Possible to conditionally change item type?

Hi there,
I've been trying to find a possibility to change the item type (text item) into another (disabled text-item) based on the value of that field.
Thus far I haven't found it. Is there anybody who knows if this is possible and how I can do it?
Thanks!
Jacob

Hello Jacob,
>> I've been trying to find a possibility to change the item type (text item) into another (disabled text-item) based on the value of that field.
You should check the “Read Only” section of the item. It allows you to define a condition to set the item as “readOnly”, and in version 3.1 also allows you to define a proper (different) style for it.
Hope this helps,
Arie.

I am using apex 4.0, and I want to know if their is any plug-in that can help me to change the type of an item at run time.
what exactly i want to do is to change the type of an item according to the value of a select list, for example when the user select a specific value from the select list, this item should be displayed as a date piker.
so, can any one help me?
    thanks in advance,
    Ola,

    Hi,
    Here is sample
    https://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=40323:81
When you select "Date" from select list and submit Field is changed to datepicker.
I did create select list P81_SELECT with static LOV
STATIC2:Text;T,Date;DNormal text item P81_FIELD and to page JavaScript Execute when Page Loads
    if($v('P81_SELECT')=='D'){
    $('#P81_FIELD').datepicker({showOn:'both',buttonImage:'#IMAGE_PREFIX#asfdcldr.gif',buttonImageOnly:true});

  • Changing item type programmatically

We've created a custom item type and would now like to programmatically update existing CA items to use that type. Does anyone know of any API or examples to accomplish this?
    much appreciated,

Sorry, that feature is currently not available. Something we're considering for a future release.

  • Possible to link item type to category?

    Hello,
I've created some custom item types, and I've got some categories.
Is it possible to link certain item types to a distinct set of categories?
So item type 1 can only choose between category A and B, and item type 2 can only choose between category C and D ?
    Thanks,
    Ton

    hi ton,
this is not possible. the problem is that you can choose category as an attribute for the custom item type. but the configuration of the available categories are done on page group level. the selection is then used for every item that has this attribute.

  • How to change a item type dynamically?

Is it possible to change a item type dynamically?
    For example.
I've got a page with 2 items. The first is a select list and the second is a date picker. The select list contains two values, 1 and 2.
If value 1 is selected the second item needs to remain a date picker. If value 2 is selected the second item needs to become a Text Field (disabled saves state).
    Anyone got an idea?
    Thx. Frank.

    Frank,
It's not possible to change the item type dynamically as you describe it below. However, to achieve a similar effect you could do the following:
    1) Make the Select List a Select List With Submit.
    2) Have a Date Picker AND a Text Field on the page.
    3) Make the display of the Date Picker item conditional on the relevant value having been chosen from the Select List.
    4) Make the display of the Text Item conditional on the other value having been chosen from the Select List.

  • Sales order condition change for Header and Item level..

    Hi Gurus,
    My requirement is as below..
Business wants to create new sales order from reference.. While creating slaes order fron reference , need to populate header/Item level condition tab data from originally paid by the invoice for that refence sales order not from refence sales order condition price.
I would like to how to bring this one, any user exit or copy control and any VOFm routine need to populate this kind of requirement.
Any one have any idea please let me know.. It very urgent, give reward points for right solution..
    thanks,

    Hi,
Here are the answers to your question
    > Is it possible to add/change condition types on the sales order (header and item level) for which invoice has been created already?
I mean is it possible to add some surcharge condition to already invoiced order and than as result debit memo?
The answer is No. You cannot add or change the condition once it is invoiced.
    > And one more question : Are there some time restrictions when debit/credit memo can be created? (I believe not, but I would like to have this confirmed, as I am not SD expert.)
The answer is No again. There is no time restriction and you can create debit or credit memo immediately when the invoice is released to accounting.
    Hope this helps

  • Unable to change gl account in purchasing document rows of item type(8.8 ve

    Hi all,
In previous sap b1 version ,in purchase document rows of item type -- system allows to change the gl account in rows.
But in current 8.8 it is missing ,can any one know how to activate this or is there any logical reason to lock this.
    Regards,
    Naresh K

    Hi Chandra,
In some older version this was possible. This was changed as this is the stock account to avoid usage of incorrect account and valuation report issues.
If you want a specific stock account for the item change you can define that on the item master data. Set it to Item Level and then change the GL account.
    Hope it helps,

  • How to change content type from Document set to Item

While creating content type I've selected Item as a parent but after created I can see its showing Document Set as a parent content type. Now can anyone please suggest if possible I can change the parent content type from Document Set to Item.

    Hi,
From your description, I know you want to change content type’s parent after creating it.
There is no OOB method to change content type’s parent after you create it. If current content type has not been used, you could delete it and recreate it with your desired base type. Here are similar cases:

  • Header Condition changing to Item condition

    Hi Gurus
I have a header condition ZXXX, Client want to change to item condition manual condition and for only ZOR order type only, for this abaper written rounite and working fine.
But if i made ZXXX header condition to item condition. Does system have any errors with existing open sales orders, deliveries. i have not made any changes in pricing procedure. Will anything changes in conditions of items and header level like subtotals, totals etcs...
    Thanks
    Ramki

Thanks for your inputs Lakshmipathi, for header condition it is there as manual check in pricing procedure, iam doing this ZXXX as item condition and as manual condition in pricing procedure. if i check this, i do not need to put access sequence in condition type.
I have a test case - before i change ZXXX as item condition i have created sales order without deliery, with delivery & PGI, and with invoice.
so after changeing item condition, if i goto open sales order header--> conditions and come back its ZXXX is converting to item condition. if i goto item conditions and come back, its not changing anything.
Please suggest how to go about this.

  • Changing Item Master Type

    Hi..
there are some raw materials we are purchasing but soon we will be manufacturing at our plant.
is it possible to change its type later on (currently i have defined it as  'Purchased Item' by ticking 'Purchased Item' check box on Item Master screen')
    Thanks
    arti

    Hi.......
Then you can do one thing. You have to create new alternate items for such item master in which you need changes and you have to do necessary changes as per you item master requirement for manufacturing firm.
Once you created you can raise special Production Orders in order to convert existing Items into newly created items so that its stock will be transferred to new one and you can use these new items in place of old Items and Old items would then be canceled either by manually or by DTW.........
Hope this will help you out......

  • Is it possible to have undefined attributes for an item type...see more in the messag

I want to create an item called 'book' with attributes like title, date of publish, language, pages....and author, but i want that users can assign many authors (as much as users want)....is this possible?? How can I realize it??? Could I create author like a item type too?
    Thanks for all

You can have any number of multi table mappings in an item descriptor.
Take a look at the following example
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23507_01/Platform.20073/RepositoryGuide/html/s1204repositoryexampleconetomanywitha01.html
You can also open any repository in dyn/admin say userProfile.xml in ProfileAdaptorRepository and see the existing one to many (multi table) mappings.
It just depends on how many multi properties you have in your requirements, create as many multi table relationships.

I recently downloaded yosemite and am trying to put items from my HD into trash.  I keep getting a message "Finder wants to make changes. Type password."

  • 'Item type' was changed automatically

    Hi,
I created a shopping with item type 'service', and its product category was configured as 'automatic bid creation', so a RFx was created automatically.
The problem is, the item type in the RFx was changed to 'material' from original 'service', is it correct?
    Thanks.

    Try this:
alias backup="blah-blah-blah && echo 'All is done correctly.'"
Usually when surrounding quotes with quotes, the outside quotes have to be double and the inside have to be single.

  • Change RPM Item Type after Item creation

There is a requirement where RPM Item Type needs to be changed for an Item after it is created.
Using the Override in SPRO we can enable field for change. But it does not really change all Decision points etc. I think it would not happen since ITem type drives everything once the item is created.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Also, any other alternatives for this requirement besides starting all over again to create the Item?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
1 - Map the permitted item types in the path: SAP Portfolio and Project Management > Portfolio Management > Global Customizing > Portfolio-Independent Settings > Define Portfolio Item Types
Select an item type, a decision point and then set the permitted item types for switch to.
2 - Make settings for process flow in the path: SAP Portfolio and Project Management > Portfolio Management > Global Customizing > Portfolio-Independent Settings > Process Flow for Items > Make Settings for the status mapping for itens
3 - In the portfolio item click in the "Change Process" yellow button.
    3.1 Chosse the item type
3.2 Select "Delete previous decision points"
    3.3 Save

  • How to change column type at runtime in Apex 4.0

    Hello everybody,
I´m newbie as Apex developer using Apex 4.0 with OracleXE 11.2, and now my problem is:
I have a tabular form where one of the columns, when calling the form, is a Display Item, so that you cannot change existing values.

Can I change that Display Item to Select List (named LOV) programmatically at runtime?
If not, what other options do I have?

Hello everybody,Welcome to the forum: please read the FAQ and forum sticky threads (if you haven't done so already), and update your forum profile with a real handle instead of "976832".
When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
<li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    <li>Theme
    <li>Template(s)
<li>Region/item type(s) (making particular distinction as to whether a "report" is a standard report, an interactive report, or in fact an "updateable report" (i.e. a tabular form)
With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.

Take a moment to think about this: have you ever seen this kind of UI pattern on any decent website: +{thread:id=850889}+ ?
