Data Modeler : Modifying the Table Report layout
Hi ,
I'm using SQL Data Modeler (DM) 4.0 EA .
I used the File -> reports option to generate the reports on Table and in the report
1) I couldn't see the column data type ? (Refer below table ) , Is there any options to bring on the Data Type in the Report ?

2) In options to manage the Table report (Reports -> Manage). Currently I can only remove a heading (like Descriptions Notes ,columns,column comments.). Is there is any way to customize the report in such a way that I can remove some columns (mostly the empty ones) from the report and add the column comments along with the column table than a new column comments table.
Please let me know ,is there is an option to customize the report .
Note: I even tried generating the report using the search then report , but it doesn't give a complete report (i was only able to generate a report on column or table name or constraints , not all together.)
Thanks,
Srinivasan.KThanks for the immediate reply.
I checked on the DM again, the report comes good for the one which has the data type . But now all my data type changed to UNKNOWN and lokks like ,due to this my table report is coming without the "Data Type".
Can you please help me in fixing this unknown data type issue ?

Hi,
I have created a Pivot Table report (I use them all the time in Excel) as one of my rows...I am using a field that is a formula. When I look at the pivot table results there is a sum by this "row category"...all total 1726 items (correct # of total items' but the sum by each of the 4 items is wrong...when I drill (I can only drill from a higher level)...I get the detail of the 1726 items correctly...but if I do a pivot in Excel off the detail I get a different number in the 4 categories (actually the correct summary data)....HOW do I fix this...we really want to use the power of the report...but with such a large error it is difficult to trust the results of the report.
Report
Source Type MAG Created Year Parent Account Target Market # of Accounts
Marketing 2004 Unspecified Key Account 2,521
Quanta Services Inc Key Account 1
2005 Unspecified Key Account 388
Vipar Heavy Duty Key Account 29
2006 Unspecified Key Account 824
2007 Unspecified Key Account 838
Domino's Pizza Key Account 9
2008 Unspecified Key Account 582
Marketing 5,192
Grand Total 5,192
When you drill down...for instance...the data for 2007 Unspecified is 358 NOT 838....
Please assist!!! ASAPIt is very difficult to troubleshoot a report without seeing it, but it looks to me like you have a problem with your aggregation rules... each column has an aggregation rule, and a pivot table measure can also have an aggregation rule... sometimes, depending on the formula and columns that make up your formula, the aggregation rules can cause seemingly incorrect totals because the data is aggregated on the table and then re-aggregated on the pivot table.
If you would like, you may email me directly and I will see if I can help further.

Change crystal report data source dynamically failed with multi tables report
hello all
i have many reports created by someone else on his own machine using same database file i use
my application use Visual studio 2013 win form with crystal report pack 9
i use rpt files provided to me
connect database use OLEDB
to show form i use below code
SQLstr = " select what ever from table " ' defined as Public
reportName = rpt file path & report name
showReport()
public sub showReport()
reportTable.clear() ' defined as Public
DBAdapter = new oleDpdataAdapter(SQLstr,DBconnection)
DBAdapter.fill(reportTable)
dim rptDoc as new Crystaldesicin.crystalreports.Engine.ReportDocument
rptDoc.load(reportName)
rptDoc.setdatasource(reportTable)
formRpt.RptViewer.reportsource = rptDoc
formRpt.showdialog()
now
when i use one table report with (select from one table) >>>>> works perfectly
but when i use report retrieve data from 2 tables and group data like using
SQLstr = " select 'table'.'coulumn', 'table2'.'column' ....... etc
from 'table1'
INNER JOIN 'table2' ON 'table'.'coulumn' = 'table2'.'column'
it's not working and formrpt shown but asking for database login
I noted that in database login window : server name refer to ORIGINAL DATABASE USED BY Report Creator not to my local database
================================================
i tried to set
rptDoc.datasourceconnection.item(0).setconnection("","databse file path and name", False)
rptDoc.datasourceconnection.item(0).setlogin("admin","")
but the same
using dataset instead of reportTable the same error
================================================
what i missed in this type of reports?
( apologize about long take and poor English )Hi

Is there a table/report that shows a list of the original tcodes vs tcodes?
How to I find out the calling tcode of a transaction other than using SE93?
e.g
ABUM 's original tcode is AB01.
Is there a table/report that shows a list of the original tcodes vs tcodes?Table TCDCOUPLES gives a list of called tcodes for a particular tcode.
e.g
For parameter tcode 1KEF , called-tcodes are :
1KE1
1KEF
1KEG
OKKS
BUT this table does not show which called-tcode is the original tcode.
Using se93, I see that 1KEG is the original tcode.
Is there a table that will show only the parameter tcodes vs orginal tcodes? -
How to find ECC tables/ reports based on which a DB View is created?
Hi All,
We have customized data source created based on a View/ Table. How can i find the ECC tables/ reports based on which this View has been created and also the logic behind which the different fields extract data from ECC..
Please advice.
Thanks & Regards
SnehaHi Sneha,
The only logic, i guess, that could be used is either defining the join fields or some restriction put in the selection conditions tab of the view. for e.g. if the view should only return Doc type XYZ, the same could be implemented in selection conditions tab. for transaction to check the view, it was already posted above. -
Hi guys,
I'm currently getting an error when I run VF04 with more than 999 sales orders. The error which I'm getting is:-
"Error System error in: table: report: LFMRIF02 routine: SET_NUMBER"
Upon further debugging, I found out that Buzei is the line item number and in the subroutine SET_ITEMS (Include LFMRIF28) l_buzei is incremented by 1 each time we encounter an empty/000 line item number. Unfortunately when l_buzei is at 999, an addition of 1 takes it back to value 000. It is this 000 value that triggers the error message we had seen in subroutine SET_NUMBERS (Include LFMRIF29).
Has anyone encountered this error before? Some points as to where I can start would be helpful.
Thanks.Hello..
Your suggested OSS note was created 2006, nevertheless it was still helpful for me to start my search from there. Also for that note, it will effect the Funds Management reporting line items, it will simply don't appear.
Better alternative would be OSS 964228, this basically skips the '999' items and proceed. No affects on the funds management reporting either. -

System error in: & table: & report: LFMRIF02 routine set numbers
_we are facing below mentioned error in f-43_
_*"System error in: & table: & report: LFMRIF02 - routine - set numbers "Dear,
This is the reason why I am insisting upon debugging. Debugging will let you which table is unable to derive data in certain cases. When you face this error then enter /h in transaction bar and enter, you will be directed to the debug screen. But you will not be in a position to understand the coding so that get your ABAPer for a while to get you understand the problem.

Hi all
The question is in the title i.e. is it possible to add cursor in the 2d table report ? A customer asked me this question, and till now i wasn't able to find a good answer. I didn't find any property to do this, and i think this could be a great funtion.
Thanks for your future answer !Hi KaBooOoom,
Well, we're getting closer, but I'm still not convinced I really know what you want. If you want to display in a REPORT table a certain row range from the data channel values, that is NOT starting at the first value and NOT ending at the last value, then you can already accomplish this by setting the start and end row to display in the table configuration dialog under the "Scaling" tab.
If you want t do this based on vertical cursors you drag around in a VIEW graph, then this can be accomplished by copying the flagged region betwee the cursors into new data channels and linking to these new data channels in your REPORT table.
Finally, if you see what you want already in VIEW, you can transfer the VIEW layout into a new REPORT layout with the "Transfer to REPORT" icon at the top of the VIEW panel.

Hi, I need to create some tables, reports and timetable templates for school but don't have any software currently that can cope with this. I'd be very grateful if someone could suggest a free software program that can let me easily draw straight lines and add text etc. Thanks very much for any advice.

How to create a table report with alphabetic link at the top
Hello,
I have a db table of users, and have created a report based on this table, however I want to have each aphabet letter at the top of the report so that users can click on the letter and see all records where the username field starts with that letter.
How can I achieve this?
Thanks,Hello user11243298 (please tell us your name),
Your report query would look something like this (assuming page number is 1):
select some_column1, some_column2
from your_user_table
where username like :P1_INITIAL || '%'
For the letters at the top of the report, here's a couple options:
- If you want all letters to appear whether or not there are any rows, you can create a series of buttons or links, one for each letter, and specify the target URL to submit back to the report page, setting the item P1_INITIAL to each letter.
- If you want only letters that have rows, one way is to create a dynamic LOV based on a query like this:
select distinct upper(substr(username, 1, 1)) d, distinct upper(substr(username, 1, 1)) v
from your_user_table
order by upper(substr(username, 1, 1))
Then use that for a select list with submit, again targeting the report page and setting P1_INITIAL to the selected value.
Hope this helps (if it does, please reward it),
