Ports to be unblocked.

I need to provide access to certain machine ips(source) to access other ips(destination) of different classess for the ports mentioned 22, 21, 80 , 3389, 3000, 443,8080, 8443 , 8000-65535 in my corporate firewall. Can you please give me the commands to be executed ?

Hi Ravi,
Lets assume your inside interface name is " inside" and outside interface name is " outside ".
Here you need to permit traffic from your destination IPs to your source IPs also open these ports for that communication.
First create a opbject group for ports
object-group service EXTERNAL_TO_INTERNAL tcp
description EXTERNAL TO INTERNAL
port-object eq 22
port-object eq 21
port-object eq 3389
port-object eq 3000
port-object eq 8443
port-object range 8000 65535
2. Create a object group for the destination IPs
object-group network DESTINATION_PUBLIC_IPS
network-object 79.105.0.0 255.255.192.0
network-object 214.182.224.0 255.255.240.0
network-object 204.236.128.0 255.255.192.0
network-object 107.12.0.0 255.255.0.0
3. Create ACL
access-list out-in permit tcp object-group DESTINATION_PUBLIC_IPS host 172.19.26.72 object-group EXTERNAL_TO_INTERNAL
access-list out-in permit tcp object-group DESTINATION_PUBLIC_IPS host 172.19.31.82 object-group EXTERNAL_TO_INTERNAL
4. Bind to outside interface
access-group in interface outside
i think it will work. Please try it and rate this post if it is helpful.
Thanks

  • Verify TCP Port 9100 is unblocked

I've just installed a HP PhotoSmart C4580 'All-in-One' printer on my home wireless network but whenevre I print I get the following message:
"Unable to communicate with the printer. This may be caused by the firewall. If you are using firewall software, verify TCP Port 9100 is unblocked from your PC to the printer 192.168.1.66"
I can ping the printer and if I turn off the McAfee firewall then I can print successfully. Can anyone suggest a solution without having to turn off the firewall.

Hi.  I just got a new hp printer and when I try to install it, I am getting the same error message that you did.  I was wondering if you ever figured out a solution.  Any info you can give me is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Port 80 being unblocked on FIOS

I was wondering if anyone could confirm that Verizon is going to stop blocking port 80 inbound for residential customers?  It would make for a great move to remove that block in my opinion - which is normally one of the pet-peeves when comparing Verizon to Comcast.  I don't see where running non-business web applications (security camera, sharing family photos, etc) would be a problem.
If anyone knows any change on this for sure, I'd greatly appreciate it.  My neighborhood should be ready for FIOS later this year and would love to make the switch!
    - Mark

True, the port can be changed/cloaked using a service like dyndns.org.  I actually have tested that method and it works rather well - but some search engines don't update properly once you change the port from 80.  The entire port 80 block is more of an annoyance than a problem in reality.
I had heard from several sources that Verizon was planning on removing that block on port 80 - but just seeing if anyone else could confirm this and/or have a time table as to when it would be removed.  There are locations right now that have confirmed that the port 80 block has been removed - that were previously blocked.
Personal websites (that are not for profit, not related to any business, and strickly a hobby) should be allowed without having to go through hoops.  While Comcast has it's own set of issues, they do allow that service for residential customers.  I just think this would be a big plus for Verizon to get rid of the port 80 saga once and for all.
If someone is violating the acceptable use by running a business site or otherwise money making type of site, they should be forced to upgrade to a business type of service.
As a possible soon to be Verizon FIOS customer, it doesn't sit well with me that ports can be blocked for legitimate non-business use.  I'm just trying to get some clarity into this so that I can make a good decision.

  • Port Scans

    Hi,
I have a problem where I cannot access my website because my hosting providers firewall keeps blocking me. The problem is they say that they are receiving port scans from my IP to blocked ports. They unblock my IP but an hour or so later is blocked again.
Well, I'm not running, to my knowledge, port scans. The only app that would be hitting there systems would be mail.app but that has been working for over a year so I'm assuming those ports are OK.
I've thought this could be a virus/malware or some such so I've installed ClamXAV and run a full scan but nothing has come up.
Does anybody know how I can monitor the outgoing network requests from by machine? Or any other advice on how to track this down.
    Cheers
    Steve

    Hi
Asking them which ports are being scanned might help? If it's a particular port or series of ports you should be able to use "lsof" from the command line.
    For example:
sudo lsof -i | grep portnubmer
Where "portnumber" is the number of the port. For example 25, 110 etc, or possibly:
sudo lsof -i | grep LISTEN
Which will list all ports that are "listening."
Possibly "LittleSnitch" may also give you some feedback? It's not something I use so I can't really say for certain.

  • HP Officejet 6500 709n network scanner & fax problems

I have a HP p7-1298cb desktop computer that came with Windows 7 and I installed the HP 6500 709n to it successfully. Have a home network with several computers and they all use the printer. The printer was connected to the network with and RJ45 cable. I reciently upgraded my HP desktop to Windows 8 and only that computer has problems with scanning and faxing to this computer. I reinstalled the software (OJ_AIO_6500_E709_Full_Win_WW_140_408)  several times HP desktop using wireless connectivity, wired connectivity and USB connection. Only the USB connection works with all of the printer functions, both wireless and wired only can print. The errors I get with the network connection are the following:
The scan cannot be performed because another program or computer is using the networked HP image device. Try again later. (from HP Solution Center)
Scan communication problems detected. You may experience limited functionality when scanning from your printer to your PC.
If you are using firewall software, verify TCP port 9500 is unblocked from your PC to your printer at 172.17.1.36.
If you are using firewall software, verify TCP port 9290 is unblocked from your PC to your printer at 172.17.1.36.
To fix the issue(s) try to power your printer off and on. (This message is from the installation)
I have added those ports to my firewall and it doesn't have any effect, I also turned off the firewall on the HP desktop and it also has no effect.
I have searched this discussion board and have found similar issues without a resolution.

    Hi Moondoggytoo,
It looks like you need to do a full scrub of the printer software and re-install it.  An issue like this can happen following an upgrade to Windows 8 when a printer was already installed.  I have enclosed steps needed to take that will clear out programs that are no longer needed.  This should allow for a clean start with a new install.  Let me know how it goes.
    Good Luck!
These steps should only be used on a Windows 8 computer.
Try using the scrubber built into the Download.
    From a download:
    1. Run disk cleanup on your computer
    2. Download and run the software and drivers below.  Select Windows 8 32 or 64 bit, click Next and select the Full Feature Software.

    3. Once the download is done extracting, cancel the download.
    4. Press the Windows key and then the “R” key.
    5. This will bring up the Run window.
    6. Type %temp% in the run field
    7. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    8. Open folder Util
    9. Open folder CCC
    10. Run the Uninstall_L4.bat
    11. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    12. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
    13. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

  • No wireless connection to Officejet Pro 8000 printer

This used to work, though occasionally the connection went down. Now nothing at all. I have Windows 7, trying to connect to an HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless printer. Neither has been updated recently as far as I know, and there has been no reason for network or firewall changes that I am aware of.
The printer will produce its three page report, and everything passes ("No problems found", connected to correct network, etc.). I can connect to the printer via USB and print out fine. I have tried rerunning the connection software; it finds the printer (presumably via the USB connection), but then says:
"Your computer is unable to communicate with your printer at 192.168.1.73. This may be caused by firewall software. If you are using firewall software, verify that UDP port 427 is unblocked for both inbound and outbound traffic.
Your PC can not communicate with your printer at address 192.168.1.73. Check all cable connections. Check that the printer, PC and router are powered on and connected to the network."
My Windows firewall is set to "display a notification" when it blocks something, and that has not happened when the software is trying to connect, so it does not seem to be the firewall (and the software should set that up itself anyway). There are no cable connections - I am connecting wirelessly. Everything is turned on. The PC (192.168.1.67) can connect to the router (192.168.1.254) fine. I have tried pinging the printer from a laptop also on the network, and that fails too.
I have restarted both the printer and the PC.
The wireless network has WPA-PSK authentication, but the password has not been changed.
I have tried running the  HP Print and Scan Doctor. It tell me my computer is connected (thanks, I already knew that) and that to connect the printer I need to run the "wireless setup" software (thanks, I already knew that). So that was a waste of time...
When do I go from here?

From what you describe it is possible that the router has a network firewall which is blocking the communication with the printer. I am going to include a image which contains the ports which have to be open on that firewall, you may have to contact the router provider to achieve this.
Another thing to note is that sometimes you get better network success through installing the printer with the USB cord and then performing the USB to Wireless setup witch directly borrows the authentication of your computer.
Let me know how that goes and I will get right back with you!

  • HP Photosmart C4780 problem with wireless connection & firewall

    Hi
I am trying to connect my HP Photosmart C4780 to my wireless network at home.
Each time I try to configure my printer to my wireless network I keep getting the following HP Network Diagnostics Error Message:
Problems may exist with network functions of the printer.  Please try to fix the issue then click Retry or click Next to continue.  See details below.
Your printer is unable to communicate with your printer at 192.168.1.69.  This may be caused by firewall software.  If you are using firewall software verify that UDP port 427 is unblocked for both inbound and outbound traffic.
Your PC cannot communicate with your printer at address 192.168.1.69.  Check all cable connections.  Check that the printer, PC and router are powered and connected to the network.
MY QUERY - I have AVG 2011 security software installed on my laptop which I presume contains firewalls.  But I do not know how to "verify that UDP port 427 is unblocked for both inbound and outbound traffic".  How do I do this?
i am not a tech expert so would appreciate as much help as possile with this as right now I cannot use my printer as it keps showing as Offline.
    Many thanks

  • Printer won't print with upgrad, can't change IP address of printer

I have read lots of posts and did the guided solution several times and even tried reinstalling my printer and none of it helped.
I bought the printer (HP PhotoSmart Plus B209-a) and had Vista 64 bit on my computer. In January I upgraded to Windows 7 and  I was no longer able to print. After reinstalling several times, I was able to get it to work for all of 3 weeks. Now, it won't work again. I tried to reinstall but now my computer won't even show the printer on my printer/device screen. I have downloaded the Windows 7 patch and used the software download that is provided by the HP website.
When I try to configure wirelessly I get the following error :
Print communication problems detected. You may experience limited functionality when printing to your printer from your PC.
If you are using firewall software, verify TCP port 9100 is unblocked from your PC to your printer at 169.254.209.39.

Status communication problems detected. Your PC may not be able to retrieve the printer status and ink levels properly.
If you are using firewall software, verify UDP port 161 is unblocked from your PC to your printer at 169.254.209.39.
To fix the issue(s) try to power your printer off and on.
I have tried to change the firewall to allow, but that doesn't work. I have tried to turn it on and off, but that didn't work. For some reason I can't get to the IP address on the internet (it keeps saying busy, try again later) to change my printer setting and there seems to be no other way to do it. The internet the I use is Comcast, but will be switching to Qwest.
I don't know what else to do, please help.

    Try this patch.

  • Unable to 'Upload to FTP Host' in Muse CC 2014

I have a client that wants to use GoDaddy for their server. I have all the correct user names/ passwords and if I keep tapping "try again"
I will eventually get the following screen:
After I hit "Resume" 5-6 times, the upload will advance:
and eventually my site will be uploaded. I have been using FileZilla to upload because it is taking minimum of 5 minutes to update my site. Does anyone know why this is happening? TIA!!

Very interesting. I'm in the same boat. I just recently bought a Time Capsule 3TB.  I have a 2014 Macbook Pro Retina and wanted to update a Godaddy website in Muse.   When I try to publish to Godaddy using this specific network it will stop at 68% or when the logging into FTP message on the bottom appears. If I use another network it will work fine.
I called Apple and they have no solution. From my basic research I found Muse uses TCP UDP port 6888 and unblocking them seems to not work in Airport.
    Any ideas?

  • Connecting a Mac Pro to A printer on local windows network

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked/answered before. I couldn't find in forum.
I am trying to connect my MacPro to a network printer on a windows computer set up for printer sharing.
I have tried everything [all OSX help files, network setup, even purchased a printer server, etc] but nothing works. I've installed windows xp pro with boot camp and while in windows, I can use the network printer, but not from Mac OSX.
I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance

How about OS X System Preferences => Sharing.
You need to enable the services you want to use which will also open the ports used and unblock in the firewall.

My printer is connected to the router
I uninstalled and re-installed the correct HP software\drivers
the wireless network test report says there are no problems.
I ran the diagnostic tool with no help
I cannot connect to the printer via a browser (no errors, just can't find the device)
I disabled all firewalls (Norton, WIndows and wifi router)
Here are some configuration settings that are printed out:

  • Cannot print wirelessly to HP Officejet 4500

I have an HP Officejet 4500 wireless printer that I have never suceeded in getting to print wirelessly. It will connect to my wireless network fine, but when I install the device driver and go through the configuration steps on my computer it always stops with this message:

My PC is a HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1360ea Desktop with windows 8.1 (it never worked with 8.0 either). I have connected this to my network both wirelessy and via ethernet. Neither work.
    So far I have tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the software from the HP download centre. The file I downloaded is OJ_AIO_4500_G510n-z_Full_Win_WW_140_408. I installed this as an administrator
Disabling my Norton Internet Security smart firewall. I also added the printer to the network map.
Adding a firewall rule to my Netgear DG834GT router to allow inbound and outbound traffic on UDP port 427.
Trying out all the troubleshooting suggestions on www.hp.com/global/us/en/wireless/index.html?jumpid=ex_r11400_go_wirelessprinting

  • IChatAV and file transfer over wireless network

    Hi there...
I'd like to let you in on my predicament. Firstly, a bit of background.
I decided to buy my folks an old iMac from eBay in Australia - and pay for their broadband connection - so that I could video chat to them from the UK, and they could see my 5 year old son for the first time in 4 years. Cute, eh?
Well, everything was working fine until I decided to go wireless in my home about 3 months ago. I have a static IP address, and purchased a nice new Airport Express to integrate into the system. I allocated my G5 iMac it's own network address (10.0.1.2), and the base station the master address (10.0.1.1). From there, the base station communicates to the router via the static IP... Sound ok?
Anyway - NOW (or, for as long as I can recall), I CANNOT for the life of me send files over the connection. Video chat and audio chat are fine (although OCCASIONALLY it takes a few goes to be able to see THEM on my computer - I think their bandwidth isn't THAT stable at 512Kbps down and 128Kbps up) - however, the correct ports have been unblocked on the OSX firewall AND the Airport Express base station.
And just so that you know it's not the folks' fault - I can't send documents/images over the network to friends I KNOW are competent (or, at least more competent than my parents!). There's always an error message at the receiver's end, and the file I'm attempting to send just times out.
Has anyone any suggestions as to how I might be able to resolve this problem before I expire from old age?!?
    Your thoughts are REALLY appreciated!

    Hi Ralph
I can see where that might be the case, but file transfer worked flawlessly BEFORE I went wireless using the same modem. The only way to unblock ports on my router is to turn NAT off - it creates a DMZ, so it permits unhindered 2-way traffic...
It's a pretty confusing piece of kit. Maybe I should just get a Netgear anyway!
I have a laptop on the wireless network as well, and file transfer works a treat between it and the iMac. All I can think of is that because I'm now working on a LAN, there's a blockage to get out to the "Real World" - even though it's easy for video to pass through.
I'll check my unblocked ports again, just to be sure. I'm unfamilar with the term "Jabber" - is that what Apple decided to call one of the elements of iChat? Excuse my ignorance...!

  • C4580 - Problems with Wireless Installation/Setup

I am having problems installing/setting up my C4580 for wireless printing (i.e. through a network option) USB works fine.
It always fails at the same place:
    - I select 'through a network'
    - I select my SSID (Network Name) from the list
    - I enter my WPA key
    - The process runs through Network Diagnostics
    - then gives me the following error:
"Your PC can not communicate with your printer at address 192.168.0.5. Check all cable connections. Check that the printer, PC and router are powered on and connected to the network
Unable to communicate with your printer at this time. This may be caused by a Firewall. If you are using firewall software, verify UDP port 427 is unblocked from your printer at 192.168.0.5 to your pc."
    I have:
    - turned off windows firewall and anti-virus
    - ran the install (including advanced and only selecting the required drivers - to save time on multiple attempts)
    - before each attempt, fully uninstalled everything (using the L1, L2, L3 and L4 .bat files as recommended by HP)
I have a Netgear DG834, which has a firewall. I have not tried adjusting any settings here, apart from reserving the IP Address 192.168.0.5 for the printer and adding the C4580 MAC Address to the Access Control List.
Any help/advice much appreciated. I have spent about 10 hours on this + 1.5 hours to HP Telephone Support + 1 hour to HP Email Support.

The changes you've made to your wireless-router should be applied to the firewall running on your XP computer.  The reason is that those settings on the wireless-router are meant for traffic going between your local network in your home and the wide-area network (aka internet).
You should probably undo those settings.
Let's try adding the printer manually.  This sequence works for XP:
Click "Start" button --> Printers and Faxes.
Under Printer Tasks, click "Add Printer".
Click "Next" button on the first Add Printer Wizard window.
If the option for Local or Network printer appears, select Local printer attached to this computer and click Next.  Make sure that "Automatically detect and install My Plug and play  printer" option is unchecked.
Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port"  and click "Next" button.
In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port wizard" make sure that the printer is  turned on and configured. Click "Next" button.
