Power profiles not working

I have a T450S with windows 8.1. I have noticed that the power profile settings i.e. turn off hard disk, display.. put laptop into suspend etc. are not working. No matter what the settings, the system just stays on. What to do?

I take it your phone was still under warranty then?!
Unfortunately I was not so lucky, and my experience was rather poor service-wise. They're called Apple Geniuses but I beg to differ...
I'm not sure where in the world you are located, but my "experience" involved visiting the Leeds store and confusing everyone with this issue. I can tell you, just by the looks on their faces, they had never been faced with this problem before!
I suggested my phone was rolled back to the version it was previously to establish whether this was the underlying issue. I was asked whether my phone had been backed up and as it had the "genius" proceeded to restore the phone "as it came out of the factory" to quote him.
When this was completed the phone was still doing the same thing and I was advised "the software update must have highlighted a hardware issue." I was told it would have to be physically repaired and was told to have this done by a third party as Apple would charge approximately £160. Incidentally, I work in IT and repair PC's, laptops and mobile devices for a living and made a point of raising that a sleep/wake button ribbon cable for an iPhone 4S can be bought on eBay for as little as £3.00...if indeed it does need replacing, which I suspect it does not.
Anyway, so now I was left with a phone for the rest of the day which was blank and still the problem remained. On the train, on the way home, you can then imagine my disbelief when I actually took the time to look at my phone's configuration and realised that iOS version 7.1 was still installed, so obviously the issue would still remain. So the visit to the "genius bar" was a complete waste of time as I'm still in the very same position, and I still blame the 7.1 update for this...let's home 7.2 is released very shortly and this solves the issue...
I have downloaded the package to roll the version back to 7.0 but I'm a little reluctant to carry this out yet as I would expect Apple to so the issue they have caused. This is NOT hardware related but software.
I seriously think Android is calling me...

Dv6 power led not working

Hi everybody!
Today, I changed the fan in my Pavilion dv6-6001eh (the original stop working). After I assembly, the power led not working anymore. I check the cable, but that's ok. Otherwise the power button working. The second power led in the right side next to USB, also not working.
Why? Maybe pressed hotkey?

This is a defect on iPhone 5 power button that wears out in about 13-14 months of usage just after you go out of warranty. Apple is aware of this issue but chooses not to accept this as a defect. I asked the Genius bar guy and they told me this is a common case recently and costs $269 to replace your phone. There is no repair option. I am very mad and believe Apple needs to take action or will lose their customers. All iPhone 5 owners that I know started having this problem in the month of 13 -14.
I believe if the numbers go high, Apple may start a recall program. Please encourage anyone with this problem to post here. $700 phone should not wear out this soon. Apparently the part is defective on almost all iPhone 5 devices.

Bootcamp 5.1.5621 - power saving not working

With latest bootcamp, power saving not working !
I enable the display power off after 10 minuts
Display power off BUT there's no way to power on !
Apple... any help ?? (hoping some apple tech looking discussions..)

X61s, Vista: Power management profile not working

I have 4-5 power management policies (and checked in the register where there are only about that many). One is for working on AC, at home where I don't need to lock access when it goes into standby. It doesn't work.
I've unchecked the "password on standby resume" in both Windows (Vista) and Thinkvantage. How do I make it work?
Also, I find that the power management works poorly. When plugged in it never goes to sleep -- i.e., beyond the screen saver. I keep the BIOS, etc up to date, etc, and it still does not work properly. When on battery, it works fine.

My Power Management (Energy Save Mode) started making trouble. At the beginning it showed "95% available, not charging" - just as it should be in order to optimize battery health (run-time). After a few days, it only came up to 85%; and last week the steady peak reached only "76%, not charging".
Finally managed to reach some Lenovo servicer, who sent me two files: Driver remover an new installation of (latest?) driver for Power Management on Lenovo G560, Windows 7.
After installing these two, the whole program I'd been familiar with before, became much more simple and includes less options. I even can't open the Power Management Options - while clicking on that symbol, a star symbol appears on my task bar, but once I try to activate/open it, the star simply disappears!
Re-installed the Managment Driver - but nothing has improved since then.
While being plugged in (Power), the battery's level shows "Fully charged (100%)" - although it should be put on a Energy saving Power Plan. Once working unplugged, the battery's level decreases rapidly - 95% after 8 minutes of work.
Everything, Laptop+battery is new - never have had problems till now.
How can I install/use the latest Power Manager plus the according driver once again, to make everything work correctly??

Power button not working like it should...

When booting up, I have to press power button several times. Finally, when it does come on (Pavilion dv6Notebook), the fan runs quite a bit. I am worried my hard drive is about to go. Any tips?

Try a soft reset and see what happens.
If the power button is not working, here is a link for a program that remaps the power button on your TX so you can hard reset and power off.
There is a program called PowerBtn 2.0. This allows you to turn off the device when the power button does not work. (Thanks to Computerwiz for the info.)

IPod touch 5th gen. Home button stuck and power button not working! Please help!

I have an iPod 5th Generation and the home button is jammed down! It felt sticky earlier but now it's stuck down. I used it when the home button wasn't working and had to use my notifications to change from app to app (as I didn't know about assistive touch). I turned it off, but now the power button is no longer responsive! The button isn't stuck, but it doesn't work anymore. It was working fine before, but now it won't respond. Please help!

power button of Ideapad Flex14 is not working, i have to boot using the Novo button.
the Volume Buttons on the side of the laptop also doesnot work.
the Windows button the Screen (the windows hardware button on the display) also doesnt work.

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Just to verify, is the power / volume / Windows button sunk?
If not, it's possible that the Function Board / Win8 Button Board is malfunctioning and you may need to contact Lenovo for service.

PSE 11 - MacOX 10.7.5 Printing Wide Format Printer and Profiles Not Working Correctly

When I start up PSE11 and go to print I set up the paper size then select a Printer Profile. When print the image it is a mess and seem to be black and white it is as if I printed on the wrong side of the paper.
I then go and try to print it again.   Now it all works as it should beutiful colours and spot on. all other print following this works.
Then I shut down PSE11.   Start it up again. Guess what first print is a mess again.   all others after are fine.
I uninstalled PSE11, deleted prefs. and reinstalled PSE11.    Same thing..   first print a mess all others ok.
the issue can be replicated consistantly......
no problems with PSE10 or PSE9
any suggestions?????

I have been printing using PSE for over 14 years going back before the term PSE came up. I have done this professionally using profiles from others and those I generate myself..
All the things you mentioned have been done.
The main point missing in your suggestions is   It is only the first print every time I open up PSE11 that does not work...
at completion of print I immediately go back to the file command and say print and then bypass all settings and print again.   this time and every other print aafter are perfect...      I did not change one single setting...
I know about printer and adobe settings etc.     but thanks for going through the list it was a good reminder of how to remember everything sometimes we rush and forget something...
Finally    It works PSE6, PSE9, PSE10, CS5, Lightroom 4.   I think I have the settings right......
Any suggestions for how to get PSE11 to force the settings for the first print would be appreciated..
Only thing I have not done is upgrade to the latest version of the epson driver. Released less than a month ago to provide support for mountain lion.(iam only on lion) Maybe just maybe???   you never know.   Will try this when I finish by next batch of prints.
I will back up as I do weekly...    Still have the old driver from way back in release 10.5.8   will try to fire up to 10.5.8 and see what happens....

Power button seems to be not working more than it is. I'd thought it was a poorly fitting case, then I thought it was just intermittent (talk about denial!) Do people think it's a trip to the Apple Shop or is there a quicker, house based solution?

That is a hardware issue and needs to go to repair centre.
I had the same issue and when I finally had enough and decided to go to Repair Centre(that was today), i realised that my warranty is over by 6 days.
I would def get it looked at as soon as possible.
