That type of file doesn't exist until you export it out of DW.
Go to Site > Manage Sites > click the site you want to export the ftp info for > Export
That will create a .ste file that will allow you to import all of the site settings on another installation of DW.
If you're just looking to edit the information, you do that under Site > Manage Sites >  click the site you want > Edit > Servers > click the server you want to edit (testing or remote) > Edit

  • Help with Dreamweaver CS6 for Mac

I am a long time user of Dreamweaver CS 5.5 for PC and recently purchased an IMac. I have a trial version of Dreamweaver CS6 for Mac and am having difficulty displaying an html file in Live View. I always used "Preview in Browser" in CS 5.5 and need this same feature. I have an active site that I imported into CS6 and the site uses templates. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks,  Jim

Your CS6 serial number will be platform specific, if your serial number  is for windows they you may need to contact adobe support and request a platform swap

  • Dreamweaver CS6 on Mac - Retina Display not being used properly.

Hello. I have just installed the CS6 Dreamweaver trial [which I intend on purchasing eventually] and supposedly it is Retina display compatible. However, the fonts and in-program graphics look like crap for lack of a better word. I have checked the "Get info" panel and the box that says "Open in low-resolution" is checked and grayed out so I cannot change the setting. How to I get the program to use Retina properly? It is a fresh install, fully updated, and I haven't changed a single setting, I literally installed it 20 minutes ago. Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks!
Currently running OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2

Dreamweaver CS6 is not retina ready. Dreamweaver CS6 Cloud version is. Depending on which version you get depends on what you see.  If you are not trying the Cloud subscription then what you are seeing is what you will get until CS6.5 or 7 of the traditional licenses.

  • Site with templates does not open (Was: dreamweaver cs6 for mac)

I downloaded a site that uses templates and the files do not open properly. I also downloaded a site that does not use templates and all of those files load correctly. What should I do differently for the site using templates?

Some web browsers will not open a .dwt file (.dwt stands for Dreamweaver Template). You can change the associations for files in your operating system, by right (or [control]-) clicking on the file and choosing "Get Info" from the popup dialog window.
Then, in the "Get Info" window, choose "Open With" and pick the application you wish associated with the file.
Also, within Dreamweaver, you can set up what web browsers will preview a file by going to Preferences>Preview in Browser and choosing the browser(s) you want to preview your documents in. You can also pick which browser you wish to have as your primary. That will usually be [option]-[F12] to preview.
If you are working with Macintosh, you ought to download and install the Big Three browsers: Safari (which came with your Mac) Firefox and Google's Chrome.
Microsoft has chosen to quit producing Internet Exploiter for Macintosh, despite the fact that lots of people develop websites on Macintosh (and they whine when their browser is ill-supported). I did find that they're offering something for Macintosh, but it's virtualization and I have not tested it.
You need to test for IE7, 8. 9 and assume 10 is going to be compliant (though it's probably not). The Microsoft solution may not let you test all three.
Since Apple, Mozilla and Google provide automatic updates, you don't need to support old versions of those three browsers. And Nancy O. tends to suggest that ending support for older versions of Microsoft's browser is worth not doing. I, personally have one website that I have decided to not support versions below Internet Exploder 9 and another that uses the same feature is under development.

  • Very strange JavaScript bug in Dreamweaver CS6 for Mac

I'm not sure if this works only on a Mac, but it definitely works on any documents containing JavaScript that I create.
Type these characters exactly on a new line or at the end of any line of JS code in Dreamweaver. Works in a <script> tag in an HTML file and in a .js file. Copy/paste also works if you don't feel like typing, but watching the transformation is kinda worth the work.
// Boolean to prevent multiple instances of keystrokes from being recorded
Note what happens to the first / and the end of 'instances'... If you change any of these characters, even add a space at the end, it doesn't work. It has to be that phrase exactly.
Is this just happening to me?

Hmmm.. I'm using 5808. It's nothing serious, just kind of comical.
Here's a screenshot of what happens on my machine. I'll update my Dreamweaver and see if it fixes it.

  • How do I restore default preferences with Illustrator CS6 in Mac with Mavericks (10.9.2)?

In Library/Preferences I don't have the Adobe Illustrator Settings.
I tried the Find command to search for Illustrator Prefs, but can't see it.
If I were to find it, the Illustrator CS6 Classroom in a Book tells me to copy the file and save it to another folder in the hard disk? This I don't understand.
    Thanks!

    PA,
When you mean start up is opening Illustrator, right?
    Right.
The quick and easy way to restore default preferences is the Cmd+Option+Shift.
If you have customized your preference settings and wish to be able to get them back, you can use the Move the folder way which will save them so you can move them back and thereby regain your customized settings.
For your present use, Cmd+Option+Shift is the obvious choice.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 for Mac: Is there a way to display the file path in Design View?

Under Windows, DW's Design View shows you the path to the current file, right next to the document tab. I noticed the Mac version omits this handy feature. For those of us who work with lots of similarly named files distinguished only by folders, being able to quickly see what folder we're in is crucial. (see image below -- that's where Windows shows you the path, but is blank in Mac)
Is there something I'm missing, or some way to get that functioning? I know that I can see the path if I switch to Live View, but that is kludgy and breaks my workflow.

I use CoderPlus workspace & tabbed panels.  For me, the file url is on the far right side. See screenshot.
If you click the "Page Icon" in upper right corner to tile, the URL shows on the left side.

  • Can't map keyboard shortcuts in Dreamweaver CS6 (Mac)

I am trying to modify the keyboard shortcuts in Dreamweaver CS6 on Mac to match the mappings I had for CS5.
I used Ctrl + Tab and Ctrl + Shift + Tab to switch between open documents. When I trry to set this in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog it ignores my input. I tried to modify it in menu.xml (which already had this set, presumably because it copied it from CS5), but it still doesn't appear in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog or work when I press the keys.

I've just done some testing, and can confirm that Dreamweaver CS5.5 on a Mac (UK keyboard) allows you to assign Ctrl+Tab to that keyboard shortcut. But it won't accept it on Dreamweaver CS6.
I've no idea why that should be so. It's probably an internal change to something else that has affected it, and nobody noticed during testing because it's not common to change an existing keyboard shortcut to something else.
I suggest that you file a bug report through the form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform. Reports filed through that form go directly to the program team.
I can understand your frustration, but please remember that most of the people answering questions here, including myself, are not Adobe employees.

  • Dreamweaver CS6: Page navigation keys don't work in Files window (Mac)

    Hi all,
The home, end, page up and page down buttons don't work in the Files window of Dreamweaver CS6 on Mac OS X 10.7.3.
They did work in any previous version of Dreamweaver.
I wonder if anyone else experiences the same issue?
It was very handy - and is expectd behavior - and hope Adobe can restore this functionality.
    Thanks,
    Leo

Have you tried updating to 10.7.4?

  • Dreamweaver CS6 Importation site de Mac à PC

    Bonjour,

    http://help.adobe.com/fr_FR/dreamweaver/cs/using/WSc78c5058ca073340dcda9110b1f693f21-7ecea .html.

    http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Tutorial#Using_the_site_manager
    Mac: Mac OS X

Bien sûr, vous avez également besoin de toutes les données d'accès pour atteindre votre serveur.
    Cordialement

  • This morning dreamweaver cs6 restarted as if it was just installed lost all sites

Hi Dreamweaver CS6 for mac osx

major pain, any idea of hour to get back my actual version?
    it showing version 12.0.5861
the file in applications its showing as 12.0.3 build 5861
    any ideas????
    Thanks

Those are the same version. Macs just truncate the version number within the program itself, it's a known issue and doesn't affect how it runs.
Your sites are still on your hard drive, all you need to do is set up new definitions from the existing site folders to get them back.
Site > Manage Sites > New
When asked what you want to use for the local site root, browse to one of your existing site folders, add the FTP info and you should be good to go.
You aren't logged in under a different user account than the one you normally use, are you?

  • Dreamweaver CS6 glitch - HTML tag pop up pops up and stays

I'm in code view typing code. Sometimes the HTML tag pop up will pop up and instead of being helpful, it just stays there and the auto-complete HTML tag functions stop working. It is quite annoying on two levels. I cannot consistently recreate the issue but it happens every other day. I "fix" the problem by restarting Dreamweaver every time.
Can you guys patch this issue? I'm using Dreamweaver CS6 on Mac OS X. Here is a screenshot of what it looks like. Notice how this pop up just stays there even as I scroll through the code.
    Thanks.

What happens if you hit Shift+Spacebar?

  • Is dreamweaver CS6 buggy after latest update?

I am using CC Dreamweaver CS6 on MAC OS 10.6.8  After installing an update from Adobe manager, not only have I lost some tools in the insert panel, but I find it difficult to work with live view and seeing that any corrections made on the code side do not appear.  When tapping out of live view, splitting with code and design, the elements are no where near the position I script to its linked CSS. Before the update, Dreamweaver appeared to work fine.  When following tutorials on both Adobe and Lynda.com, I found it a breeze to work with.  However with this latest update, things have gone terribly awry in its current state.

    Thanks Jon,
However, I am still developing so I've not published the site.  I may return to my PC where I have CS5.5 Dreamweaver installed and continue work there.  It is unfortunate these bugs occur.  Although.  I am confident it will be rectified, hopefully sooner, than later.
As for what I am seeing on my live view, it is positioning of div tags.  I understand, it is best to use CSS.  At times it can be daunting for me to find the appropriate code to make modifications, I'm still learning as I go.  The gravity of it is that I am using one of Dreamweaver's mobile templates and following the instructions as noted in the page comments.  The distracton was updating Dreamweaver as I took a break from sitting on my keester not realizing that I should have finished the work before updating.  The work is systematically saved in 15min intervals.  But I should have finished the work before I updated Dreamweaver.  And now this has occurred.
    Thanks again, Jon.

That could be the problem. If you actually mean DWCS6 and not DWCC 2014.1.1 when you say "latest" (check out Help > About Dreamweaver for your actual version) it requires the older Java SE 6 to be installed on the Mac. See if reinstalling it helps...
    Java for OS X 2014-001
If you're using DWCC 2014 and updated your OS after having DW installed, you may need to reinstall to work out the kinks. Using the Cleaner Tool from Adobe to reinstall will give you a completely fresh installation...
