Preconfigured queries supplied by SAP

Hi all,
I'm trying to use a couple of queries supplied via BI Content.  When I execute them, the select options show data specific to my environment so I know the extracts worked.  However, no data is returned even if I run the query wide open.  I see that Static Filters are included in the query.  I would like to try removing them to see if that makes a difference.  In BEx Query Designer, I see how static filters are applied to various characteristics and default values but the 2 fields in question aren't even included in the display or select options.  How are these filters being applied?  In particular, I'm looking at query Sales Orders and Sales Revenue Values by Sales Representative, query 0SD_C03_Q02.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom

  • An issue using the COM components supplied with SAP GUI 6.2 or 6.4

We are having an issue using the COM components supplied with SAP GUI 6.2 or 6.4.  We used to have SAP 4.6c and now we have 5.0.  When we were on 4.6c, we used these COM components to logon and execute RFC calls and we had much success.  Now that we are on 5.0, we can’t seem to instance any SAP functions that have something to do with SAP Workflow.  We have experienced this problem when using VB6 or .NET, but our existing code that always worked is in VB 6.0.
    SAP Components used:
    o     SAP Logon Control
    o     SAP Function Control
    o     Librfc32.dll
o     Other supporting C DLLs and/or COM object supplied with the SAP GUI installation.
For example, if we want to call the RFC ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT, this code fails in VB6 when the “Set objworkflow = objFuncCtrl.Add(strFunction)” line of code executes.  Instead of returning an instance of the object ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT function, no object is created.  In 6.2, SAP raises no errors, but the object we are trying to create is still “Nothing”.  If we use 6.4, SAP raises an error “SAP data type not supported” via a message box and then the object is still = Nothing.  Interestingly enough, the 6.2 GUI COM controls don’t display the error dialog.  The message box that is shown comes from the SAP Function COM Object "SAP.Functions" (wdtfuncs.ocx).
Now, what is interesting is if we use the same code to call a standard function or custom function that doesn’t have anything to do with SAP Workflow, then the code works fine.  Again, all of our code used to work just fine on an SAP 4.6 system.
Here is the code that fails:
'SAP Logon control - object for creating connections to an SAP system
        Dim objSAPLogonCtrl As Object
        'SAP connection object
        Dim objConnection As Object
'Object that will represent the SAP function called
        Dim objSAP As Object
'SAP function control object - object factory for creating other SAP function objects
        Dim objFuncCtrl As Object
'Create instance of an SAP logon conrol
        Set objSAPLogonCtrl = CreateObject("SAP.Logoncontrol.1")
        'Create a connection object
        Set objConnection = objSAPLogonCtrl.NewConnection
        'Define connecion parameters
        objConnection.ApplicationServer = "sapvm"
        objConnection.SystemNumber = "00"
        objConnection.Client = "800"
        objConnection.User = "iissap"
        objConnection.Password = "tstadm"
        objConnection.Language = "E"
        objConnection.TraceLevel = 10
'call the logon method of the connection object
If objConnection.Logon(0, True) = False Then
            MsgBox Error
            Exit Sub
        End If
'Create an instance of the SAP Function control object
        Set objFuncCtrl = CreateObject("SAP.Functions")
'Set the function control connection object
        Set objFuncCtrl.Connection = objConnection
'Function name to be generated and called
        Dim strFunction As String
        strFunction = <b>"ARCHIV_PROCESS_RFCINPUT"</b>
'Create an instance of the function defined in strFunction
        Set objworkflow = objFuncCtrl.Add(strFunction)
        If objworkflow Is Nothing Then
MsgBox "Could not create object " & strFunction
        Else
MsgBox strFunction & " object created."
        End If
If anyone has seen anything like this or has any ideas, please help!

  • Choice of supplier in SAP Retail

    Dear Retail experts,
I am new to SAP Retail, but I am sure someone out there has a quick answer to the following question.
A store has a need of an article. If there is stock in the DC it should be supplied from there; otherwise, the store shall order from the vendor. Such process doesnu2019t exist in standard SAP (probably in SAP APO), but maybe thereu2019s such process in SAP Retail?
    TIA
    Raf

On the Article Master Logistics Store view, maintain the setting for Supply Source.  4 = Stock Transfer Before Standard.
This works in conjunction with ATP checking.
Store Order: Document Categories with Sourcing Check
The document category controls the conversion of store order IDocs into follow-on documents. If a sourcing check is to be carried out for the document category, the system determines a source of supply, and if it finds an internal source of supply, it also performs further checks on the goods, to ensure that they are available, for example.
The following are examples of document categories without a sourcing check:
Warehouse order with single availability check
The system checks availability for an internal source of supply according to ATP logic. If the available quantity is insufficient, the system searches for an external source of supply (the availability check cannot be carried out for an external source). The availability check is only carried out for a single internal source of supply.

    Hi.
I have a couple of queries with regard to Form 16.

    2. Where is the purpose of SAP ADS in digital signature?
    3. Do I need to get a new license for using the digital signature feature in form 16?
    4. My company is getting the digital signature part done thru a 3rd party. How to upload this digital signature into PC00_M40_F16?
    5. What are the relevant SNotes to be installed to use this feature?
    Regards

    Hi Abraham,
The workaround software we have used is provided by Ace Technology, they are one of the approved DSC vendors.
    This is their contact details:
    | Email: [email protected] | website: www.acetechnology.co.in
If you are going for the same vendor, go for a Grade 3 signature, it allows you to do a Mass Digital Signature.
The tech support provided by them was not that great, we eventually figured out how to use thier product, but incase you take the same service I can help you in figuring out how to use the USB token.

  • Difference - ORDERS05 sent from SAP to Supplier and SAP to SNC to supplier

    Hi Friends,
Want to know the Difference between two scenario - detail level analysis,
    1. ORDERS05 IDoc (Purchase Order) sent directly from SAP to Supplier.
    2. ORDERS05 IDoc (Purchase Order) sent from SAP to SNC and then to Supplier.
Is there any difference based on technical or functional level, are there fields provided by the Idoc transfer different in both the cases, why exactly SNC is used at 2nd place - only for the central place for Supplier to have access to all the details and as a interface for supplier to deal with the requirement from customer or there are some other benefits of it.
Mainly need to know Difference between the Purchase order sent by both the scenario to supplier.
Any details on the same will be highly appreciated.

    Hi Guangwei,
Unfortunaly I cannot use the wizard because the services that I'm mapping are not available on a SAP server, they are in a complex C# class. The proxies I'm generating make these class methods available for SAP users.
So I'm making a generator that acts like the wizard, it builds code so that persons can access it.
About the offset, shouldn't this be offset = offset + length of last parameter?
The first parameter is a string with a length = 20, so the offset of the next parameter (in this case a float) will be 20, right? The size of the F type if 8, right?
I used your wizard to create a proxy for a BAPI that has a float parameter in one of the used tables, and I noticed that it had an extra attribute Decimals = 16, I added this attribute but I've got no improvement.
(I also tried to put a offset = 24 with no good results)

  • Queries redg. SAP Netweaver Developer Studio Architecture :)

    Hello All,
I was going through the help pages on SAP Developer Studio and have following queries.
Have mentioned the links onto which I have few queries to ask:-
1> link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_webas630/helpdata/en/cb/f4bc3d42f46c33e10000000a11405a/frameset.htm and found a sentence saying:
"Offers a highly flexible development process, since the Developer Studio can also be used as a local development environment".
<u>Question</u> - Am confused with the word "also". what do they actualy mean by saying.."it can also be used as local development environment". Does it mean that I can use it by installing on my PC directly rather than on server?
2> This is related to SAP Developer Studio Archtecture.

The Model Abstraction Layer is a generic layer that provides the foundation for both the graphic connection and for representing design time objects at a logical level. This layer is thus an abstraction of the physical files and folders of the objects involved.
<u>Question</u> - What do they mean by graphics connection & design time objects? Any examples please..?
    Thanks and Warm Regards,

<i>Note: Please excuse me if this is not the right forum for such queries.</i>

    Hi Ritu ,
Netweaver Developer Studio can be used to deploy in local as well as remote servers.
Regarding the architecture Netweaver Developer Studio is based on open source Eclipse platform which SAP has developed its own plugins for its use.
Whatever components like views, viewsets etc can be represented by means of Navigation modeller ,Data modeller etc
Whatever design time objects are there they can be represented in such a manner that it explains the logical flow.

  • MDX Queries , Webservices in SAP BI7.0

In BI we have a Query and that query is being used by .NET Application. Now we need to do some changes in the query. While i made a change in the query in Q-Sys that change is not reflecting in the .NET Application[Q-Sys]. From the .NET Person i received some MDX Queries which are using for retrieving the data from the query. I used the TCODE : MDXTEST while im going to give that MDX Query and run it is showing the data, but that data is not similar to the query o/p(changed query), it is showing the data (as of before modifying the query).
Any one please help me out, regarding this MDX Queries, What is the WebService part in BW,

  • PAYMENT PROCESS TO SUPPLIERS WITH SAP VENDOR INVOICE MANAGEMENT BY OPENTEXT

Hello gurus i am trying to  send and write data from sap process integration to SAP vendor invoice management by OPENTEXT ,
the overall steps im trying are:
    FUNCTION:
    ARCHIVOBJECT_CREATE_FILE (ARC_DOC_ID)
    ARCHIVE_CONNECTION INSERT  (XML bound ARCDOC_ID)
    /OPT/_VIM_START DOCPROCESS (VIM PROCESS INITIALIZATION)
here i expect that vim could fill the following tables:
    OPT/VIM_1HEAD
    OPT/VIM_ITEM
I realized  some data is generated by example:
    DOCID
    DOCTYPE
    AR_OBJECT
but the following  fields are not filled for instance:
    VBLN
    LIFNR
    ....etc...
¿What kind of test / action/ SAP VIM configuration / development could i try  in order to get the correct excution of vim process????
    Regards!!!
Edited by: NWrscr on Aug 20, 2011 8:52 PM

    Hi,
I did something similar and what I did is use the FM /OPT/VIM_START_DOC_PROCESS_EXT. The parameters I used are: ARCHIV_ID
    ARCHIV_DOC_ID
    CHANNEL_ID
    EXTDATA_HEAD
    EXTDATA_ITEM
    IMG_DOC_ID
The extdata tabels are used for the "OCR" data. So you should connect to an OCR scenario and have the mapping done for OCR. If you don't have invoice data nothing will or can be filled off course.

I neglected that warning and i completed the configuration. Now am trying to execute Incoming Order Query but it is showing the Values as 0 for all the Key Figures and Characteristics.
Not only for 1 query for all the querire it is showing the Values as 0.
Please guide me with a solution.
    With Regards,
    Praveen

    Hi Savitha,
As it is a Preconfigured Solution given in SAP Best Practices,
These are the Steps i followed
    1) Transferring Business Content DataSources
    2) Logistics Extract Structures Customizing Cockpit
    3) Deleting the Contents of the Setup Table
    4) Performing Setup - SD Sales Orders
    5) Performing Setup - LE Deliveries
    6) Performing Setup - SD Billing Documents
    7) Replicating DataSources from the SAP ERP System
    8) Assigning Source System for Activation
    9) Activating Business Content: InfoObject Catalogs
    10) Loading Master Data Attributes/ Texts/Hierarchies
    11) Activating Business Content: InfoCubes and
         MultiProvider
    12) Activating Business Content: Queries
    13) Activating Business Content: Query Views
    14) Maintaining DataStore Objects
    15)  Loading Transaction Data
So i created InfoPackages and i did all these steps.
But as per our discussion when i right click and select manage on Sales Overview Info Cube in RECONSTRUCTIONS tab i found most of the InfoPackages Load Status as Red.
I hope you two will guide me to get a solution.

  • Authority check POWL queries

    Hi all,
is possible to hide some queries in POWL depending on the user's roles ?
For example; in tab SRM Administration I want that all users can use the queries; "Suppliers", "Bidders" and "Contact Persons" ... , but i want that only some users can use the queries; "Locations" and "Employees"...
    is it possible?
    thanks in advance.

    Hi RM,
Yes it is possible....you can restrict the POWL query based on roles or users..
Please check the below mentioned SPRO Path
SAP Implementation Guide-->SAP Web Application Server-->Cross-Application Components-->General Application Functions--> Generic SAP Business Suite Functions-->Personal Object Worklist-->Define Query Visibility at Role Level----->Execute
    or transaction POWL_QUERYR  .
Here you can define the quesirs for roles.
    Thanks,

  • Free issue of material to a supplier

    Hi There
We have a supplier that we order our cylinders from and have to issue a few parts to the supplier free of charge to complete the cylinder before they send it to us.
How do you issue the materials to the supplier via SAP?
Edited by: Csaba Szommer on Sep 1, 2011 3:17 PM

First Transfer the Sales Order Stock to Unrestricted using MB1B 411 E Movement type.
Then Using MB1B 541 Movement type Issue Components to Subcontractor.

  • Establishing a connection between SAP SRM and MM

    Dear All,
I am working  for a multi-national company  and now we are thinking to implement SAP SRM  but I have some questions about  communication between SAP MM and SRM. Firstly I want  so share with you our as-is status and then my doubts and question that I have.
In our case we have two different locationed organizations which are using different version of SAP system and SAP MM. In this  two sap system mostly codes are  and descriptions are different for  all materials and  now we want  gather all data and we want to have  one global code system and (local code also will remain). I mean we want  to call same materials with one global unique code instead of two different codes. We  are thinking to implement  something like coding center that will take local master data from local organization then will assign global code, update table then  with somehow will update SAP SRM.
    For example:
We have local  master data on R/3 is maintained manually by local user and net item is created locally each country by local user.Coding center will be aware of new creation by mail, automatically. Coding center will update table (adding a new row for each new item) on translator (tool for assigning global code for materials) assign to each new item a global code and category and in this way SRM will be updated automatically based on translator.
I am thinking to develeop a tool (excel, access… etc.) that will take new item creation manually or auto from local organization  then will assign a global code and category then will update SAP SRM automatically
Regarding to  tool I have some questions:
    1)     which are the standard communication channel between R/3 and SRM or How  they can speak with each other ?
    2)     Is there any standart batch file (BI or BAPI)  to be able to perform this.Is it possible to develop tool using excel or access …etc. which will manage coding task.
    3)     When we are trasferring for the first time Master Data from MM to SRM is there any standard transaction?
    4)     how the two MD are aligned (i.e. what if a new item is created or modified on MM)?
    5)     standard program (transaction) for aligning  available ?
    6)     ) how this process can be triggered (scheduled using SAP scheduler, event or user driven)
    7)     Where the translator  (tool) should be (R/3 local, SRM, BW, other) --> Enrichment table
    8)     How we can build the communication transaction?
    Thank you very much
Any comments and answers will appreciated and rewarded
    Regards,

    Hi,
Have you considered using CCM. You generally use an industry standard code (perhaps UNSPSC) in CCM as your vendors would all have different number (similar to your scenario). CCM is a plug-in to SRM, supplied by SAP.
The authoring tool is where you can enrich your catalogue, and have approval dependant on rules that you setup. In your case you would possibly have a catalogue per locationed organisation (or R/3 system). These would then be mapped to a master catalogue, and assigned to users as views. This tool is a BSP on SRM. You could also upload these catalogues from Excel (as a CSV) or through XI as XML. We use the automatic transfer of materials from R3 and then there is a report in SRM to feed that through to the catalogue.
The only thing that needs to be thought through is how you feed the selected catalogue item back to the differing R3 systems, but this shouldn't be a stumbling point.
    Cheers
    Rob

  • Acess the sap r/3 table

    hi everyone,
can i access the sap r/3 tables directly without rfc .....
any possibility is there means plz send me reply........
present i am doing bapi via jco using RFMs.........
      with regards,'
      satish

    Hi,
This question has already been asked (and answered) here - without FM can i acess sap table via jco? and here - bapi problem via jco and here - through jdbc driver connect to sap  Not sure if points are getting awarded or not...
Anil, you are posting very confusing answers that don't help people who don't know about SAP and RFC technology.  A BAPI is a type of function module.  An RFC is a type of function module.  A function module is a function module.  To clarify, there is only one object called remotely, that is a function module.  For this to happen it HAS to be RFC enabled (Remote Function Call.)  A BAPI is a function module that completes a certain piece of business logic in entirety, such as creating a document or changing a document - typically methods of business objects as you suggest.  There should be no distinction between RFC and BAPI.  Typically, all BAPI function modules are RFC-enabled so they can be accessed from remote systems/applications.  Any function module that is RFC enabled can be accessed from a remote system.  To access SAP data from external systems/applications via JCo you need a function module that is RFC enabled.  There are a lot of RFC enabled function modules supplied by SAP - if you are developing custom logic or working with custom tables on the SAP system then you will need to develop a custom RFC enabled function module (call it a BAPI if you want!) that you can then call via JCo.
I'd also say that connecting directly to a SAP database is very bad practice and shouldn't be suggested to resolve issues - data integrity can suffer and cause serious problems for the SAP system.  This method should be used with custom database instances (say created via the dictionary builder in NDS.)
    Gareth.
