Possible to set opacity of symbol via a script?
hi all - trying to make it so when a button is pushed it changes the opacity of a symbol - preferably between two values over time if possible.
any ideas?
thanks!!
Hi, skotch99-
You can change the symbol's opacity programmatically using the element handle and a little bit of jQuery. Let's say you have a symbol "mySym," with an instance on the Stage called "mySymInstance." Here's how you would do something like that:
sym.$("mySymInstance").animate({"opacity": 0.00}, 1000, function() {});
For more information, see jQuery's documentation on its animate() API:
http://api.jquery.com/animate/
Hope that helps!

Problems setting the charset encoding via jdbc
Dear list,
I would like to know if/how its possible to set the character encoding via the jdbc string, with the oracle thin driver client (classes12.jar).
Microsoft SQLserver for example supports the addition of a charset="utf-8" for example in the jdbc url.
Please could tell me how/if this is possible.
A pasted example would be much appreciated..

Load an Advanced Print Setting in Acrobat via Java-Script
Hi there,
I'd like to know, if there's a way to load an advanced print setting in the Acrobat via Java Script or some other way? (See Screenshot)
Or is it possible to set an created setting as default-setting? (also via Java or something)
Or can somebody tell me, where these created print settings are saved? (in Acrobat X)
Thank you very much for your help and sorry for my english, I hope you understand me. :-)
Kind regards
MankroWhy wouldn't you want to set itas part of an input/output parameter?
This is really the right way ofdoing this. Otherwise you'll end up with hardcoded variable name in your customcomponent and that not ideal.
If you're trying to define a default value for it coming from a properties file, you can just make it a "Configuration" variable and set the value from adminui.

Set a static IP via Router?
Is it possible to set a static IP via my AirPort Extreme router? I am creating a World of Warcraft server and need a static IP address. Please give me directions if you know how to do this. Thanks.
You would either configure a static IP address for the WOW server at the server itself or use the AirPort Utility to reserve a DHCP-provided IP address to the server instead.

Is it possible to set video keyframe "line" from Opacity to Time Remapping as default?
I almost never use opacity effect, but i use Time Remapping very often. Is it possible to set Time Remapping as default effect handler for clips?
Another idea is when you select a clip and want to change it's position or scale you have to expand a "Motion" submenu in Effects panel. Is it possible to have motion expanded by default?No to both.

It should be possible to set default behavior for all file types
It should be possible to set a default action for all file types. I'm so tired of having to manually sit and say "save this file" because Firefail always defaults to "open with" and has disabled the "Do this automatically for files like this from now on."
And spare me the zealotry religious excuses for why its the fault of websites and not Firefail
''edited to remove swearing''I do want users to have full control to be able to set any folder view they want by using Apply to Folders; I just want to set the initial/default view to Detail because that matches what the majority of my users want.
That is, what registry setting changes when I go to a picture folder, change the view to Detail, and click Apply to Folders? Having done that, I still retain the ability to change it to some other view and apply that to folders. But what registry setting
represents the change I just made when applying Detail view to all Picture folders.?
This settings is simple via GUI, but it is related a lot of registry keys, I made a test in my machine, capture the "Apply to Folders" process using Regshot tool (this is a small tool which can compare the regsitry changes after you change some
settings), and this is the result:
this is part of the registry changes, a plenty of registry keys and values need to be changed. hard to list them here. if you have interests, I recommend the tool Regshot, it can help you capture the regsitry changes.

Is it possible to Activate / De Activate Campaign via REST API?
Hi,
Is it possible to Activate / De activate Campaigns via Eloqua REST API?
I was checking out this site on Eloqua Rest API, but could not see the option http://secure.eloqua.com/api/docs/Static/Rest/2.0/index.htm
Regards,
AdityaDear Kia111,
It is possible. What you can do is, insert a radio button group and set the appearance as "checkbox". In this case, you radio button group will appear as if two checkboxes are placed. But, the behavior will be the way you wanted. Checking one radio button (checkbox) will uncheck the other and vice-versa.
In this case, you need to tweak your code based on the binding values set for each radio button in the radio button group. For eg., say if 1 and 2 are the binding values for two radio buttons:
if(chkbox.rawValue == "1")
section.presence = "visible";
else
section.presence = "hidden";
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

Is it possible to set up a computer that uses the Sprint Pantech PX-500 (Mobile Broadband Card) to share its connection via Wi-fi? How would I set this up on a WRT54G?
Thanks so much!

Max. heap size - possibility to set in jar file ?
Hi everybody,
my first question ;-)
I used java webstart for a while to roll out my software to 2 other colleagues. There was a possibility to set the starting and maximum heap size via the jnlp file. Recently I switched my "deployment process" to a simple jar file. I looked through the jar docs and googled a bit until I found this in the [bug database|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4682105]
and especially:
When jar file is read the maximum heap size is already set.
It is not feasible to introduce this feature.
So the only way to do this is using a script ?
Thanks in advance and enjoy your day,
MichaelThanks for your quick and economic response.
Another way would be to use a tool like Launch4j which builds an exe file. Until now I have not been a friend of exe files for java programs. Since my application is only used in Windows environment I will have to rethink this opinion. -
Set top and bottom inset spacing values in Text Frame Options via jsx script
I am looking for a way to set the top and bottom inset spacing values only to 2 points in Text Frame Options via a .jsx scrpt.
For years, I have used a script that sets Preferences, such as:
with(app.storyPreferences){
opticalMarginAlignment = false;
opticalMarginSize = 12; // pts
I would like to add the code to this same script that would make Top = 0p2 and Bottom 0p2 but leave Left and Right as 0p0.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Here is the full .jsx file that we now use to set preferences.
Ideally, this could be modified to include setting any text frame created to have 0p2 inset Top and Bottom, but 0p0 Left and Right:

<i>I am using NAS 4.1 and was wondering is it possible to set a different session timeout for different users?</i>
Um, there is no such thing as NAS4.1.
I'm assuming that you mean NAS4.0 (maybe NAS4.0sp1?). If so, then the session timeouts are specified in the session section of the NTV configuration files.
AFAIK, you can specify session timeouts on a per user basis. -

is it possible to set up multiple iTunes accounts on a single computer?
If you do it with a single user account, you will receive update notifications for purchase made on both IDs regardless of which one you're using at the time. That's slightly frustrating as you get the notification BUT you can't actually update! In any event, separate user accounts on the computer is the cleaner way to go.

No it is not possible. Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, and Apple does not provide a way to change it.
