Portions of Touchscreen not responding on 320 All-in-One

I know there are a ton of general touchscreen inquiries on this forum, but the regular troubleshooting hasn't worked for this problem:
We're using a TouchSmart 320 as a register for a business, and it seems like the portions of the screen touched the most (the most common buttons on the register program) are starting to become unresponsive. The current quick-fix is to resize the program window to use other portions of the screen, but I was wondering if there might be a better solution out there.
Does this suggest underlying damage to the screen/touch sensor? I couldn't find any specifics on how the touchscreen opporated.  Any insight is much appreciated - thanks for you time!

Hi @jmoorm2 ,
I have sent you issue to be escalated and do check your private message when a HP employee reaches out to you.

  • Update server not responding photosmart 410 all-in-one

    Hi all,
I'm new to blogging and not too computer savvy so patience please. This problem looks like it's been posted before but I'm not sure how to apply it to me.  I have a 410a printer connected to a minimac running OSx 10.10 (yosemite?). I am trying to update software to prevent duplicates printing after turning off the computer. When I go through the procedure to run update the printer screen says it had a problem connecting to the server.
I tried the printer IP address in Safari and Firefox but both say server is not responding. Is the server down, or is a problem with my setup?
    Help - and thanks
    This question was solved.

    Hello HevnLgh,
Thank you for your input. I tried to follow your instructions but had trouble right from the start. I got to HP uninstaller and clicked continue but there was no printer listed. It just said "device" and uninstall was greyed out. I decided to just continue so I reset the printing system and repaired the  disk permissions.
It took me a couple of tries to reinstall the printer from the Apple website because at first it couldn't find the device to add so I tried using the IP address on the next tab and that seemed to do something but it still wouldn't print. The printer was found after I  went back and tried again and everything seemed to work this time (whew).
I tried the update procedure on the printer itself and it still can't connect with the server, but the original problem with the duplicate copy on shut down seems to have resolved itself.
The bottom line is my printer is working like it's supposed to (for now anyway)  and I didn't get two copies of my printout so thank you again for your help.  It's good to know I can go somewhere for help when I have a problem.

  • My wireless keyboard and mouse do not work on my All-In-One computer?

Q.: My wireless keyboard and mouse do not work on my All-In-One computer?
A.: If your wireless keyboard and mouse do not work even after changing the batteries, please try re-syncing them by following these steps.
    1. Make sure the computer is on, plug in the USB receiver. Push the button on the USB receiver until it flashes blue.
    2. While the receiver is still flashing, press the red connect button on the keyboard (Make sure the batteries are installed). The USB receiver should stop flashing after pressing the button on the keyboard. It may take up to 8 seconds to sync.
    3. Repeat the same process for the mouse. Push the button on the USB receiver, then press the connect button on the mouse (Make sure the mouse is on).
Note: This applies to all MSI All-In-One computers that include the ES500W wireless keyboard and SW130 mouse.

"This machine has an added 4 USB ports, could this be causing a problem?
It definitely could be the source of the problem. Perhaps the PCI card was bumped loose during shipping?
Have you tried removing the card? That's where I would start.
    Keep us posted.

  • "Firefox is already running but not responding" - have tried all the usual solutions.

The message I'm getting is the standard: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding." I'm using a PC with Windows 7.
    I've tried:
    - Opening task manager and manually ending the process. This didn't work because the process is not listed in applications, processes, or services.
    - Deleting the parent/lock file. This didn't work because the file is not in any of the firefox folders. I've checked APPDATA/Local/Firefox as well as APPDATA/Roaming/Firefox, and the original install folder just to be thorough. It's not a hidden file either - I have those set to display.
    - Creating a new profile and importing settings from the old one. I can't import settings because the old profile is still running.
    - Restarting before and after each of these potential solutions, including restarting in safe mode, shutting off the computer and waiting a bit before restarting, etc.
All I really want back are my bookmarks, which I've spent quite a while creating. Unfortunately, there is no file I can find for the default profile that has the bookmarks stored. When I created a new profile, a folder appeared with its name in the APPDATA/Roaming/Firefox folder, with all of the bookmarks, etc. There is no such folder for the default profile though - which is the one I want. I've even tried switching to Chrome and importing bookmarks, but that doesn't work because the bookmarks can't be imported while Firefox is still running.

    Does a new profile work?<br />
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows
If there is no profile present then you also get that error about "Firefox is already running but not responding"
If you uninstalled Firefox at any time in the past and removed your personal data or deleted that profile folder yourself then you no longer have a profile to start with or restore files from.

  • IWeb not responding - have tried all suggestions in this section

I have 4 websites stored in iWeb o9 on a brand new MacBook Pro running all current software and updates. I publish via ftp directly to my domains. I am a Mobile Me user but I do not use this for websites. I do not have the actual files on my desktop. They are embedded in iWeb I am assuming.
Yesterday I went to open iWeb to work on a website and the program would not open. I get a 'not responding' error when I 'option-command-escape' after a lengthy period of time lapsing with no response.
I spent all day yesterday and the better part of this morning following all advice found here. Still nothing.
If i reinstall iWeb 09 from the disk that came with computer, will that erase all my sites? I have copied the 'Domain' file to my desktop just in case and have backed up using Time Machine.
If re installation does indeed wipe it clean, how then should I replace the sites/files?
    TIA
    Lynn

  • Trial Version of elements 13 running on latest IMac 27 inch.  Move the mouse and it is time out.  Doesn't matter where on the window the mouse is. The program does not respond quickly at all. Takes ages to do anything with it.  Any suggestions?

I am running a trial version of Elements 13 on the latest IMac 27 inch.  Any move of the mouse and it is time out.  Doesn't matter if the mouse is trying to do an edit or just moving across the window.  The program does not respond very well at all.  I am wondering now if I should bother purchasing the program.

How much ram do you have? Did you recently import a bunch of photos into the organizer? PSE will be slow till it's through cataloguing them, which can take some time for large number of images.

  • Messages not responding; Eating up all of my RAM

I'm having a problem with Messages on my Macbook Pro '10. When I pick up my computer after it's been closed for a while, it becomes very sluggish. I looked at my Activity Monitor and noticed that Messages was not responding and was using over 3 gigs of my ram. After I force quit Messages things return to normal. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to fix it?

Read this whole message before doing anything.
    Back up all data.
    Quit Messages if it’s running.
    Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
    Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following items from the Library folder (either may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.Messages
    Caches/com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent
Leave the Library folder open. Log out and log back in. Try Messages again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
    Step 2
If you still have problems, quit Messages again. Go back to the Finder and move the following item from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
    Messages
Note: you are not moving the Messages application. You’re moving a folder named “Messages.”
Test. If Messages now works, delete the Messages folder on the Desktop. Otherwise, quit Messages again. Put back the folder you moved, overwriting the newer one that may have been created in its place, and continue.
    Step 3
In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with "com.apple.iChat". There should also be one with the name "com.apple.imagent.plist". Move them all to the Desktop.
Also in the Preferences folder, there's a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.
Log out and log back in. Test again. This time Messages should perform normally, but your settings will be lost. You may be able to put back some of the "com.apple.iChat" files you moved to the Desktop in this step. Relaunch and test after each one. Eventually you should find one or more that causes Messages to malfunction. Delete those files and recreate whatever settings they contained. Don't put back the "com.apple.imagent.plist" file.
If the issue is still not resolved, quit Messages again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were. You don’t need to replace the files you deleted in step 1. Stop here and post again.
If you later decide that you don’t like the results of steps 2 and 3, you can undo them completely by quitting Messages and restoring the items you deleted in those steps from your backup.

  • Sine the most recent update, firefox "not responding" is happening all the time. What is going on ... please help!!!

Firefox had been "not responding" for the last few months. After a short time, it would respond.
Lately, however, it is "not responding" and my entire computer needs to be restarted.
Please help -- I am extremely frustrated.

Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:
    * [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]]
Check and tell if its working.
May not be related to your problem but some of your Firefox Plugins are out-dated

  • Why ichat says am not responding when i'm the one who's inviting a chat?

my brother-in-law and i used to ichat. we downloaded "iglasses" and still there's no problem until there was this time all of a sudden(?) we can't connect. whenever each one of us invites the other, there is a funny (?) remark why we are not connecting - one who invites is not responding???? we send the details to apple....very long descriptions of error...
the funny thing is whenever somebody invites both of us in a videoconference we are able to connect.
he trashed the "iglasses" and upon the instructions of the apple rep, he reinstall all software including ichat...on my end, i trashed the "iglasses" (by simply dragging the application folder to trash and empty?) BUT i am very reluctant to re-install all software...i have some important updates etc....that i'm not sure i'm willing to risk to revert to my original factory set-up..
will opening up ports as what apple has instructed "configure your network" helps?
    would appreciate help. thanks.

    Yeah, I feel your pain.
I've learned that the "failed to respond" message is
actually cryptic computer geek speak for "Sir, one or
more of the ports the computer needs for iChatAV
communication is not open or unavailable".
There is handshaking going on behind the scenes
between the two computers, and the computers use
certain ports between the modems to carry on this
conversation. As one or both of the computers use
these ports a "failed to repsond" message will appear
if one of these handshakes fails.
Do you ever see "Error -8" as an error message? If
so, that would confirm the port issue.
You may want to contac RJinWI on this forum for more
    help.
thanks for your help. truly appreciate the advice...
i did actually read on the details of the error---those long jargon which for me is very "scary". i think i read on one of those lines error 8 (?). anyway, i did try to open "configure one's network" and now, am faced with numbers of ports to open for choices between configurations A and B...ports for incoming or outgoing packets...ports like TCP or UDP...concerns like making mac osx firewall active but not being able to send huge files versus opening all ports but be vulnerable...which numbers i would type in the ports...so on and so forth ...so decided to join this discussion....
I read on one of those emails exchange in this forum by RJinWI about similar problem -- -"not being able to connect thru ichat"...i guess will need to contact him/her as you have advised. thanks again.

  • Second user on 10.6.6 not responding correctly on all applications

I have a macbook pro, i7, 4GB RAM with two user accounts, both administrators.
While my account works completely fine, when we log on to my wife's account, either by swithing users or by its own, it is not responding well.
You open an application, let's say safari. It works fine for the first seconds an then, it sticks with the circular rainbow cursor and doesn't respond.
I kill the task, start anotherone, let's say angry birds, it loads the first streens and then, STUCKS again....
It starts responding if I press the volune buttons (???) but then it stops again.
The fact is that it is always responding if i press volume buttons, but it always sticks
The other user is just fine....
I tried recreating the user (deleted thorougly and then created again) but again the same problem
    Any advice???

Create a new admin user account, log into it, and see if the program runs w/o errors. If so, then you can proceed in two ways. One is to log into your new account, make a list of the preference files (plists) located in /username/Library/Preferences/, including any in the ByHost subfolder, log back into the original account that's having the issue, move everything on that other account's list from the original account's Preferences folder into a newly created folder on the Desktop, log out and back in, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can copy the ones in the Desktop folder (one at time) back into /Preferences/, restart, and see if the problem returns. If so, you've identified the corrupt/conflicting one. Continue with all of them until isolating the bad ones. That'll save you the trouble of resetting preferences.
The second way is much more detailed and I'll not burden you with the steps unless the above doesn't fix the issue.

  • PDFs will not print on HP All-In-One C309a

PDF files and only PDF files will not print on my HP Photosmart Premium All-In-One C309a. I can not print PDFs that are online or that are on my hard-drive. I sometimes use the 'print to XPS file utility' and then open and print the XPS file with no problem.
When I try to print a PDF file, the printer makes all the noises it makes when printing normally, but does not print. The viewing winding says "Now Printing", a piece of paper cues up, the audio cue plays meaning job completed and eventually a blank piece of paper comes out.
I am using Windows XP with Service Pack 3.

Is your printer still in warranty? You can check with HP's warranty tool here.
The printheads in the Photosmart 6510 are not removable.  I will ask to have an HP support agent to look in on this thread, they may be able to suggest some further troubleshooting.

  • DO NOT BUY HP LASERJET ALL IN ONE PRINTERS

just sent the following letter to the CEO as a final attempt. Dont know what else to do
    Dear Mr Hurd,
I hope you will read through my email as I am a very frustrated hp customer. I bought a HP laserject 1522nf printer a few months ago it worked fine for couple of months and  i have been experiencing a great deal of problem with this printer. I have been given a run around by your support staff for past so many days that I finally decided to escalate the matter and address it to you. Each one of them told me that they will escalate to next level and no one has been able to give me a clear answer.
i do not want to waste your time by explaining my entire set of issues i am having with your support staff but i thouht before i file a formal complaint in consumer court i should make a last attempt.
Following are the list of people i have spoken to in your support staff and the issue with my printer has still not been resolved.
     1) Chris
    2) Navarro, Oscar (IPG-CR AIO Supervisor)
    3) Saenz, Jorge Antonio
    4) K B, Vinod (SSOC)
    5) Praveen Girhotra
    6) Shirley in customer service.
Today 05/13/09 after speaking to  Praveen Girhotra <text deleted> I asked them to send me a formal email explaining that they could not resolve my issue and i had to hear a long lecture from him as to how the warranty process works and i do not have any other choice but to spend time with your support staff as long as they want.
I bought this printer for printing documents not sit with your support staff wasting my time. I am sure i am not even a drop in an ocean of customers you have and my business does not even matter to hp and I hope that asking you for help in this issue will make some difference in getting my printer work

  • New router not connecting to C7280 All-In-One Printer

I just had to install a new router. Now the printer which has an ethernet cable is not working. I need to change the IP Address manually (I think).  Please walk me through the process.

In this link (message 4) I describe step-by-step instructions on how to setup a static IP but you may just want to go into the menu of the printer and restore network defaults first and see if will automatically connect after that.  You may also have to use a USB cord (some models differ in their setup process).
Let me know if that works or not.  Good luck!
