Pr CS5 rendering HD ?

Hello
I am for the first time on this forum and I am so happy, how I can see you have a lot exchange of experience, helpful stories etc.
My Question to all of you is ????
IS possible one project who is recorded with Canon XL1-DV and after edited in Pr CS5 and then RENDERING to be in HD???
why is this question!!! because that recorded video is in DV format & I haven't camera in HD. IF ITS possible to be rendered in HD does that HD will be in the same qualite like when you recorded with HD cam?
Thank You

  • Illustrator CS5 rendering Bug?

    Hi All,
This is my first post in this forum.
Recently I found this shared PDF rendering bug
by both Adobe products: Illustrator CS5 and
    Adobe Reader X.
    Look at the attached images.
    Although these screenshots are from
Adobe Reader X and Nitro PDF Reader,
these shows exactly the rendering differences
    between Illustrator Cs5 and Cs4.
The same PDF file opened fine in Illustrator CS4
and 8 different PDF viewers. It does not shows
these square clipping boxes around the words
    "La Tormenta".
Why Adobe changed the way its products interpret
    pdf files?
If you want, you could download the pdf file:

    Hi Scott,
Just exported the file in different PDF versions

  • After Effects CS5 - Rendering Help!

I recently got AE CS5.  When I had CS4, i would always render it as a Windows Media File (.wmv).  But now in CS5 when I render it as that, it just messes up. The size of the finally rendered HD clip will be no more than a few hundred KB's, and sometimes won't even play. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Provide more details about your settings, which version of Windows and where you are storing the file. CS5 being 64bit, there could be any number of issues caused by the differences of 32bit vs. 64bit, including some very rudimentary Windows stuff not related to Adobe....

  • AE CS5 Rendering / Windows 7

I'm trying to render a large project in AE CS5 running under Windows 7. I started it yesterday before going to bed. In the morning the computer was hibernated (as it's supposed to do) but when I woke it up AE was only 10% done with rendering. Is it a bug in AE when it's not holding off hibernation/sleep in Windows? Or is there some setting in AE that I missed?
PS. It used to work in CS4.

    Thanks.
Just curious though, do people render stuff in Ps that may take that long?
PS. How long do you think it will take them to address this hibernation issue? Because I was running a trial in hopes of switching and if things are the way they are now I'd rather stick with CS4 for awhile.

  • CS5 rendering wrong frame count?

Normally I'd assume that this is user error, but we're seeing this problem on multiple computers from multiple animators running multiple versions of OSX. When we render out a project at full-res, 16-bit Avid1:1x, the file that's produced is randomly the wrong amount of frames -- for example, a 170 frame project resulted in a render that was 212 frames. We've double-checked everything, and the render settings are all correct. What's really weird is that if we render the exact same project at half-res, the frame count of the rendered file is correct.
Has anyone else ever seen this happen? It's only happened in CS5, and we're witnessing it happen almost every day. I'd guess that there's something weird going on with the Avid1:1x codec, but we use the exact same codec in CS4 without issue.

This may relate to the inability to access the CoDec specific settings panels for Avid CoDecs and specifics. I would dare a bet and say that the CoDec is locked into a specific framerate that isn't compliant with your comp settings. here's the deal: Since Avid CoDecs have dedicated settings for fields, it seems to me that when rendering at half res it is interpretting AE's reduced res as fields, which it thne simply duplicates or as correct full frames. At full res, it interprets the data wrongly and thus you end up with incorrect frame counts. So, to cut a long story short, unless you get access to the CoDec options from wuithin AE, which because of the mentioned bug may not be possible, I see no way to get it working correctly. Thus, for the time being, you will have to use otehr CoDecs or image sequences.

  • CS5 Rendering on a Nvidia GTX285 and Display on a Radeon

    Hi,
I am trying to migrate to windows 7/64 and have used the Nvidia video processors for many years. I am currently using a GTX 285 with Premier Pro CS5 and the realtime rendering works exactly as advertised, it is truly phenomenal to see my effects immediately.
Unfortunately Nvidia has abandoned spanning the desktop accross two monitors, a feature that is built into ATI Radeon video cards. I would like to switch my displays over to a Radeon card and retain the Nvidia card in the system just for rendering.
Will CS5 still recognize the Nvidia card and use it for rendering?
    Has any tried this configuration?
Any hints on how best to go about this?

Straight from the proverbial horse's mouth:

    Hi Manuel,
Please answer this time. I am going to replace my entire system, because my mother board does not support SLI.
I need to know from you exactly what cards in SLI configuration support horizontal spanning under windows 7.
I do not need brands, just the gpu's
    Please answer
    Gerard
There  is no horizontal span support for any of our graphics cards under  Windows 7, either Quadro or Geforce.  We do have a feature called NVIDIA  Surround which is like Horizontal Span but requires 3 monitors.  It  will not work across two monitors only.  Also, all three monitors are  required to run at the same screen resolution, refresh rate and sync  polarity.
Since you are building a new system, any of the 400  series supports GPUs will support 2D NVIDIA Surround.  For more  information, you can visit the system requirements page at:
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dv-system-re...technology.html
Horizontal Span is only supported at this time under Windows XP.

  • AE CS5 rendering problems

    Hi,
I’m using After Effects CS5. I'm also using Video Copilots Element 3D v1.6 with Jetsrtike. My machine is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Whenever I try to output a render I get the following message after about 5 seconds:
‘After Effects error: An output module stopped responding. The file may be damaged or corrupted. You may need to restart After Effects.’
Restarting After Effects makes no difference, as does restarting my machine, and the message doesn’t really tell me much of use.
It’s effectively rendered my After Effects useless. What’s happening here? How can I resolve it?
    Thanks.

  • CS5 renders 24p HDV as alternating lines?

I'm having issues rendering HDV 1080p24 sequences containing Sony V1U 1080i 24pSCNA footage. If I render a timeline preview or render out a sequence through Adobe Media Encoder the rendered footage looks pixelated as contrasting detail flickers/shimmers. It looks exactly like Premiere Pro is rendering each frame by alternating between fields. I have tried turning on Maximum Render Quality and Maximum Bit Depth in both the sequences and Adobe Media Encoder, as well as changing the 24p Conversion Method in Playback Settings, to no avail.
The original footage Premiere captured from tape looks perfectly fine when played back in a third-party media player. Aside from some tearing on movement it also looks fine played back in Premiere using the Mercury engine accelerated by an NVIDIA GTX 470. The issue only occurs when a preview is rendered or the sequence is rendered out through AME (even when previews have not been generated or used for AME's rendering).
I've checked the interpret footage dialog, but there doesn't appear to be any useful options. Changing the footage's framerate to 23.976 merely slows down the footage, so PPro must be performing reverse pulldown on the fly in the sequence.

No, I'm editing in an HDV 1080p24 sequence. I wanted to edit and export as 23.976p, so that's why I chose that preset.
According to the preset's description, it is "For editing with IEEE1394 (FireWire/i.LINK) HDV equipment. 16:9 progressive-scan 1080p HD video at 23.976 frames per second. 48kHz audio."

  • After Effects CS5 rendering with 48 cores and 96 GB of RAM

My company is trying to put together some new machines for our render farm. Currently we are considering building a system with 4 12-core CPUs and 96 GB of RAM. Theoretically this would mean that After Effects could render 48 frames simultaneously, but I've never heard of anyone running AE on this many cores. Does anyone have any insight on whether or not this would work well?
    TYAN S8812WGM3NR Quad Socket Motherboard, G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 1333 (x 24), AMD Opteron 6172 Magny-Cours 2.1GHz 12-Core Processor (x 4), Adobe Creative Suite 5

What kind(s) of source footage? What format are you rendering and  exporting to? Tell us about your hard disk setup (since demands for  reading source data and writing output will be high).
Start by extrapolating from the recommendations here. You need to make sure that you're not overscheduling your processors and starving processes of RAM.

  • Anyone have problem with CS5 renderer?

I put title to a sequence, and then nested this sequence to another sequence. the title "jumps" after rendering the second sequence.....
and then i tried rendering sequence 1 and then put this rendered sequence 1 into sequence 2. the same thing happened.
second problem. all titles added with premiere title will become very ugly if i render with progressive field type.... titles are find to render with lower field, but... since i used slow motion for the footage, the footage looks split.....

Try clearing your media cache which is in the Media section of Premiere Pro's preferences.  Sometimes that can help.

  • PPro CS5 rendered timeline keeps needing to be re-rendered upon open

I have a project with 10 tracks of video.  What's happening is that if I spend the time to render the timeline to get all green and yellow bars above my project, if I save, exit and re-open the project, the same set of red bars are there and I have to re-render them again.  Is this a bug or do I need to set something differently in my settings?
    Currently:
    Preferences
Memory - set to optimize for Memory
Media Cache Files - Save Media Cache files next to originals when possible / Location (same volume as Vid/Aud Previews are on) / Media Cache Database (same volume as Vid/Aud Previews are on)
    Scratch disks:
Captured Video / Audio same as project
Video / Audio Previews on seperate internal disk
    System specs:
    Mac Pro 4,1 4-core 2.93GHz
    OS 10.6.5
    16GB RAM
    ATI Radeon HD 4870
    Premiere Pro CS5 5.0.3

THis sounds like a job for my cure all response - hope it works for you.

  • AVCHD presets in CS5 where? + Settings...

Finding it hard to find resources on line about editing AVCHD, so heres what I've got...
I get frequent glitches and weirdness in CS5 (rendered sections look terribl, occasional crashes. SOmetimes a single layer of AVCHD wont play smoothly, sometimes several layers will play fine).  I'm using mecury hardware playback with a GTX275. I shoot pal 1080p @ 25 and edit @ 720p

"**The trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 does not include some  features that depend on software licensed from parties other than Adobe.  For example, some codecs for encoding MPEG formats are available only  with the full version of this product."
Yes I read this, thought it pertained to export only (which doesn't faze me).
If it impacts playback of AVCHD files using h.264 codec, I'm all ears - and it would be ironic, because since using the trial I've actually been thinking about other editing platforms!! (Whereas before it was a forgon conclusion that I'd upgrade to the master collection).

  • Pre-Rendering issue

I've been having this issue in CS5 and was wondering of anyone could help me figure out how to fix it. AE is rendering every layer in a comp, even if there's another layer covering the entire workspace. For example: I've rendered a QT movie from a complicated Comp, but I noticed that there's an issue a couple seconds in but only lasts for a few frames. So I import the rendered movie, place it at layer #1 in the comp that I just rendered and Lift the section out of the movie that had the problem. I then fix the issue in the comp source and re-render. Now, in every version of AE that I've used, since the movie is at the top layer and covers the entire composition, nothing below the movie is computed or rendered until the render gets to the gap in the movie. Once the gap is rendered, the progress bar zooms on to the end because it's only rendering from a movie. For Some reason, CS5 renders everything, regardless of if there's a movie or other layer covering the entire comp. Here's an easy way to replicate:
    New Comp: create a Solid.
    duplicate the solid.
to the Solid on layer 2, apply Particle Playground.
duplicate this solid about 10 times
Result: the Comp still calculates every layer, even though there's still a solid at layer one covering the entire comp and that every layer with particle playground applied to it is being rendered.
I'm using Particle Playground as an placeholder for something heavily computaional. I've searched the forums and found only slight mentions of this issue with no solutions. anyone got any suggestions?

It's a bug in After Effects CS5. It was fixed in After Effects CS5.5.
You might want to check in the After Effects CS5.5 trial version to verify for yourself.

  • JPEG2000 rendering - How to?

    Hello,
I am trying to render a project directly to a JPEG2000 sequence but currently it requires 10 diffrent steps in order to get the needed JPEG2000 variant.
First, I reneder out a TIFF-sequence, then changing the colordepth with a OpenSource converter. From there, I use the converted TIFF's to make JPEG2000 with ANOTHER OpenSource converter - this is to meet the requirements of Dolby Digital Cinema equipment with a DCP Packaging.
Is there an easier way to achieve this? Is there a JPEG2000 codec or plugin-converter for After Effects or Premiere?

CS5 renders DCI compliant J2K in the default XYZ color space and the logarithmic DPX space, if I remember correctly. Otherwise I'm not aware of any way to do this directly, but even the info regarding CS5 should be taken carefully, as I don't do digital cinema stuff and never have actually used it....

  • Export changes the black point

I've noticed that when exporting from LR4 (and LR3 for that matter) that on certain photos with deep blacks, the black point gets shifted during the export (for lack of a better term)
By this, I mean that on some of my dark (i.e. night and or low key shots) what I see on the screen in the develop module is a nice even gradient from 0,0,0 to whatever comes out of the shadow.  When I switch to Library module, the blacks get a little pixelated in some areas in that view.  If I then export the photo the blacks are blocky in the rendered .jpeg.
If I take that same photo and export it to CS5 as a 16 bit .tiff, all my smooth tones are preserved.  If I save that file from CS5 for web and devices (at the same resolution as I do for LR, i.e. 1024px wide) then what I see in that CS5 rendered export is what I saw on the screen during my editing.
I had/have this issue with LR3, and work around it by exporting those types of photos with CS5, but it would be nice to not have to play that game.
A while back I asked this same Q re: LR3's export behavior and an employee (Ben Warde I believe) asked for some sample files.  I sent them along but alas have heard nothing back.
So, um... can we try again?  Has anyone else had this issue?  Does LR use a different export method/algorythm than PS "save for web and devices'?
I'm 100% certain it's not a corrupt monitor profile or a calibration issue as it happens on both my calibrated Macs (MBPro and iMac), and when I edit, I see nice smooth gradients from black to shadow, and CS5 makes a nice export, it's just LR that pixelates my darks...
I just want my exported jpegs to be WYSIWYG out of LR, just like they are from PSCS5...

I apologize for asking you to do this again, but please send me sample files.  You can contact me at [email protected] (personal email); feel free to use YouSendIt.com, dropbox, etc.
(I suspect what you're seeing is the difference between the Ps and Lr JPEG compression system -- yes, they're different.)
