Pre-loaded windows 8.1 error

To start of with , may I disclose to you that I am a complete novice to computers and do not understand any of the tech names used in these forums , I have a G500 , brought from new , with windows 8.1 pre-loaded . I have used it without problem for 14 months now , but have recently been recieving messages to activate windows . I contacted Microsoft support , and they tried to remotely activate windows for me , but were unable to . They told me that a error in the licence that was pre-injected in the motherboard is the cause . Has anybody any idea how to correct this ? Microsoft told me that the error was already there before I brought the computer , Any help would be much appreciated

Hello thanx for answering I purchased the computer from a large , reputable company in the uk called littlewoods in april 2014 , I cannot discover the status of my warrenty , as when I put my computers serial number in the warrenty checker , it informs me that it does not recognise it . I believe though , that it came with a 12 month warranty . The lady at microsoft support informed me that the best way to sort this out ,would be to purchase a new windows 8.1 . But ,as she told me that the error was already in the computer before I purchased it , this seems a little unfair , as the fault is not due to anything I have done .

I have not received any recovery disk from LENOVO along with the laptop. Do I need to download all drivers from the LENOVO web site to recover my system after the Vista re-install? Hi ljinks, welcome to the forum,
do you have a folder D:\drivers on your system? I believe that some Idea system do; it should contain drivers and preinstalled apps in which case hopefully you'll find it there.

MOS-01012 during Oracle Pre-Load phase system copy

Hello,
The problem is in phase 'Oracle Pre-Load Actions', we have error:
MOS-01012 PROBLEM: '/sapmnt/Q02/exe/saplicense -R3Setup Q02 "OMLRUURS" TRACE=2' returned with '254' which is not a defined as a success code.
Homogenous system copy, AIX, ORA 9.2.0.8

Did you install the Oracle 9.2.0.8 client? Or did you link the binaries from the ORACLE_HOME? Or are you using the Oracle client from the installation DVD?

Oracle Pre-Load Actions error

HI All,
I am trying to install SAP R/3 4.7 IDES, Oracle 9 with patch 9.2.0.3.0 on 2003 Server SP2. I have encountered the following error during Database Instance installation step of Oracle Pre-load Actions .
CJS-00084 SQL Statement or Script failed. Error Message: Executable C:\oracle\ora92/bin/sqlplus.exe returns 3.

FJS-00012 Error when executing script.
I have already tried following solutions.
1) directory C:\oracle\ora92/bin/sqlplus.exe is there I able to connect as sysdba
2) I changed C:\SAPinst_Oracle_KERNEL" name with no spaces
3) Installed Oracle without installing Database.
I think I am making a mistake in following two steps.
1) I did installed Ms Loop Back adapter but what exact entry I need to put in Host file?
2) When I installed Oracle and run Sapserver.cmd file, windows message popup and ask which program I want to use to open Sapserver.rsp file and I choose notepad.
After Oracle installed, I run some Sqlplus commands and able to connect as sysdba but listener status command showing one listener is running and other status unknow. After installation stop, Listener status giving TNS adapter error.
Please help.

never change the directory name of SAPinst working directory. It is designed in this version to use a directory with spaces and it will work with it.
What you should not do is to copy additional CDs (like Export, Kernel) into directories having blanks in the path.

That should not happen at all.
The response file is opened by Oracle's setup.exe which is invoked by sapserver.cmd. Is the Oracle CD located on a directory containing blanks?

My MacBook Pro encounters an error when partitioning for loading windows using Bootcamp Assistant. I deleted the partition that was there in order to upgrade to Bootcamp 5 but now I am struggling to get Bootcamp 5 to complete the job. Help please.

I am struggling to Partition my MacBook Pro using Bootcamp 5, can someone help, please. I previously had successfully loaded Windows 7 running Bootcamp 4 on the same machine. When I upgraded to Windows 8 I started encountering problems. My trackpad would not work and it required me to load Bootcamp 5" as I was running 32 bit this is not supported by Bootcamp 5 I had to completely delete the previous partition, but now I can't repartition as it goes halfway and says an error has been encountered and Bootcamp cannot partition this drive.
I do not know how to defragment the drive in Apple as I can in windows nor can I clean it up to maybe get everything in neat clusters, maybe somebody can help me solve this problem.

Sorry Bobthefisherman, this was not helpful. I had already gone through these pages before coming to you. What I have discovered however is that when Bootcamp Assistant deleted the partition, it did not create a single volume but created three partitions instead which maybe the reason why it cannot create the new part ion parameters I am asking it crate. So I took it to the geniuses at Apple who suggested that I reformat the drive and reload everything again! and this might solve the problem. We'll all know whether this is helpful once it finishes the formatting of the hard drive. This process is taking a very long time to complete so I am leaving it overnight for it to complete. I will keep you updated on progress. I am also told that Apple is struggling with Windows 8 drivers and I may not be able to use that, so I am going back to Windows 7 even though I was beginning to like windows 8 very much.

HP Split X2 upgraded from Windows 8 pre-loaded to Win 8.1, now cannot run Add feature to Windows 8.1

i have purchased a HP Split X2 13.3" laptop in a computer show slightly more than 1 year ago.
it comes with Windows 8 pre-loaded at that time.
Later on, Microsoft offer free upgrade for all Win 8 to Win 8.1 and i did that as well.
Everything goes perfectly smooth unless recently when i try to go Control Panel run Add Feature to Windows 8.1,
it ask me for product key!!
When i looked the bottom of my Split X2 laptop, it does not have the sticker of the Windows product key. There is only 1 Windows 8 hologen sticker! Hence, i use some key finder application to detect the product key.
I enter the product key when i run Add Feature to Win 8.1 again, but the Windows prompted me key is not valid.
Why?
The Win8.1 insalled is genuine version. I can perform regular Windows updates without issue.
Appreciate if any expert can help to resolve my issue.

HELP! iTunes won't load, gives Windows - No Disk error

This is so aggravating!
Last week I purchased $100 worth of audio books to put on my iPod for a vacation. Immediately iTunes wanted me to upgrade to 5.0, so I did. That's where the nightmare began.
With both versions, when I click on the iTunes icon (or the menu item), I get the license agreement, click "agree", then wait a moment before getting the Windows - No Disk error telling me to put a disk in "the drive" (it doesn't specify which drive). The message doesn't go away no matter how many times I click, or how fast, (I've gone into the hundreds). The only way I can get rid of it is to go into control/alt/delete and cancel the iTunes.exe process.
I have now spent about 20 hours trying everything I've seen on all the boards. I have uninstalled using Windows uninstaller; I've reinstalled standalone quicktime; I've installed with the ethernet cord disconnected and the USB's disconnected (including external hard drive); I've made sure all firewalls, etc. were off (McAfee, not Norton). I've done everything but voodoo.
I can roll back to iTunes 4.9 but it won't let me access my very expensive iTunes music and books - it just tries to take me to the music store and tells me to upgrade to 6.0!!!!!
Can someone please help?!

Pre loaded application of Yahoo, Snapfish & U-Tube, installed on the HP e-station e-print'

I have an HP Photosmart e-station C510a, with pre loaded apps of Yahoo, Snapfish & U-Tube, installed on the Zeen tablet and I’m unable to login to any of the above accounts and keep getting the same error messages, (Login failed- your account is locked) Please sign into yahoo via a Web browser to unlock your account) this statement is untrue as from a PC my Yahoo account is not locked, otherwise I get an error code 30 for the other applications such as snap fish and utube jus simply or can't play videos, this is not a network problem as I’I've had an HP Tech guy fault find the printer, the printer was returned to Amazon and a replacement was dispatched and received yesterday (5/11/2011) and still the same problems accrues so it looks like I’m about to return the second e-station c501a as not fit for purpose, is there a fault with the Zeen table that (HP) are aware off? or how do you rectify these login issues

Blue Screen of death - now can't load Windows (even in safe mode)

Last night laptop (Satellite L500 19Z; Win 7 64 bit) crashed whilst playing CIV4. Got a blue screen of death; before I had chance to read any of the error messages on it the machine rebooted.
It loaded windows in safe mode fine then, and informed me as it had loaded safe mode OK the problem will be related to some recently installed software and I should uninstall programs I'd installed until it would load normally. As it was late last night I shut down and thought I'd sort it in the morning (in retrospect this may have been a mistake ....).
Today, when the machine tries to boot up it attempts a Startup Repair; unfortunately this fails every time and it says "Startup repair has tried several times but still cannot detemine the cause of the problem"
I looked at the log it produces but it passes all the individual tests.
I also can't access the advanced options for system recovery & support, which appears on the Startup Repair dialog box as it demands I be logged in, which apparently I'm not (presumably as the machine never got to the windows login screen before trying the startup repair). The error message reads "you must be logged in to access system recovery options. If you are having trouble logging in please contact your computer administrator for assistance. please click OK to restart the computer."
I've had a go at booting into the various advanced options (safe mode, safe mode with command prompt etc. but the outcome is the same).
I also tried the Repair your Computer option from the advanced boot options screen, but after the screen where it asks you to choose the language and keyboard, I get the same login error mentioned above.
Is there a way to repair or even run the hard disk based windows recovery (haven't got the recovery DVD with me as I'm away from home for a couple weeks) without logging into windows? I would have expected there to be but have yet to figure out how to do it.
(there are no disks in the disk drive, no other devices attached to the laptop - I've tried it with mains power and with the battery and have not noticed any differences)

Normaly the reinstall data is on a separate part on your HD, not in Windows.
The register is only used for Windows.
If it doesn't work you can always try to reinstall from a DVD later.
It does mean all your data on C:\ will be gone. If you can hook your HD on an other PC you can try to safe your work with a recover prog.

Things I have tried:
1. I tried to backup manually to external HDD using wsb snap-in, but it has failed in the same way.
2. Stop and re-add protection.
3. I have researched the error, some results suggest that some bad sectors might exist, however, when I run the command, it forces me to schedule the command on next boot. when I reboot, it loads windows after that gives a message "Cannot open the volume
for direct access"
How to end this loop? please help. Thanks for considering my question ...

Please try clean boot then test how the issue goes. Following are the detailed steps about clean boot:
Log on to the computer by using an account that has administrator rights.
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER to start the System Configuration Utility.
On the General tab, click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box. (The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.)
On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
Click OK, Choose Don’t show this message again and then click Restart.
Please check if RDP session issue is still the same.

We created a winform application to generate a form letter report that runs fine within the IDE. When we build the the exe and copy it from the project folder to a folder on the C:\drive of this same pc and try to execute it we get these error messages (partial list);

We have the CPU set to x86 as we are ultimately trying to generate a 32 bit app for XP and Win 7. We only installed the 32 bit run time on this pc because we have no intention of going to 64 bit apps on the clients. Are there additional dlls or something that has to be installed in the same folder as the exe on this development machine.

Looking at the AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_myprograminfo led us to the last dll loaded being:

Scanning the community for "crdb_adoplus_res_en.dll" we got a hot on this issue again:
Failed to load database information. Error in File temp_
From the above we found this:
1. the app.exe.config is all in one package which cannot be separated with the EXE file.
2. the supporting component such as dll files, app.exe.config etc CANNOT be combined into the EXE file
Adding the cr3Test.exe.config to the same folder as the cr3Test.exe RESOLVED the problem on Win 7. It also RESOLVED the problem on Server 2012 R2.
We still need to test on Server 2008 R2 but we are hopeful when that time comes.

Data loads at Repository, but error in dashboard, System DSN

Error in Dashboard UI:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied at OCI call OCISessionBegin. [nQSError: 17014] Could not connect to Oracle database. (HY000)
While creating the System DSN with Oracle 11g, the error is as follows -
Unable to connect
SQLState=IM003
Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 127
Any inputs would be appreciated.

1.tnsping directly the OBAW from cmd prompt or putty
2.set the ODBC.INI tnsfile on linux box
3.set the tnsnames.ora file under Oracle client on windows box
4.try to directly view the data from repository
5. some times network issues, so ask your dba to bounce the database
6. take help of your DBA to investigate more from database side
