Possible parameter issue

I am not really sure if this would fall under parameters or if I am not linking my tables correctly but here goes. I have built a report for an alarm company that needs to feature two sections on the report. The first is the customer information i.e. name, address, account number etc...  which would go in the header. The second is signals generated for the alarm customer which I am using as details. The problem I have is that when I run a report on a customer that has no signals, it will not display either part, the customer information or the signals. It just leaves a blank space. If there are signals, everything comes in  correctly and is valid information.
I have 1 table that is a customer information table linked to a signal history table that uses that same field. For instance customer "Mike" may be account #1025 in the customer table and it is linked to the signal history table in the transmitter field which is also the customer number that shows up with each signal. I am using a one to many relationship. I know the parameters are working correctly since it does display data if there are signals.
It is not unusual for someone to not have signals so what I would like is to still be able to display the customer information in the heading even without the signals. I was able to use a formula to show a message in case of the null values for the signals and the customer info but that is not acceptable at this point. Any ideas?

Try this:
1. Create the left outer join between the CUSTOMER and SIGNALS tables.2. Have NO selection criteria at all3. Create a FROM and a TO date parameter3. Group by CUSTOMER4. Put the CUSTOMER detail in the Group Header5. Add the SIGNAL details into the Detail section6. Create a Formula called 'SignalCount' with the following (sorry, I use basic syntax because I'm old!):       Shared SignalCountVariable as Number       if {SIGNAL.SIGNALDATE} >= {?FromDate} and {SIGNAL.SIGNALDATE} <= {?ToDate} then          SignalCountVariable = SignalCountVariable + 1      end if      formula = SignalCountVariable7. Put this variable into your Detail Section somewhere. It will just be a count of the signals for that customer.8. Create a Formula called 'ResetVariables' with the following (sorry, I use basic syntax):      Shared SignalCountVariable as Number      SignalCountVariable = 0      formula = ''9. Put this new variable in your group header. All it does it set the shared variable to zero for a new group.10. In your section expert for the Detail section, put a formula against 'Supress (No drilldown)': Shared SignalCountVariable as Number      if SignalCountVariable = 0 then          formula = true      else          formula = false      end if11. This will print the detail section if the signal is within the date range and suppress it if it isn't.12. Right-click the Group Footer and select 'Insert section below'. This will create a section called Group Footer #1b.13. Put any summary information into Group Footer #1a and your message 'No activity during this period' in Group Footer #1b.14. In your section expert against Group Footer #1a, put a formula against 'Supress (No drilldown)':     Shared SignalCountVariable as Number     if SignalCountVariable = 0 then         formula = true     else         formula = false     end if15. Group Footer #1a will now only print your summary info if there is any valid signal records.16. In your section expert against Group Footer #1a, put a formula against 'Supress (No drilldown)':     Shared SignalCountVariable as Number     if SignalCountVariable = 0 then         formula = true     else         formula = false     end if17. Group Footer #1b will now only print your message if there is no valid signal records.
This should do the trick - I tried it out on a customer/transaction relationship and it works okay. Let me know if it works for you!

    This user really does not know whether a plugin is involved here, but also, cannot rule that out. And exploring the Plugin Check page with its limited information, has found the following significant issue un-addressed, and thus, mysterious to him.
    Please, consider adding to the Plugin Check page, ref. (b), an explanation on this question>> What must one do, i.e., perform what steps, to update a plugin? I.e, is it infallibly sufficient to download & to run the download? Is updating a fully automated process for all plugins?, or even for some plugins? E.g., does updating an Adobe plugin ever require uninstalling the old plugin first (as does updating the Adobe Reader program, and Acrobat, etc.)?     Thanx for suggesting the Disable button, cor-el, but my question addressed Uninstall of Plug-ins. This was due to the now-recognized problem which afflicts Adobe update patches, that the patch doesn't go well unless the old version is Uninstalled first; thus requiring a clean installation of the fully updated application.
    It is my understanding that the Disable button does not necessarily uninstall the old files. When I was unaware of this consistently occurring property of Adobe's patches, I had more than one case of Adobe Reader and Acrobat failing to update completely, causing hours of fruitless troubleshooting, and this continued with the most recent patches to Adobe Reader, the one updating it to v9.3.2, as well as earlier ones. Therefore, it seems not unreasonable to expect that the Shockwave Flash plugin that is now flagged as vulnerable again (v10.0.45.2), needs to be Uninstalled before updating.
    Is there no dependable method for Uninstalling plugins?
    If not, then one wonders, why not? Is there a reason why Mozilla designs Plugins to be different from Extensions in this regard?

  • Win8.1 Pro & Flash Player 11.9.900.117 "base" parameter issue

    While "streamlining" some code for a web site, I just discovered that my solution doesn't work on my 2 Win8.1 PCs, but works in Vista 32-bit and Win7 64-bit machines. I've tested it in IE, Firefox and Chrome. (By "doesn't work", I mean I get an empty block where the Flash Player frame is supposed to be. Right-clicking on the area brings up the Flash settings menu.)
    The change I made was to have all web pages in the "root" directory of the web site, and the videos (.swf and .flv files) in the "video" directory. Previously, the web pages that ran the videos were in the "video" directory. (This still works on the Win8.1 PCs.) I added the "base" parameter to the code (shown below) to direct the Flash Player to the "video" directory.
    I've been poring through the Adobe site and various forums (fora ?) looking for a clue, but came up empty. Can anyone shed some light on the issue?

    FOLLOW-UP 10/21/2013 -- I almost got around the problem by creating soft links in the web site's root directory to the files in the video directory. This is an ugly workaround, but suggests that the "base" parameter is being totally ignored in the Win8.1 implementation of Flash Player by Firefox & Chrome, both of which can now play the videos. It still doesn't work in IE11, though.

    The "base" parameter issue, as I described it above, has "gone away" silently. Now I can play the movies via Flash Player in IE11, FireFox, Chrome and Safari on my two Win8.1pro laptops.  IE11 was the last holdout -- I had to turn off the PopUp Disabler in the IE settings to let the Flash Player play.
    I'm a happy camper now.

  • Possible Cascade Issue on 11.1.1.3?

    I searched all forums for possible Cascade issues on the add-in and am not finding out anything. We're also up-to date with on the Essbase patches (server and client).
    The issue arises when trying to cascade, a spreadsheet is generated but is empty. Likewise, if I select 'One Workbook, Separate sheets', the same thing happens.
    We're on office 2007.

    Hi Siva,
    I think that these are questions that you should ask on the Infrastructure space since the guys there have way much more knowledge on installations. Additionally, I would suggest to discuss these questions with a consultant who is going to have broader understanding of your requirements.
    Regarding question number 1, generally speaking version 11.1.2.3 is considered to be an improved and more stable version of 11.2.2.2.
    Regarding question number 3, you need to provide more details like number of users per tool, number of concurrent users, volume of data per tool, requirements for High Availability or Disaster recovery etc…

  • "Possible precedence issue with control flow operator"

    Hi guys
    I have following Problem:
    Yesterday I made a distribution update from debian wheezy to debian jessie.
    Since then I got a problem with a plugin which I'm using for Icinga a monitoring system.
    When I run it, I got the error that there is an "Undefined subroutine".
    I read on google that I can fix it, with reinstalling the vsphere SDK, but the installation stuck at "CPAN is downloading and installing pre-requisite Perl module "SOAP::Lite"".
    I can skip this step with Ctrl+C and at the end it says "This installer has successfully installed...".
    But when I run the Plugin I get the error message "Possible precedence issue with control flow operator at /usr/share/perl/5.20/VMware/VICommon.pm line 2147." and the whole plugin stucks.
    I tried the following step which I found in this forum and the error message doesn't appear, but the plugin still stucks...

    Ok I could fix it...
    I changed the line 2147 to
    return (defined $user_agent->cookie_jar and
                      $user_agent->cookie_jar->as_string ne '');
    And this time I waited for a long time and I get a error message that there is a problem with SOAP.
    The solution was to downgrade Net-HTTP and libwww-perl with following commands:
    perl -MCPAN -e shell
    o conf urllist push http://backpan.perl.org
    install GAAS/Net-HTTP-6.03.tar.gz
    install GAAS/libwww-perl-6.03-tar.gz
    The second Command loads older releases to the urllist.

  • Possible DNS issue with AirPort Express basestation?

    Hi all -
    Up until recently my Airport Express has been working great. This past weekend I started noticing that website browsing became slow, and some websites would not come up at all (e.g. popular sites like wordpress.org).
    Otherwise my internet connection works fine (email works, browsing for the most part is normal for all computers on the network, pc and mac).
    I read that this could be a possible DNS issue. I unplugged the AE basestation and plugged my Powerbook directly into my cable modem and was able to get to all websites that I couldn't get to while using the AE. That, and browsing was a heck of a lot faster (it seemed).
    Can anyone help me out and point me to a specific setting on the AE that I can toggle, correct, whatever, to solve this (possible) DNS issue?

    Dear Henry, Thanks for your reply, and we are sorry for having intruded upon the wrong thread with our troubles. Perhaps you could point us to the most pertinent thread. Further pushing credulity Might you assist us further?... We have checked every floor in the building and no new equip has been added, though I can't speculate on the 'hood at large. We added a Time Capsule to the mix hoping that might bring back some stability and speed, but results aren't very promising so far. perhaps you might point us to a resource for professional help, or web sites that may help us define and implement something beyond the ad hoc system we have currently. We have read through the Apple docs regarding Designing Networks, and though informative they don't necessarily explain the nuances / consequences of different configurations, for instance, that WDS will adversely affect net speed. Thanks in advance for your input (should you wish to assist). If you are so inclined I can provide the snap shot of our list of hardware. And again apologies if we are in the wrong place.

    I already reinstalled the package but it still fails with the following error:

    It looks like it's just a warning that doesn't actually affect how it runs.  Anyway, I know almost nothing about Perl, but this patch silences the warning:

  • Reporting Services Point - possibly permissions issue

    I'm having a really hard time configuring a working reporting services point in my test SCCM 2012 R2 environment and was hoping someone might be able to help me work out what's gone wrong.
    My servers are WS2008 R2.  SQL Server 2008 R2 is installed on the primary site server and holds the site database.  I installed SSRS onto a separate site server and added it as a reporting services point.  This worked, and I see the list of
    reports in the SCCM admin console.  However, when I try to run a report - either from the console or via web browser - I get this message:

    SMSAdminUI.log shows this message:

    Now, the reason I think this is a permissions issue is because srsrp.log on the Reporting Point server shows this:
    (!) Error retrieving folders - [Login failed for user 'domain\reportingservercomputername$'.].
    (I've removed the actual name here, obviously.)
    I'm really puzzled about what's going on here, what is trying to authenticate with the SSRS server's machine credentials, and what for.  Looking in SQL Server Management Studio on the primary site server which hosts the SQL database, I can see that
    the account has a login listed and it has its default schema listed as DBO.  On the SSRS server, in Reporting Services Configuration Manager, the Report Server Service Account is set to a dedicated domain user account.  The Current Report Server
    Database Credential is set to my own Windows login using Current User - Integrated Security - I can't seem to get it to accept the dedicated user account.
    Can anyone help me figure out what's gone wrong and how I fix it, please?  I'm by no means a SQL person, and I'm at my wit's end with this!

    The plot thickens.
    The SSRS server has these:
    "The report server has detected a possible denial of service attack. The report server is dropping requests for service from the IP address 192.168.113.163" (this is the IP address of the primary site system, which hosts the SQL database)
    and then
    "Report Server Windows Service (MSSQLSERVER) cannot connect to the report server database"
    The primary site system, meanwhile, has got thousands of these:
    "Login failed for user 'DOMAIN\SSRSSERVERNAME$'. Reason: Token-based server access validation failed with an infrastructure error. Check for previous errors. [CLIENT: 192.168.113.164]" (that's the IP of the SSRS server)
    The Windows firewall is off for both systems.  They're on an isolated test network.  I still don't understand where the setting is that tells it to make SQL queries using the SSRS server's machine account, rather than the dedicated service account
    I created.
    Any more ideas?  Thanks for your help so far - I really appreciate it!

  • Boolean Parameter issue in utl_url.escape

    Hello,
       I am trying to use below query with 2nd parameter as TRUE but I'm getting below error.
    select utl_url.escape(url => 'http://www.sample.com/ümlat.php&\^#q=name', escape_reserved_chars => TRUE) from dual;
    Error:
    [Error] Execution (16: 100): ORA-00904: "TRUE": invalid identifier
    I should pass the parameter as TRUE ( default is FALSE)
    Anyone can support me to over come from this issue.
    FYI - I tried by creating a user defined function and it is working fine but I want to use directly in SELECT statement than using function.

    This isn't an Oracle Text question, but I can probably answer it anyway.
    "TRUE" is a PL/SQL expression for a boolean datatype.  There is no boolean datatype in SQL. Therefore, it is not possible to directly call a PL/SQL procedure requiring a boolean parameter from a SQL select query.  You must wrap it in a procedure using only SQL datatypes, as you have suggested.

  • Shared Parameter Issue in Reqeust sets

    Hi Friends,
    I am having an issue with the shared paramter when running a request set. I have two cps in the request set.
    CP1 has a parameter which has to be unique and so I chose the parameter to be
    select FU||to_char(sysdate,'DDMMYYYYHH24MISS') from dual.
    This is the same parameter which will be passed to the second CP and is a shared paramter.
    I selected the parameter and gave the parameter a name as 'Batch_Name' to the parameter. I used the same name for the parameter in the second CP. But I get and error here when I run the request set.
    The error is "Descriptive flexfield canot take the 11032010195555 as the value".
    Can some one help me witht his.

    What I understand from your explaination is
    1. When the first CP is launched, the CP creates User accounts and creates a batch in hr_pump_batch_headers.
    2. The Second CP which is Data Pump Engine should pick up this batch and use this batch for processing.
    But this is not possible through the request set as the Parameters are validated at the time the request is submitted So when the request is submitted using the request set, the batch would not have been created as the batch is created after the completion first request and hence the batch name will be invalid for the Data Pump Engine at the time of submission.
    Solution : Instead of request set approach, you should launch the Data Pump Engine request from the first CP using FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST. Once the first CP is done with the batch creation, the code should launch the Data Pump Engine Request passing the batch.

    all are optional parameters.
    Now my question is  how to resolve this issue. User has a choice he can enter 1 or more. If you have any sample code related to this. please send it to me.
    Suppose if user enters Work Center, then can anybody tell me How to get the Production Orders for the Entered Work Center.

  • SSRS : Reporting Services - Multi-Value Parameter Issue

    Hi,
    This problem is been around the blogs and forums for while now but may be it's not answered to the fullest. I couldn't get any satisfactory or completed solution on the issue so far, any clues/help will be highly appreciated.
    My scenario is very simple :-
    I am using SQL Server 2005 and SSRS. I need to develop a report which has a parameter value called Customer Name. The users should be able to select multiple customers from the list and sometimes Select All also.  I tried the following :-
    Created two data sets : Second dataset is just to populate the Customer Name
    Created a Report Parameter and mapped with the query parameter where it says  "Where CName in (@Parameter1)"
    Nothing seems to be working although I tried to apply all the existing half-way solutions currently available in the forums. May be I am not getting to the right solution.
    Here is what's happening :-
    When used '?' like "where CName = ?" then it's working fine for the single value. {Multi value query cannot be used with ?}
    But for multiple values when used @Parameter1 like "where CName in (@Parameter1)" it's giving the following error
    Cannot add multi value query parameter '@Parameter1' for data set 'Dataset1' because it is not supported by the data extension.
    However if commented this line it's pulling all the values whether or not selected from the parameter list.

    This problem is been around the blogs and forums for while now but may be it's not answered to the fullest. I couldn't get any satisfactory or completed solution on the issue so far, any clues/help will be highly appreciated.
    My scenario is very simple :-
    I am using SQL Server 2005 and SSRS. I need to develop a report which has a parameter value called Customer Name. The users should be able to select multiple customers from the list and sometimes Select All also.  I tried the following :-
    Created two data sets : Second dataset is just to populate the Customer Name
    Created a Report Parameter and mapped with the query parameter where it says  "Where CName in (@Parameter1)"
    Nothing seems to be working although I tried to apply all the existing half-way solutions currently available in the forums. May be I am not getting to the right solution.
    Here is what's happening :-
    When used '?' like "where CName = ?" then it's working fine for the single value. {Multi value query cannot be used with ?}
    But for multiple values when used @Parameter1 like "where CName in (@Parameter1)" it's giving the following error
    Cannot add multi value query parameter '@Parameter1' for data set 'Dataset1' because it is not supported by the data extension.
    However if commented this line it's pulling all the values whether or not selected from the parameter list.

  • Possible permissions issue - i used migration assistant from a backup and now i have multiple issues

    I'd say my techie skills are low to medium so bare that in mind and be gentle with me
    So 20" dual core died on Friday. poss psu issue which i will fix in due course. In a fit of extravagance I decided this message from beyond the grave from MR JObs was telling me to buy a new quad core on Saturday morning.
    Because old imac was dead i used time machine back up via "migration assistant"
    intially it could see the back ups but then seemed to spring to life after 20 mins
    Got message saying not all content had transferred but reckon most did except for some safari stuff ( paswords etc).
    Then i started to get issues with permissions i think.... asked me for passwords every time i tried to move files between folders or to trash or do pretty much anything.
    read something about permissions conflicts when migrating from another admin/home account from and old imac
    That when i started to activate my over "confident with technolgy" gene - i set HD permission to owned by "me" instead of system and then applied to all enclosed items
    oops
    now getting lots of dodgy messages eg every driver on the make brings up eeor message sayuing it was incorrectly installed
    ran permissions repair - 25 mins later loads of unexpected acls have been corrected though not all -
    still getting error messages about a few which i tracked down manually one by one and, sure enough, are still showing as owned by "me" and not system. Corrected them
    Noticed at this point all other .kext files in same loaction have two permissions rows for "system in "get info" window = is this the root of my problem since using migration assitant?
    still having issues
    software updates won't install via the "software update" function but was able to install a couple of them myself direct from apple website.
    back ups won;t back up to drive assigned - just keeps saying T|ime machine could not complete the back up even though there is space on freshly formatted external drive
    so guys ..
    have just created an unholy mess?
    should i reassign "system" as owner for everything and then change foders such as documents and music etc to be owned by "me" or is that tooo simplistic?
    should i wait till my old mac is brought back to life and re-do my migration ( since deleted the existing back up from old imac so thats not an option)
    should i blame it all on apple and get them to sort it out under warrenty
    or should i run naked down the street shouting wibble...
    all help gratefully received . MY experience of apple products has been seamless over the years until now and I can't help think I have done some thing bad the wife will never forgive me for

    You may not have created a mess, it's possible you simply don't know where your data is after migrating. Had you followed the Setup Assistant's on-screen prompts when you initially turned on your new system you would be running just fine by now. My guess is you haven't been exposed to Pondini's Lion Setup Assistant tips.
    Migration Assistant (MA) and Setup Assistant (SA) are cousins, similar but different. The primary difference is MA creates a new user account which can be confusing to some users. If you successfuly migrated then log out of your existing using account and you should see the new user account. Log into that account then you should see the migrated data. If you do then use Pondini's Transferring files from one User Account to another.
    However if you have totally made of mess out of things then I'd start over, this time using the Setup Assistant Tips beginning where he discusses Second Chance.

  • Report Parameter issue

    I have an rdf report version 10g , registered in oralce apps 11i .I have one parameter for the report.
    When i pass the value for this parameter from SRS window , report is not giving output.
    But when i pass it as null it return the value.Its a character type parameter.I have checked token also in oracle concurrent program definition, and its fine.
    Also when i run the report using report bulder its running fine in both cases.
    Any suggestion what causing the paramter issue.

    earlier report version is 6i , i simply opened it in report builder 10g and compiled it, i hope it did'nt caused any issue.
