Possible to restrict software installation to one account?

Hi. I recently migrated to MacOS Yosemite from Windows, and I am still in the learning process. On my Macbook Pro I have 2 accounts, one for me (Admin) and one for the girlfriend (standard). I was wondering if its possible to install software to only one of the accounts, similar to Windows when given the choice to install to all users or only the current. The software in particular is "Little Snitch". My girlfriend is not at all tech savvy, so popups from Little Snitch will for sure confuse her, and I want to keep it as simple as possible for her, whereas I want as much control as possible.

(1) There is a single "global" Applications folder at the top level of the hard disk directory which provides applications for all users.
(2) In addition, each user has an Applications folder in their own user directory.
If you install an application in (1) it will be available to all users. If you install an applications in (2) it will only be available to the particular user.
I do not know if Little Snitch has an installer, which may put files in global locations confounding the scheme described above. Presumably you can just run little snitch when you are logged in?

You don't have to do anything with the first iPod that you don't use anymore. If you are planning on keeping it, put in a drawer in your house and forget about it.
You don't need a second account to use with the new iPod. I use one Appl e ID and iTunes library for two iPods, and two iPad. I have different content on all four devices. You can select exactly what you want to sync to each device and it can be different content on all devices.

I want to get an iPhone but I don't want to have to update to iTunes 10, which I know I would need to do in order to manage my iPhone. I don't like iTunes 10 because I can't expand my album artwork to a large enough of size in column browser view. Create a separate iTunes library for each device. Note: It is important that you make a new iTunes Library file. Do not just make a copy of your existing iTunes Library file. If iTunes is open, quit it.
Mac users: Hold down the Option key while you open iTunes.
Windows users: Hold down the Shift key while you open iTunes.
In the dialog that appears, click Create Library.
Name and save the alternate library file. iTunes opens with your brand new library file.
Open iTunes Preferences. Choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (Windows).
Click the Advanced tab.
Deselect the "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" checkbox if it is already selected and click OK. This will prevent iTunes from creating duplicates of your existing media files in the new library folder.
Add the specific media files you want on your device to iTunes either by dragging them into iTunes or choosing File > Add to Library (Mac) or File > Add File to Library or Add Folder to Library (Windows).
Once you have the iTunes Library just how you want it, connect and sync your device.
Once the sync is complete, quit iTunes.

Is it possible to have my account name different from the name on the registered credit card? My mother is allowing me to use her credit card for my Apple ID but on things like the iCloud it shows her name, since that's the name on the credit card. So, is there a way for me to have my name as the main account?

How can I use multiple ipad's on one account without sharing individuals personal email accounts?

Is it possible to have multiple ipads on one account and share info, but also allow the individual users to have personal email that is not seen on the other ipad's? We have all ipads on same icloud account because we all need to see the same ical. It seems like that's the problem. If it IS related to icloud then if we have separate icloud accounts, how would we share the main ical otherwise? Sharing the ical is very important for this business so everyone can access the daily schedule. Of course each user still wants to have private email.

you could set up the main icloud itunes acount for ical and not have in setup on the devices
and share the calandar with the other itunes accounts on the devices
or only have it on one device
devices have the users indervidual itunes icloud setup
they should be able to access the shared "main" itunes icloud ical account once it's shared

Yes indeed, you can home share numerous accounts to the Apple TV. What you need to do is use the same ID and password in every case for home sharing, regardless of the fact that it may well be different than the Apple ID and password for the subsequent iTunes accounts.

If you go to Settings > iTunes & AppStore , you can sign out from your account, and sign in with the one you've used to purchase apps.This will not remove any apps you already have on it.
Then you can go to AppStore and download apps you've purchased (either via "Purchased" button in "Updates", or simply search for them and download them.
That way you can have multiple accounts' apps on your iPad. When updating, you will be prompted for the credentials for account you've purchased given App with.

Click on the arrow next to the number of emails in the conversation. That'll show you each separate email. You can create a new mailbox (call it what you want) and drag that email out of the conversation into that mailbox.

Can I restrict itunes to just one user account in windows 7

I have just bought an iPhone and was wondering if it possible to set up two user accounts on my PC that are entirely separate from one another (OS Windows 7). The reason being is that I want to be able to use my iphone with iTunes on one account/partition, but I don't want iTunes to be at all evident on, or have any influence over, the other account: I use both an iPhone and a Creative MP3 player, so want to to keep my MP3s and WMAs synched with Windows Media Player, but I still want to be able to download apps, films and upload photos using my iphone through iTunes.
To illustrate, if I set up two user accounts on my computer - FRED and JANE for example - and install iTunes on FRED's profile only, will it also appear on JANE's profile? If so, is there anyway round this? If I can't achieve this through user accounts, can I do this by partitioning my hard drive into two and then setting up some kind of dual-boot process?

Just an update to the question that I presented when I started this thread.
You really never did say what type of a User Account you are using in your Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 on Windows 7? But based on the information provided by several users, User Account with Administrative Rights seems to be the way to go since all of them were using it and had systems that were running well. I would have expected that based on the Premiere Elements Windows XP requirements. I have yet to have someone come forward to say that they are using Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 on Windows 7 with a User Account with Standard Rights and the program is running well. Will you be that one?
Besides me switching from Windows XP to Windows 7 in the near future, what motivated this line of questioning was the report that I had seen of a user with Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1on Windows 7 who was reporting "permission" error messages when trying to archive a project with the Project Archiver (Archiver "Trimmed" and Copy options). Further questioning brought out that the problem extended to the AutoSave feature as well. The user claimed to be saving to an external hard drive (formatted NTFS) with about 800 MB free space. And still further questioning brought out that the error message included a free space and/or permissions error. Yes, there were extremely large file sizes involved here (way over 4 GB)
The story had a happy ending where the remedies were:
1. User Account with Administrative Rights
and the major
2. Formatting the thought to be NTFS external hard drive from FAT32 to NTFS.

No you cannot transfer purchases from one account to another account. Apple does not allow it and never has allowed it.
She can use you Apple ID on the device and switch between her ID and your ID, but that can cause problems at times and can become a bit of a pain.

Basic problem...my wife has her own iTunes account which she purchases music with, I have my own that i have been purchasing music with...however, married now as we have similar tastes in music and dont want to be duplicating albums etc.

No.
Just put all of your music/apps/etc on one computer/library. Authorize the computer for both ids.

I would like to set up one account with two Apple IDs so I could have one restricted to only free apps and the other unrestricted. My daughter has an iPod Touch and I want to restrict what she can purchase but also make it so if we agree that purchasing an app for her iPod Touch we can. New to this Apple ID stuff.

No. Each account needs it uniquie email adresss as the Apple ID. However, yucan use more than one account on a single iPod and in iTunes.
To change the acount on the iPOd go to Settins>Store and sign out and sign in with the account you wnat. Also see:
