Portlet Customization Link/Oracle Logo

I have applied one of the standard templates to my forms,
reports, etc. but when I publish the report as a portlet and
allow users to access 'Customize' link they get the Oracle Logo
displayed on the banner instead of the graphic used elsewhere.
How can I change it?

Tom, I had the same problem as this, I don't think currently (up to Portal 3.0.9) you have any control over the
appearance of the customize form, but one thing you can do is replace the Oracle logo with one of your own.
The file is called logo.gif (245 X 70 pixels) and is stored in the images directory on your Portal server.

  • Repost:Edit Folder link/Portlet Customize link

    All,
    apologies if this has been asked already.
    Need to hide the customize link in Portlet and edit folder link in folder/content area. Better yet, would like to give selective access to these, based on user group (or other acl). I am on 3.0.7. Currently, hiding the header (or banner) is the only way of not showing these links. Do later versions have the same problem ? or has this issue been resolved.
    Thanks
    Sanjay

    I had similar problem in 3.0.9
    I agree with Karthic that looks like a caching problem.
    In the folder portlet, I enabled the Edit option. If a user originally had the privileges to do edit folder, then the folder shows the Edit option.
    If later I remove the privileges so that the user only have view content privileges,
    then the Edit option still shows up in the folder portlet and if the user clicks on the "Edit"link, then a message like insufficient privileges error comes up.
    FYI i don't use any caching for pages.
    Karthic,
    have you heard of this problem in 3.0.9?
    Tks!

  • Customizing Oracle Logo in MDM 2.0.1

    In MDM 2.0.1, I'm trying to customize the Oracle logo, as per the instructions mentioned in the Installation Document :
    I. Place your <Custom_Logo_File>.gif in $SPLEBASE/etc/conf/root/cm
    II. Create an External Navigation Key :
    1.Open the browser with url : http://<hostname>:<port>/cis.jsp?utilities=true&tools=true+
    2.Then, go to AdminMenu-->N-->NavigationKey+
    3.Create an External Navigation Key with url : http://<hostname>:<port>/ouaf/cm/<Custom_Logo_File>.gif+
    It didn't work from these above steps., please help me in this regards..

    Hi Suraj,
    I would prefer to discuss the problems in the forum. There are maybe other that have the same problem and they could then participate from the discussion.
    No back to your problem:
    As fare as I know there is no build in function to read directly from file system.
    MPL is no longer supported in this product and this was the only module for reading the file system.
    You have to develop an application to fetch the files form the file system or you must use an Enterprise Service Bus
    like OSB or ServiceMix.
    To enable the system for the IMD import you have to publish a Business Object or Script via XAI Inbound service.
    The recommended way is to use the D1-IMDSeeder BO.
    There is a chapter in the MDM Configuration Guide, explaining how to setup the XAI Inbound service.
    There is also a service script available. The advantage of the service script is, that you can import IMDs for more than on device (D1-IMDEvtUpl and DM-IMDEvtUpl). The DM-IMDEvtUpl is eventually only in the demo database available.
    The disadvantage of the IMDSeeder is, that you have to setup a lot of configurations in the system. There is another thread in the forum explaining the setup.
    My preferred way is to use the D1-InitialLoadIMDScalar or D1-InitialLoadIMDInterval BO but you have to do a lot of things by your own.

  • 3.09 customize link

    In 3.09 the folder portlet customize link can be removed...Great.
    My question is regarding the customize link on the html portlet. Is the same functionality available for removal of the link in an html portlet?

    Hi,
    I put the navbar as a portlet on a page. I didn't see how I
    can edit the page region to unmark the "Show portlet Headers"
    option. And even if I can, I only want the "Customize Link" not
    show up, but I want the title of the navbar to show up.
    Any idea?
    Thanks;

    Hi, I'm not sure if I understand your question...
    Do you show your navbar as a portlet on a page? then If you
    unmark the "Show Portlet Headers" option by editing the page
    region, the customization link will not show up.
    /Malin
    Hi,
    In 3.09 the folder portlet customize link can be removed.
    Can this be done on a navigation bar? Currently, I don't see any
    option of doing that? Is there any workaround for that?
    Any idea is highly appreciated!
    Thanks;
    Kelly.

  • Removing customization link from portlet header.

    Hi,
    Could u suggest me out of the 2 ways to remove customization link from portlet header.I am using the default stock prices portlet in my page.
    Where and how should i change the provider.xml file.
    If not this how can I setShowEdit(False) which is one of the methods in MutablePortlet interface.How can i find this code related to Stock portlet.I mean where can we have access this code where the provider API's are used for some of the readymade portlets that oracle provides.
    I am using release 1 of oracle portal.
    Thanx
    Vipul

    Hi,
    I see two things that you could try :
    first try to set the security level at the portlet level, then allow users to display your portlet, not to customize it. I know it's possible with tabs, maybe it can apply to you.
    Else you also can modify the package of your portlet (or the provider.xml file if it's not the package). You should read the pl/sql code and find the variable concerning the customization link in the rendering part. It may be set to 'tru', just set it to 'false' and recompile.
    I've done it when installing some portlets and it works : that way I could translate the portlet in franch, remove the help link, remove the detail link, and so on...
    Hope this helps,
    Gael.

  • Need Portlets without Customize link in page

    hi Oracles,
    We have created set of Portlets which contains Forms and components.
    now, when we publish pages which contain portlets to the pubic users,it shows the
    Customize link in each portlet header area.
    we must disable or remove it.
    it is an urgent for us
    thanks for hearing us.
    regards,

    I have previously suggested a work around.
    - create a new application
    - Create/move your forms/reports in this application
    - Grant View privledge to Authenticated_users group
    You should be all set. Any forms/reports etc created in this application would not have customize on the Portlet title.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to hide default Oracle logo etc.?

    I have a 'Chart' which requires 2 parameters. The Chart is exposed as a Portlet. When I click on 'Customize' link, then I get the screen with the Oracle and other images. How can I make this screen look different? To what extent can we customize it?
    Your answers are appreciated.

    You can hide the logo by changing the logo to an empty picture.

    Hi,
    In PDF, there are three ways of using a Graphic -
    1.     through context – using graphic reference
    2.     through context – using content
    3.     In layout – by copy and paste.
    &#61607;     Graphic content can be added to the form by adding the graphics in the transaction SE78 (also using the programme – ‘RSTXLDMC’). You store that in a variable and have that variable here.
    Graphics can also be uploaded through MIME repository.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Render custom Customize Link in JPDK V2

    Hi
    I need to render my own 'Customize' link, that will invoke my EditDefaults JSP, using JPDK V2 (JSP portlet). Could someone please help. I could not find an API call that would do that.
    Regards
    Harry

    Hi
    I am not sure I asked my question clear enough.
    I need to render this:
    <font class="PortletHeaderLink">Customize</font>
    I.e. the customize link, but not inside the portlet header.
    Do I need to do this:
    out.println(iframe.getResource(pr, iFRAME_MESSAGES, "CUSTOMIZE"));
    If so, I am not sure how to build up the following for my jsp. (It's just a JSP using the default renderer)
    String RESOURCE_PATH = "oracle.pdk.utils.iframe.";
    String iFRAME = RESOURCE_PATH + "iFrame";
    String iFRAME_MESSAGES = RESOURCE_PATH + "iFrameMessageBundle";
    Thanx
    Harry
    Please find an article "Adding Customization to Java Portlets" and "Adding Extra Render Modes to
    Java Portlets" in PDK.zip explains to render Edit and Edit Defaults Also Developer Services iframe portlets uses JSP to add customize mode
    using JSP.

  • Skin Customization in Oracle Identity Manager 11g Release 2 (11.1.2)

    I was recently tasked with branding an OIM instance to match pretty stringent branding standards. To accomplish this task, I extended the fusion theme which is provided out of the box into a new custom skin. In the example below, I took the design as far as I could, which required decently advanced css knowledge; however, even a novice web designer could easily make simple updates to the backgrounds and fonts which would also greatly enhance the user experience.
    Utilizing FireBug for Firefox, I inspected elements of the OIM interface to see which div's I needed to modify in the css file. You can edit as little or as many elements as you'd like in your custom skin; however, I'd recommend preserving the primary elements original placements to avoid confusion for users that are already used to an out of the box version of OIM.
    This is the Oracle doc I used when creating the custom skin: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/dev.1112/e27150/uicust.htm#BABJIJIA
    Notes regarding the Oracle tutorial mentioned above:
    Be sure and remove the temp directory, shut down your OIM server, upload your files, then restart your OIM server with each css modification.
    30.3.1 - Configuring Skins: 1. After you create the skin in the trinidad-skins.xml file, make a copy of the trinidad-skins.xml from the /iam-consoles-faces.war/WEB-INF/ directory to the
    oracle.iam.console.identity.sysadmin.ear/WEB-INF/ directory AND the
    oracle.iam.console.identity.self-service.ear/WEB-INF directory.
