Possible to disable authentication by WL server?

Hi!
I am using WL server 8.1 SP 6 on linux enterprise 7.3. I have Apache installed in another linux server to provide user authentication before sending the request to WL server. Previously I was running WL server 8.1 SP 4 and I do not have problems. After switching to SP 6, I keep getting password challenge from the WL server. It seems that in SP 6, the BASIC authentication is 'working' and is obtaining the user information from the HTTP header to check against its own user list for permissions. If I create the user account in WL server, I have no problems accessing the pages but I do not want to maintain a user list in WL server. I am accessing the webpages hosted through a proxy server and have followed the steps in http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs61/adminguide/apache.html. Any way I can bypass or disable WL server's authentication, depending only on Apache authentication?

Hi!
Thanks Raja for the reply. I am not protecting anything in WL env. The settings were not modified after creation of the domain using the configuration manager. When compared against the settings for my SP 4 version, they are similiar other than those few new options that came with SP 5 and 6. My problem happens when I want to access any web page. When I try to log in more than 5 times, WL console will give an error code BEA-090078 (Notice: User xyz in security realm myrealm has had 5 attempts, locking account for 30 minutes) and subsequent tries will produce an error code BEA-090403 (Critical: Authentication for user xyz denied).

  • How to disable authentication for weblogic server

    Hi expert,
    I have a web application deployed on weblogic server 12c. And I have a client which connects to the web application.  The client will authenticate with server with digest authentication (challenge\response). We use the default authentication in weblogic server and the authentication is done by weblogic server. And it works fine.
    However, I want to run a performance testing to replay all client requests including the requests for authentication. Since it's challenge/response authentication mechanism, the original requests can not pass authentication and weblogic server replies 401. I want to know is there any way to disable weblogic authentication so that the authentication passes when I replay my original request?
    Thanks very much!
    Regards,
    Yan

    You can disable the security of the application in the web.xml. Here there is a security-constraint configured that tells WebLogic what to do, for example,
    <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>All</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/faces/*</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>MANAGER</role-name>
    <role-name>EMPLOYEE</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    <user-data-constraint>
    <transport-guarantee>NONE</transport-guarantee>
    </user-data-constraint>
    </security-constraint>
    If you put the security-constraint in comments, you can access the application, without authentication (note that the application itself probably uses the authentication in order to set certain things, so I do not if this is going to work).

  • Is it possible to disable authentication in SunMC WebConsole?

    Is it possible to configure the webconsole so that no authentication is required to access sunmcweb? I don't need a authentication at this point because the authentication is already done on a proxy server with an self implemented single sign on system. It's very annoying to have to authenticate again to access the SunMC webconsole.
    This is a Sun Management Center 4.0 installation in a Solaris 10 full root zone.
    Thx for suggestions,
    cheers

    The SunMC webconsole in SunMC 4.0 is the Sun Java Web console (https://hostname:6789). This is the portal that many management applications at Sun will place their launch point. CAM, SunMC, zfs BUI, cluster, etc. Depending on the user's RBAC roles, he will see different things. I think the better approach is can the Sun java web console consume whatever API your single sign-on application is using rather than no login authentication.

    I need help authenticating my outgoing server settings in setting up my work email on my Galaxy S5.  It says unable to authenticate or connect to server and I even called helpdesk at my email support and they tried every possible port (80, 25, 3535 or 465 SSL) and none of them work. You will need to get the required info to create/access the account with an email client from your school.
    Are you currently accessing the account with an email client on your computer - if you have a Mac with the Mail.app, or if you have a PC with Outlook Express, etc.? If so, you can get the required account settings there.

  • Possible to disable "server connection interrupted" message?

    I have a mac mini (running lion) connected to the TV as a media center with a Time Capsule 4gen. as a router with all my media on. Connected to the Mac mini via cable. The problem is that I verry often get the message "server connection interrupted" on my mac mini. it could be in the middle of a movie playing from the TC and it does not stop playing but the message pops up (internet and wireless also works normal when this happens), witch is really annoying! I then have to do share screen on it from my macbook and press ignore. So my question is; does anyone know what could be the reason for this and have any ideas i coud try to fix it? if not does anyone know if it is possible to disable the message in question or make it "autoignore" it or anything?

    Not at the moment.. it is a bug.

  • Is it possible to disable multiple logins?

    Is it possible to disable multiple logins by the same user on different computers? I have network hosted user accounts. I need a way to NOT make it possible for user A to go to client Mac A, login and leave himself logged in there then go to client Mac B and login there also. This is creating some unpleasant effects on the server - naturally!
    Any easy way to accomplish this? Perhaps through Profile Manager?
    Thanks!

    Simon,
    Thanks for the reply but I need some elaboration.... "the "Login" preferences for users and groups".... what exactly are we referring to? I don't see such option (or atleast the way it's written), in either Server app or Profile Manager. Are we talking about the same OS X version?
    Thanks.
    P.S. Despite the fact that I have enabled the option in Profile Manager to logout all users on all computers after 30 minutes of inactivity, I have noticed that the iMac clients don't log out the users after the said time...

  • Kindly Is it possible to disable DHCP in this product wap4400n ?

    Dear Engineers and Technicin,
    Good Morning,
    Kindly I need support for wap4400n and I did not find it in the user guide and the administration guid.
    Is it possible to disable DHCP in this product?
    I want the wap4400n Access Point to distribute DHCP from the windows server.
    Best regards,
    Asad
    Refrence:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps10052/index.html

    I dunno the product, but I might be this ...
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/csbap/wap4410n/administration/guide/WAP4410N_Admin_Guide.pdf
    page 25 ...
    STEP 1 Click Setup  > Basic Setup .
    STEP  2 From the IP Settings  drop-down menu, select one of the following options:
    • Static IP Address—Select this option to assign a static or fixed IP address
    to the access point.
    • Automatic Configuration—Select this option to automatically configure
    the IPv4 network settings of the access point using a DHCP server on your
    network. Also select this option to automatically configure the IPv6 network
    settings of the access point using an IPv6 RADVD device enabled on your
    network.
    But i think it is just a brigde, hence your DHCP server is external to the device.
    So you have nothing to disable so to speak:
    From the Frequently Asked Questions, in the above PDF:
    Q. Can the access point act as my DHCP Server?
    No. The access point is nothing more than a wireless hub, and as such
    cannot be configured to handle DHCP capabilities.

  • Possible to shut off iCloud SMTP Server on iPhone?

    Is it possible to use my own smtp server on my icloud account on my iphone.  Really starting to annoy me that I can't figure out how to disable the primary server and use my own.  Thanks!

    Go to Settings > Mail, Calendars and Contacts > iCloud > Account > Mail > SMTP. There you can add additional SMTP servers and disable the iCloud server. I don't know how well that will work, though, since I haven't actually tried it.

  • Disable OCSP in Windows Server 2008 / IIS7

    Is it possible to disable OCSP Stapling on Windows Server 2008 / IIS7?
    The problem is that
    FF30 does not allow access to a secure site if the server supports OCSP Stapling and the user's computer time is in the past.  The error is sec_error_ocsp_future_response.  So users are not able to access our site simply because their time is incorrect!
    If they don't report the error to us, we can't tell them what to do about it and we lose customers.  So we need to disable OCSP Stapling.
    I've tried these thing with no luck:
    add RequestOCSP of type DWORD and set it to
    0 to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\Kerberos\Parameters\
    certutil –setreg chain\ChainCacheResyncFiletime @now
    certutil -urlcache ocsp delete
    OCSP Stapling is commonly disabled (for example,
    sites such as amazon and google disable it). Please let me know how to disable
    OCSP Stapling on IIS7.

    Hi, please check on iis.net's forum. You will have a bigger audiance than there. I unfortunaly cant move the thread there.
    Thanks you for your understanding

  • WGM: is it possible to disable Word 2008 spell check with WGM?

    We have users that will use their macbooks to an exam where the teacher asks if htere is a possiblity to disable the spell check in Word.
    Thanks for any help i can get ...
    OSX server 10.5.6

    Yes, this should be possible.
    Applications store preferences in .plist files, which is basically all WGM does - controls plist files.
    You'll want to first identify which attributes with com.microsoft.Word.plist you want to control via WGM (to disable spell check).
    You may want to have Property List Editor installed (from developer tools - now on system administrator tools too) and open up /Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Word.plist make a not of its settings. Then open word and change the settings necessary to turn off spell check. Then take a look at the plist file a minute afterward, you should notice some settings have changed. I think the setting may be "2008\Options\Options:AutoSpell", but you'll have to double-check.
    Once you know the setting, make a note of it and what the value should be to disable spell check.
    Now, open WGM and click a user, group, computer, or computer list object you want to control the spell check to. Click the preferences pane, then click 'DETAILS' (not Overview - which is default).
    Now click the PLUS button and browse for the com.microsoft.word.plist from your home folder. You may want to select 'ALWAYS' instead of 'OFTEN' as well. Then click 'ADD'.
    Once the plist is added to the list, double click it to edit it (you do not need property list editor for this part), and delete all of the attributes you do not need to control, you just want to leave the 1 or 2 attributes that toggle spell check to be off.
    This should take care of it.

  • Is it possible to disable administrator access to wiki?

    I have a OSX Server 10.9 running, with 3 users in the administrator group.
    Is it possible to disable administratoraccess to a wiki to make the owner the only who can access the wiki.

    No.  Administrators are administrators because they have the power to do anything.  If you want to stop someone from doing anything, you can't let them be an administrator.

  • Is it possible to disable the T3 protocol?

    Is it possible to disable the T3 protocol? I want all server connections to be
    done using HTTP.

    Not really. Just disable it manually when you run that application. Then, send off a bug report to the app's developer and tell him to update it for the latest Tiger. Alternatively, use another newsgroup reader.

  • Is it possible to disable a Sequence?

    Is it possible to disable a sequence. In the documentation below i can't find an option to disable a sequence.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_2011.htm#SQLRF00817

    Is it possible to disable a sequenceHow are you using the sequence ? Sequences are often used to populate/update columns when inserting/updating rows. If so, and assuming you can "disable" the sequence, what happens at the next insert/update ?
    Anyway, if "disable" has the same meaning as disable a trigger or a constraint, then no, that's not possible.

  • Is it possible to disable outbox

    I tend to roam between several wireless networks and hence have configured different smtp-servers in Mail. It often happens that I change the network and forget to change the server, which results in mail getting stuck to ourbox.
    Is it possible to disable outbox? I would much rather see an error message and change to know that I need to change the server.
    Mikko

    You could set policies which when a malware detected an action perform automatically without user interaction but there is no GPO which stop the notification, one reason could be that when notification keep appearing, then user will know something is wrong
    otherwise why FEP should display any warning.

  • Is it possible to disable support for VLV indexes?

    Is it possible to disable the support for VLV indexes?
    We have an application which tries to do VLV searches. We dont' have and don't want to set up any VLV index. Would it be possible to just disable support for them? Make ODSEE not advertise the control and just return "unsupported control" to the client?
    thanks - mo

    I think there are a couple of ways to go about this.
    IIRC the VLV control ought to exist under your config suffix as a "feature". If you look at the documentation for setting up a VLV index, you should see where the VLV configuration objects exist. One common problem users run into with the VLV objects is that they are governed by access control. That is, the bound user has to have permissions to the VLV config object in order to use the control. So - assuming you are using a version of the server that still uses this design - you should be able to disallow VLV control use by any user other than the rootdn (Directory Manager).
    If your application is querying the root dse and checking whether the VLV control is supported (and then obeying what it sees there) you might be able to change the list of supported controls being returned on the root dse. I'm not sure exactly how to do this since I don't recall seeing the supported control attributes in dse.ldif, but my memory is spotty on that. In any case this solution would rely on the good behavior of your clients.
    Actually, if the bound user does not have permission to use the control, there might be an argument to make that the server shouldn't return the control as supported when the root dse is queried by that user.
    The best solution is probably a combination of the two complemented (ideally) with modification to the client that prevents it from sending the VLV control. Since presumably the client is sending the VLV in order to accomplish a client side task, simply causing the VLV to fail may not produce the best results from the end user's perspective.
