc from an IDE

    I am trying to call JSPC from an IDE (as part of an Eclipse Builder). To optimize performance I want to avoid to spwan a new process. So I am trying to call weblogic.jspc's main method directly from the IDE. Everything works fine for simple simple pages.
              But when the page refers to a tag library with a tag providing a TagExtraInfo class, weblogic.jspc complains about the class not extending the TagExtraInfo base class although it does:
              Errors encountered while compiling 'D:\vrp-localdeploy\applications\wot\WOT' :
              Translation of /rentalcar/tiles/i18n/CarCapacityView.jsp failed: (line 17): Error in using tag library uri='/tags/i18n' prefix='i18n': For tag 'bundle', extra info class 'org.apache.taglibs.i18n.BundleTEI' does not extend javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagExtraInfo
              I could not figure out what exactly causes the problem. Using exactly the same settings workes just fine.
              Any suggestions?

              <p>
              Unfortunately it doesn't really give any real reason - it is a general piece of code in jspc to report problems.
              <p>
              But I dug a lot bit deeper into the code and realized that the original problem is a ClassCastException in line 1290 of class StandardTagLib, which reads as follows:
              <p>
                   tagextrainfo = (TagExtraInfo)Beans.instantiate(classloader, s3);
              <p>
              This looks quite obvious that the class named by s3 simply is no extension of TagExtraInfo, but unfortunately the only class with that name being referenced by the class path does extend this class. I wondered what the problem might be and came up with the following answer:
              <p>
              The class of the bean instantiated by Beans.instantiate extends a class with the name "javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagExtraInfo" which is cast to another class with exactly <b>the same name, but a different class loader</b>. Since neither of the class loaders is parent of the other one, both classes are not considered being the same class although they have the same name. Sounds weird, but exactly this is the problem!
              <p>
              Where does it come from and why it works fine when the tool is executed in a separate thread or on the console?
              <p>
              From my understanding the problem is caused in line 395 of the class weblogic.jspc:
              <p>
                   GenericClassLoader genericclassloader = new GenericClassLoader(classpathclassfinder);
              <p>
              This line of code creates a class loader not knowing a parent class loader by which the class weblogic.jspc was loaded. All classes weblogic.jspc is using or calling will be loader by either the same or a parent class loader - this is important to understand. Since TagExtraInfo is directly referenced by StandardTagLib one instance of the class object (the object of type class) will be generated and linked when the class StandardTagLib is instantiated for the first time by the class loader which loaded weblogic.jspc (or by its parent). This is consequence which can not be avoided.
              <p>
              But now look at line 1290 of class StandardTagLib: It explicitly requests the class to be loaded by the GenericClassLoader instantiated in line 395 of the class weblogic.jspc. This class loader, off course, is not aware of the same class just being loaded by another class loader since it has no knowledge of it. It simply creates a fresh copy of the class object, which only differs in the reference to the class loader which created this class object.
              <p>
              Actually, I figured that the following line of code replacing the upper one, would resolve the problem:
              <p>
              GenericClassLoader genericclassloader = new GenericClassLoader(classpathclassfinder, this.getClass().getClassLoader());
              <p>
              Doing this, the GenericClassLoader would know its logical parent by reference and would implicitly - thanks to the implementation of java.lang.ClassLoader - try to find the class using its parent first, would find a valid class, and hence use the same instance of the class object instantiated by the parent class loader. The problem would be solved.
              <p>
              It works fine in the console or under a running application server, because they will always have the weblogic jar in their system class path. ClassLoaders not having a parent are implied to have the system class loader as their parent - the piece of code does work in this case.
              <p>
              Under Eclipse this is no option, off course. We would restrain us to exactly this version of the APIs used by the weblogic version in the system class path.
              <p>
              I was trying to patch this myself by extending weblogic.jspc by my own class to pass on a proper class loader knowing its parent, and I was sort of successful: The problem disappeared. But I can't gain exactly what I am looking for, because the method runJspc with four parameters (around line 447) of weblogic.jspc is private to the class and its public brother always passes true to this method as the fourth parameter - causing jspc to recompile all JSPs instead of just the requested ones.
              <p>
              Everything refers to WL81SP3.
              <p>
              That's were I got stuck currently. I have read some postings about this problem in the internet - some dating far back into the history. So, I have the impression that there have been some folks around with the same problem. I think the patch I suggested does not any harm and I could simply use jspc in my builder without any problems.
              <p>

    I'm an undergraduate student in software engineering. I worked with EE and tried to built a EJB Application. It worked. But when i connected it to database using persistence it getting error as mentioned.
    When i change my source Binary Format to jdk6 it runs without errors. What can i do for this without downgrading jdk version?

    I resolved my problem. The issue was the version of EclipseLink that I had specified in my pom.xml. Version 2.0.1 has an issue with the meta-model generation and, in fact, I wanted to be using version 2.1.1. Once I changed to 2.1.1 everything compiled correctly.
    Just make certain that you include the correct EclipseLink repository.

  • Changing SSH default port from 22 to 8080

    Hi all,
    I have deployed SSH on my home solaris 10 x86 machine and it was working fine through the default port 23.
    But the problem is that i can't connect to it from work as the firewall blocks outgoing SSH traffic. So i want to change the default port from 23 to 8080.
    i changed the value of Port in /etc/ssh/sshd_config.
    Then i ran the command
    /usr/lib/ssh/sshd -f /etc/ssh/sshd_config
    because as far as i know from the man pages it will cause the daemon to reread the configuration file thus the new value for port but still it didnt' work.
    Also i tried the command
    /usr/lib/ssh/sshd -p 8080
    but didn't work also
    I tried to restart the ssh daemon after both commands but still the same result.
    Would anyone please help me with this issue as i still don't have much experience in solaris.
    Thanks in advance.

    Ok, So i installed lsof, but
    When i ran that command i got this output
    bash-3.00# lsof -M | grep 8080
    sshd 1085 root 3u IPv6 0xd43e21c0 0t0 TCP *:8080 (LISTEN)
    it seems that sshd is occupying port 8080 but still ican't login from a remote machine.
    When i try it asks me to enter the username and then displays a messaing "Using keyboard-interactive authentication" then asks for password, When i enter the password it gives me "Access denied" although iam sure this is the right password.
    When i try to connect to port 22 things go fine and i can login with the same user "root" with no problems (i know accessing remotely using root is not secure but that is not the problem for the moment)
    So i did that
    ps -ef | grep ssh
    root 1085 1 0 19:05:07 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/ssh/sshd
    root 1093 1 1 19:05:51 ? 0:00 /usr/local/sbin/sshd
    Note that the PID for the process grabbing the port is the same for /usr/lib/ssh/sshd
    so is that the ssh daemon or is it /usr/local/sbin/sshd ????
    Please advise. Note that iam not experienced in solaris so please take it easy with me.
    Thanks

    Debuger,
    It does not matter which WLS version I am using (although I'm using 10.3, the one that comes with JDev 11g).
    The problem is that SOME OTHER PROCESS on your machine is listening on port 80. Guess you need to go to the Microsoft forums to find out how you can tell what that OTHER, NOT WLS process is.

  • FTP Port from 21 to 211

    Greetings,
    I have an:
    Xserve
    2x 2GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    2GB 667 MHz FB-DIMM
    Trying to reconfigure the FTP port from 21 to 211 (or any other, except 21).
    How do I tell the Xserve to listen for that particular port for FTP instead of 21?
    I already forwarded the port 211 to the IP address assigned to the Xserve.
    Thank you.

    First let me preface this by saying I think this is a really bad idea.
    There are two common reasons for using non-standard ports for services. One is to circumvent network filters (such as those imposed by an ISP), the other is to hide the fact you're running a particular server.
    In the former, there are usually easier ways to overcome that, for example, port forwarding at the router, tunneling over SSH or a VPN, or using a different protocol SFTP, for example.
    In the latter you're largely wasting your time since any serious hacker isn't trying any particular port to get into your machine, they run a port scan and analyze whatever responds. Any worthy hacker (is that a legitimate term? ) will know almost immediately what kind of service is running on any given port.
    In addition to all of that, FTP is a major PITA due to its use of multiple ports. While you may use port x for the FTP control connection, you typically use port x-1 for the data connection, meaning you need to open port 210 as well as 211.
    Then comes the future. Running non-standard ports requires that you remember the changes and re-apply them after any future updates - Apple have a habit of updating files they don't expect users to change and you may find that FTP reverts to a standard port without you realizing.
    That said, FTP's main control file is /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist.
    In there you'll find the part that tells FTP which network ports to listen to:
    <key>Sockets</key>
     <dict>
      <key>Listeners</key>
      <dict>
       <key>SockServiceName</key>
       <string>ftp</string>
       <key>Bonjour</key>
       <true/>
      </dict>
     </dict>
    The SockServiceName is the relevant part - in this case it tells the daemon to listen on the 'ftp' port.
    At this point you have two options - either tell it to use a different port, or redefine what 'ftp' relates to.
    In the first option, I think (but haven't confirmed) you can just change the <string>ftp</string> with an alternate port number, e.g.:
       <key>SockServiceName</key>
       <string>211</string>
    The other option is to edit the file /etc/services (which is where the daemon looks up the port names) and redefine the ftp port number:
    ftp 21/udp # File Transfer [Control]
    ftp 21/tcp # File Transfer [Control]
    Change both these numbers to 22. You may also need to change the 'ftp-data' ports listed immediately above in the file.
    As mentioned before, whichever option you choose (.plist or /etc/services) you should be prepared to re-apply the change if Apple overwrites them.
    If you're running a firewall you will also need to edit your firewall rules to match the new port numbers.

  • Partial reversal of a goods receipt from process order

    Dear All
    Could anyone please help me with explaining how to do a partial reversal of a goods receipt from process order? If Iu2019m using trans CORS I have to cancel the entire operation, which I donu2019t want to do. If Iu2019m using MIGO and MT 102 I only reverse the goods receipts of the produced material, the corresponding components from the BoM is not reversed with MT 262 as they are if I cancel with CORS, and I donu2019t want to do a second MIGO transaction in which I cancel the components with MT 261. I have also tried to create an operation with a negative quantity, but without any success.
    Itu2019s not an option for the business to reverse the entire quantity and then perform a new goods receipt with the right quantity.

    Hi again,
    I have been trying to do the reversal with CORR but Iu2019m getting the error message u201CMixed confirmation types (time ticket/time event) are not allowedu201D, message number RU179.

    If I already have the android SDK and AVD installed from prior installation for eclipse do I have to do it again for dreamweaver if I want to develop for android ?
    Also, if I'm developing for android, ipad, and iphone and I want them all to be the same can I do it by only making one site or I have to make a different site location for each?

    Inquire of whom?  Apple?  Seems to me your carrier is giving you the run-around.  They are the ones who provide the service, so they should be able to tell you the plan specifics.  Get on the phone again with them and insist on an answer.

    Well, have you tried the obvious to add the following permission to your web server's policy file?
    grant "file:<wherever my servlet resides>\myservlet.jar" {
    permission java.io.FilePermission "c:\j2sdk1.4.1\jre\lib\javax.comm.properties", "write,delete";
