Post URL for next step in workflow

Does any one know how IdM generates the id for the next step in a workflow?
When you initiate a workflow IdM generates a URL similar to the following:
http://10.84.1.155/idm/user/workItemEdit.jsp?id=%23ID%2351F4B46A5BC216A1%3ABE841C5%3A113F524AB6B%3A-7CE7&lang=en&cntry=US
The first, second and third part of the id here references the task definition and form definition guids but we can't figure out the last 4 digits after the - (in the example above -7CE7).
We are basically trying to go out from a workflow to a custom jsp and then come back in to the next step of the flow.

Thanks Jim. I do have the URL in my jsp that brings me back into my workflow. But I am a bit unclear on how I can make come back into the workflow's next Activity rather than the same activity.
1. Initiate workflow from end user menu
2. Activity 1 --> Manual Step --> when user clicks submit posts to an external jsp (not an idm form)
3. From the external jsp the post is back into the workflow
Issue: step 3 comes back into the workflow but comes into #2 rather than #4 (the next activity).
Reason: the URL that we have is made up of task def --> form def --> some 4 digit number
We can't figure out what this 4 digit number is.
Not sure if I understand your solution correctly, please provide details...

  • The post-expression for the step 'Set Station Global Models' could not be evaluated.

When running a TestStand sequence, I get the following error message:
The post-expression for the step 'Set Station Global Models' could not be evaluated.
Variable or property types do not match or are not compatible.
Error Code:  -17321; Variable or property types do not match or are not compatible.
Although I do understand what the above is telling me, fixing the root cause is somewhat another thing.
I'll explain the scenario.  The code is developped in TS4.1.0, although that should be irrelevant.
I inherited a TestStand project which calls LabVIEW modules.  The original sequence works fine on the test pc (which is remotely located).  The local and remote PC's share the same StationGlobals.ini.
Here is why it is strange..  I do get the error message on the local PC whether I use the old or the new code.  I was assuming that using the same StationGlobals.ini would have fixed that, but it didn't.
When I run the old code on the remote PC, I do not get that message, but I do get it with the new code.  I don't recall modifying code that affected the StationGlobals.  My goal is to fix it on both machines (at least the remote one).
This is the expression that it does not like:
    StationGlobals.Models=Locals.Models,
However, that very same expression exists in the original code.  The one thing that did change is the addition of a new model number in the Locals.Models.newNumber.  I suspect that this contributes to the error.  But why does it give me an error when I run the original sequence locally?  Maybe I should try running it again..
In either case, any suggestions to overcome the error?
    Thanks.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Please ignore post.
I found the problem..  There was a mismatch with the number of models.  Easy fix.  It's all good.
For someone else who might tumble onto this thread for the same reason, here's an explanation.
I added a new model with its variants to the list of Locals.Models.  In total, there were 16 additions to the list.
I also added these to the StationGlobals.  Which meant that my StationGlobals no longer matched the one on the remote PC.
Where the error came in is that there was one missing model in the StationGlobals, so the size (number of models) did not match that of the Locals.
Slight oversight in the sea of models that are listed (I'm not even going to count them).  Now fixed.
    ... and embarrassed ...
I may as well give myself an "Accepted Solution".

  • Workflow - split approved and rejected items for next step

Hi! I have just started building a simple approval workflow for any price variation of the catalog items. I have a question in regards to the handling of rejection and approval of items. Say I run the workflow which does the validation and it spits out 4 items with huge price variation which requires approval by the manager (using the Approve stencil). The manager logs in, review the items and mark 3 items for approval and reject one. It seems that using this Approve function, I can only proceed to the next step if ALL of the items are approved. Is there a way to be able to release the approved items leaving the rejected one behind? This is so that we can release the approved item first (which also means to check in the items) and leave the rejected item in check-out mode.
Appreciate your comments on the above.
    Thanks!
    SF

    Hi SF,
Yes there is a workaround for dealing with the Approved and Disapproved Records by using the Process step instead of the Approve step.
Kindly follow the Elearning session below which will explain you how to go about this:

  • Wait for Event step in Workflow (Urgent).

    Hi,all!
I am unable to implement the wait for event successfully in my workflow..
Sceanrio: I have created a container element in the WF with of type a <b>BOR(ISUPARTNER)</b> whose <b>CREATED</b> event is being waited for in the workflow.
Then in the <b>WAIT FOR EVENT</b> step in WF I m giving putting in the details  of the event..
Then putting a send mail after this.
Problem: Now my workflow is throwing error and the send mail task is not executed even after the said event is done in the system..
Plz... suggest as to how to do it..
    Thanks,
    Sudipto

<i>Now for this I m actually creating a container element of type BOR B in my workflow n putting a step WAIT FOR EVENT in which I m putting the CREATED event. For triggering the CREATED event no instance is required...</i>
    - Once again, Wait For Event step is only possible when the Object Key is available to the Workflow container when the flow reaches the event (are you waiting for a specific ISUPARTNER to be created or you don't care as long as some ISUPARTNER is created).
<i>my event CREATED is not getting triggered automatically...</i>
    - First check if the standard system triggers the event for your object. If not explore different options for doing that.
For your scenario, check if you can trigger a custom event BORB_Created for BORA when BORB is created and use BORA in the Wait step.
Please post future Workflow questions in the Business Process Management forum.
    Cheers,

  • Guidance to ABAPer for Next step..

    Hi all,
Am an BAPer with 3 years of experience worked on  ALE,ALV,Smart forms,IDOC,BDC,Module pool.
Can anybody guide me what exactly out of above is required in CRM?
Please guide me what should be the next step for me in CRM? and why?
    Thanks.

    Hi Sanu,
To begin with CRM,its better you try to understand the functionality available in CRM and how and where in business scenarios it would be used.
All the technical knowledge you mentioned above would also help in CRM,since CRM can inturn be connected to other SAP systems as well as legacy systems. So its an advantage for you that you know stuffs like IDOC,ALE etc.
BDocs are widely used by middle ware module of CRM for data exchange.
Best source for you would be help.sap.com,you can get basic overview of CRM to begin with.
If you have any specific concerns about CRM,plz let me know.
    Hope this helps!

  • Suggestions for Next Steps

Thanks to reading and applying suggestions in this forum, I've been able to raise my Fico scores to 755ex, 741tu, and 750, eq. I have a secured Credit with PNC bank with a zero balance and $2,500.00 limit. I also have an old 7 % high rate mortgage with Wells Fargo I would like to refinance. I'v had two (2) hard credit inquiries in the past two years with the most recent one in 12/2014. My concern is my FICO scores taking a major hit if I 1) apply and convert the secured PNC Bank Card to a regular PNC Credit Card or I apply to refinance my high rate mortgage. Given my current FICO scores, what would be the recommended best next step that will harm my FICO scores the least?

  • How can I change the 'Check-in' trigger for contribution step in Workflow

We have created a Criteria workflow where the workflow is triggered based on a custom field called 'Publish Status'. During check-in, when a content author sets 'Publish Status' = 'Sent to Review', the content is sent to Reviewer's Workflow Assignments. The client however wants to be able do this from the 'Update Metadata screen' i.e., trigger the workflow and send the document to review from the Update Metadata screen and not just check-in screen.
The workflow scenario that client wants is as follows:
    - Author checks-in content
    - Author previews content using custom Preview widget from Content Info screen. This is custom code written that gives author the ability to preview their content within the context of the portal where UCM content is rendered.
    - Author is satisfied with their content.
    - Author should just to go 'Update metadata' and set 'Publish Status = Sent to Review' and this should send the content to Reviewers' workflow assignments.
The problem here is that currently the trigger to send content to Reviewer is only SET by the Check-In screen. How do we change this so it can be triggered directly from the 'Update Metadata' screen and does not require 'Check-in'. The client is right here in that if there is already some checked-in content in UCM that they want to send to review now, why should they have to go to 'Check-out' screen to get to 'Check-in' screen to trigger workflow, why can't they avoid all this and just go to Update Metadata.
We thought of using Basic Workflow as well, but that does not solve our problem, since once the content ID is selected in the basic workflow, the contribution step still requires user to Check-out/Check-In content. Can anyone suggest a way to send content for review by using 'Update Metadata' screen.

    Hi tanushreem,
Update triggered workflows are not an uncommon requirement. However, they are a small customization. We have standard and supported components that will do this and would be happy to chat with you more about them. Please let me know.
Alternatively, it is a fairly straightforward customization if you wanted to build it yourself.

  • Wireless setup wizard on hp 7410 all in one doesn't give promt for next step in setting up wireless

The printer is connected to a computer (windows xp) through usb I want to enable the wirless for my laptop (windows 7). I ran the wireless setup wizard and it says searching for available networks then goes back to the home screen. I ran the network utility and the printer doesn't show up but the printer is shown under devices and printers when I click start. The wirless router is a D-Link dir-815 wireless N dual band router. it is 802.11g and a compliant.

Uh, this is a wireless printer, so let's set it up that way:
    - Disconnect the USB cable to the printer.
    - in Start > All Programs > Hewlett-Packard> [your printer model] > Add a Device.
    - Choose to add a Wireless or Network device.
    - At one point in the installation it will ask you to TEMPORARILY connect a USB cable.  Do so only after it asks.
    - Remove the USB cable when it asks.
Now that the printer is wirelessly connected to your network you can do the same procedure with other computers on the network, only you will NOT use the USB cable to communicate network settings to the printer - that has already been done with the first computer.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Iphone5 visit to Apple Genius Bar after phone would not connect to network.  Now phone is stuck in network set-up menu.  Suggestions for next steps?

I am experiencing the never-ending searching on my iphone5.  Looking for solution and wanted to share some advice.
I traveled out of the cellular network on 5/24 and turned off my phone.  The phone was turned back on 5/25 when I returned to an area where the phone previously connected to the network.  When the phone began searching for the network I performed the recommended trouble shooting steps, power on/off, reset network.  Once home I took it to the Spring store then to the Apple store.  No connection success.  Although the phone could connect via wi-fi and everything else worked fine the phone would not connect to the cellular network leaving the phone and internet service unavailable.
I asked  the Apple Genius Bar if their efforts would still allow me to update my phone via the backup information on the icloud.  The answer was yes.  However after all their efforts my phone was returned locked in the set up menu and is continues to search for a network.  I can no longer access a wi-fi connection or other apps on the phone following the factory reset and connecting the phone to the cellular service that work on 5/24.  Any tips are welcome since my phone is currently a paperweight.  Thank you.
DO NOT ATTEMPT A FACTORY RESET or attempt removing/adding your device to existing cellular service unless your phone is under warranty or you are prepared to purchase a new phone.

Sounds like a data issue on the iPhone. What does the carrier say? Sometimes hardware issues can cause the device to show 'searching' continuously.
Basically, if you restore in iTunes, and the service is not activating after calling Sprint, you may be looking at a hardware replacement of the device.

  • Standard n-step approval workflow for Purchase Order in sap 4.7?

    Hello friend,
In SAP 4.7 there is any standard template for  n-step approval workflow for Purchase Order.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi AM,
there is no std template for n-step approvals but for Single Release.
What you could do is create a custom one as per the number of approvals for PO.
Also note a PO Release Strategy can handle only 8 levels of approval.
    Hope it helps.

  • Iphoto 9.4.2 quitting when pressing info - next steps?

After uploading a batch of new photos, I pressed the info button for one of the photos and iphoto quit unexpectedly. I have 25,000 photos in my iphoto library.
    I tried the following:
    1) Repairing permission and database using the 'first aid' function.
After trying this, the problem was worse ie iphoto now quitting - a second or two after opening.
    2) Created a second iphoto library - that worked fine using iphoto.
    3) Opening my photos Aperture. Also worked fine.
    4) Rebuilding the library using the 'first aid' function - this improved the situation. iphoto no longer quits on opening BUT it is still quitting when I press the info button - so back to square 1!
Ideally I would like to merge my iphoto library with my Aperture library - but don't want to make matters worse by merging a dodgy library with a good one.  I would rather repair the iphoto library first if possible.
I have backed up onto an external drive.
Any suggestions for next steps would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    iPhoto '11, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Syndicate Step in workflow

    Hi All,
Is syndication server required for syndicate step in workflow?
I have doubt that syndicate step is for either manually syndicating or automatically syndicating.
    Please clarify.
    Thanks
    Narendra

    Hi,
Syndication to other system having two types.
    Syndication manual & automatic syndication.
Using the manual syndication we should follow the steps and we can save that as a MAP.
we can use this map for further syndication.
During automatic syndication we have to mention the receiver port which will receive the records.
Regarding workflow , we can trigger the workflow manual as well as automatic.
    Regards,
    Vijay

  • What happens after download complete? I'm not seeing a program, an icon or any next steps...

What are the next steps to open the trial software after the Download Assistant has been installed?  No instructions for next steps!

Biggly2000 what happens if you initiate the download again?  You are directed to choose the download location at the time of download.  If you have chosen a different location such as an Application folder or Program Files then the installation files will not be in your downloads folder.
I would recommend reviewing Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant for several common errors which occur when using the Adobe Download Assistant.
